This Costa on Ferensway had quick service and nice coffee. We got the breakfast deal which reduces the price of toast when bought with a medium drink. A nice coffee shop, although it seemed quite full, with single people taking up a couple of tables for four with their laptops which I think is a bit selfish. Otherwise a good experience once we found a table...

Good central location. Spacious seating area. Friendly staff. Usual high quality Costa coffee.

Great location with a team of staff that are polite and highly professional, making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Always clean regularly, lovely coffee, and the service is quick. It’s a refreshing place to go to that stands out for all the right reasons. One of my favourite spots in the city centre, it can also be a calming atmosphere that helps ease mild anxiety when the place can be quieter.

Exceptionally quick efficient and friendly service. Toast was well cooked which is not always the case at Costa outlets. A few tables too close to each other when fully occupied. Overall a nice experience

It’s a Costa Coffee and a good one. Convenient location at beginning and end of trip into Hull by train or bus. Food and coffee as expected. Staff good.

Ordered two coffees and was told just paper cups were available so I said that’s fine but rather have proper cups but none had been washed yet. Whilst in the queue a chap brought back fresh clean cups so I asked if I could have those now they are available before my drinks were made. They refused to give me them because they hadn’t caught up with cleaning though cups were now there to use? We had a discussion but they refused still and just moaned that they hadn’t had their break? No idea what that has to do with using cups?? Will never use this shop against, terrible service terrible attitude. At some point somebody will get to use them cups but not me for some reason, laughable situation.

I like Costa coffee but had a very bad experience while ordering takeaway from this shop. The staff was very rude.. would never go back again.

Very clean tables and there’s always a staff constantly sweeping the floor and wiping tables after customers leave. Very friendly and helpful baristas (especially the guy with long hair last Saturday evening-sorry didn’t get his name)and great atmosphere. Well crafted beverages. Toilets were also well kept and clean. Thumbs up!

I've had a sandwich, which was very dry and chocolate twist which was n9t fresh and virtually chewing, very disappointed of Costa

Had very tasty toasted sandwich and muffin. My experience was enhanced by the 2 young men that were serving. Very polite and courteous to all customers on a busy lunchtime

Popped in for a sausage and tomato bap and cup of tea, after being told only bacon i asked no sausage left? And was met with the most sacrastic patronising customer service from the older blonde woman with glasses. The younger blonde lass working alongside her also stood rolling her eyes, absolutley terrible customer service and attitude which made me leave the shop and take my custom elsewhere. Told her to smile and improve her attitude.

I like Costa and this is one of their better branches. Comfortable and well situated in the City Centre. Not crowded when I visited, it felt safe and the staff were courteous and efficient.

Very clean and well organised. Staff were very pleasant, friendly and professional. Got a gorgeous hot chocolate, that actually tasted of chocolate rather than sugar, and a cake for a very reasonable price. Definitely recommended for a quick coffee and a snack.

Costa Coffee is the way to meet friends for a catch up, for a relax time in a busy day, for a chance to 'people watch' while your latte or cappuccino is resting a moment. Comfortable surroundings & great staff to prepare your snacks or chilled drinks, what more do you need ?

Went in today for coffee and sandwiches. Tables well apart . Hand sanitizer near the door. Did wait a while for our toasted sandwich as seemed to be only one staff on and what looked like a new girl. Sat down and realised that the table and floor were dirty. Didn’t expect that . Cleaned the table but didn’t feel like an effort had been made to do any cleaning . Not the staffs fault as they were serving all the time. Won’t rush back.

Coffee is life! And they make some very good coffee!

Not a regular coffee shop visitor as I only like instant coffee, popped in as we where on a family shopping trip, ordered a medium hot chocolate which wasn't anything special for what it cost, saw the bill for 3 coffees and hot chocolate and a soft drink which reminded me why I don't visit these places

This is a great branch of Costa. Quick, friendly service, hot coffee - and a good range of their food on offer. This branch is so much better than the shambles of an offering in Bridlington and the rude staff in the Beverley one.

Regular visitor to Costa and although its always busy the staff are helpful, the place is clean and the food is nice. A++

Dirty tables with pots and trays on, if they are to busy to clear when someone leaves then they need a tray stacker for patrons to clear their own mess up

Overpriced mediocre drinks. Usually the larger drink you buy, the weaker the strength of the drink. 'more water and a larger cup' seems to be the standard. Food and snacks available require a mortgage. I complain, yet I still go occasionally, for the friendly, warming environment and welcoming knowledge staff.

Slow service. Got my coffee had to ask twice for the cakes we'd ordered.

The only reason this extremely busy and popular Costa hasnt got 5 star is because there is not a lot of space for a wheelchair at tables amd between tables. Otherwise they would have 5 stars

Great place, though it can seem a little small, this is mainly due to its location and the time you go to it, otherwise its in a nice location and as always from any Costa the drinks and food are great. The staff are friendly and it's nice and clean

Toilets are in need of a good clean or refurbishment

Went here yesterday for a drink and some lunch with my friend and fully enjoyed the service was a fast and friendly service. My friend had a New York Cheesecake can’t remember what he had to drink whilst I had a sausage sandwich and something off the new Irish Velvet range that being the Irish Velvet hot chocolate. The only downside is that the member of staff serving me forgot to put tomato sauce on my sandwich after he did ask me tomato sauce or brown sauce but that’d be me being picky and to be fair I could’ve asked myself when he forgot so no problem. All in all mine cost around £6.40 which is a good price for a bit of lunch and a drink with friends. The location of the Costa was in a bus/train station but it was a nice and cozy little chain of Costa and is good enough for its target audience of people waiting for their train or bus to come in. All in all fully enjoyed as always with Costa as I’ve never had a bad experience with their customer service and are disability friendly.

I love the coffee at Costa, but I have made a decision to stop going into Costa as the last 3 visits to different Costa outlets have all been really disappointing. Each visit I've entered the shop to find overflowing tables, dirty floors and when you do manage to find an empty table they are always dirty and sticky. Costa must be saving a fortune by not having enough staff to keep the eating area clean and tidy, shame because the coffee is really good. The Costa on ferensway on my last visit was horrible, the place was an absolute mess.

Tea was disgusting and the tea pot was absolutely filthy inside and the spout was near enough black with filth .

The shop on arrival smelt like stale stagnent water like there had been a leak of some sort the decor was dirty and the sofa we sat on was ripped and past its best and the overpowering smell of urine coming from the toilet was enough to make you gag

Visited here today as a pit stop before an appointment. Ordered a small white hot chocolate. The girl only filled it 3/4 full and when she came to realise quickly frothed some more milk. This made the drink luke warm and there wasnt enough white hot choc in so it was in essence just warmed up frothy milk with a slight hint of choc. Will not buy this again

Friendly staff, clean and tidy, tables cleared quickly

It's quiet and you aren't rushed along to finish whatever you're having. One thing I don't like is the smell from the sewers in that part of town. You can smell it in the shop but that isn't Costa's fault.

Two hot chocolates and two muffins, glass cups were water stained and the cutlery was stained too just need a bit more attention to these and would improve rating but overall friendly staff. Same as working in a restaurant presentation is key.

Usually not a bad spot for breakfast. Went in on Saturday however and I had the brown toast and tea which was fine. My husband had the white toast and tea. Also he had a croissant. The croissant was stale so he took it b back. The waitress did she had opened then that day and they should have been OK. She offered him another but he declined. She did give him a refund though. He bit into his toast and that was also stale (I tried a bite and it did taste stale didn't try the croissant but it didn't look right) the waitress said again that every thing had been opened that day. This is not a usual occurrence for this place but we may boycott for a bit

Well it's a Costa, so it's much as you'd expect. However that being said, the coffee was excellent, food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly, even though it was a hot Friday in the school holidays. I've been before and will continue to go to this one again, and would happily recommend friends and family to do the same.

Great coffee with brilliant staff

Fairly standard Costa Coffee... the flat white I had was very nice, but the service is terribly slow. There were only two people in front of me but it took 15 minutes to get served.

I think it would of been a nice experience if the tramps hadn't been coming in and using the facility's, they walk in ask the staff if they can use the toilet and the staff were ok with this, coffee was ok will not be using the coffee shop again in Hull very disappointed as I was on my own having a coffee I felt very uneasy ☹️☹️☹️. If you didn't do nice coffee you would of got a ZERO.

I was standing in line waiting my turn for them to take my order. When it was my turn, they did not take my order, they just carried on as if I wasn’t there, they didn’t even acknowledge me!! I was standing there for about 10 minutes, no one even looked at me, just carried on with what they were doing. eventually I just left because I got sick of them ignoring me. Very annoyed, I see this place already has bad ratings, I can see why!!!!! You absolute f***ing c***s!!!!!

Ordered a double espresso it was cold some how? I returned it and the guy said had change it no problem I'll bring Another one over take a seat. The chap bought it over and when he put it down he said they you go mucka'?! NOT appreciated. The coffee was perfectly good second time.

I love costa lovely drinks and they are always happy and friendly. It can be a bit of a wait if there are a few people in front but that's just because they make the drinks properly!

We came in this morning to have a drink and a breakfast bun whilst waiting for the shops to open... I got a bacon bun and my fiancee got a egg muffin, well to say we was disappointed is an understatement!!! I had to search for the morsel of bacon that was inside my bun, and the so called egg in the other sandwich was a slop of scrambled egg with no taste.... poor food at expensive prices, not happy customers.

Great service, nice and clean. Toilets, like other Costa venues, smell awful..... needs some bleach or disinfectant. I think it's, about time they had separate men's and womens toilets.

It's ok place if you can afford the coffee. Staff seem too have trouble getting orders right and was never told about the points card

Ok this is an edit. On my last 2 visits the coffee has been only warm, in fact i took the last drink back telling thw staff it was cold. Unfortunately so was the replacement. The barista said "its not my fault the machine sets the temperature"?? I will now use the Caffe Nero across the road. Shame I liked the location. This Costa has quite a good outlook, lots of people to watch! My only complaint is the place is not kept clean or tidy. The furniture is very tired almost worn out. On the plus side the coffee and the tea cakes a good.

Always love Costas no matter which one I go too... that's why I keep returning friendly helpful staff delicious food and yummy coffee 😁
