Awful place which will have you waiting upwards of an hour to get any kind of service. Staff were very rude, especially the bouncers who were very intimidating to me and my friends for absolutely no reason. Won’t be visiting again.

Came to grain multiple times the past week, very accommodating with food, drinks and very pleasant staff. Very pleased with Becca, Chloe & Shannon today, smiles throughout. Prices were worth it for a range of cocktails. flames all around

One of the best places in Wolverhampton for casual drinks and lovely food but also an amazing night out! The atmosphere is amazing along with the beautiful and unique decor and the cocktails are also beautiful. The staff are always pleasant and accommodating.

Class night at the gin fest the weekend just gone. Music was perfect, drinks and food cheap and cheerful, an overall great vibe with fun friendly staff always on the ball ready to serve you drinks at the bar.

I went to the grainstore on Saturday and had the best time! Me and friends were so glad to finally be out off lockdown.. and grainstore did not disappoint the cocktails were lovely and the staff were very knowledged when we asked what drinks we should have can’t fault it. Great night!

Having spent so long in lockdown we were eager to get out. Sent the night at the grain store and had the best night we've had in over a year. Staff were really happy and friendly, cocktails are made to the highest of quality.

Been a long time since being in my second home, lock down changes things but nothing changed in TGS great customer service .. pleasant friendly staff .. got to wait a bit cos of ginholics but hey thats life, the place is one of the best in wolverhampton, can't understand negative reviews a bit of patience works wonders.. remember customer can be wrong sometimes me included

Overall amazing experience. the drinks were top notch and the food was amazing, we stayed for the gin festival and had the best time such an incredible atmosphere. Hats off to the bar staff as well as the kitchen staff. Thank you for an amazing night. We'll definitely be returning.

Went to the grainstore with a couple of friends. Haven’t been out since lockdown. Couldn’t compliment Nathan and Lauren enough! Made us feel so welcome and had a lot of knowledge about the different gins they had (also their own house infused gins). The garden is a true botanical experience, the best beer garden in Wolverhampton. The food was delightful and very delicious, really liked the idea of street food as you don’t get that very often… especially in a restaurant so very interesting for the quirky bar that it is. After eating they told us they would be moving the tables as they turn into a nightclub which was fine as we wanted to stay the whole night. The atmosphere was amazing and seen so many happy faces, the bar staff did extremely well as how busy the place ended up being. Would 100% come again, amazing night!!!!

Absolutely shocking - my friends and I spent over £100 on tickets for last night. We were in a queue of about 50 other people, when I approached the bouncers to discuss I had tickets already they said everyone else had too and and they weren’t in the slightest bit interested or helpful. Disgraceful and dishonest. No one should buy tickets for events at the Grainstore. I know these places have got to make money after lockdown but being dishonest is not the way forward. I will be going to Tracing standards and posting it on other social media sites. Very least I would expect is a full refund or as a gesture of goodwill foc tickets due for the next event. I look forward to your response.

A friend and I booked here for food and drinks. Upon arrival we walked in and there were barely any members of staff around, just a young girl behind the bar on her own. We waited around 10 minutes for someone to tend to us. We informed them we had a table booked and she replied that there wasn't any tables outside and would have to eat inside. This wouldn't have been a problem if we were just drinking, but as we were eating and the vibe had turned into more of a nightclub with flashing lights and loud music we thought it wouldn't be appropriate so we decided to wait for one to become available outside; which was quite quickly to be honest. However we were not shown to our table, rather just pointed and left to find it ourselves. We ordered our cocktails which were very nice I have to say, although my friend did notice that none of the fruit behind the bar was being stored correctly and there were bottles of cleaning product, rags etc just carelessly tossed around the area in which drinks were being prepared which is a health hazard to say the least. We proceeded to order our food but we noticed that the menu available did not coincide with the one online; which looked and sounded absolutely delicious. There was limited options but we decided what we wanted and ordered although the bar staff didn’t seem to know whether the kitchen was open or not though as I went up to order which I thought was confusing as we had booked specifically for food and drinks. As our food arrived it was served to us in cardboard containers and was warm rather than piping hot, which is what you expect from freshly cooked food. I couldn’t understand the concept of serving us street food, in a restaurant. I would have much rather a plate to eat off. The waitress brought out half of our order and then disappeared for 15 minutes. When I called her back over to ask where the rest of our food was she said “oh yeah it’ll still be on the side, I’ll just grab it.” I thought this was very unprofessional and terrible customer service. We ordered a bottle of prosecco which was delicious and quickly drank and ate up and left. The staff were friendly enough but thoroughly lacked customer service and skills to be honest. I definitely won’t be returning for food any time soon. I’d much rather prefer a standard pub meal to this awful establishment. I'd also like to add that the bathrooms were very unsanitary; there was no soap in either of the dispensers and they smelt revolting.

Went to grainstore for some drinks and encountered some of the worst service I have received. Firstly we was shoved in the corner of the outdoor section where there was quite a big draft coming in, I asked one girl if we could move to which she wasn’t really bothered and rushed away. I asked another man to which he said in around 30 mins time if people haven’t turned up for their table then we can move you. 30 mins went by and no table move.I then ordered a drink and proceeded to find an egg shell in my drink I asked the waitress from before in which her response was “oh” and walked off great help! I then got to speak to a manager who said because I’d already drank most of it then they can’t do anything. I mean that’s fine in normal stances but not when there’s an egg shell at the bottom of the glass. She said I make a good point and will do me a new one - great. However she said that in future she won’t allow it because I’d drank out of it - I then said but am I expected to check every drink? Then came the reply of “I’ve just given you a solution to your problem” and walked off. Absolutely abysmal

Came last Friday and staff were brilliant, only had a table for the 6pm sitting and wanted to stay there all night luckily lauren found us a table upstairs for the 10pm sitting . great selection of food and drinks, Can't wait to come back, fantastic bar will be recommending to everyone - great atmosphere

Myself and 4 friends came for a bottomless brunch, once our 90 minutes was up we paid £8.50 each for a cocktail. 2 of the girls had cherry o babies which came in paper cups that smelt of mould. We asked for fresh glasses to be confronted with rude and unprofessional attitude towards us. Won’t be returning

Below average bottomless brunch. Visited here in May for the bottomless brunch with a friend, I’ve done a few bottomless brunches before so know how they work etc however here was not good. The drinks were delivered really slowly (and considering there wasn’t lots of others around this was extremely surprising and disappointing). And the food was just not good at all. There is not much choice for food on the brunch, however a burger is fine if it’s tasty - which this was not. The food also took over 90 minutes to arrive, and only when promoted were we asked if we wanted a free shot to compensate for the slow service. The wait also meant that we had finished our bottomless brunch before the food had arrived. The drinks were nice and had a good selection so this was the only positive. Wouldn’t return again, especially for the price.

We came for "bottomless" brunch. What a complete disgrace. 5 of us paid £33 each in advance for a "gourmet" burger bottomless brunch. Where do I begin? The burger was in no way gourmet, it was the most basic burger I've ever had. It was dry, it was small it was completely underwhelming. There was no cheese on the burger and when i queried that I was told I would've had to order that separately and it was extra! I'd expect a gourmet burger to have cheese as well as some other extras and look special and appetising. It definitely didn't look anything like the picture. The burger itself seemed hand made but that's not enough to make it a gourmet burger. We were also given one small pot of coleslaw between 5 of us. Now onto the service. It was pathetic. The staff were friendly but we did not get good service. We were given a time limit for our bottomless drinks so expected drinks to be replenished regularly, this is the point after all, but after 70 minutes of our 90 minute limit we'd had 2 glasses of proseco. They were not refilling our drinks. We kept asking staff for more drinks and would get the answer, "I just serve food" or "I'll have to find the person doing bottomless brunch" or "I'll have to find someone who's doing your table". We asked 3 people in a row and none could help us until we found the 4th person 20 minutes later. Then when we did manage to order, it would take 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. 3 of us were drinking proseco (£4 a glass) and 2 of us were drinking cocktails (£8 a glass), so you would expect the proseco to be replenished twice as fast but they came out at the same rate as cocktails. How is that fair? I complained after 70 minutes and we were given an extra 30 minutes but only received 5 drinks in total, which is nowhere near enough and not good value. We didn't have any drinks whilst eating our food and we're still waiting for salt we requested for the fries. This was a complete scam. I have been to a number of bottomless brunches in Wolverhampton and this was the most expensive with the least amount of food (that was also definitely not gourmet) and the least amount of drinks. By far the worst value and worst service. The waitress then had the cheek to offer us a shot 'for the road' and charged us £18, as if they hadn't had enough money out if us. I'm disappointed because I always take my friends to The Grain Store when they come to visit because we like it, but... DO NOT HAVE BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH. They advertised it with fancy photos with lots of drinks and stacks of great looking food but when it actually came down to it they gave us the most half arsed basic burger and nowhere near enough drinks. Definitely not value for money and definitely not a gourmet bottomless brunchAlso, one of my drinks came and the glass tasted and smelled strongly of a woman's perfume. It didn't seem like the glass had been washed between uses. This is completely unacceptable and extremely worrying in a COVID world

Had brunch on Saturday at grain store. Good value for money re the drinks and our server was great. The only negative was the food. The burgers advertised in the picture are not what you get. I asked what food was available. It was either a veggie or a beef burger. I asked if I could have cheese on my burger and I was told a straight No. Your advertising fancy looking burgers with all the garnish but this is not what you get. For £32pp a slice of cheese was too much to ask!

Great food and drinks. But the service was next level! Jade and Aaliyah both went above and beyond to make sure we had the most amazing day!!

I came here on a brunch with my mate Steph and we had a lovely time! Drink were lovely and the atmosphere was lush too. Aaliyah was a lovely waitress and a top gal in general, always made sure we had drinks and was lovely in the process, really relatable!!!

Visited today with my daughter attentive staff with nice surroundings. Paid for bottomless brunch for 2. Food arrived surprised at sparseness on picnic table compared to fb photo advertising this brunch! Ordered 2 mocktails which had to pay extra for - very surprised as not everyone wants alcohol at every drink however when reading the the menu afterwards both contained Gin ! Laura our waitress was polite and attentive. Would not rush back as food was mediocre at best.

Food and drink here was amazing, drinks came out almost straight away and so did food. Massive thank you to Danny our server who went above and beyond to make our day/night the best it could be!

Visited for my birthday have always wanted to go and was utterly disappointed when arrived. Booked weeks in advance, the woman organising was so unorganised and barely answered calls. Multiple calls and voicemails wee left to which were never responded. Specifically requested a heater and back table and got the complete opposite. Service was awful and kept having to ask for drinks. And drinks took an hour to come and food for 1 drink and 5 chicken strips and and some chips. Drinks were massively overpriced and no music out front. Will not be coming back and would much more rather go to slug and lettuce or cheaper alternatives.

The servers Nathan, Imogen and especially Bernadette were very pleasant, very professional. Very covid safe. Wait for drinks wasn’t long at all, and looked very pretty. Very courteous and polite towards all customers. Overall service was extremely appreciated and would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon. Garden is also very beautiful and all around good times here.

Really enjoyed our time! Garden is beautiful, staff coped amazingly with a busy day, food was brought to the table quick and was really good! Our server was a girl called Lauren, she went above and beyond and made our first day back at the bar amazing. Will definitely be back!

I was taken to the grainstore as a surprise for my birthday. A £40 depisit was taken ahead of the event. Upon arrival we had to registar for covid temperature taken then taken to garden area. We were told to sit at a reserved table , we moved as small & cold. The menu came out & we all ordred lasagna , & guess what NO LASAGNA! We odered burgers as nothing else to have , we were bordering leaving at that point however we all percivered . 45 minutes later food arrived burgers uncooked raw even , chips cold the entire food was dire , we all agreed this was the worst meal for a long time & we all agreed that we will never return even if they paid us . The people running this place should have ordered enough food to cover the menu. The drinks are over priced & the staffs attitude towards the paying customers is dire, rude & arrogant & they are covid ignorant!!!An experience that will never be repeated as we will never go again. I could have had a better birthday meal at mcdonalds.

All I can say is horrendous customer service, bar staff throw the menus at you and don’t care at all. Booked her with a £40 deposit, wish I’d have gone elsewhere. Bar staff belittled us and made us feel horrible, ruined my friends birthday, will never return. Also, we were placed in an area with no heating although there were heaters over every other table and no one was sat at them, we were told we couldn’t move and if we didn’t like it we should go elsewhere.

Walking down Kings Street my twin brother Stephen and I chanced upon The Grain Store Emporium & Kitchen and what a great find. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, the interior is superb, eclectic decor and furnishings including a superb looking serving bar but the most notable feature of this bar is the extraordinary beer garden ,a riot of colour with great wall art ,flowers and twinkling lights ,a wonderful place to unwind in.We were here on a Saturday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff after giving our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands we sat outback in their beer garden were we ordered a cider each,ciders were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and took in the great bar we were in. My cider was just so good,a crisp,fruity effervescent cider that on a hot afternoon certainly cut through the thirst, it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a quality brew. We both really enjoyed our ciders in here ,only stayed for the one as we were pub and bar hopping around this part of town and for a first time visit to here we had a great time. The Grain Store Emporium & Kitchen is easy to locate along Kings Street. A wonderful bar ,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Today we had an amazing sunny day out. We walked from Aldersley Stadium up the 21 locks and into Wolverhampton city center for our Groupon Deal Lunch for Two. I wholeheartedly recommend this quirky eatery. It has traditional lunch seating inside but the garden outside is also heated for cool March days. The meal we has was absolutely gorgeous. For staryer we shared a Nacho and heated cheese dish with salsa, sour cream and jalapenos. We built our own individual burgers and they came with fries, coleslaw, onion rings with salad within the burger. The dessert was so impressive, a sticky toffee sundae - crunchy, decorated and delicious. The whole meal was excellently cooked and presented. Michael looked after us with courtesy and care throughout our stay, bringing us our drinks, fill ups and each course. He was friendly and recognised us from our other visits, making us feel very welcome and warm. The 'Garden' is super querky with flashing lighting, miriads of flowers, greenery and plants, art work and a fully stocked bar as well. I took photos and they are really beautiful. This meal was such a bargain deal - you should get it for yourself and see! We will certainly be visiting again despite the long walk there and back. Alang the canal walk were were graced with seeing a Kingfisher too.

Honestly the place is terrible I would save your money and drink else where, the security guards are bullies and ruin your night before your even in. There racist and have a problem with people who dress smart

I have attended grain store a few times, as a university student it is a great local club to visit, however the bouncers are absolutely disgusting. As time goes on i often avoid the club due to the disrespect and ruddiness received from them. This evening I attended the club and after asking the bouncers told me the coat room was not open. I expressed this was silly, it was pouring it down with rain and it should be open, because of this small comment (and it was small) the bouncer was very rude and told me to go away and would not let me, this is the last time I attend grain store and would never recommend it to any of my university friends again, the bouncers are just to rude and ruin the night even once you are allowed into the place. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

We really enjoyed the three course meal we had at The Grain Store. The food was lovely ( a bit more than I could eat) and the service was quick and friendly.

We had the three course meal bought as a Groupon deal for us. We prebooked the table and although we arrived early, it was no problem. The starters were nachos and were delicious. Our burgers were great, very filling, and came with onion rings, fries and coleslaw. We chose peanut butter brownie with toffee ice cream for puds. Sadly I was on dry January so did not partake in the huge choice of gins. Lovely place, fantastic staff and awesome food!

Used to love this place but I think it's grown "too big for its boots".Bar staff don't give full measures because they are so busy they don't have time to fill them before throwing into a glass. I've tried the bottles and their own gins and they are equally tasteless. The bar staff also don't have time to be polite.The door staff are extremely rude, the worst in Wolverhampton!The ladies toilets are a joke, only two cubicles downstairs so a 30 minute wait is the norm.Positive- the music is great and the glass collectors are very polite

Great night had in the grain store. Only downside is the ladies toilets. Clearly not enough toilets for customers drinking there. Waiting over 30 minutes to use the loo... No thankyou. We left and went elsewhere.

Popped in on a lunch time for a coffe but ended up having a gin and a few nachos to nibble on.What a fantastic place such a lovely atmosphere and the gin choice is brilliant. The staff are soooo helpful and friendly will go in again soon. The outdoor area in the back is well I can't say it's one of a kind brilliant great in the summer.Well done to all a little gem in Wolverhampton

Visited with a couple of work colleagues on a Friday lunchtime. It was quite busy but the staff were pleasant and efficient. I ordered a G&T; Fish Finger panini. There was a bit of a wait but I would rather that than it appear in seconds! It was very tasty and value for money. Its quite a quirky place which is good. Looking forward to going back soon.

My first visit to The Grain Store in Wolverhampton was on a wet and windy August night. But the atmosphere in the back part of this place made me think I was in Spain or somewhere.

However popped in today to wait for other half to finish work. Ordered Ploughman's lunch with ham and pint of Strawberry and lime cider. Paid at bar. Waited half an hour and a cheese Ploughman's came out. I informed the same staff member who had taken the order that I asked for ham. She informed me that I hadn't and had asked for cheese. I told her I didn't because I don't like cheese . She snatched the plate up and came back within 5 minutes and plonked the plate in front of me without a word. The ham was thin as paper,2 slices,the accompanying salad was dry as if it had been taken from a packet, there were two halves of one cherry tomato and about 10 small chips. The bread was normal sliced bread that had been toasted. The menu says "fresh crispy bread". So no I wasn't impressed and glad that I didn't order something more substantial. Saying that I do like this venue very much but doubt if I'll be eating here again.

Food wasn't what was discribed on menu , chicken ceaser and piri piri chicken salad chicken was square inch paper thin proccessed chicken, when I approached staff she got argumentative, shrugged her shoulders and walked off?

Nice lunch in a warm friendly trendy place if you like gin you will love this place nice large choice of gins real cocktails here made fresh n from scratch food is also well priced n nice,tasty desent portion size clean friendly place nice garden at rear also good night out here as ive been several times in evening dj play then outside and sometimes live singers .

First time here, popped in for lunch. Took ages to get our coffees, then when the food arrived my salad was doused in chilli oil making it a horrible greasy mess. Really not impressed, wont be eating here again.

Booked here for My Mom in laws 70th birthday after visiting Theatre. We had lovely afternoon Tea with arrived in Mini Suitcases . All the food was fresh and tasted lovely , very filling and a great selection. All washed down with a Cheeky Gin Cocktail which came with an inflatable . The drinks menu had everything covered , some many different gin concoctions it really was A Gin emporium! We Managed to try 6 Different ones between us , all of which were lovely. I can highly recommend “ let me be your fantasy “. The Atmosphere in there was great too , and the staff were really helpful . Highly recommend The Grain Store

Service couldn’t be faulted. The girls that looked after us were very attentive and couldn’t fault them. Good however was rubbish. Afternoon tea was nothing enticing or different. All style over substance presenting it in boxes to fool you into thinking you’re in for a treat. Then you get fresh made sandwiches at least (two flavours between 7 of you), then store bought scones, cheap nasty jam, bought in cheap horrible blackcurrant cheesecake and macaroons. A few crisps and nuts. And some boiled sweets for petit fours? Cocktails were ok. However when someone at the table ordered the same one paying the full price for it after the meal it was much stronger than that with the meal so I’m guessing you don’t get a proper strength one with the afternoon tea!

Rod Stewart was coming to town and it was busy,very busy, but with a bit of patience tables did become available from time to time. A never ending queue at the bar and over an hour and a half for the food to arrive. But it was good value when we got it, and the staff were working just about as hard as you could expect.So it is a nice place (not sure what all the blockboard in the toilets is about)and it does deserve a repeat visit but when it is not so quite so manic.

Last night, with Rod Stewart in town the place was heaving with people. We had rung earlier in the week to reserve a table of 10 and pre order our meals....when we arrived our table was occupied by others who resuloutely refused to move, despite the lovely was the waitress Cat explained, and offered alternatives. She was calm,polite, very patient and did everything she could to sort out this for us, eventually finding another table and she and Morgan worked so hard to get our food out to us with a smile and charm. Great customer service, faced with disgruntled people she was amazing in her desire to help and find a solution....food was nice too!

Charged us £5 on the door on a Wednesday. Let me repeat on a Wednesday. I’m out on a Wednesday in Wolverhampton and they charged me a fiver. Not very busy and the bloke on the door was rude. Hopefully the night gets better x

Came here with my family with the Groupon voucher for 4 people. Which came with 3 courses for each of us. Our first two courses came quickly, were just what we wanted. Delicious.

25.5.19 - The first time lve been to The Grain Store. What s experience classy, vibrate, hot sexy. I loved the atomsphere. Drinks sre amaxing a good vararity of gins, for gin lovers also other drinks are available. Theee are two sections outside, that looks like your still inside, great lighting two DJ's they play such great music, nice mixture of ages. Would definatley recomend this venue as a first date, couple, girls / lads nightout. Will be coming back. Great job

We went here as a large group and wanted a quick bite to eat. We ended up staying several hours due to the Best atmosphere in the garden area, and the amazing prices. The gin cocktails are amazing and very quirky with an added twist to them. Vegan burger was amazing. Would have been a 5 but some of our order was mixed up...however we were a large group

Was unsure what to expect as far as pub grub goes but have to say the food on lunch time was piping hot and fresh!

Me and my friends love it here! Great drinks great music they have different rooms also so nice to be able to move about listen to different music and try different drinks. Only shame there not a lot of toilets but staff are lovely will be going there again.

Visited on groupon deal excellent value. The food was good and we really loved the choice of gin cocktails. Recommend the blackberry and apple crumble one. If it had been warmer we would have sat out the back in the flower/garden themed room which looked fantastic. Spoilt a bit by some blokes on a stag do who were very inappropriate with a female customer, shame on them. Otherwise all good and we will go again for the gin!

You can tell that The Grain Store has worked hard and invested a lot into becoming a unique and well rounded place to go for a drink. Which is why it’s a shame that they’ve begun to enforce out-dated, strict dress-code rules.

Booked to come as a treat for Sons 18th as we were in area- nice atmosphere, quick service, seated out of way of bar- which suited us. The groupon offer included 3 course- all well received and enjoyed! Gin selections brilliant from candyfloss to being served in a plastic bathtub! (although machine broken to complete bubble / fruit effect/ taste- as this not mentioned before we were obliged to purchase it anyway! for £8 a bit unfair and tasted wrong.thankfully I spoke to another barman and he changed it! Back to 5*

Nice food here although mine came before my friends so we didn’t eat together which wasn’t great, I had the cod burger which was lovely and the chips were tasty, my friend had the cannelloni which was huge! It was a little disorganised, weren’t given a knife and fork table number wasn’t written down. There is a large selection of gins, and it’s quirky inside it really did smell of stale alcohol from the weekend though and bleach! I would eat there again and sample a gin or two!

Great little place! Groupon voucher used for 3 course burger meal for 2, £16, which was great value. Lovely tasting food, quick service. We visited on a Saturday evening, music was a bit loud to be able to sit & chat, couldn't really hear each other talk! But still great for a night out, all sorts of different flavoured gins to try. Outside is fabulous too! Covered area with a cocktail bar! Brilliant, love the place!

I’m so shocked at previous reviews, I couldn’t fault a thing. The whole venue is quirky with a great atmosphere. Service was excellent and the range of gins is incredible! There were six of us, we all ate too and everyone was very impressed, though the gins are quite expensive it is definitely worth it and food is very reasonably priced. couldn’t recommend enough!

Used a group on voucher for food. There were 8 of us. Michael served us. He recommended what gins to drink. Just amazing place. Great service. Will definitely be back.

This place is unique and decorated like you wouldn’t believe from grass on the ceiling to walls of flowers. The gin menu is substantial! The menu is varied enough. My husband had a pulled pork burger which he devoured and I had an onion and steak pie. Yes onion and steak- more onion than steak which I couldn’t eat although the pastry was nice. Will definitely return but not have the pie

Whole place needs a clean, smells of gas canister heaters and the burger was gross. Go anywhere else.

We found this place by chance but wow the gin list is fab. Me and my friend tried quite a few on the menu. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is very quirky and even outside the garden would be lovely on a summers day. We didnt eat but the food did look tempting. Would definitely be back if ever in Wolverhampton again.

Previous reviews made us a bit nervous of visiting however thought we we would give it a go and glad we did, good atmosphere, excellent drink selection especially gins and the food was good especially the triple stack burger.

Terrible service, hideous meals.

Last week we had our Christmas party here- we had the ‘gold party package’ at £15 per person and bought 80 people to The Grain Store for what we thought would be a great night. Unfortunately this was not the case...

We had our office Christmas lunch here last Friday and we were all so looking forward to this venue. Upon arriving at the place it seemed busy with other Christmas party people.... We tried to order a round of drinks and put them on a tab only to be told that we couldn't do that as they don't have tabs due to people doing a runner!! We were a party of 7 middle aged office workers we were not looking like we were planning on doing a runner was we?? The guy accommodated us with a better seating area, originally we perched upon chemistry lab stools but as soon as another party finished we were given that table. We orders a mixed plate of starters, which to be honest was nice, while eating these the waitress asked us to order our main which we did, however the wait for these was in excess of one hour, one hour for seven meals in a pub that I saw only had three other customers & I don't think they were all eating? When the meals came they were in some cases cold or barely warm but we had waited that long we really didn't feel like complaining. The food tasted very nice and you could see that the ingredients we above par, but it was just in some cases cold and beyond belief poor service because by then, when we did try to state how long the meals had taken it was responded to with a shrug of the shoulders by the staff. Now I know why I believe they kept us waiting this was due to 3 lads being in our party all drinking pints of "so-so" lager and that in itself is a reason as I see to keep people waiting especially as I said by then we one group of only 3 other customers. The ironic thing of this visit is we actually persuaded a number of our colleagues to change the venue this year for our meal, and as I had eaten there before all be it many years ago I suggested this place!! we wont be going there again, sorry it was on the whole a great chance for us to have a good extended chat with each other but the wait and overall service was at best poor...…!

Nicely decorated for Christmas, The Grain Store was quiet on Sunday at 4pm. I ordered a vegetarian burger which was divine and had a lovely pudding which was a waffle/apple crumble with custard! Yum! We sat in the back room on lovely old leather chairs and had a very chilled time.

My friends and I went here last weekend, we had a fantastic night only thing that spoilt the night was the service and the attitude of some of the staff, the staff working on the bar do not serve people in turn, then When you do get served they short measure the drinks and this was on more than one occasion. Then to top the evening off, we brought a round of drinks and put them on the table, (only taking a couple of sips) the next thing we knew the glasses had been cleared, if this is the companies way of making people spend more, sorry all you will do is annoy people after the spend nearly a tenner on a drink.

Attended the Harry Potter themed evening, arrived in fancy dress and was impressed with the layout. We were seated outside and l went to get some drinks from the cocktail shack. Unfortunately this turned to half an hour of blatantly being ignored by the lad making and serving drinks. He proceeded to continue to serve anybody and everyone before me, mostly girls. When my friends came over to see what was going on, he then proceeded to "accidentally" knock an entire carton of fruit juice onto us. Which caused him to finally notice us and offered to serve us next. Very poor service, and the lad serving needs some learn some basic manners, not just there to try and impress girls.

Popped in for lunch on a weekday. Our order was taken and we waited, and waited, and waited. In the meantime we enjoyed a lovely latte and continued to wait. So I chased up the meal, profuse apologies. Beef pie with mash and mushy peas. I have never (but then, I'm only 70) had a harder pie, and my wife's was worse. Like shortbread only much denser and very very heavy. Filling was just lumpy gravy, mash was Cadbury's Smash or catering equivalent and peas were 1/2-tin mushy peas each. Plates were steel enamel and so misshapen that they spun on the table like frisbees. £15-15. We went on to McDonald's, never to return.

Wouldn’t go here even if it was my last choice. £10 for a freshers event when it wasnt advertised as this price, advertised as £5. Couldn’t fit in any of the 3 rooms and no room in the smoking area. At least 30 minutes queue for the bathrooms they have (only 2!). As a student this is completely unacceptable. Will not be returning and will be telling others of how completely absurd grain store is.

We wasn't impressed with the immature attitude of a member of the team when a drunken female had to be removed from the premises. It was a shame really, because most of the staff were on the ball.

I visited Grainstore the other week with my partner, we approached the bar and got served by a young lady who had said she was training, I thought she was very polite and was calm considering she wasn’t only training. I had noticed other colleagues behind the bar all stood there talking instead of helping the young lady out, they had snapped and were shouting demands at her to get food which I thought was very unprofessional, especially in front of a queue of customers. I had then recieved my food which was brought over by a man, he did not smile or say anything when giving us our food which I thought was rude... I can only describe the food as vomit on a plate, I wasn’t sure if it was my own after eating cardboard or if they had a toddler preparing the food.

Its a good venue for drinks- well priced and has a good atmosphere.

I see other reviewers have had a similar experience with poor service. The food was good and nicely presented, the drink range was very good, but the service was decidedly lacking. Starters ordered at the bar with drinks were received in good time, the dishes were cleared and we had to go to the bar again to get the mains ordered. These were a little slow to arrive. The waiter taking away the mains took the dessert orders, when after some time these had not appeared and this waiter was nowhere in sight, we found someone else to query where the desserts were. She came back and said they had not been ordered but she was unable to take the order and would send someone who could. By now we were running short of time and when the third person came and took the order she took three attempts to get it right. The food did just about arrive in time for us to eat it before we had to leave but was far more rushed than it should have been.

Visited here for the 1st time with an old friend, service is a bit lax from the barman taking the order to him just walking off leaving a girl to finish pulling our drinks who then tried to charge us again. We ordered 2 steak and ale pies chips and mushy peas, the food arrived about 15 mins later, then the waitress disappeared to get our cutlery and was gone so long we had to hunt her down as the food was getting cold. She was chatting to the barman !!!! Apart from that the food was lovely and huge portions. The garden is so relaxing and you forget your in a busy town center with hanging baskets everywhere and lots of qwerky stuff dotted about. Abit like an outside lounge, we enjoyed visiting and would not hesitate to go again even though the staff could just be a little more attentive.

First time visit here. Waited ages to be served only one person serving and they were learning. Gave my order person serving didn’t have any idea about gin or how to serve one properly. I get that people have to learn but they literally had no idea what to do. When I was asked to pay it was considerably more than I thought. I queried this he said they were doubles. I didn’t ask for doubles. He had to go and speak to another member of staff who said he had to collect the drinks back throw them away and do new ones!!! I said this was ridiculous and after me complaining it was reluctantly agreed I kept the drinks and pay for what I had ordered but they clearly didn’t want to do this. Sat down chatting and drinking my friend noticed a massive crack in the glass I was drinking from. Then had to wait again to get this changed. Basically understaffed with no training for new staff. First time here and will be last sorry not impressed at all

what a fantastic night. we went out with our friends to celebrate a 30th birthday. you have music in the main bar area and the atmosphere was good and I discovered a door that leads to a really funky enclosed outside area with dj, bar and seating and really quirky decor but it works!! and even better music. great night! everybody was enjoying themselves.

Visited the Grain Store for the first time on Saturday with friends and absolutely loved it!!

This is one of my favourite places in Wolverhampton, the staff are so friendly and welcoming the decor is so quirky and the Gin Signatures are out of this world.

Visited with friends for food and drinks. Our table wasn’t booked even though we’d had confirmation of the booking. We finally found ourselves a table after being put on a dirty table out the front, and were given the menus. We weren’t told we had to order at the bar so when we asked, were told they were no longer serving! They agreed to serve us, brought a burger for a different table, then forgot our cutlery. It was just a shambles.

Oh my God, I called in here as I was on a quick visit to Wolverhampton and it looked ok. I have just been charged £3.85 for a tuna bun! A 20p toasted burger bun with a couple of tablespoons of tuna mayo on it. No lettuce, no garnish, no napkin. The whole thing cannot have cost more than 50p to produce.

I went to The Grain Store and the table wasn’t cleared of empty glasses from the previous people who had used it.So I waited over an hour and moved them myself.I was then told that the drink I wanted,they hadn’t got as they had run...

Me and my partner went for a meal here using a Groupon voucher. I booked a table as stated on the voucher yet when we got there there was no table available and one hasn't been reserved for us?? After ordering drinks we eventually found a table and ordered our food. Included in the voucher was nandos to share, a burger meal and then a dessert. The nachos came and were fine but I they were out of a packet so couldn't go wrong here. The main meal came. I had the Vegas burger and my partner had the Jack the lad burger. They were both swimming in grease to the point where the lettuce and bun had soaked up that much of it it was soggy!!! The chips were really greasy and you got a teaspoon of coleslaw . No joke! The portion size was so small!! I would never eat here again! The only reason I gave 2 stars was because the drinks were lovely. Definatley worth a visit just for the drinks but do not eat here!!!
