It’s really part of the community. Lovely, friendly staff and a great selection of organic food. Superb organic sourdough and always a great selection of fruit and veg. But the one thing that really makes this place are the staff: helpful, friendly and welcoming. It’s our favourite shop in Margate.

Always the best quality ingredients and most delicious food and the coffee is The Best Ever. Staff are really interested in what they are selling or serving and really aim to please. Not overpriced. I picked up a loaf of super sourdough to take home. 9

Stumbled across The Grain Grocer on Northdown Road, Cliftonville, Margate when collecting a ring from the jewellers across the road. We looked around the well-laid out shop (The Grain Grocer not the jewellers). It’s one of those shops that sells produce loose so you need to bring a container if you can, especially for shampoos, peanut butter and other liquids stuff. The foodstuffs are wide-ranging with lots of an organic fruit and veg. Did I mention, it’s an organic shop and coffee shop. (It serves more than coffee but as the menu is mainly soup and salads, it’s hard to call it a fully-fledged restaurant.) We stayed for a bowl of soup and sourdough bread for lunch. The spicy parsnip soup was out-of-this-world. Homemade and spicy (but not over so) the soup was filling. My wife had to have half of her serving put in a takeaway cup as she couldn’t finish it all at one go. The staff at The Grain Grocer are friendly, helpful and with a sense of humour. They made the day so pleasurable that we’ll be going to The Grain Grocer again.

Stopped in for drinks with the kids when visiting the area. They loved the fresh and creative smoothies and hot cocoa. Wonderful to give them something good for them that they also enjoyed.

We used to visit GG shop in the previous location ...but the new shop lost its rustic charm...something is gone. Not sure what. Maybe the decor maybe the feng shui, it feels bare, and the vibe is just not the same. It will sound weird but this side of the road is in constant shadow and it makes it cold / sorry.

It’s always a pleasure to come to this charming little shop, sipping one of their amazing smoothie and choosing among their carefully selected products. Nice staff and very relaxed atmosphere

A wonderful 'oldie-worldie' shop with fantastic produce, all organic, eco-friendly and refill - it really is an experience. The cafe food and drinks are sublime and the staff are always ready to help and offer their expertise. I love eating guilt-free food!

Think they have stopped serving meals as such but still do coffees and vegan sweet treats. I buy my sourdough bread from here, they have deliveries on Tuesdays and Thursdays, about 4 or 5 different kinds and they're delicious! Have had their raw Brownie twice now...yummy!

This is one of my favourite places in Margate. A wonderfully friendly team run this brilliant cafe and shop on the diverse and vibrant Northdown Road, where all the different populations of the town seem to mix and thrive. Great quality coffee and teas, freshly-made juices, scrummy healthy nibbles (sadly they’ve stopped doing their delicious salads), funky wooden tables and chairs and bar stools if you want to sit in the window and watch the world go by. There’s a large selection of organic goods for sale: fresh fruit and vegetables, grocery items, household products too: and they sell as much as they can (pulses, cereals, dried fruits, nuts, teas, herbs and spices etc) by weight in recycled paper bags, doing everything they can to be as eco-responsible as possible. I look forward to my every visit.

Great lunch and coffee - and all organic - which really is a bonus in a good food wilderness. Yes it looks a bit hippyish and I must admit drinking your juice from a jam jar might be a step too far for me but the Red Leicester and tomato chutney on toast was fabulous. Generous proportions, lovely flavour - very tasty. Kitchen looks a bit chaotic but not dirty as previous reviewer has mentioned - have they looked at the tables in Costas? Highly recommended if you are into healthy, different food. One warning though - put more than an hour on the parking ticket if you are driving - service can be a bit slow!

What a great place to not only go to for your pantry essentials (seriously, if you're still buying your grains and pulses in supermarkets you need to check this place out) but also to go for a cuppa or a smoothie with friends and family. I particularly like the strawberry fields smoothie and they do lovely, nutritious lunches - to have in or take away. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating even though it can get very busy. If you ask a question they will make the time to answer you so that you can take the information home and apply it. I believe they also offer themed evenings but I have yet to try them.

Great place for some lovely organic food with a range of tasty options. I am slightly addicted to their nut butter sourdough toast! When in need of a treat or have friends down to visit, the Grain Grocer is a must for a fresh, healthy meal.

This amazing little cafe is the best. Delicious home cooked food that is packed full of goodness and is affordably priced. Fantastic shop in the back with all the most interesting and beneficial ingredients stocked. Best meal eaten in Margate by a mile. It's a little off the main drag so make sure you seek it out. It's definitely worth it.

Wow - what an incredible place. To find a venue that is run by so many inspiring like minded people is simply incredible. They are so knowledgable about the different foods and so clever with their flavours. I've been introduced to a whole new world of flavours and ingredients. If anyone wants to become healthier I cannot recommend this place highly enough! And before I forget you have to try the turmeric latte with almond milk!! If you haven't been GO!

I popped into The Grain Grocer with my family for a drink and ended up seduced by this wonderful space. This is a cafe that offers amazing home made food, nut butters, smoothies and other tasty treats. You can buy nuts etc by weight, artisan breads, cheese, soaps, the list goes on. There is something for everyone.

They sell everything by the weight....so if you have a recipe and you need a certain amount of something, seeds, grains, nuts, etc etc etc then come here. You weigh out the amount you want. Trouble is its addictive as what happens is you see things that you haven't heard of and look it up and want to use it lol. It is organic and healthy and just great. They serve coffees and teas and some amazing home made goodies. I took the children there today, not sure how they were going to like it.....my son loved the homemade peanut cookie and they both had the purple rain smoothie which was delicious. My daughter fell in love with the homemade mango balls and I was so pleased that she tried and loved them and she wants to go back...yes! Look on line if you are unsure what they do as they have a good comprehensive list but there is so much more in store. Very worth a visit....

Plus points: the food is healthy, vegetarian fare with a decent selection of salads and homemade hummus. The smoothies we had were great as was the ambience and friendly staff. We found the menu limited though, and the mushroom/bread savoury cake looked interesting, but it didn't really taste of anything and wasn't savoury. Giving four stars because the salads were great. :)

Felicity’s Cafe at Quex in Birchington is an absolute gem. Picture this—you roll up to this quaint little spot, and from the second you walk in, it’s got that vibe. Friendly, warm, like you’re part of the family. We’re talking fresh, local ingredients that just hit differently. The coffee? Smooth. The cakes? Sweet but not too sweet. Service? Spot on. The folks here treat you right, not in some fake, scripted way. You can tell they care, like they want every dish to be a hit, and let me tell you—it is. You want cozy, comfort, and quality all wrapped up in one? Felicity’s Cafe nails it.

My friend and I went here for the first time on a weekday lunchtime and found seating downstairs. As all busy upstairs and we didn’t want to sit outside or in the covered walkway to the cinema area. We both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and coffee. I had prawn and avocado sandwich on brown bread with salad and Kent Crisps my friend had smoked Salmon and cream cheese bagel that also came with salad and crisps. The cakes looked very nice but we were a bit full to try them probably will in our next visit. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back!
