Upon arriving in Carlisle we asked in a local shop at the bus station where the best coffee shop was. Just a five minute walk to The Good Sisters. What a lovely little place, I so much prefer these coffee shops to the big name brands. The staff were so good, happy to help. The food was great too. A nice selection, well presented and good quality. I had the Sausage Pattie Brioche Bun. It was tasty and to be recommended. Well done to all 🙂

What a great place! I popped up to the area for a day out and a local shop recommended The Good Sister as the best place to get a coffee. They were not wrong! Great coffee and the food. I’ll be back when I’m local. Friendly staff and good food is always a winner.

Friendly staff, lovely place to sit inside (and outside if the weather is good) and delicious food. Nice to have something a bit different for breakfast (options included frittata, granola, breakfast muffin...). There was also a really good selection of cakes and traybakes. I will definitely come back if I'm in the area again!

We were staying at the Travelodge a few doors down and wanted a different sort of breakfast. I had the granola and my partner had the frittata. Both delicious.. We both thought the coffee could do with being a tad stronger, but that may be personal preference. Friendly, quick service. You could see into the kitchen and lunch wa smelling good so we came back a few hours later to eat again.

My only criticism is that they aren't open every day! Haven't yet tried anything that wasn't amazing, but if I absolutely had to choose, the breakfast frittata muffin and the carrot cake are my favourites. Portions are so generous. They sell lovely extra bits and pieces like bags for life, dog treats, cups and flowers as well. Amazing coffee, friendly service, and some of the loveliest food I've ever had.

This Northerner drifted across this gem by accident and my word it did not disappoint him folks. Upon arrival I was made more than welcome by the lovely ladies who work there. They then ambushed me with the amazing food selection, I made a joke about asking them to read it out again (lol). I went for their new toasted tortilla parcel; a divine mixture of spiced Bombay potatoes, yoghurt mint, pineapple and relish. Fabulous. Coffee brilliant too. Would recommend to a friend and I'll be going back that's for sure.

I have eaten here many times and always found it good value. However the staff I find rather conflicting, brown haired lady very nice and pleasant, blonde lady very rude and not welcoming at all. Shame

I loved the food when they were running it out of a stall in the market, and now they have a proper little place on Cecil St, it's even better, as now there's always somewhere to sit and it's closer to my work too! The food is always scrumptious, the service is always great, and the decor is lovely too. They do fab cakes/tray bakes as well as the tasty dishes and all the cutlery/containers etc. is recyclable/eco-friendly too!I come here for my lunch whenever I get the chance and recommend it to everyone!

Had the falafel salad which was so tasty, could not fault it! My Mam had the salad of the day with Mediterranean veg and hummus, then the roll cake for after both of which she really enjoyed. Thankyou

Visited this stall in the Market Hall in Carlisle. Couldn't resist beef taco which was nicely served in a cardboard box with salad sauces etc. Lots of places to sit down and eat within the market so enjoyed a tasty lunchtime meal for £4.50. Worth a try for something a little bit different.

Vivid the Market in Carlisle to find a brilliant choice of food outlets. The Good Sister was chosen and had a fantastic range of lunch time dishes made fresh. I opted for the falafel box with beautiful salad and rice. Great value for money at £4.00. Very tasty and filling.

What to do with a 45 minute lunch break? Head to the Market Hall, where there are a few choices of places to grab something to eat. So glad I kept going top the far corner where The Good Sister have their unit. I opted for the veggie chilli with rice, cheese and soured cream in a box to go. I perched on a stool and enjoyed the great food and pleasant company.

The sisters here are really nice and offer a wonderful menu of unique food. I am a massive fan of Taco Tuesday which is a great idea, and the flavours are fantastic. Each week there is a new taco flavour to choose from and the portions are very filling! My personal favourite is the chicken and chorizo. I enjoy checking their instagram each week to find out what is on the menu and look forward to enjoying the burritos, veg chilli and of course the cakes! I never feel bad about coming here for lunch as the food is healthy and delicious.

I normally bring my own lunch into work however today I had a half day so met my husband for lunch. He opted for the Greek stall but I've been following this establishment on FB so wanted to try here. I had the falafel box and it was very tasty and filling. It's also a little busy stall so be prepared to wait a wee while. Lovely friendly staff despite to rush hour. I'll be visiting again to try other options in the future.

As the heavens opened around lunch time it was hard to find a table in one of the restaurants/cafes that we usually go to, We decided to take shelter in the old market, until we made up our mind where to eat, we stumbled across this fabulous unassuming eatery, well we were totally blown away with the fresh, tasty, wholesome street food, and what to choose?? it was difficult to narrow it down, it all looked and smelled delicious!! there are a few high bar stools to enjoy your food, or takeaway, there was lots of regulars/ locals who were praising the food( obviously a good sign) both our meals were extreamily good, I choose the special £4 falafel, salad, dips and nachos, very satisfying, my daughter had the burrito £4 and choc n orange brownie which were also very tasty , every thing is cooked and prepared on site with ever changing menus and daily staples, this is certainly a hidden gem of a place, two friendly sisters who have made this there own, I wish them every success though I doubt they need it ( quite a new business) we will defiantly be back.

The Good Sister is a charming, clean, and well-run eatery recently opened by two attentive and attractive sisters with a natural talent on customer care, satisfaction, polite service and a friendly attitude most vendors could learn from. In these economic times, it was a pleasant change to have a vendor display a limited range, focusing not on quantity, but providing an exemplary quality, value and freshness.

Popped in for Taco Tuesday last week, and was very impressed with the latest addition to the market food scene following on from Romanos. Ordered the lamb taco, but unfortunately they had run out of lamb so prepared a delicious alternative. Value for money, will definately be back. Staff friendly and helpful.

Lots of choice, including lots of vegan donuts. Very friendly staff members. We come here quite regularly and normally buy a box of four. Also, some of the best jam filled donuts we've ever had.

Love Adeline’s cafe. The cakes are the best I have had anywhere ever and that’s saying a lot cos I eat a lot of cakes 😂. The host always has a bit of crack with you. The decor is lovely as well. Highly recommend for coffee and a cake or a lunch.

We had a lovely coffee and panini here. Staff were really friendly. The food was great - as was the coffee. There isn't a massive amount of seating but it was stylish and welcoming. They don't take card payments, but there's 3 cash machines close by and they do accept bank transfers (they have free WiFi so you don't need to rely on patchy signal). Would definitely recommend.

Came upon this great cafe while on a day trip to Carlisle, from our weeks holiday in Keswick. Food was excellent - we had ham hero sandwich, bbq panini, bacon Brie panini and gorgeous homemade soup. All tasty- the side salad with the sarny was best side salad I’ve had after a week of cafes lunches in lakes. Nice friendly service🙂
