Went to a party there. Food was cold and atmosphere of this place is dreadful. Plus people dodgy outside. If you love Eastleigh then this is the heart of the activities on what goes on

We cannot believe how lovely the food was, all freshly made, all very tasty, just beautiful. All the staff were very accommodating and attentive, polite and bubbly. Would highly recommend the restaurant, probably one of the best meals I have eaten in A long time. Our complements to the chef!!

Had a roast there today for the first time and I can honestly say it was 5 stars! Definitely my number one choice for Sunday dinner from now on. Service was great too 👍 👌

Celebrating my special birthday with family & friends, Dan, Claire, Ange & their team of bar staff, all provided a Top Professional Service. The food was outstanding and I’ve personally had some amazing feed back from many of my guests. They met all requested needs and more. What a Fantastic Team of hard working staff. Seamless booking via website & texts from kitchen to pre order as was arriving just before last food orders @5.45. One 3 course kids meal & 1 2 course adult £32 + £12 soft drinks. Large portion (crispy pork) came with roast sides & huge yorksire (not what the online menu listed & no menu on table but not unpleasant surprise as was Sunday so roast dinners expected). Yorkshire was overcooked but I enjoyed the crunch with the thick gravy. Roast parsnip felt undercooked & bit tough and roast spuds not crispy on outside or fluffy on inside but ok. Everything was tasty. Pork had great crackling but tough on bottom. Had potential to be a great meal, but was in the end a good one. Was hungry when arrived & not when left & price felt very fair for what you got. Very hot day & last servings so can't fault the kitchen staff. Service very good & did tip. Overall I would return (Kitchen shut Mondays) and was one of the nicer pub meals I've had let down only by potential to be a great one with more consistent levels of cooking.

Had a roast here last Sunday and it was AMAZING! Husband and I had beef, daughter’s partner had the pork and daughter had chicken. The meal was gorgeous, veg cooked to perfection and meat on point. We will be back

Went for dinner with the wife, had the Pan fried Chicken in White Wine Sauce, Roasted New Potatoes and French Beans= 10/10 Great Service, Great Food and most important Great Beer.

Regular vistor to the excellent quiz on a Wednesday. Have had the food many times and it has always been delicious and filling. Staff are always friendly and cheerful.

Good companions has been recommended to me for their food by quite a few friends so decided to try it with my cousin - we both had pan fried chicken, it was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection - we were both very impressed and definitely will go again

I had never been in The Good Companions before but my friends had and they said the food was excellent. Well the 3 of us had the pleasure of dinner Friday night, a really happy atmosphere, brilliant table, the service was excellent by every one of the staff! Not rushed at all and the food was honestly delicious, steak was cooked to perfection and such BIG portions! The presentation was superb, value for money, a really pleasurable visit. Looking forward to next time.

In town for a couple weeks for work. The pub was 10 mins walk from my hotel. The minute I walked in, I was treated like I've been a local for years. Great people, friendly service, clean bar, and prices are good. Nice selection on tap.

The Good Companions roast was recommended to me and I can see why. HUGE portion and very tasty. I went for the lamb shank, a great size and well cooked. We all made the 'mistake' though of having a starter and we struggled to clear our plates, TBH, they could easily half the size of the bread and oil starter and charge the same price, this too was huge. Earlier in the week, we had a few drinks whilst watching the footy and I also had a cheese burger, this too was delicious and well priced, served of course with a great choice of beers.

Great atmosphere for football. 3 indoor and 1 outdoor screen. Shame the football wasn't worthy of the venue. Friendly bar staff.

Claire and Dan run an exceptional pub with such incredible care and attention to detail. We booked the dining area for our mum’s wake and they handled the day with incredible kindness and compassion, going above and beyond , adding their own helpful suggestions. Nothing was too much trouble. We chose an afternoon tea and I would highly recommend it. The standard of food was incredible, we were able to choose our cakes and the cheese scones were out of this world. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. More generally the dining area worked well for people with mobility and gave us convenient access to the garden. And btw the place is sparkling clean too. Thank you so much for looking after us and enabling us to give mum a great send off.

Went in recently for the first time to have some lunch. The food was delicious, the service and helpfulness of the staff was fantastic. We will definitely be returning!

My father’s 88th birthday and couldn’t have had a nicer meal. Bit late for booking but they found us a table. Very generous portions. Good food. Extremely good value. Definitely will be back as Dad lives next door.

We heard that The Good Companions served good food and had recently won multiple awards. We knew that they had a function room which we were looking to hire. We tired out the food and had a roast and it was beautiful so we booked the function room for a surprise party for my Mums 70th birthday. From the offset Landlords, Claire and Dan, were so helpful. They gave us lots of options and were very accommodating. The function room had just had a refurb and it had great character, perfect for what we were looking for. It had its own bar and a quieter area if needed. We had the option of organising the room how we wanted it and were allowed to decorate it too. We had a finger buffett was excellent quality and was presented well and the staff kindly boxed the any left overs. The bar staff were all friendly and were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a great venue and great place for a party or just to have a nice meal in the pub. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely go back and have to try other food on the menu!

I have used the function room twice, once for hot food and once for an afternoon tea buffet and both were amazing. Lovely food, lovely staff and the kitchen are great with allergies. Definitely reccomend

We booked the function room for a family birthday party. Claire and the team were great and really looked after us. Brilliant food, they have a great DJ and of course a good selection of drinks! We all had a great time and they were very accommodating and helpful. We will certainly book again for the next big birthday!

Myself and 2 friends had steak ,mushroom ,chips ,peppercorn sauce last night .. Wow definitely recommend this meal. Generous portion, cooked too perfection.. Staff were excellent. Great pub . Will definitely be back .

In the area did not book but managed to get a table would advise that you book as it got busy Staff pleasant food was of good portions and well presented we had the gammon which was excellent with a very good serving of chips the garlic bread was large enough to serve two people we watched the other meals coming out especially the burgers and they looked very good this is a place not to be missed if you like good hearty food prices was reasonable some of the best pub food had in a long while

We visited 4th April as we have never been in and thought it high time we went. The staff very welcoming and friendly. They explained most things are locally sourced and cooked to order from fresh. We were warned the portion size was on the generous side- lol they weren't wrong 😆 I couldn't finish my scampi n chips. The food was delicious. We would definitely go again

Always great service in a clean environment

We turned up on a Thursday lunchtime, having always lunched on a Sunday before. The Sunday roasts are excellent. The mid week menu has a great choice to suit most palates. The service is efficient and friendly. The food is cooked to order so don’t expect a ‘fast food’ experience! Highly recommend

We arrived a bit early - they don’t start serving food till 6pm. We were well looked after by Josh who let us order a bit earlier.The food was amazing, huge portions, excellent value for money. I’ve heard the roasts are awesome too so will be back soon.

We came to have a Sunday lunch with family. We had roasts with lamb shanks, chicken and pork, while the kids had chicken nuggets and burger, each with chips. Fantastic value for money. Absolutely delicious food, and perfectly cooked. Great service too. Highly recommend.

I just had to write a review as they always cook a good meal here. Ordered Pork Belly x 2 with vegetables and Chips, it's amazing. Always hot and freshly cooked and certainly puts some restaurants to shame. The Pork crackling is the best. For a local pub producing this sort of quality food and at a decent price it needs to be shouted about. Very friendly service always with a smile. 10/10 thank you.

Excellent food and service, one of the best Roasts I'd ever had out, brilliant. Can really understand why they are nice and busy, best to book up early for a table. Highly recommend.

Great food. Friendly staff. Like most pub restaurants these days, it lacks the atmosphere of pubs of old. None the less, it's worth a visit.

We had our work Xmas party upstairs at the Good Companion’s, it was fab. The communication with Claire and Angie made the booking so smooth and the night itself was great, food was plentiful, very hot, tasty and service was also fab. Booked a table for 5 on a Sunday as reviews for the roasts were amazing and wow, it was simply the best meal we’ve had in years and that is no exaggeration. We’ve paid for some very expensive roasts recently in establishments which could learn so much from the Good Companions. Having driven past it for years, we decided to give it a try. Between us we had the beef, chicken and pork belly roast. Everything was cooked perfectly; tender meat, amazing crackling, fresh vegetables which were beautifully presented, and gluten free gravy and Yorkshire puddings were already part of the menu. The portion sizes were just like your Nan used to serve up and the Yorkshires were the size of crowns! The gluten free desserts were brilliant as ice-cream is usually the only option. Every member of staff was delightful and helpful. We cannot rate this highly enough and hope that after reading this review you will book a table with the confidence that you will have a wonderful experience and meal.

Came in last night for a meal, service, 10 out of 10, although we waited for 45 min for our food to arrive, the pork belly with seasonal veg and mash was Amazing. Absolute praise to the chefs. Would 100% be going back.

We held a surprise 70th birthday party in the events room. The night was a big success, everyone enjoyed the food and the bar staff were brilliant, very helpful.

Popped in for food while staying in a nearby hotel, great friendly welcome staff moved the sign so we could park our car, food was amazing even if the portion size was a little large

We had the upstairs function room for our family occasion, our Golden Wedding anniversary. Thirteen of us. We were given the opportunity of pre-ordering, so we did. Plenty of choice. The room was just perfect, tables set out so that we could all chat. Staff were very friendly, professional and attentive but not intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely, compliments to the Chef. (We all had different). Although there were quite a few of us, we all had our food at the same time. So Good Companions, thank you for making our family occasion a fantastic one. We will be back for sure 😁

On way to Southampton airport, stopped for food and to watch rugby. Very welcoming staff, brilliant service. They changed TV channel for me. The service made me feel that I was the only person in the pub. To top it all, big portion of Sunday roast which was very tasty. Thank you Good Companions great end to a brilliant weekend! 👏😁

Lovely food but staff appeared very stressed and hurried, whizzed past us several times before acknowledging us waiting at the bar which wasn't a warm welcome. The food was amazing but make sure you have 3/4 of an hour spare to wait for it. Had to go up to the bar to order more drinks whilst we waited for food, which is fair enough but the bar staff had told us they would come to us! Lovely pub but too many let downs on this occasion.

Went to the Good Companions on Friday night for a Meal and couple of drinks. I had the 8oz Chuck and Short Rib Beef Burger, Chips, Onion Rings, Salad and Home made Coleslaw. The Wife had Chicken, Bacon and Leek Pie, Mash Potato and Veg. Best Meal we've had out in a long time. I've given 5 stars across the board as in my opinion it's worth that.

Just popped in without any planning and was treated to some excellent food. The best pork belly I can remember. The pub was clean and service very attentive. We arrived mid-afternoon on a Friday and it was pretty quiet. Definitely coming back next time we're in the area.

Myself and a friend have visited several times with our babies during the day for food and drinks. We sat in the ‘restaurant’ style area which is nicely decorated. The food is lovely, especially the chips. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Value for money, very easy going. Small kids area out the back so you can have a drink while letting them play. Food is plentiful and reasonably priced. If you’re staying in Holiday Inn in Eastleigh, pop down here for food instead of hotel, you can’t go wrong!!

Really nice pub with classic pub food done well. We were a bit intimidated walking in to the pub with its big "Live Sky Sports" signs but were welcomed as soon as we walked in and were shown around the corner to the nicely decorated restaurant (with no TV's 👍). Service was fast and attentive and was very reasonably priced. I would recommend this as a great stop off.

It is difficult to judge here as I did not spend so much time in this place, however I had a nice Gin tonic there and atmosphere was ok.

We went there today for my birthday lunch (3 adults, 2 teens and a toddler) A warm welcome greeted us, in a spotlessly clean and tidy establishment. Purchased a reasonably priced round of drinks, then sat out back on some benches in the kids play area (a logical idea we thought, placing benches in the kids area). The whole menu looked good, but wow, when the food arrived we were amazed. This was beyond top quality presentation. Good sized portions too. But the taste, phenomenal! You must try the lamb kofta. 6 empty plates, full bellies and happy faces. We had heard of the Companions good reputation and todays visit did not disappoint. A must for anyone desiring exceptionally top quality food, reasonably priced, in a good location with friendly folks running the place. Thanks you Good Companions 👌👍

Had an amazing roast at The Good Companions. Service could have been a bit faster considering it wasn’t too busy, but staff were all lovely! The pork belly was honestly the best roast pork I’ve ever had, and will definitely be coming back!

Stayed at Holiday Inn overnight before cruising. Easy 10 minute walk and both enjoyed excellent, freshly cooked bar meals - and drinks. Service with a smile. Spotless property. Looking forward to a return visit. Highly recommended.
