Steam Town Brew in Eastleigh

Went for dinner with some friends on a Tuesday evening and had a lovely time! Food was delicious, very vibey atmosphere and decoration, and the waitress Kari was WONDERFUL! She was welcoming, friendly and caring. 10/10 recommend.

Bar understaffed on arrival early Sat evening with one person serving and many customers waiting. However the barman maintained a very friendly and amenable attitude. Beer good with a wide choice of cask, keg and bottled. Food better than previously with lovely crispy fries and tasty burger (that was smaller than the bun). Very kind, friendly and attentive waitress. A physically attractive and comfortable venue, however the noise from primarily groups of males was almost unbearable, and made it extremely difficult to hold a conversation. Unclear whether it's the norm for the clientele, or caused by the acoustics of the building. Added to the cacophony was an amplified sea shanty type singing group which seemed wholly inappropriate for the time and venue. I'd certainly go again for good food and beer but wouldn't choose evening time.

Unfortunately a not great experience at Steamtown. We had booked a while in advance but were treated as if we were an inconvenience by the gentleman allocating tables. We were crammed in between a very loud party, another couple making phone calls continuously and a wall, so we had very little room. We left very quickly as frankly we weren't enjoying the evening.

Tonight’s visit to Steam Town was so good. Food brilliant and beer good. Our server kari was outstanding and made us feel so welcome and nothing too much trouble. My only complaint and this has happened on previous visits but tonight by far the worst was that so many loud groups of sweary men all trying to be the alpha male! I think part of the problem is the acoustics in the place that maybe a few soft furnishings would sort out. We just couldn’t hear ourselves speak at times!

Tasty food, great value and excellent selection of drinks. I had the loaded fries which were delicious and the mac cheese as a side. Kari was a great host!

I'm glad we found this place online. Looks like a normal pub from the outside, but inside it's completely different! Cosy bar at the front and then industrial/train style in the restaurant area. The burgers were fantastic and a HUGE selection of beer & cider. They had my favourite Thistly Cross cider which I haven't seen anywhere for ages.

What a gem - we had such a warm welcome from the lovely people behind the bar. Great selection of drinks and cosy atmosphere. I really love the decor too. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to a friend!

This is a place that knows how to look after its customers. The staff are the absolute best and they make you feel so welcome! They really know how to take care of you. The food is incredible and all locally sourced which just adds to the quality of this pub! The choice of drinks is really good and if you’re not into the IPAs etc there is a wide choice of other drinks available! We were lucky enough to book a table for dining when they had one of the fantastic bands playing! Great music, great atmosphere and somewhere I am proud to take family and friends! What a great place. We went there for Beer Knights beer tasting evening as I had heard they had some gluten free beers......some.... they had eight ! They were all really good and the hosts (Catherine & Aaron) were the real brewers so able to answer all of our questions about the beers. Food was also great - Cathy & Liam dealt with my gluten free requirements brilliantly. We will definitely be back....Great evening.

I have never been disappointed with this place. I’ve been visiting this pub since we moved into the area 2 years ago. My experience has always been good, my husband and I either go alone, meet up with friends or family. The service has always been good, efficient and friendly. If you like your ale or cider this place is great. The food is fresh and tasty. They sometimes they have bands on - which can be a bit of a squeeze but they play in the bar so the restaurant area is not effected. You can hire out upstairs for a reasonable amount of money. We did this and held a get together for our neighbours. Fun venue, a good all rounder.

You have to visit Steam Town. We were served by Jerry, never had such a fantastic server, full of energy, a real character and nothing was a hassle. Our food was amazing, perfect for everyone, meat eater, vegetarian and gluten free all catered for! We were very comfortable, the pub is so warm, inviting and unique. But the experience was made all the better thanks to Jerry. Highly recommend eating here!

I went to Steamtown this evening, for possibly the sixth or seventh time, and every time it has been lovely, but a friend has just suggested that I send a review: I’m not a particularly TripAdvisor review person, but in this instance, I think it’s worth it. You’ve got a beautiful brewery and pub, with an interesting and original decor, which serves its own beers and many others, but much more beyond that, and I think it has captivated people from all kinds of backgrounds in the area. Aside from the lovely beers that they produce , they do really good food, but beyond that, you have fabulous, attentive and warm service: you ask for a slight change to the food, and that change you get, and it is done with a smile, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world to do : it is for them, I think they enjoy serving people. Good beer, good food, great atmosphere, human warmth: surely the epitome of what we like.

We started our studio's Christmas celebrations at Steam Town Brewery. We hired the event space which was really funky with full tech available for our presentations. We then had a beer tasting session and an amazing burger lunch. The team at Steam Town were really accommodating and friendly. A great venue.

The best pub in Eastleigh! Live music is always fun. Burgers and dirty fries (what more could you ask for)...oh yeah amazing beers and ciders! Vg and Gf catered for too. Just wish it was bigger because it is so popular it is always busy. Booking in advance recommended.

Excellent choice of in-house cask ales and ciders. Dog friendly, still table service and you can book. 2022 Still dog friendly, it's much busier in the evenings, it's now a proper sociable pub again. The in-house beers are still excellent. The ciders were disappointing the last visit, especially if you want a cider that tastes of apples. The food is perfect high-carb beer accompaniment, assorted burgers and fries. Seating is less than perfect if it's comfort you seek. Inside is air conditioned and recommended, but unless you nab the tables in the far corner you perch on a high stool. Outside is picnic benches with a choice of adjacent to the road or the kitchen exhaust. Fine if you don't mind thr smell of chips. The staff, and clientele for that matter, are genial. The barman is especially helpful, even when you've failed to read the six foot high blackboard detailing his offerings for the evening. Despite the cider failure when we visited it's still an excellent pub.

Used the upstairs function room for an afternoon meeting and buffet. Excellent service ,good communication before the event. Loads of food for the buffet ,friendly staff.

Excellent craft beer pub and brewery in Eastleigh. It's convenient to get to, just a short walk from the station. Just head over the rail bridge as you walk out and it's about five minutes stroll. Well worth it too- it's a lovely, well designed bar and brewery/restaurant. You can just roll in and get a beer in the main bar or get seating in the restaurant part. It's clean, well kept and has some fun design features. The beer is excellent- had a pils which was as described and good value. They rotate different ones and have the latest selection on a blackboard by the bar for you to peruse. The staff are friendly, efficient and do a good job. Place is well run obviously. Can't really say anything bad about it, it's well worth a trip. Loved the train seats in the restaurant part too.

Great place for a beer. Staff friendly and really good service., sadly the food let it down ,frozen chips and the burgers taste better in McDonalds for a fraction off the cost. The macaroni cheese was solid absolutely disgusting. Won’t eat here again

Lovely food and ambience, come hear once a week for singing practice though I feel my experience with the service has soured very quickly given a new staff face at the bar I have seen. Despite all other staff members being excellent, he overarches them completely with his ego and jobs-worthiness. My friends and I came as a three one evening (one of them I buying alcohol) and the other ACCIDENTALLY sipping one of them ONCE AND ONLY ONCE (the drinks looked pretty similar) having no ID and NONE of us immediately were served anymore that evening, NOT EVEN SOFT DRINKS! At least one of the other more sensible staff members gave her a refund. And yet the guy claimed they would be shut down by licensers, well his attitude could have led to that already and there were no licensers there!! Complete abuse of power leading to a painful reduction in rating, which I will hear no more justification about. Thank you regardless to everyone else who gave us wonderful and reasonable hospitality.

Booked a table for 3 late Sunday afternoon. On arrival we were very warmly greeted, shown to our table and handed menus. Drinks order taken quickly followed by our food order. Both my wife and son had a double burger, one with cheese and both ordered house fries. My choice was the Southern Fried Chicken burger with house fries. The food arrived approx 20 mins later, freshly cooked and absolutely yummy. We ordered desserts, for me chocolate fudge cheese cake and my son ordered the most expensive dessert on the menu which was the chocolate brownie. This was certainly value for money and not what I expected, yes I will be back. THIS PLACE IS A MUST TO VISIT. Great food and service 10/10

Nipped in after a long Sunday walk. Amazing beer (recommend the steamtown stout) and glorious salad- choose this if you go. I'm totally omnivorous but opted for the V version of this salad as it sounded and tasted so delicious. Filled me up- couldn't finish it but felt healthy and nutritious all the way. Explosive flavours.

We had a lovely burger 🍔 . Staff were very friendly and we were able to taste an ale before ordering. First class service . Would recommend we had a great evening.

So good! In these weird times Steam Town still delivers. Friendly service, great food and top notch beer. Also challenging 7bone in Portswood for the dirtiest fries in Hampshire, a great contest that I'm proud to be an unofficial judge for :)

I was brought here by a family member who loves the place and was keen to show it off. He is rightly proud of it - I loved the range of beers which I was able to sample with a paddle of 3 beers. The decor is unusual but interesting - mix of industrial and rustic and the locals gave a warm welcome. It looks to be a great place to eat too with a tasty looking menu available which I'll work through next time. I thought the first class train seats gave a unique feel for those eating. I can see that there is a full programme of events here from bands to beer tours - all in all it has to be on your list of places to experience if you're in the area. I will be back.

Brilliant, popped in for a swift few after going to Eastleigh Lakeside railway with our little one. Made to feel welcome, excellent beers on tap brewed on site. We will return to try the food, love the ex BR mk 2 seats in the restaurant area, as a train buff this raised a smile for me! Update August 2023, been back for food as well this time! Everything spot on an easy 10/10 from us.

Had a lunchtime family meal today, we were well looked after by our host Seb. Very friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere. Great food options for both young and older. Re-visit is definitely on the cards even if just for their mega milkshakes and whisky cider.

Was going to head to Five Guys but found Steam Town and very glad I did. Great venue, friendly staff and great food. Will try the beers when I come back without children.

Very rare to give a 5* review but I found nothing I didn't like about Steam Town. A fine selection of beers some brewed on site and a great American styled menu worthy of "Denny's".. A 2 minute walk from the train station puts Steam Town on the list for many visits. Top tip... Order a flight of beers or 2 and choose your favourite.

Went out for a couple of drinks and some food, it’s was really busy for a Monday but the gentleman behind the bar (Radar) was very quick and friendly really made the experience! He listened to what we wanted and was very knowledgeable and recommended...

Went here for a sunday lunch catch up with a friend. Fantastic food and the atmosphere was so welcoming (even had live music downstairs when we were leaving). Served by Radar and Seb (I hope I got that right guys!) who were both delightful. 100% will come back here again

Huge range of drinks and amazing friendly service, I asked for a drink I thought I'd like (should've asked for a taste first!) but didn't like it, they suggested I put lemonade in it and completely changed the drink, didn't ask for anything else Really good service, couldn't have asked for anything else!

Visited two evenings and the venue was busy both times so it may be wise to book a table if there's a few of you. My advice....come and check this place out!!!

A friendly welcome and the food was simple but well cooked and presented. We chose standard burgers but we'll try some of their specialities next time.

Visited Steam Town Brew Co with my partner and had the Korean Fried Chicken Burger and Stoke Pale Ale and both were excellent and I would thoroughly recommend both.

Only visited a handful of times now, but each time has been very pleasant. Many beers brewed on site, so you won't be queuing for standard Wetherspoons pißwasser (and the fact it's not Spoons also play heavily in its favour). Friendly staff, great atmosphere, fine beers selection, nice food... What more could one possible hope for from a beer house? Top tip: try the chilli cheese fries... Delicious!

Food good, though surprised food order not taken at table in dining area when the establishment was otherwise pretty empty. Staff pleasant but, despite their youth, they appeared to know more about beer flavour than the paying customer and refused to change one old, flat...

Great Beer and atmosphere. The Baltic Porter was excellent and the Whiskey Cider likewise. We really came to see an old mate but it helps this bar is at the end of his road!

I hosted my partner's 30th party in the function room upstairs back in November, which was absolutely brilliant. Cathy, who I dealt with for the booking and finer details, was always super helpful and accommodating. She allowed us early entry to set up a photobooth and decorations. The evening ran very well and the food was delicious - I was amazed at how tasty the vegan options were, especially the vegan burger! Many thanks all.

A popular alternative venue to the run of the mill high street pubs. I have always found Steam Town to serve excellent food with an excellent range of drink choices too. Always new ales, beers, lagers on tap. Nice little railway touches such as several...

Steam Town is the best local burger place near me, probably the best burgers in Eastleigh and Southampton. The burgers are generous and come in different styles, the dirty fries are also a must have. Other than the food, Steam Town is actual working brewery, which means you can view the facility when at the bar/restaurant. Among other drinks, they provide their own IPA, Lager and Ale on tap or you can purchase by the can. There are regular live music acts which is a must see, as there isn’t a stage – you are quite literally eating and drinking with the bands as they play between tables.

Great place for all types of larger, ipa's, bitters, and then the great burgers and dirty fries. Had our footy do there 22 upstairs great service, food and drinks, highly recommended. Thanks kathy and Rachel.

Awesome place. I’ve never had a bad meal from here, the burgers are absolutely banging. They have a massive selection of beers (and GF beers) and the staff are all super friendly. Highly recommend eating and or drinking here if you’re looking for somewhere to go
