Steam Town Brew in Eastleigh

We were planning on coming here for lunch anyway because it’s always great, but saw they had a new bottomless wings option on Thursdays so had to give it a go. Wings were big and cooked great with tasty sauces. I managed 21, but will do more next time! Service from Jerry was brilliant, can’t wait to go back!

Perfect in every way - the best gluten free food (and choice) I've ever eaten.

A very popular pub, justifiably so. Excellent choice of in-house cask ales and ciders. Dog friendly, there are tables in the bar as well as the restaurant where you can book. The in-house beers major on hoppy pale ales but there are lovely malty ones too, Firebox is especially recommended, as well as stouts. Some very god guest ales too.. The ciders vary from good quality Apple cider, assorted fruit ciders and some weird ones like whisky and rhubarb flavoured. Occasional exotic brews like sours are on keg as well. The food is perfect high-carb beer accompaniment, assorted burgers and fries. And, there's always a cheesecake of the week. Seating is less than perfect if it's comfort you seek, mostly stools in TV e bar with a couple of tables with chairs. There's also live music of some sort two or three nights a week.

Literally my favourite bar/restaurant… and always great food, always great beer… and whatever time you go there’s an atmosphere. Load of live music too. It’s just a fun place to be, if you haven’t been you need to… 😂

First time here but mum and dad come before and recorded it, so went here for a quick lunch all the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, special mention to Cathy/Kathy who served us, and to the chef who ever cooked our loaded nachos and Kentucky saddler best burger and nachos we ever had sadly we didn’t finish it all because we ordered too much but we had our fill by the end of it and we will be coming back for desserts, and a brewery tour, and wanted to thank everyone else as well had a fab time and good atmosphere and style.

A contemporary, independent brewery, bar and dining establishment close to Eastleigh town centre. The emphasis is on sourcing locally where possible and being a hub for the community without being too worthy about it, which is brilliant. Nice staff, good mix of customers. Lots of cask and keg beers available, ciders and spirits. The food is great too. Major sports events are shown and there is an upstairs bar and room which can be hired.

Amazing! Found it by chance whilst working nearby, and they fitted me in on a busy lunchtime. The nicest and most helpful staff, a great vibe and fab food, thank you.

We’ve always loved Steam Town as a pub, but hiring Up the Junction for our event completely exceeded expectations! The space was perfect, and the whole team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Liam and Cathy looked after us brilliantly from start to finish, making sure everything was just right. Steve ran the bar like a pro, keeping everyone topped up with no waiting around. And the food? Absolutely spot on—Rhys nailed it! The entire team mucked in, creating a fantastic atmosphere and making it a truly special night. If you're looking for a great function space with top-notch service, amazing food, and a cracking pub atmosphere, this is the place. Can’t recommend it highly enough! Thanks guys ❤️

Nice place to have a craft ale and a cider. The selection is really good and the staff care, offering to help you with suggestions. Felt very welcome here and the service is friendly. They have lots of food here but didn’t get any this time.

The rudest, most aggressive manager I have ever encountered in hospitality and will never visit again (staff were great and were frankly embarrassed). Regular visitor; Booked for drinks and snacks for my birthday with friends; booked table of 6 but 4 other friends arrived and asked to move to a larger table; explained to bar staff immediately that we would be having snacks and drinks and checked this was ok; she said it was; was then approached by man who said he was the manager; he was exceptionally aggressive and rude, demanded to know who booked, then said we’d stolen business because we’d taken a table (despite room being largely empty); said ‘one of you has text your friends to say there is space up here’; said we’d ’breached to booking policy’ - utterly bizarre behaviour and the rudest treatment I’ve ever experienced in hospitality - We spent somewhere north of over £200 - manager needs to understand this is a choice not an entitlement - we will never visit again.

Great beers and friendly staff. The small amount of food we’ve had was also good. Based on that, we ordered beers for a friends birthday prestent on line and collected them while’s there. But you charged for postage even though we said collection and you had them ready when we came in. We explained this to the manager at the time, and emailed, but no response to the email and not exactly helpful while we were there. We’ve still given 2 stars, as the place was busy and you had limited time to help, but the advise to deal with the shipping company was clearly wrong, and we’ve had nothing from you since. UPDATE 28/11/24. Thankyou for coming back to us and resolving the issue. Of course we'll still be coming to your great pub/brewery! We still come for drinks on a Tuesday after dancing to your lovely pub.

went for a drink on friday last month and it was lovely. All the staff were really welcoming and the food was great. It did take some squeezing through to get to the bar but its always busy in here but, i understand why, they definitely need more locations!!!

Superb evening all round this last Wednesday. Started with very deicious meals, served by two very well trained amiable ladies, should have taken their names.( Table 3, I think, at 7:15) Sorry. Pleasantly surprised at the prices too. After which we joined in with the musical extravaganza that is your popular Open Mike Night, again, superbly managed by Jim. Thank you so much. And from friend Corinne whose birthday it was.

I visit here regularly, and once again, everything was perfect. Our server, Lewis, went above and beyond to ensure we had a great seat and kept our drinks topped up throughout the visit. Consistently excellent service like this is why I'll definitely be coming back!

Visited steam town for the first time today and had a wonderful time. The selection of beer vast and delicious, including a brilliant peach sour. The food here is hearty and great value for money. This whole visit was topped off by a brilliant service from wonderful staff, with a special thank you to Lewis.

Best place to grab a drink in Eastleigh with some music on most nights!

I love this place… What’s not to love about this place?, excellent food, great selection of draft ales and beers on draft and the best service from awesome people that make you feel genuinely welcome, despite my dogs spilling their water bowls all over the floor, for the second time. I visited mid afternoon on a Saturday with my 4 dogs (yes, 4) and I was made to feel like absolute royalty as were my dogs. I ordered coleslaw, double stacked burger and the large seasoned fries.. all of which were so moorish and just perfect in every way. I ordered a budvar but was upsold / offered their home brew lager which was really nice… My dogs were provided with fresh water and dog treats and lots of attention by more than just one member of staff, which is always such a warmly received gesture as 4 dogs is a lot, and it’s always a worry taking them anywhere as most people are tolerant of 1 or 2… but 4… yeah, not so much. I love this place, it’s freakin awesome, I’d shout to anyone how great it is, how nice the food is and how welcoming the staff are… Highly recommended

Excellent craft beer pub and brewery in Eastleigh. It's convenient to get to- only a short walk from the station. Just head over the rail bridge as you walk out and it's about five minutes stroll. Well worth it too- it's a lovely, well designed bar and brewery/restaurant. You can just roll in and get a beer in the main bar or get seating in the restaurant part. It's clean, well kept and has some fun design features. The beer is really good - had a pils which was as described and good value. They rotate different ones and have the latest selection on a blackboard by the bar for you to peruse. The staff are friendly, efficient and do a good job. Place is well run obviously. Can't really say anything bad about it, it's well worth a trip. Loved the train seats in the restaurant part too.

Excellent for food and craft beer

Since eating here over a year ago the food has definitely gone down hill. Too much sauce used on basket chip options beef patty very bland, I don’t think it’s worth the price in comparison to say a similar food establishment like 7bone the quality of ingredients is not as good as it used to be. More on par with Drip burger, however the choice of cider and ales is awesome. Kari, the waitress was amazingly helpful and clearly had too much to do, I hope she is paid well for her service.

Great experience during our last visit. Food was fantastic. I went for the San Fran veggie burger and added bacon 🤣 Jerry was a fabulous host, very attentive and great with the kids. Would recommend :)

First time visit after go-karting nearby. Wednesday night. Lively place with a quirky feel. Quite unique place. Food is all burgers, fries etc but good if you like that. Great selection of burgers etc, but also quite an extensive range of beers and wines. It was an open mic folk night (I think) so lots of people with instruments playing music having a great time making a great atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Tried a couple of beers and their Mac Cheese. Beers were good. Lovely live Irish music when I was there. Good atmosphere. Wouldn't have the mac cheese again but the beer was very drinkable 👍

Microbrewery with good beer, great food and lovely people. All of the food is amazing, my favourites here are the loaded fries, any of them as they're all good, and the mac and cheese. Be adventurous with the beer here as its worth it.

Brilliant place, lovely people and great atmosphere. It was very busy, I think the staff need more help. But people like it which is why it is so busy.

Had our anniversary meal here this week. Food was lovely and for a coeliac like me, really reassuring and gluten free! They also had GF Milk Stout on draught which was amazing too. Finally, service was prompt and Kari was really friendly as well as helpful with choosing GF dishes. Will be returning next month for the wife's birthday.

Service was good and the food tasted ok but it was £10 for this plain burger on its own. Very small and nothing too it. Would have expected to at least have some salad. I also had fries which were £2.50 but the worst was a lime and soda which was £3.50!!! Most places charge £1 for that!!! Feel a bit ripped off.

Our friends recommended this place as a good option for us to go out as a 4some for dinner. What I did not know was that they had never been there. We arrived and entered the bar area. It is fairly rough and ready in appearance. The clientelle were of a more mature age. The band was pumping out a fair volume of good live music. We were ushered through to the restaurant area. It is quirky. I like that. This place is quite literally over the road from what used to be a huge railway engineering depot. We were sat in what used to be first class seats from the good old HST. The food was excellent. The menu was good. The waitress - Kari - was engaged and engaging. We had a great meal, a lovely experience - enhanced by Kari - and will be returning.

Have eaten here a few times and the atmosphere and food is excellent. Recent customer service has been top notch. I booked onto an event for an England game where payment upfront was required. I had to cancel the day of the event due to personal circumstances. Steamtown fully refunded me and my partner after the event without prompt. thanks again

After a 6 hour drive a man (and his wife and stepson and our puppy) need substance and beer. We visited on a Friday night (footy Germany v Spain) and it was busy unsurprisingly however the staff made us very welcome and found us a table for food. I can’t recommend the West Coast IPA enough and the food was great! Apparently the Disco Fluff lager was good too 😎 Second visit and can’t recommend this place enough, good beer, good food and fantastic staff - well done on achieving this!

Really enjoyed my (albeit brief) session. Pint of their NZ pale with burger and chips. The staff were very friendly and pub has bags of character.

Great selection of ales and ciders. Helpful and knowledgeable staff who are happy to offer guidance. Tell them what you like and they'll recommend something. Had food too, great burger and dirty fries. Didn't book and they squeezed us in. Great service. Really close to Eastleigh train station. Hop on the train for a great night.

Coeliac/gluten free food review: Great gf choice and separate fryer. We sat in the bar (as opposed to the restaurant) and were assured before ordering that the gf food is cooked in a separate fryer. About half of the menu is gf or has a gf alternative including fried chicken, burgers, dirty fries and loaded tater tots. They also do gf kids options and some vegetarian and vegan food. Dessert wise there is only ice cream for gf, but we were stuffed so dessert was not needed (I had the gf chicken strips, my OH had a burger and we shared loaded tater tots). They have a good drink selection including gf beer, and outdoor seating so we finished our drinks in the sun. The staff did say they try their best to ensure the safety of gf/allergens including a separate gf fryer, although they said they have a small kitchen so can’t 100% guarantee (but I find most restaurants say this, even those which are coeliac UK accredited). I had no problems (being a coeliac myself) so I would recommend.

Was in Eastleigh for just the 1 night, saw the reviews of Steam Town and had to visit. It did not disappoint the K.F.C burger was outstanding as well as the 2 beers I sampled. Couldn't recommend enough, if ever back in Eastleigh will be paying another visit 5 ⭐

Excellent burgers and beers and lovely staff. Although it was a really busy night the staff managed to get us a table. We were very impressed with how we were looked after by Kari and her new trainee. Kari was the perfect host very friendly and very attentive checking with us that everything was alright, thank you.

If you love the gourmet burger experience then this is the place! A short walk from the station and ideally located as a watering hole or as somewhere for a sit down meal. There's bound to be something to suit everyone's taste. The staff are super welcoming and have got the balance down for just the right amount of attentiveness. Great selection of beer, ale and cider. A good number of which are brewed on site. There is also live music on some nights.

Went for dinner with some friends on a Tuesday evening and had a lovely time! Food was delicious, very vibey atmosphere and decoration, and the waitress Kari was WONDERFUL! She was welcoming, friendly and caring. 10/10 recommend.

Great beer, plenty of GF beer for those who need it. Cool vibe.

Bar understaffed on arrival early Sat evening with one person serving and many customers waiting. However the barman maintained a very friendly and amenable attitude. Beer good with a wide choice of cask, keg and bottled. Food better than previously with lovely crispy fries and tasty burger (that was smaller than the bun). Very kind, friendly and attentive waitress. A physically attractive and comfortable venue, however the noise from primarily groups of males was almost unbearable, and made it extremely difficult to hold a conversation. Unclear whether it's the norm for the clientele, or caused by the acoustics of the building. Added to the cacophony was an amplified sea shanty type singing group which seemed wholly inappropriate for the time and venue. I'd certainly go again for good food and beer but wouldn't choose evening time.

I have been here twice and I always had a superb experience. The bar staff are wonderful; extremely helpful and happy to guide you through the extensive list of options, unafraid of serving a free sample to ensure you like it, and what is more important with a smile! The environment was clean to high standards and on both occasions, there was pleasing live music playing which just enhanced the experience. The food also looks amazing... In short, I highly recommend this location!

Unfortunately a not great experience at Steamtown. We had booked a while in advance but were treated as if we were an inconvenience by the gentleman allocating tables. We were crammed in between a very loud party, another couple making phone calls continuously and a wall, so we had very little room. We left very quickly as frankly we weren't enjoying the evening.

Shame I don't get here too often. A great little place, ideal for the real connoisseur of good ale. Railway and bus stations well within walking distance, so no need to drive there. If you haven't already, go here and enjoy.

Drew gave us a great experience tasting all the differnent beers available since we didn't know what to get. The atmosphere and decor is great. The food came promptly and was tasty, very fair for the value!

Tonight’s visit to Steam Town was so good. Food brilliant and beer good. Our server kari was outstanding and made us feel so welcome and nothing too much trouble. My only complaint and this has happened on previous visits but tonight by far the worst was that so many loud groups of sweary men all trying to be the alpha male! I think part of the problem is the acoustics in the place that maybe a few soft furnishings would sort out. We just couldn’t hear ourselves speak at times!

Went to Steam Town Brewery on a Thursday evening whilst they had some live music on. The band 'Still Standing' were great, playing a range of hits and really bringing the vibe up. We'd booked a table and all enjoyed burgers and chips whilst sat in the comfortable chairs behind the main bar, and stayed for pudding as well. The table service from Kari was brilliant, and whilst there was an app available to order from, we didn't need to use it as she was so efficient. Will be back again in the future!

Great venue and the staff are fantastic. Last time I went though the food had halved in size. I much rather they were honest and put the prices up rather than make you feel like you’ve been ripped off. It’s a shortsighted way of doing business.

Cracking little place 5 minutes walk from the station. Enjoyed the selection of beers and food with a hanger of mates. Staff were great and the prices are spot on. 👍

Came here while visiting relatives as I'm not local. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The food was so good even my youngest loved it (he's a very fussy eater). If I didn't live a 3 hour train journey away, I'd be here more often.

I'm glad we found this place online. Looks like a normal pub from the outside, but inside it's completely different! Cosy bar at the front and then industrial/train style in the restaurant area. The burgers were fantastic and a HUGE selection of beer & cider. They had my favourite Thistly Cross cider which I haven't seen anywhere for ages.

This was my second visit. The first was an experience in customer service, and the second was a great experience. Thank you to the staff, and we will be back in soon.

This is a place that knows how to look after its customers. The staff are the absolute best and they make you feel so welcome! They really know how to take care of you. The food is incredible and all locally sourced which just adds to the quality of this pub! The choice of drinks is really good and if you’re not into the IPAs etc there is a wide choice of other drinks available! We were lucky enough to book a table for dining when they had one of the fantastic bands playing! Great music, great atmosphere and somewhere I am proud to take family and friends! What a great place. We went there for Beer Knights beer tasting evening as I had heard they had some gluten free beers......some.... they had eight ! They were all really good and the hosts (Catherine & Aaron) were the real brewers so able to answer all of our questions about the beers. Food was also great - Cathy & Liam dealt with my gluten free requirements brilliantly. We will definitely be back....Great evening.

I have never been disappointed with this place. I’ve been visiting this pub since we moved into the area 2 years ago. My experience has always been good, my husband and I either go alone, meet up with friends or family. The service has always been good, efficient and friendly. If you like your ale or cider this place is great. The food is fresh and tasty. They sometimes they have bands on - which can be a bit of a squeeze but they play in the bar so the restaurant area is not effected. You can hire out upstairs for a reasonable amount of money. We did this and held a get together for our neighbours. Fun venue, a good all rounder.

You have to visit Steam Town. We were served by Jerry, never had such a fantastic server, full of energy, a real character and nothing was a hassle. Our food was amazing, perfect for everyone, meat eater, vegetarian and gluten free all catered for! We were very comfortable, the pub is so warm, inviting and unique. But the experience was made all the better thanks to Jerry. Highly recommend eating here!

I went to Steamtown this evening, for possibly the sixth or seventh time, and every time it has been lovely, but a friend has just suggested that I send a review: I’m not a particularly TripAdvisor review person, but in this instance, I think it’s worth it. You’ve got a beautiful brewery and pub, with an interesting and original decor, which serves its own beers and many others, but much more beyond that, and I think it has captivated people from all kinds of backgrounds in the area. Aside from the lovely beers that they produce , they do really good food, but beyond that, you have fabulous, attentive and warm service: you ask for a slight change to the food, and that change you get, and it is done with a smile, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world to do : it is for them, I think they enjoy serving people. Good beer, good food, great atmosphere, human warmth: surely the epitome of what we like.

We started our studio's Christmas celebrations at Steam Town Brewery. We hired the event space which was really funky with full tech available for our presentations. We then had a beer tasting session and an amazing burger lunch. The team at Steam Town were really accommodating and friendly. A great venue.
