Fish nice crispy and hot,peas not usual standard,batter ok,chips a disgrace,cold,little hard bits,not one good chip in packet went in bin,also stone cold,oh forgot chicken. It was ok

under cooked batter on fish and on cod bites same with spam fitters normally great but really bad tonight sorry

Food was freezing had to be microwaved. Cheese wasn’t melted in wraps as chips were that cold.

Order was delivered quickly but food was freezing cold, couldn’t eat it, won’t go back

Local chippy, cooks chips to order. It's what you expect. The chips are decent and some nice deals

it was good but the gravy had spilled inside the bag as it was put in on its side and went everywhere in the walkers bag .

there was only maybe 20 decent chips, some were black , hard , small scrappy bits, should never have been served.

Lovely brown chips,fish well cooked and crispy batter,hubby loved the mushy peas,our favourite chippy so far 😊

Quality service but the food is disgusting. Haven't been well since. They just rush the food out. The chicken looks under cooked.

The food from here is usually lovely but I was so disappointed. The chips were stale as if they were yesterday’s and the kebab meat was bland. Gutted.

They did not have what we ordered. Had to wait ages for chips only to be told could not have what was ordered and paid for. Service not the best and food mediocre.

Disgusting, last night got my son the kids cod bites and chips, the chips were OK ish the fish on the other hand wasn't cooked at all looked like it had been put in the fryer and took straight back out, this experience has put me off coming back

Had garlic sauce dripping all over the kebab just dumped on top like a wet nappy went straight in the bin when got home. Surely garlic sauce comes separate and not dumped all over the kebab and chips discusting

Chips tasted nasty. Jombo cod very dry fish. Batter dripping with grease. Wont ever go back.

Bought a chip butty. The chipper had a very thin attachment - chips like flat straws and not even hot! There was no butter on the bread cake and the tomato sauce would’ve taken your stomach lining off! £4. 😒 only worth £2 - if that! I couldn’t eat half of it, because the TK was so acidic - the cheapest most horrible tomato sauce I’ve ever tasted! It should be called vinegar sauce! (I thought they would’ve sold me a separate Heinz sachet for 50p or something, but they charge 70p for the most disgusting, acidic sauce, I have tasted! Will never go back ‘under new Management’, I think it needs to be ‘under new Management’ again - absolutely awful!

Normally we have no issues and always order from here but tonight the money left our bank it said it was out for delivery at 10:10pm and never turned up very disappointed

Worst meal I’ve ever had from here. Waited well over an hour for delivery, when it arrived (eventually) the fish batter was soggy (we didn’t have salt or vinegar on it) and the chips were not freshly cooked, also it was stone cold.

Nice kebab but sadly not as lush as last time. However it was still nice, just the consistency wasn’t as good tonight and the chips were rather bitty too. Haddock was good. Will stick to sausage and chips next time as that’s lovely from here

Amazing food as always, ready bang on time with great service

Ordered some fish bites and they smelled overwhelmingly fishy, suggesting this fish was on the turn. Golden Chippy is normally really good, but this was the rare instance of a failure that I can't understand how it even happened. Can't fault the pizza and chips though.

Firstly we have bought food in person here and it's been fine. I think the problem must have been waiting for a delivery driver meaning the food was all dried up. The fish & kebab meat were ok but chips were twig like crispy and the salad in pitta was tiny and frankly inedible.

The chips were horrible! The kebab meat was overly salty. The fish was quite nice. I won’t be ordering again

The cod was nice. The garlic bread was burnt, dry and didn’t taste of anything. The chilli sauce was tasteless and the chips were stale.

Love this take away and it’s my first choice, the jalapeño bites need more jalapeño in them, everything else is amazing as always. Well worth the money.

Very late on arriving. Food wasn’t that great and cold on arrival. Avoid if you want good quality fish and chips. I accidentally went on to place another from them and well the food was worse again. We won’t be using them again - disgusting

The worst chip shop meal I have ever had. The chips were just in bits, small, greasy and overcooked. The fish I was tasteless and of bad quality. We spent over £30 on a family meal and will never be returning. Just eat should remove them for the very poor quality of food that they are serving.

The worst fish and chips I have ever been served in my life! Read reviews and ordered thinking’s this would be nice however the JUMBO fish I ordered was just a regular fish and it was so over cooked it tasted dry and powdery (not even sure how this is possible) the chips were wrinkled up like they were cooked 10x over and were also way over cooked! Food arrived cold and ended up in the bin! Absolutely disgusting! Will never be ordering from here again! Foaming I now have to re-order food from somewhere else now my tea is ruined!

The fish was beautiful, we tried the cod and the haddock they were both cooked really well. Super tasty and definitely fresh cooked stacks of chips on the large portions . Really enjoyed our chippy treat.

The chips were dreadful- they’d obviously been re-fried and were bitty and shrivelled. I ordered haddock but I’m not 100% convinced that’s what I got, it had no flavour whatsoever. Haddock is usually has quite sweet, moist flesh, this was dry and tasteless. Big disappointment all round.

£24.50 for 2 fish and chips one cod fish was fresh at keast but all batter and chips were obviously from day befire heated uo so gard you coukd of used them as bricks I woukdnt go back if they were free

Collected the order, all cooked fresh, red hot, nice kebab meat fresh salad. Chilli sauce not ridiculously hot, I would definitely recommend.

Waited 5 minutes for chips only to be told (once they were ready) that there were no peas. I asked for both items at the same time, before I was told about the wait, but apparently he didn't hear me. Maybe try taking your airpods out, you'll definitely hear better. Don't waste your time like I did this afternoon. Avoid.

Ordered off just eat as hadn’t eaten All day for something quick. 15mins wait til collection it said so 8:20pm, once placed order it jumped to 8:55pm. I rang up to find out why the wait was going to be so long, to be very rudely spoken to by staff member informing me they were really short staffed. Which yes, I understand but there was just no need at all for the attitude. Normally really good service. Will see what the food come like…

Before anyone starts thinking, 'what a snowflake', may I point out this is my first ever complaint and or review, anyway here goes, I ordered my food and was told there would be a small delay while it cooked, not a problem, while waiting I noticed that the gentleman involved with food prep, opened cupboard doors, answered his phone, (from his back pocket, wiped his hands on his trousers and handled uncooked fresh food , (before dipping into batter), with out any hand washing what so ever. At this point I canceled my order, after explaining why, the gentleman behind the counter ushered me out of his shop shouting, 'f*ck you, f*ck you, there is the door f*ck you'. Needless to say I left.

Unfortunately this fish and chip shop is lacking whan you stand outside it looks inviting BUT looks can be deceiving and in this case it is they lack the ability to cook fish and chips the chips has green and black bits and the so-called Cod fillets is the cheapest fish they can find

I got the naan bab and felt the guy serving had very little experience. The naan bread was hard also.

The fish was good but the chips were not. They were not freshly made nor of the right size. Fifty percent of them were flat or small. Room for improvement there.

Used for first time 5/6/22. Said he was doing new chips. Some were raw. Lots of black in them. Absolutely saturated them with vinegar. Won't use again.

It took nearly two hours for the order to arrive, only after we recalled and told them after over an hour it hadn't arrived only to be told that the order had been 'misplaced'. Part of the order was missing and the food was freezing. The kebab meat was drowning in garlic sauce, so much so that the meat was completely invisible below it and tasteless because of the sauce.

Absolutely disgusting!! In fact the worst pizza I’ve had! Ordered a hot & spicy pizza the base was rock hard, next to no topping and a full tub of chilli flakes. The frozen 0.80p pizzas in iceland are much tastier. Would definitely not recommend

The best chippy great service great fish but now with new people in service slowest ever and have not a clue what they are doing very diaspointed didn't even now what colour foul the mince pie was in absolutely shocking service I walked out after 25 mins waiting and I was only person in shop with one other customer.

With all the fast food and take aways in chester le Street this is the last place you want to go . We live 5 mins away for delivery and food came stone cold and I mean stone cold chips cold grease kebab meat 🤮 pizza was cold and not what we ordered. Rang to complain they not bothered one bit no customer service at all. Would not recommend here to anyone worst place in chester le Street

Chips were not nice at all. Tasted like they were cooked in bad oil. I have given two stars as I have been once and it was ok, but sorry. Won't be going back.

Waited 2 hours for my order to arrive to have it cancelled and be told i never answered my door. Funny how my gate which triggers a cctv camera never even detected entry. Horrible customer service, would never reccomend.
