What a find! Had visited couple years ago but seems now new management which we think is even better, Proper old world pub welcome, no problem to try their extensive range of proper real ales... very friendly couple who deserve every success with this place. Ales well kept, the only proper pub in the area. They clearly know what they are doing, we visited early lunchtime on a Saturday, within half an hour real ale enthusiasts were flocking in for the great beers and atmosphere. We live about an hour down the road. We will be back.

Ben and Natalie behind the Bar were such a breath of fresh air even though we arrived just before 11 we were not only allowed to enjoy a refreshing single malt whisky and some boutique ales as a festival performer piano monkey Ben and Natalie very kindly allowed me to play two or three songs on the inn house piano. Well with these strange times - times in which it can be very difficult and frustrating to just pop into a pub, chat with the landlord and landlady, eat a great home made meal and whilst tucking in it would be rude not to try a beer or two or three, Thankfully, Ben and Natalie ensure that your visit is one of the most memorable one's, they manage to do this so easily, We were spending a weekend in Bournemouth as it was a surprise organised by my wife and our wonderful lodgers, due to these strange times we were unable to go where she wanted to take me . It may seem odd to spend a weekend only a couple of hour's from home, but we love Bournemouth and have been staying there on and off for a number of years, We wanted to find something different rather than just a corporate food chain or Pub, well we were exploring a different way back to our hotel and came across the Goat and Tricycle, I popped my head around the front door, only to be fronted with a very warm welcome from Ben, we had just had our lunch but had no plans for dinner, I asked if we could come back in the evening for dinner and I was told no problem please take a copy of the menu, we'll we all nearly made our minds up to go for the Sunday Roast,, We went back around 7pm to this warm welcoming pub. I'm so glad we did. We all got talking with Ben and Natalie who have onlyrecently taken over this pub. They are most excellent hosts they really let us just get on with our evening celebrating my birthday, it was a shame that the front bar was empty but there was a quiz night which we really enjoyed,The pub, is extremely clean and looks very well maintained with a brilliant, covered back courtyard. We sat in the front bar and faced a choice of two real ales (it's normally six or more, but - real ale just doesn't keep long enough hence having to cut back the range on offer, Ben and Nat were observant and immediately noticed when we were ready to order. The food was extremely good with fresh ingredients and well presented, (extremely tasty) What really made it was the warm welcome the fact that the place is Totally Covid compliant and they are still very friendly and fun. We shall be returning next time we are in the area, We both worked in the hospitality industry me as a chef working in a Michelin star restaurant in Surrey and then we both went into public house management, so it was fantastic to see how Ben and Natalie are so happy and enthusiastic about the Goat and Tricycle, I think that you've really got a great team there,, we left and all said that it was so nice feel like we had stepped back before all the restrictions we're put in place whilst observing the Covid restrictions, we all had such a great time, please feel free to send a copy of my email to Ben & Natalie , I have personally highly recommended the Pub to all my friends and family,

We live in strange times - times in which it can be difficult to just pop into a pub, chat with the landlord and landlady, eat a good (and substantial, of course) meal and try a beer or two. Thankfully, the Goat and Tricycle serves all this, wonderfully. We were spending a weekend in Bournemouth because of these strange times. It seems odd to spend a weekend only an hour and a half from home, but, well, yeah. Strange times. We wanted lunch not in a beachside cafe but in a good, welcoming pub. Google led me to the Goat and Tricycle and I'm glad it did.Ben and Nat have, I understand, recently taken over this pub. They are most excellent hosts. We were warmly welcomed (to a sadly nearly empty pub - again, strange times) and even shown around - it's a largeish pub, very clean and well maintained with a pleasant, covered back courtyard. We sat in a corner and faced a choice of two real ales (it's normally six or more, but again...strange times - real ale just doesn't keep long enough to offer so many) and a number of lagers (and, of course, gin, spirits, ciders and the like). The food menu is pretty typical pub fare (fish and chips, ham, egg and chips, pub lasagne - that kind of thing) along with home made pizzas. I had a pint of Neck Oil, Jeff a pint of excellently kept Wadsworth 6x. We were specifically allowed to linger over our first pints whilst perusing the menus - we were not rushed at all. Ben and Nat were observant and immediately noticed when we were ready to order. The food is good - exactly what you'd expect from a well-run wet led pub. We went back the following day for the Sunday roast, which was excellent. This may already be apparent, but what really sold us on the pub was the welcome. They are totally COVID observant and still very friendly and fun. I will go back in a heartbeat when I next find myself in Bournemouth. The G&T is not just for G&Ts, but for life.Highly recommended.

The Goat & Tricycle is an adorable building, like something out of a picture book. Flowers and window boxes outside and quirky decorations inside. Very local it seemed; we certainly felt like the only tourists while we were there (and a bit of fish out of water..). Despite it only being about 5pm, the staff kindly served us some tea and a sticky pudding dessert (which was delicious). Inside is very comfortable. Clean, plenty of booths for cozy seating. Nice outdoor area as well.

This is a real Oldie world PUB that is also great for food. lots of different cask ales, beers, ciders, wines and sprits available in a great setting. tucked away in side street off the main road you'll need to search it out.

I did a review on this establishment last year and was full of praises, we went back a few weeks ago and it was Terrible. I ordered food a small fish and chips, I was then told there was no peas and would I like cabbage and green beans as a alternative, the wife ordered a fish fingered sandwich, my meal came out and one of the Chips was bigger than the Fish. Hmm the wife,s meal she cut into the Fish Finger and it looked like Sausage meat, she had a full refund and I had a 50% reduction. There excuse for the Manager was on Holiday. Don,t think we will be going back to this Establishment.

Ten out of eleven cask ale hand pumps on but the strange back street location and unenthusiastic barman make this a "9visit only as nothing better nearby" pub.

Recommended by a local tour operator so decided to give it a try. Old style pub - seemed to be lots of regulars in the crowd - friendly and welcoming (made room for us on their bench). Fab ladies behind the bar. Had hamburgers for dinner - served hot and tasty.

Relatively local, this is a great traditional pub with a variety of beer - but the food is best avoided.

Came in Saturday 17th May for my friends Angela's birthday. I rang in advance to book a table for 10 people. The staff were lovely, I spoke to a lady called Sabrina on the phone, remembering as I have the same name, and she was very helpful and accommodating. The table was located in an ideal spot, and fuss was made of my friend including a free drink :-) Only criticism was that there seemed to be a delay on the food arriving. But when it arrived we were all happy with the quality

Gevonden via tripadvisor.

This is an old skool local pub with a lot of potential. It was very quiet the day I went there.A good selection of ales and beers. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. There is a nice sunny patio garden to sit and chill. The Sunday lunch was good but only one choice of meat. Worth a visit for a beer or Sunday lunch.

The goat is more of a drinkers pub and not a fine dining locale, but the food that they do serve is all of a good standard. There were six of us, all having different starters and mains and we couldn't find a thing to criticise. All very tasty and decent portion sizes. I have to say, the ham on my ham, egg and chips was the best I have ever had and could have come off the counter of a high quality delicatessen.

We were made very welcome when we entered this pub. There is a range of real ales, various gins etc etc. We ordered The goat burger from the specials board, and the cheese board. There is a good Gluten Free menu. We asked if we could have Gluten Free bread on the goat burger, but were told no. There was no explanation. The goat burger was a beer burger with goats cheese and very, very tasty. The cheese board was excellent with a good variation of cheeses and crackers. We then played a game of pool and listened to the pub quiz questions. There was a superb atmosphere throughout the pub. I would thoroughly recommend this pub.
