Good food, limited menu. Flat iron steak a bit on the small side. Pork Mac and cheese a little too big. 2nd floor a good spot for view. Worth a shot.

Arrived for a birthday lunch today. Ordered food at the bar….two separate orders, one directly after the other for the same table. Unfortunately one order came 10/15 minutes before the other. When questioned with the sullen waiter…he obviously reported back to the kitchen…and then a female member of staff arrived at our table with attitude, to justify that the two orders were separate and would not come at her same time (even though ordered within seconds of each other!) Food okay, one dish luke warm, but main issue is the appalling service and attitude of staff who dealt with us…no manners, attitude and just ‘didn’t want to be there’!!! Not returning…disappointing, as have lived in Cowes for many years. Will not be returning and would not recommend to friends when there is so much choice available…

I don't normally do reviews, but felt I had to give a good review after our visit yesterday. We went for the fish and chip lunch prior to catching the ferry. Probably the best fish and chip lunch ever. Crispy batter, white flakey cod, and crisp chips. Quick attentive service.Lovely. I was so impressed with the disabled loo.....or less able as they termed it. I am on crutches at the moment and have had some bad experiences with disabled loos. This one was ultra clean, modern, and just right. Thank you.

Went for lunch with my wife and some friends. A board outside advertised a small Fish and Chips with a drink included. The standard menu items were also available. All of us decided to have the fish and chips special, and we all raved about it. The chips were nice and crispy (no sign of oil anywhere), and the batter on the fish was done to the same high standard. We did however feel that the peas were pureed, rather than mushy. For an inexpensive meal, this was excellent.

We went to celebrate our daughter’s, The service was really friendly and efficient, however the food was lacking flavour and choice for vegans.. it is really pricey for what you get. A vegan hallumi on a lava stone (3 smal pieces) which stuck to the stone and had the consistency of cream cheese.

We came here for lunch and to watch one of the World Cup matches. As it was not England playing and 3pm on a Monday, it wasn’t too crowded. The staff was very nice and the seating was comfortable. The food, however, was not great. My partner had the burger with pulled pork and slaw, and I had the fish and chips. Both were our second choices as they were out of our first choices, the smoked turkey leg and seafood chowder. We paid extra to have cheese on the chips. The cheese sauce wasn’t great and there wasn’t a lot of it. The rest of it was average at best. Bottom line - good place to have a pint and watch the game, but eat somewhere else.

We were lucky to have this great place recommended to us by the local flower shop. It’s great that all the businesses in Cowes support each other as a great business community. We were able to sit upstairs on the balcony overlooking a stunning view while my partner was able to watch the England football match. They have a great little Carvery with a choice of 3 different meats, veggies, home made roast potatoes, home made Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and cauliflower cheese. They were able to do me a gluten free meal with homemade gravy which tasted amazing! They also cater for kids and offer vegan and vegetarian. The staff despite being busy were all polite and helpful. They also offer a fully extensive menu if a roast isn’t for you including salads, wraps, sandwiches and pub grub. I would have taken some photos of my food but it was so delicious I ate it before I thought about it! There’s also free WiFi. This pub has everything you need and more for a relaxing afternoon watching sport or the world go by!

Our friends had eaten there before and we soon found a clean outdoor table with an excellent view of water traffic in front of us. We ordered drinks and meals from the lad behind the bar, who was rushed off his feet as he seemed to be on his own. However it was busy, and he coped very well. We sat in the sun and our food was quickly delivered. Having checked that we had all requirements the waiter went inside. The food was delicious, hot, good portions and on warmed plates. Too full for pudding, the total cost including drinks was below £37 which given the quality of the food for 4 people I thought to be very good. Congratulations to The Globe!

My friend and I visited Cowes at the start of Cowes Week for the day. We chose this place because it was on the seafront and had outside seating. My friend had the fish dish of the day (Hake) which she said was delicious. I, on the other hand, didn't read the menu properly and chose steak with half rib, chips and salad. It was under the heading "Combos and Feasts". A feast it most certainly was! I just stared at the plate for about 5 minutes, not knowing what to do with the amount of food on my plate. The "half rib" was simply enormous and there was no way I could eat it. I had to ask for a "doggy bag" and brought it home. I even struggled with the 5oz rump steak and there was so many chips with just a little bit of salad. If you are starving, this is the dish for you but for me, on the day, it was simply too much. The serving staff were very attentive and brought me two containers so I could cut the ribs in half and fill each box. We did enjoy a nice bottle of rose in the sunshine. Would recommend but do choose carefully!

Having been here when the venue was a restaurant and bar, now diversifying to a sports bar, it's noticeable the service has diminished. Started with a very limited selection of beers which we were surprised to see. Our experience probably wasn't enhanced by what we can only assume a senior member of staff (possibly a French lady) mimicking my sister's accent asked for direction to the ladies!! The Globe is in a perfect position on Cowes Parade with beautiful views over the harbor from the roof terrace.

It was the Friday afternoon/evening of Cowes week which didn't help us. Initially we wanted food but due to its popularity, apart from burgers there was nothing else on the menu that we would have eaten. Others had them, and they did look good. Just not for us today.

Sat outside and enjoyed a drink. Prices weren't cheap but the views are incredible out across the water. The place is well designed and had a nice atmosphere. Service was ok and friendly.

We went here for breakfast with our children. There isn't a great deal of choice but they do pancakes which pleased our kids as it is hard to find them on breakfast menus. The pancakes were very yummy. I had the cooked breakfast which was very nice and the sausages were excellent quality. The only criticism is that I would of liked more mushrooms as I only had one medium/large one.

The setting of this restaurant / bar is perfect, on the parade front in Cowes . The restaurant is on the 2nd floor with huge patio doors leading to a baloney for you to have stunning views of the sunset over the sea. The Top floor is an amazing roof cocktail bar ! wonderful ! Sadly the food and menu choice did not do the venue justice. It was a small menu and the food although presented beautifully did not live up to expectations . The service was adequate and although the waitress was friendly, there was not the smooth polish or grace of a fine dinning restaurant. The meal was expensive and I felt the whole dining experience to be some what disappointing .

We popped in for lunch without booking, on a lovely late summers day and were told that as the verandah was booked on the first floor that we could have a table on the roof top terrace. After ordering drinks, it became clear that it was going to be a bit windy as the menus started to blow about but the barman on the terrace relocated us downstairs again to the first floor restaurant without any problem. This is a lovely room with a very 'New England' maritime feel to it. Oak floorboards and light and airy, it really is a lovely room to take lunch in, especially with the verandah windows wide open, providing fantastic views across the solent. Our food came very promptly and was fresh, tasty and well presented. The dressed crab salad was a little bit more 'nouveau cuisine' and less substantial than I would have preferred but this was a minor observation on an otherwise lovely lunch. My wife had a ciabatta sandwich of smoke mackerel, cream cheese and lime and my daughter had the roasted vegetable and goats cheese salad. All tasty, fresh and not too overpriced. I washed mine down with a very acceptable, ice cold Pinot Grigio. All in all, great service, lovely fresh, tasty food and good value. Will definitely call in again.

Family evening meal. Excellent food superbly prepared. Portions not huge but they shouldn't be when savouring excellent quisine. Decent beer selection. Attentive and very professional staff. Super sea views. Our children loved watching the ferries arriving and departing. Excellent children's menu, as well prepared as the a la carte. They even accommodated our dog.

One of the best pub Sunday lunches we've had in several years. The meat was succulent - and if you can't choose beef or port you can have half and half. The potatoes were crunchily roasted with soft interior. The Yorkshire puddings seemed a step above most pub versions being neither greasy nor, like so many places, perfect roundels straight from a freezer. There wasn't much green veg but the kale - normally not something I like - was salty and well prepared. Great with the beautifully prepared red cabbage. Big shared portion of cauliflower cheese included too, and - on request - extra gravy and really tangy horseradish. Frankly not much to criticise here and the desserts were brilliant too. We had heard someone say that the change of ownership a week or so back had caused a drop in standards but it's hard to believe that it was ever much better than this. Highly recommended.

Came in to see a friend and left with a warm contented feeling, the place is warm and cozy and very friendly, but spacious enough to not be overbearing. The food is excellent and it has to be the best burger on the island hands down, it’s huge, full of flavour and seriously tasty, highly recommend the village inn

Called today what must have been the busiest day ever. Had to queue for ages but the coffee tea cakes and flapjack perfect. My reason for five stars were for the young lady behind the counter working alone and so hard (others working behind the scenes preparing and serving orders ) but she smiled and was so courteous she deserved a medal. Only downside at 2.30 running out of items such as scones bacon sandwiches etc but maybe they did not expect the number of customers . Well done
