Rushed off the table at 9pm even after spending £500+ and clearly nobody else coming after us. Went around to the bar for a drink and after 20 mins still no coffee’s, told they’d not even bothered making them as they were too busy. Food was ok, just your average pub grub.

One of my favourite pubs. Great food quality, excellent service and beautiful atmosphere. Last time we have been served by Betsy who has been amazing.

Atmosphere and staff were amazing. The main food was tasty and fresh. The only disappointing part was the calamari starter which didn’t exactly resemble calamari as we were expecting rings. Other than that, the food and service were amazing

We visited the globe with family it was a special occasion, so disappointed. The food was not very good the service was odd they took away the wine glasses and then we said why are taking glasses away when they haven't asked if we want wine which we did. Then they brought a bottle over and we had to open it ourselves. At the end we ordered a dessert we waited half an hour and questioned why it was taking so long and we were told there's an issue in the kitchen and it would be out soon. After 15 more minutes it still didn't arrive. We gave up. When we went to pay we complained there was no apology and we we were told that dessert was being taken off the bill as though this was to make up for the issue. We never got dessert so how they charge us anyway. They don't care it ruined our day

Very warmly welcomed on arrival by Joe, lovely atmosphere, very good menu. Lunch time menu with a choice of two or three courses. We chose two courses for £17.50 which we thought was great value, for a really tasty lasagne, garlic ciabatta, and a salad bowl. Dessert choices were excellent, mini chocolate brownie (not really mini) with butterscotch ice cream and coffee included, we did indulge with a liqueur coffee for an extra £2, which was excellent. Very high praise for Joe and Sofia who were both friendly and attentive to everyone, in what was quite a busy lunchtime. We would definitely recommend The Globe, we'll be back again soon.

We had a great works quiz in the function room with friendly staff. Thanks to James for assisting us with the parking problem after the visit.

Almost an hour wait for lunch that was average at best.

This is a great spot for lunch, dinner or drinks. I have frequented here since October 2024, and it is such a warm and cosy atmosphere, especially when the fires are going. All the bar and restaurant staff are lovely, and the food service is quick and high quality. The menu has some great classic pub food with ample portion sizes. I would visit here again.

Great Sunday roast - met up with some friends for lunch.

Came here for a wake recently, but have been on other occasions. Car park behind, but disabled access.....staff always willing to help. Atmosphere everything from intimate to large groups. Food was good with attention to dietary needs.

What a lovely place to dine. Fantasic food with a top quality service. The staff were extremley welcoming and attentive. Would highly recommend a visit. I look forward to returning soon.

Vicky our server was amazing, always there with a smile and never had to wait too long in-between courses, as she was always coming over to make sure if we needed anything.

Went today for a Sunday Roast to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday with 4 others. We had a lovely time. A couple of issues experienced. Firstly, despite asking twice, we failed to receive some tap water for the table. Secondly, the Gents toilet had no soap (the machine on the wall was broken). However, the beers, wine, coffee, mains, and desserts were all very good. We would recommend and return.

Food was great but it was obvious to us that the pub was ripping off its employees by keeping serving staff short-staffed. With around 100 guests, we noticed that the girls serving were working at double speed for hours. One of had started early in the morning and was working till 11pm. It was unpleasant to see workers exploited like this. Come on pub management, treat your staff fairly..

Food excellent with friendly and helpful staff

Met some of my friends here on 31st Jan and had a great time. I haven't been to the Globe in a long while but this was a very enjoyable evening. The staff were friendly and chatty and advised us on different types of beer they had available. We had a pizza and chips to share between the three of us which was good. Some feedback - when you serve whole pizzas, it would be sooo much better if you did this on a flat wooden platter and supply a pizza cutting wheel, rather than leaving it to customers to cut it up with a cutlery knife on a china plate that has a lip round the outside. It's a small detail but would be an easy win for you in terms of customer satisfaction. Plus, please start stocking Guinness Zero as it's super popular and I've never been anywhere that doesn't serve it. Lastly, I'd also suggest putting a little card on each table reminding guests to register their vehicle number plate on arrival, so they don't forget and can avail of your free parking. Overall, great place, great staff and we'll be back again soon! Thanks! :-)

The lasagne and fish & chips were delicious— huge thanks to Nathan, Fiona, and Oliver for the excellent cooking. Annabelle provided fantastic service, making our visit even better. Highly recommend

Stopped off at the Globe for some lunch, we'd been years ago, so we thought it would be a good choice but we were wrong. Very strong smell of varnish in the dining area. The food was overall disappointing. Out of the 4 of us, nobody finished what they'd ordered. The interior is looking generally a bit tired.

Visited on a Sunday evening as a party of nine. They contacted us earlier in the day to ask if anyone would like to order a roast, in case they ran out. Nice touch. We all enjoyed the food and the pork belly in particular was delicious. Staff were friendly and the service was quick without being rushed. We'll certainly be making a return visit

Very kind staff , excellent menu , perfectly cooked with a fast and efficient service. I managed to speak to the chef Fiona on the night who seemed extremely enthusiastic about what she's doing at the globe and what could change to improve an already established menu. I look forward to returning and look forward to seeing if indeed the menu has changed and Fiona gets the chance to express herself. Ps the older lady / waitress, with glasses that took care of our table needs a raise as her knowledge of the menu and how she made us feel was fantastic. All round great effort, Well done team globe 🌎

On 18 /01for a evening meal, a warm welcome greeted us. The starters arrived. And we asked to have a bottle of wine. We were told some one would Come to take our order, no one ever did. Mains arrived., but starter plates had not been taken. I had finished my meal before any one came to ask if the meal was OK. We said the prawn cocktail was inedible. It was removed from the bill. A VERY DISAPPOINTING EVENING.

Very nice, we had a nice walk to this place, but of a soggy day, but the staff were welcoming and sat us down earlier than our table was booked for. Didn’t have to wait long for either our drinks or our food. We had the Sunday menu, so I had the pork belly which was very meaty, not too fatty, it had separate pork crackling, really nice. They normally have 3 real ales on hand pump, but this time they only had 1 available which was Doom Bar, not a big fan, so we had Neck Oil on keg/draft which was a nice pint. All in all a great experience, cost us just over £30 a head which wasn’t bad.

The Globe is our family’s favourite place to eat! They put on a wonderful buffet, after my husband was layed to rest,& we have had many visits since, including a family get together,a year after my dear husband died. All the staff are friendly, professional,& wonderful! we have got to know some really well, in particular, Olivia, Fi, & Sophia. Nice pub, nice Sunday lunch, above average pricing

We had the wake for my mother in law at The Globe and it was a great venue! The service from booking to on the day was fantastic. The buffet sandwiches we ordered were fantastic and good quality.

We came for a friend's 40th, which I mentioned in the booking notes but was not acknowledged any time during or visit. Of course it was busy that day though, so no worries. The staff were friendly but disorganised, bringing drinks after the food came out. But again, it was a hectic service by the looks of it. Obviously, The Globe is a popular place. Undoubtedly, for the food, which was magnificent. Generous portions, excellent value for money and very very delicious. Shame we couldn't take advantage of the mini dessert and hot drink offer though, because the coffee machine was broken and, according the our server, in the whole place, there was no kettle to boil some hot water for tea. The toilets too were pretty grim - no soap in the ladies and the men's were apparently really grim too. So overall (the food being the saving grace) we had a good lunch. Wouldn't want to put people off going for a roast because the food is amazing and everything was a reasonable price (including the mocktails which is rare). Hopefully our next visit - because we will come back - will be a little more sparkly!l

Lack of staff waiting hour and half for food to arrive ,turned up cold ,no one approached us to ask if everything was ok ,would not recommend or maybe invest in more staff.

I wanted a delicious roast dinner for my birthday. Although it started badly. An hour before our booking I got told that they now have a limited menu and the roast dinners may have ran out by the time our booking starts which is a shame because an hour isn't enough time to find somewhere else to book etc. We got there and service was incredibly slow, didn't get our menus for ages and drinks took half an hour to get there even though it was so quiet (6:30pm). Food arrival time was okay and a veggie and a pork roast dinner was available so a couple of us had the pork. The food arrival time was okay but my sea bass dish was luke warm. I honestly wouldn't go there again, still quite curious if the roast is as good as I heard but the service put me off so never mind.

Such a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere in The Globe! Comfy chairs, a crackling fire … and our dogs were welcome too. The cheese platter was delightful - we’ll definitely recommend this pub.

We came here for new years day lunch with friends and our dogs. I booked last minute over the phone and they even accommodated our request for a quiet corner for the dogs. Food was great quality and well priced. Service was of course great too. Would definitely recommend and come back again.

Have had mixed experiences here as have visited on numerous occasions as is very close to home. Food is always good but service can be hit or miss. Parking however is not great. Visited for a swift drink after night in Bath and received a parking fine for £60. Am sure that entered car registration as like earlier said, visit often. Plus remember bar staff asking if have registered. Could the tablet be faulty? Could I have made a mistake? Paid cash, no receipt. Not great paying over £70 for a glass of wine and a coke. Did not think I was visiting London. Live and learn. Will now photograph myself using the parking tablet to show the bailiff proof of visiting establishments.

So the Christmas dinner was nice, god drinks and good timing by a lovely log fire. A bit disorganised at the start with the staff searching through lots of small bits of paper, which I can understand later would make people unhappy. I do feel however if we had not booked early, we would have gone away disappointed but it was a nice meal.

Christmas Dinner after being seated waitbout used an hour then i had to call someone over seems like they had forgotten about us when the first course showed up we didnt have time to eat that as we were meeting friends so we just had the main roast turkey which was cold they ruined our Christmas day shame on them never go there again not worth 80.00 each could of done it better myself.

Boxing Day 2024: had to wait 20 minutes for menus. No one took our drinks orders. Not all the food came out at the same time so one person was nearly finished before everyone got their food. One waitress was clearly hungover and trying to hide as much as she could. People on other tables had to go up and ask for someone to take their order.

We had Christmas lunch. The atmosphere and greeting was excellent, the food and service was brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Staff initially great, really welcoming and we go to the globe a lot and they're always friendly and accommodating It was my sons birthday and he's autistic so we sat in the bar as its less busy than the dining room We all had food and drinks Everything was fab except my sons macaroni cheese was awful! Tiny portion, looked like a kids meal He's a big lad so had we known it was gonna be so small we would of ordered something more substantial. I talked to a staff member.... she had an accent. She just said that was what portion they serve as I thought maybe he'd been given a kids by mistake No other response was given or offered something else, so dissatisfied I tasted it too and it tasted like a cheap microwave meal. Appalling for £15 I won't be celebrating his birthday there again

Stopped here today on the way back from Bath Christmas Market, I don't like to say it but wish we hadn't bothered. The place is nice and staff were fine but the food was awful. We both had the Sunday roast and it's one of the worst we've had. Hard chewy roast potatoes, sprouts were unedible because they were so hard, Pigs in blankets were virtually raw and to top it off the whole plate of food was cold. I didn't want to complain so just settled the bill of £81 for 2 of us and left. Whilst paying the couple next to us complained of exactly the same issues with their food so it wasn't just us. You are advertising a Christmas day meal for £79.99 per head, please sort this out by next week, you can't serve food of that standard and charge that much. Be a shame to spoil someone's Christamas Day with that standard of food. Totally disappointed and will never return.

A good country pub. Lots of space inside but not too packed. The food is generous and tasty and the staff are lovely. Not too noisy either, so many modern pubs are stripped back to bare boards and brick walls which makes it impossible to have a conversation.

It’s almost Christmas but the place was cold, poor lighting and no ambiance. Gammon was very tough with no taste and the eggs weren’t cooked properly. We won’t be going back but the decorations looked lovely.

While I rarely submit reviews, this establishment warrants an exception. It ranks among the finest pubs I've experienced. From initial greeting to food service, the staff exhibited exceptional hospitality and professionalism. The cuisine was superb; my signature burger was outstanding. I extend particular commendation to Sophie for her exemplary customer service. Highly recommended

Don't visit The Globe i have had a parking fine for not paying for parking whilst visiting the pub and spending money in the pub

Very disappointed on eating here today. Waited 30 minutes for food order to be taken. Waitress not very friendly and not enough staff to cater for amount of people eating today. Food very mediocre, 2 identical roasts ordered and one much larger and more meat than the other. Burgers were thick and tough. Have eaten here before but it was better than this. Don’t book so many people in if you haven’t got the staff to deal with them.

Went for a birthday meal today. Have to say, we were quite disappointed. Lots of things not available on menu, adults food was barely warm when it arrived, whereas children’s was boiling hot, and placed straight in front of child with no warning to how hot it actually was. Food was okay, but not as good as previous meals we’ve had there before.

We eat once a month at The Globe and it is always a very enjoyable time. The staff are excellent (Sophia and Penny - The A Team) and the tasty meals served quickly. The team genuinely want you to have a good experience.

I really like the atmosphere at this pub. Subtle lighting and fires keep the place cozy, even though the pub itself is large. Food and drinks are great, and the service from Vicky was great also. I wouldn't hesitate to return!
