Great place for lunch, lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, great food

We had a lovely meal here today, everything was cooked beautifully. Our server, Betsie gets an extra special mention for her attention and patience.

Our server Sam was brilliant! Very welcoming and attentive!

Very nice, we had a nice walk to this place, but of a soggy day, but the staff were welcoming and sat us down earlier than our table was booked for. Didn’t have to wait long for either our drinks or our food. We had the Sunday menu, so I had the pork belly which was very meaty, not too fatty, it had separate pork crackling, really nice. They normally have 3 real ales on hand pump, but this time they only had 1 available which was Doom Bar, not a big fan, so we had Neck Oil on keg/draft which was a nice pint. All in all a great experience, cost us just over £30 a head which wasn’t bad.

On 18 /01for a evening meal, a warm welcome greeted us. The starters arrived. And we asked to have a bottle of wine. We were told some one would Come to take our order, no one ever did. Mains arrived., but starter plates had not been taken. I had finished my meal before any one came to ask if the meal was OK. We said the prawn cocktail was inedible. It was removed from the bill. A VERY DISAPPOINTING EVENING.

The Globe is our family’s favourite place to eat! They put on a wonderful buffet, after my husband was layed to rest,& we have had many visits since, including a family get together,a year after my dear husband died. All the staff are friendly, professional,& wonderful! we have got to know some really well, in particular, Olivia, Fi, & Sophia. Thank you so much everyone, looking forward to our next visit🥰 Mary xxx

Nice pub, nice Sunday lunch, above average pricing

We had the wake for my mother in law at The Globe and it was a great venue! The service from booking to on the day was fantastic. The buffet sandwiches we ordered were fantastic and good quality.

We came for a friend's 40th, which I mentioned in the booking notes but was not acknowledged any time during or visit. Of course it was busy that day though, so no worries. The staff were friendly but disorganised, bringing drinks after the food came out. But again, it was a hectic service by the looks of it. Obviously, The Globe is a popular place. Undoubtedly, for the food, which was magnificent. Generous portions, excellent value for money and very very delicious. Shame we couldn't take advantage of the mini dessert and hot drink offer though, because the coffee machine was broken and, according the our server, in the whole place, there was no kettle to boil some hot water for tea. The toilets too were pretty grim - no soap in the ladies and the men's were apparently really grim too. So overall (the food being the saving grace) we had a good lunch. Wouldn't want to put people off going for a roast because the food is amazing and everything was a reasonable price (including the mocktails which is rare). Hopefully our next visit - because we will come back - will be a little more sparkly!l

Lack of staff waiting hour and half for food to arrive ,turned up cold ,no one approached us to ask if everything was ok ,would not recommend or maybe invest in more staff.

Very nice local restaurant with good selection of beers, Ales and wine. Welcome atmosphere, tasty food and friendly management team on the bar . Definitely will be back

I wanted a delicious roast dinner for my birthday. Although it started badly. An hour before our booking I got told that they now have a limited menu and the roast dinners may have ran out by the time our booking starts which is a shame because an hour isn't enough time to find somewhere else to book etc. We got there and service was incredibly slow, didn't get our menus for ages and drinks took half an hour to get there even though it was so quiet (6:30pm). Food arrival time was okay and a veggie and a pork roast dinner was available so a couple of us had the pork. The food arrival time was okay but my sea bass dish was luke warm. I honestly wouldn't go there again, still quite curious if the roast is as good as I heard but the service put me off so never mind.

Such a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere in The Globe! Comfy chairs, a crackling fire … and our dogs were welcome too. The cheese platter was delightful - we’ll definitely recommend this pub.

We came here for new years day lunch with friends and our dogs. I booked last minute over the phone and they even accommodated our request for a quiet corner for the dogs. Food was great quality and well priced. Service was of course great too. Would definitely recommend and come back again.

Have had mixed experiences here as have visited on numerous occasions as is very close to home. Food is always good but service can be hit or miss. Parking however is not great. Visited for a swift drink after night in Bath and received a parking fine for £60. Am sure that entered car registration as like earlier said, visit often. Plus remember bar staff asking if have registered. Could the tablet be faulty? Could I have made a mistake? Paid cash, no receipt. Not great paying over £70 for a glass of wine and a coke. Did not think I was visiting London. Live and learn. Will now photograph myself using the parking tablet to show the bailiff proof of visiting establishments.

So the Christmas dinner was nice, god drinks and good timing by a lovely log fire. A bit disorganised at the start with the staff searching through lots of small bits of paper, which I can understand later would make people unhappy. I do feel however if we had not booked early, we would have gone away disappointed but it was a nice meal.

Christmas Dinner after being seated waitbout used an hour then i had to call someone over seems like they had forgotten about us when the first course showed up we didnt have time to eat that as we were meeting friends so we just had the main roast turkey which was cold they ruined our Christmas day shame on them never go there again not worth 80.00 each could of done it better myself.

Boxing Day 2024: had to wait 20 minutes for menus. No one took our drinks orders. Not all the food came out at the same time so one person was nearly finished before everyone got their food. One waitress was clearly hungover and trying to hide as much as she could. People on other tables had to go up and ask for someone to take their order.

We had Christmas lunch. The atmosphere and greeting was excellent, the food and service was brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Staff initially great, really welcoming and we go to the globe a lot and they're always friendly and accommodating It was my sons birthday and he's autistic so we sat in the bar as its less busy than the dining room We all had food and drinks Everything was fab except my sons macaroni cheese was awful! Tiny portion, looked like a kids meal He's a big lad so had we known it was gonna be so small we would of ordered something more substantial. I talked to a staff member.... she had an accent. She just said that was what portion they serve as I thought maybe he'd been given a kids by mistake No other response was given or offered something else, so dissatisfied I tasted it too and it tasted like a cheap microwave meal. Appalling for £15 I won't be celebrating his birthday there again

Very busy Saturday evening. Food really tasty, good atmosphere and friendly staff.

A good country pub. Lots of space inside but not too packed. The food is generous and tasty and the staff are lovely. Not too noisy either, so many modern pubs are stripped back to bare boards and brick walls which makes it impossible to have a conversation.

Stopped here today on the way back from Bath Christmas Market, I don't like to say it but wish we hadn't bothered. The place is nice and staff were fine but the food was awful. We both had the Sunday roast and it's one of the worst we've had. Hard chewy roast potatoes, sprouts were unedible because they were so hard, Pigs in blankets were virtually raw and to top it off the whole plate of food was cold. I didn't want to complain so just settled the bill of £81 for 2 of us and left. Whilst paying the couple next to us complained of exactly the same issues with their food so it wasn't just us. You are advertising a Christmas day meal for £79.99 per head, please sort this out by next week, you can't serve food of that standard and charge that much. Be a shame to spoil someone's Christamas Day with that standard of food. Totally disappointed and will never return.

It’s almost Christmas but the place was cold, poor lighting and no ambiance. Gammon was very tough with no taste and the eggs weren’t cooked properly. We won’t be going back but the decorations looked lovely.

While I rarely submit reviews, this establishment warrants an exception. It ranks among the finest pubs I've experienced. From initial greeting to food service, the staff exhibited exceptional hospitality and professionalism. The cuisine was superb; my signature burger was outstanding. I extend particular commendation to Sophie for her exemplary customer service. Highly recommended

Don't visit The Globe i have had a parking fine for not paying for parking whilst visiting the pub and spending money in the pub

Very disappointed on eating here today. Waited 30 minutes for food order to be taken. Waitress not very friendly and not enough staff to cater for amount of people eating today. Food very mediocre, 2 identical roasts ordered and one much larger and more meat than the other. Burgers were thick and tough. Have eaten here before but it was better than this. Don’t book so many people in if you haven’t got the staff to deal with them.

Went for a birthday meal today. Have to say, we were quite disappointed. Lots of things not available on menu, adults food was barely warm when it arrived, whereas children’s was boiling hot, and placed straight in front of child with no warning to how hot it actually was. Food was okay, but not as good as previous meals we’ve had there before.

Great veg Wellington. But others had burgers few chips. They enjoyed the buttered chicken burger. Dirty cutlery. 3 knives covered in food. Tables not cleared away. Decoration is poor. Needs a full paint refurbishment.

We eat once a month at The Globe and it is always a very enjoyable time. The staff are excellent (Sophia and Penny - The A Team) and the tasty meals served quickly. The team genuinely want you to have a good experience.

I really like the atmosphere at this pub. Subtle lighting and fires keep the place cozy, even though the pub itself is large. Food and drinks are great, and the service from Vicky was great also. I wouldn't hesitate to return!

Great meal with my sister and brother and partners to acknowledge and celebrate our mum's passing a year ago. Food was very good, service was excellent. May make it an annual event.

I chose the lunch set menu … the Calamari was severely under-cooked & rubbery & horribly chewy. The gammon was as tough as old boots, but the cheesecake was deicious.

The Globe arranged the buffet for us after a funeral. The food was delicious. There was no fuss. everything worked like clockwork. Coffee and tea when we arrived, then a sandwich buffet with salad, chips and deserts. Highly recommend for a stress free, relaxed and comfortable place to meet. Log fires were a bonus too.

Wow - I have to say myself and the whole table was blown away by Holly. This beautiful lady know hospitality and the service she gave us was exceptional. Friendly, courteous, fun, attentive and on the ball.... had the restaurant running like clockwork despite it being so busy. It was my mums birthday and we walked in hoping to get a table - Holly managed to squeeze us in and made the whole meal such a special occasion. Thank you Holly - you are an absolute delight and because of the wonderful service you gave us - we will definitely be back.

Visted as a family 2 roasts 1 steak 1 burger , steak was ok you don't get alot of sides to go with it..Roasts we're absolutely awful! reheated meats hard potato's and veg food was luke warm .Don't waste your money

Just went to the globe for a meal with the wife. We had a fabulous time. As always. Our waiter Sam was attentive polite and very helpful. We will be back again soon

I'm not one to write bad reviews however I haven't had a good experience at the globe for months now. The service is consistently disappointing, I regularly visit their sister restaurant the brassmill down the road; never an issue. However due to the brassmill closing for the day, me and my friend decided to try the globe again. Seated by a nice enough gentlemen who informed us on missing dishes, we were told someone would be over to take our drinks order shortly. 25 mins past still no drinks order, the waitress eventually came over and took our drinks order without giving us a chance to say we were ready for our starters and mains order. Drinks come in a decent amount of time. Starters arrive after 15-20 minutes which seemed rather long for a simple soup and chorizo prawns. After finishing our starters we waited a further 20 minutes to be cleared and have our mains sent away. When the mains finally come my friend's steak was bloody raw rather than medium, not a single opportunity to raise this with a staff member. No check back, nobody walked by throughout our meal at a pace even possible to get ahold their attention. Very disappointing. However my lamp was very well cooked and pleasant. Mains cleared not a word from waitress, no question on how the food was or if we wanted desserts. Went to find someone for dessert menus, staff just chatting in a group at the bar. Lady took order, crumble and brownie. Took half an hour to come out.. crazy. Not even slightly busy at this point seeming as we had been in the restaurant for 3 hours.. I had to find someone for the bill, then go up to show my voucher then go up again to pay. Awful experience, however they made our 2 drinks complementary, definitely will not return. Avoid.

Really lovely staff, very friendly, the cloudy lemonade is awful wouldn't recommend it to anyone, the food is OK just normal pub grub, puddings aren't great.

We came here for a roast, somewhere I had never been before, and it was really good! No complaints about the roast but the dessert didn’t get put through to the kitchen but was rectified very quickly. This is somewhere I would visit again

Nearly empty pub but they won't serve food because they had 1 big party?! Bad management if you aren't able to cope with a not even half full pub. Glad we got a heads up before booking out the whole pub for an event.

Booking a table at this popular restaurant was a challenge but the Sunday roast was well worth the wait, absolutely the finest in Bristol.

Delicious food served with a smile in a warm and cozy environment. The starters were plentiful and came quickly. For a family of four, 3 starters and 4 entrees was almost too much. Special shout out to Sam for the wonderful service!

Steak over cooked, no tomato on the plate, which supposed to be on the dish, onion portion was a joke, 4 onion rings. Not impressed.

No nspkin, artisan bread on my brisket sandwhic was not anything more than you average processed white bread, brisket lacked flavour and ducence..... Chips and the tiny amount of gravy were bangib
