The value for money is bad. The setting is nice but the different “dishes” that were served to us are at the level of McDonald’s or KFC… Expensive for what it is.

My partner and I went for an afternoon tea type situation, as I was desperate to have a scone and jam whilst we were in Bath. He doesn’t like scones, but they have something for everyone and he ordered a chocolate cake that looked amazing. I would’ve loved if I could have had clotted cream instead of butter but I’m not even sure if they offer it, I was delighted anyway. We had originally sat outside but due to the amount of seagulls and my fear of birds, we had to move inside. Even though it was busy, the girls on shift cleared up the tables extremely quickly, and if it wasn’t for their efficiency, my partner’s phone could have been stolen, as he’d accidentally left it on the table outside when we had moved to a table inside. The decor was lovely inside.

Service was prompt, efficient and smiley. Not impressed with my Cheddar ploughman’s which arrived 50% Brie. Not enough cheddar cheese to fit the menu description. Bread was plentiful, fresh and crunchy but only came with two pats of butter. Cocktail onions instead of pickled. Coleslaw was bland. Overall disappointing and overpriced. The 10% tip/gratuity appeared on the Bill. I hope the staff received it…

Myself and my autistic daughter decided to try something different, she is used to doing the same thing for comfort, however we tried an old tea room as it wasn't too busy. The tea was great but very small , my daughters hot chocolate and crumble went down well. We were served by a lovely young lady, very friendly, my daughter didn't feel uncomfortable at all. The longer we were there the more full it was becoming, so we decided to go, we didn't say long at all. Went up to pay and I kindly asked to remove the 'optional' service charge Why? 1. Because I don't believe in adding service charges, tips should be optional, I will happily tip a place which doesn't automatically put service charge on, I like to have choice. 2.The service was fine ,no issues , was just a cup of tea , hot chocolate and a cake and wasn't there long. 3.As my daughter is autistic she doesn't work, I have to pay for everything and if I can save where I can I will, and if I can give where I can I will. There was a different young lady at the tills. I asked quietly and leaned in ," can you pls remove the service charge?" Quietly because 1. My adult daughter is autistic so she always feels uncomfortable with anything like this, which can trigger her overthinking for the rest of the day. 2.Because it was busy and I didn't want the whole cafe knowing I wanted it removed or my reason why. The young lady behind the counter then said rather loudly "Oh no, why ? Are we not good enough for you"? & smiling ...!!! Waiting for an answer. In all honesty I felt belittled, I felt embarrassed, I felt stressed that my daughter was about to be triggered and I also felt angry that I was being questioned and put in a situation to answer that,. It says 'optional' on the menu, but then I'm being questioned, the young lady. I stuttered as I wasn't expecting that at all, and explained I've spent enough already and trying to save, which obviously was half my reason, but I was in shock & embarrassed. She then proceeded to laugh it off and ask where we were from etc, but by that point I just wanted to get out of the place, I responded and smiled, but in all honesty, I had a whole load of emotions going around in my head which spoiled a first time trying a tea room. It bothered me for the rest of my day , luckily it didn't affect my daughter as much as I thought it would, but she did comment & question why the lady would ask that, especially if some people would want to be more discreet about it or genuinely couldn't afford the extra. If you are the lady. Pls think about responses to this situation, everyone has their reason , it's not always about the service. Ps, would be nice with some soft music towards atmosphere. Thank you.

Late afternoon visit at 4pm. Choice of outside or in. Nice selection on the menu, like many places in Bath, prices on the high side. We ate inside, were reluctant to serve much as we're closing in an hour!! Were turning customers away not long after we sat down!! Mainly young staff , school and college age front of house. Had two sandwiches and tea. Arrived quickly, warm rolls which was nice with a good filling. Tea with extra hot water is a welcome touch. Tables were being used were clean. Very old fashioned and dated interior, were clearing down bins etc as we ate. Lot of moaning staff! Yes it gets a bit warm sometimes and having lots of customers pays your wages!!

We treated ourselves to a Georgian Cream Tea and everything was absolutely first class. The scone was warm and fresh, not too much cream and the tea and coffee was delicious. The staff/service was also brilliant, very friendly and efficient. I've had a cream tea at the famous "Betty's Tea Room" in York and I can honestly say that the one we had at the Georgian Tearooms was far superior while also being cheaper!

The place is nice and well located but don’t expect anything from their lunch. We tried the meat pie and we are steel looking for the pie ! Indeed there was only dough on the top and under that there was some kind of meat with sauce we could merely swallow as it was completely dry. It was served with peas and chips potatoes coming right from the freezer and were barely baked. It is safe to say that we have had better meals at our middle school canteen. Visited on 17th Feb - seemed understaffed which I can sympathise with but not to the extent that it impacted our experience. One girl was so rude to us, everyone came in and her fellow coworker. She slammed the drinks down so they spilled over, ignored people while they waited at the door, rolled her eyes at customers, and I can understand the noise that ceramic and crockery make but she was bashing everything about so much we couldn’t focus on enjoying our visit, do not recommend and would never return unfortunately, as the people in the Bath Bun seemed lovely who had directed us to this place…

Food was ok and freshly prepared, the ham in sandwiches was a very good quality but 2 things put me off visiting again. One was the 3 flies continually circling around the archway in centre of restaurant apparently unnoticed by the 3 waitresses, or anyone else in charge. The other was the very loud and strident phone that rang a couple of times. The second time for quite a long time. The 3 waitresses who were behind the counter doing nothing (very few customers) did not seem to think it was their job to answer it until a voice shouted out from downstairs. Couldn't hear what it said, but perhaps 'answer the phone!'

This was my first and last time coming to the Georgian tearooms in Bath. The decor is a bit odd and there isn’t much of an atmosphere. The customer service is very poor and I felt it was quite an unprofessional place with the girls waitressing too concerned with chatting amongst themselves then doing their job. Who I assume was the owner/manager came in repeatedly and was interviewing someone but didn’t seem to do anything about the lack of engagement from his staff with customers. Once I had my food, no one came over to check if everything was ok which is pretty basic service etiquette. The tea I had was weak and tasteless despite letting it brew, which was disappointing. It also came on a dirty saucer, however reading other reviews it’s clear that that is commonplace here. The food I did have was nice but overpriced for what it was. As the kitchen is directly at the foot of the stairs, if you sit near the stairs you can easily hear the kitchen staff as they are pretty loud which is a bit off putting. After I had finished my food, I waited for over half an hour for someone to clear the table and bring the bill. I eventually went up to the counter and asked to pay, despite it not being very busy at all. I wouldn’t go back as the service is very poor and the quality of the tea/food for the price is disappointing. There’s many better options in Bath than this place.

In response to the owner’s reply to my review, I would like to point out that we did not have burgers, and while I appreciate the fact that the food is freshly cooked, I still think that waiting 20 mins for the order to be taken, and 40 mins for the food to appear is unacceptable. Neither did we sit at a ‘used’ table; we sat where the waitress indicated, and this was a clean table. I think your waitress must have confused us with another party. The tea shop has an elegant period feel and the waiting staff wear traditional black and white, which is rather a nice touch. The toilets are downstairs, and I accidentally blundered into the kitchen by mistake when looking for them, and I'm glad to report that it all looked spotless! But the staircase is a bit steep, so take care when going down, and the ladies loo is tiny, so be prepared to wait in the corridor if necessary. But generally, I can recommend it as a traditional English tea shop. We only had the cream tea, but the baguettes, sandwiches and cakes the other customers were having looked very tasty. We found this tearoom in a prime position by Bath Abbey but it did not live up to the quality I expected. For afternoon tea I have usually experienced a ‘free refill’ of tea to accompany my scone. This was not the case hear. I’m pleased to say the scone was warm and substantial but I felt the establishment was taking advantage. The interior could be fantastic but it’s in need of significant redecoration. Sadly there was alot of crumbs on the floor by a bin (even bits of lettuce, clumsily discarded by the waiters) The toilet (x1 make, x1 female) downstairs was not in good condition- showing mould and lack of deep clean. It just needs to be renovated and redecorated- new fresh toiletrooms are vital. So I would say you are not trying hard enough to keep up standards and that is a shame in such a brilliant location! Lovely setting lovely decor. Food not brilliant, had the baguette, no choice, just white, boring lettuce with a little tomato, no dressing. Coffee served in a teacup, the sugar and condiment set were basic white, like transport cafe. There is no thought for the finer details which actually ruins the experience of what could be very pleasant with the right effort.

Poor quality food and service, a simple scone was just dry and tasteless, fine we can all get it wrong and when given the chance put it right, but the the completely disinterested server was frankly annoying. Still at least Bath has lots of great...

This place is overpriced - about £7 for what was a really mediocre ham baguette (literally just ham in bread) and tiny salad. Coffee was bitter too. I really feel the only reason they can get away with charging so much is down to the location. Unattractive toilets with unpainted pipework and rusty screws sticking out of the wall. Decor in the dining room also needs a facelift - you can be Georgian without feeling dated and the decor here definitely felt dated. Also the waitress didn't come back to give us the bill; in the end we gave up waiting and went to pay at the counter which seems really at odds with their posh tearoom theme. And then to add insult to injury the waitress lost the bit of paper with our order on so we had to repeat what we ordered from memory so she could put it back through the till. Finally on top of it all the place had the gall to add a gratuity on to the receipt.

I had classic high tea and all of them were delicious and the staffs were nice. The smoked salmon with cheese sandwiches were delicious. The chocolate cake was too sweet to me but it was good with tea. Afternoon tea and house tea were also good. Highly recommend this place for afternoon tea!

Lovely location, nice decor and cakes and tea delicious. Scones however (which is key for a cream tea) were too hard and cream and jam mass produced. Not as tasty as I'd hoped especially for the price

A charming traditional tea room. A good selection of herbal teas. We had the Citrus Rooibos tea which was refreshing. We ate here for lunch, service was good and food was excellent quality. I had scampi and chips, my husband enjoyed the steak pie and my son loved the burger and chips. The food is homecooked and tasted wonderful. So glad we popped in here during our time in Bath.

We were after a genuine tea rooms which served good old fashioned english breakfasts, toasts, cakes and scones, (not all in one sitting!) . This place is absolutely perfect.

Visited with the wife for breakfast on a Thursday morning. The full English was very good, excellent portion and service very good. Pricing is decent. Can't give it a 5* though as my wife had a latte and I think the coffee machine had an issue, was very much lacking coffee and more water. I did return the following morning for breakfast and was good (had tea though).

The times we have walked past this gem.... So glad we stopped and enjoyed tea with friends visiting Bath and, as a bonus, there was a first-class trumpeter playing in the Abbey churchyard. Many different kinds of tea and the required Bath bun. A delight.

I'm a frequent visitor to bristol airport, as my partner travels for work, so I'm often there to wait for his flights to come in. Unfortunately, there are very few options for anywhere to sit while waiting, other than cafe ritazza. Because of this, the cafe area is always busy, and all the regular/normal seating is always taken, so I have to try get my 50+yo arthritic, short arse up one one of their many Eiffel tower height stools, and if that's not hard enough, the darn things also swivel! No wonder all the other seating is always taken, and all these 'make yourself look like an ungainly idiot' seats are always free in huge numbers. Please please please cafe ritazza, rethink your seating options. Not everyone is an 8ft tall gymnasts.

I’m a travelling Australian and got excited about some home-style food but this was so bad. The rice clumped together like it was days old, the kale was discoloured and the serving size was pitiful. Could have made something much better myself for far less than the £15 I paid for this and a mediocre chai. Service wasn’t even friendly. I’m only giving it 2 stars because I had a juice there a few days ago and it was pretty decent - otherwise it would have been a one. And - on the plus side it didn’t taste terrible but the rice was a bit suss.
