Well preserved ballroom and auxiliary spaces. We found it most vibrant when the Fashion Museum was located here, as well as the fancy dress ball for JAF.

A worthwhile visit, but definitely for adults only - not a child-friendly tour. The guide was good, but talked for too long. Be aware that this site will be closing until 2026, so may not be open!

Interesting place, we made a lego painting

The Assembly Rooms were unfortunately closed on my last day in Bath but I was happy to see the outside of it.

Limited guided tours only available. Surely NT members could do the tour by themselves as the venue is large enough?

Guided tour only you have to book in advance. Toilets downstairs, no refreshments on site. Impressive size and interesting story.

Amazing and beautiful place, free for National Trust members. Several grand rooms to see. Currently limited openimg times as undergoing a renovation. Well worth a visit. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Our guide was really knowledgeable and entertaining, the rooms were so beautiful. Looking forward to when the renovations are finished, it's going to be fantastic.

We had a lovely guided tour in September when the building was undergoing considerable renovation work. The tour guide was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable and did her best with a background noise of building work. My main memory was the chandeliers which are stunning. Definitely worth a visit (especially when work has ceased).

Amazing architecture healed in history

Went on a private tour which was very interesting with a very knowledgeable guide. There are plans to build a Georgian experience in the basement to be opened in 2026

Beautiful old building - looking forward to it being out to good use by the National Trust when they've had the time to finish the archeological and preservation work it's undergoing.

Fascinating historic assembly hall, demolished by the Luftwaffe in WW2, painstakingly rebuilt in the 50s. Really well worth a visit. We were very lucky to be offered a guided tour - we didn't expect one!

such a lovely experience! I had a guided tour through the rooms and it was supposed to be 1 hour but we ended up exploring for almost 2 hours because the whole group had such an interest in the history and stories behind it! beautiful rooms and decorations! can't wait to see what they do with it once it reopens in 2026!

Lovely building, friendly staff

The limestone building has a slate hipped roof. It is rectangular with a projecting doric portico entrance and an extension to the rear. The interior is laid out in a U shape, with the larger Ball Room and Tea Room along either side with the octagonal Card Room at the end. The rooms have Whitefriars crystal chandeliers. The Ballroom has five chandeliers and capacity for up to 500 people. It is over 100 feet (30 m) long and nearly 45 feet (14 m) wide. The ceiling is 42 feet (13 m) high. The Tea Room holds up to 250 people. It was the location for a banquet attended by The Prince of Wales for the BBC television series the Great British Menu. It is 60 feet (18 m) long and 42 feet (13 m) wide. The Octagon is named for the shape of the room and has four fireplaces. It is 42 feet (13 m) across. It originally held an organ in the musicians gallery. In 1777 the Card Room was added. If you're a national trust member, then it's worth a look, but for non-members it is £9 and there are only empty rooms to see at the moment, national trust are still working on it, and are still making discoveries, they have just discovered more down in the cellars. You must book on the web- site to see it as well.

There for the Jane Austen festival. Beautiful setting and great staff.

The history of the building including the place to be seen and “find a suitor” to be a husband. Nice to know we don’t have to be with a man to have a life.

I was given a private tour in 2019 and offered permission to film part of my historical biopic here, so I pray I still can. It was lovely and had such an amazing energy. Hope to see it reopening if it's not already reopened. Cheers 🤗

Had a coffee break on our visit to Bath. It has just re-opened following Covid-19 shutdown and Felix did a grand job in getting our order together.

A small museum, so expensive for what was on offer, but lots of interesting exhibits that told the story of high fashion through the ages well. My daughter loved the dressing up area. 4 stars as value for money wasn't really there.

Rooms were fascinating, exquisitely decorated with multiple chandeliers. Pictures helped to visualise how the rooms would have looked during the Bath season.

Fairly enjoyable exhibition, however I was very disappointed to see that punk fashion wasnt represented and it seemed to miss out that very important period of fashion that was extremely influential, and saw Vivienne Westwood coming to the forefront of fashion world.

Sehr große Hallen und Säle, welche man kostenlos besuchen kann. Leider war die Ball Hall wegen einer privaten Veranstaltung zu als ich dort war. Daher habe ich nur ein paar Eindrücke von den anderen Räumen.

What a beautiful space where it is easy to imagine the balls and events that happened so long ago. Excellent audio guide to go along with it

Attended a family wedding here ,the octagon room is amazing, lots of history attached to this place well worth a visit

The assembly rooms are stunning the octagon, ballroom, tearoom , etc must have been luxury with the costumes of the day and candle light. The person who got married on a the Saturday were a lucky couple. Best check before booking on line as I didn't know that was needed and when went discovered it is hired out fir functions so these rooms were out of commission.

Claims to be open on NT web page arrived to be told NT past closed can pay separately to go round clothes museum.

Unfortunately cafe not open...also extra to visit fashion museum which had to be pre booked.

Amazing Georgian ballrooms and chandeliers, and free to visit. Highly recommended. Only takes 10 minutes to visit. Cafe and toilets on site.

There was a woman trying to sneak me into a room, unexplainable thing happened to me. It gave me anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder!!! Not very nice and think someone should get that checked out

Great opportunity to dress up 17th century style

We attended the Mozartfest in Bath. Two of the sessions we attended were held here. The acoustics made every note discernible even at the back of the room. There was an easily accessible disabled toilet and everything was on one level. Main toilets were downstairs. The staff were wonderful and there was hot and cold drinks available with free glasses of water as much as you could need. Marvellous venue for superb musical performances.

Great evening at the RUH Awards with special guest John Cleese. Congratulated some amazing people receiving their awards including my wife for the extra effort she put in last year on snow day. Food went down a treat to.

old atmosphere of Regency time dance is still there. you can imagine woman with fancy dress looking around to be danced by fancy dandy. Free entrance to visit the three main rooms: the ballroom, the tea room and the play room. A cafe is available and inside you can visit (paying a ticket) the Fashion museum.

It was a small tour but worthy of having a look into the rooms.

Encontré el café mientras visitaba las salas de asambleas. Simplemente nos detuvimos para tomar el té y el pastel, que estaba bien y no era un mal precio. El personal fue servicial y amable, pero creo que el atractivo es más para los alrededores, pero lo disfrutamos.

Además de un día con un sol expledido en un entorno igual.

Nice places to visit. Free which is a bonus. Apart from the fashion museum, which does charge a fee. Which I didn't see. The rooms are nice and large, with most looking very similar. Meaning that there is chandelier or three, and a wooden floor, with a different layouts. And a different room shape. Once I started to walk around, my wow of each room, was less and less. Looking around the room, it looks like there could have been more places to walk around. But is sadly that is closed off to the public.

No problems when you accept that this is a budget hotel

Tenía la esperanza de que se conectara algo muy pequeño a las salas de reuniones históricas. ¡Que decepcion! Simplemente lleno de tarifas genéricas externas que encontrará en cualquier lugar (supongo que todas las cosas compradas) no son ayudadas por personal poco servicial; Pedí un té con crema y me dije que me ayudara a mí mismo y obtuve un bollo con una mermelada estilo gelatina preenvasada (decepcionante) y no fue hasta que estaba a medio comer cuando fui a recoger un café cuando el servidor me preguntó si quería que la crema fuera con los bollos, ¡hubiera sido útil saber eso antes de haber comido la mitad! Se podría hacer mucho con este espacio, pero desafortunadamente solo se usa como un espacio de café genérico que encontrarás en cualquier lugar. Decepcionado.

Sometimes difficult to get into

Went to take a look but the venue was closed due to a private function. Wasn't advertised on website so disappointed.

Interesting collection of nice pieces but small. Ranges from Sir Walter Raleigh's cod piece thru' doublet and hose, Regency frocks Victoriana thru' flappers dresses and onwards to Dior and beyond. (l lied about the Cod piece-sorry!) Atmospheric venue in a gorgeous part of Regency Bath.

Must see. The museum of fashion ( housed inside) is well worth it with must visit gift shops . The assembly rooms feature great halls decorated from Georgian days featuring amazing 1.5 million pound chanadliers. Now serves community and as event wedding forum. Weekday tours. Professional staff,

Nothing much going on through out the day. Didn't visit the museum though.
