Misrepresentation. Cheap, but the room is light years from what we booked through the website. The images are really, REALLY not representative! The room smelled bad, the bathroom is from the 60's, there is mold and the shower has no pressure.

Nice hotel but was given a very bland room, why? the receptionist knew and said right away the other rooms have got something wrong with them? I think it was because we had booked through Travelzoo so palmed us of with it, room 18 nothing like the photos on the add? any way we had a afternoon tea and that was OK but it was prepaired in advanced so some of the bread had dried out, but still nice. But the worst was the breakfast, when we went for breakfast we asked the the waitress were to sit she said just sit were it says reserved I just don't care? (very nice)but the chef only made one breakfast at a time? every person was complaining, there was only about 7 couples in, but ours took over an hour to come, when a breakfast came out it would go to one couple but when another came out it would go to another couple? it was madness by the time the breakfast came to the first couple the partner had finished theres? it was like a comedy sketch, but when my wife got up to ask when our food was coming the waitress burst out crying saying I don't do breakfast? 7 couples to look after but there were 2 waitress they could not organize that, they should be ashamed of them selves, but when the breakfast finally came it was delicious, the next morning was well organized, one man was waiting on, but there was no orange juice?? Won't go again the room was basic the breakfast was a fiasco, we nearly booked out after the breakfast affair?

We are new to the area and went there expecting the usual "British standard, pre-cooked in a factory, pub grub". However, were pleased to find an intersting menu, well cooked, with good ingredients. Tastefully decorated and very pleasant staff, especially the Landlady/head waitress. We will definately be back.

Went here for a Christmas meal with a group. The food was very nice. I liked sitting in the glass house as was light and airy. Nice restaurant in a hotel. The staff were nice and helpful. I said to others in the group that I would come back here for a meal with the usual menu. Not sure what the usual menu is, but would imagine it's French/British.

My wife and I had booked for Sunday lunch with two of our teenage grandchildren. First impressions: an attractive place in a lovely setting, with ample parking. The restaurant is in a large conservatory and had wooden chairs and tables without tablecloths, but quite clean-looking. There were few other customers, so we had a choice of table. The weather was warm, so the interior had become fairly hot, despite wide open doors, and blinds covering the roof panes. We asked if some of the roof windows could be opened to release the hot air, but this proved to be too tricky an operation for the staff, so we sat and sweltered. Service was oddly slow, seeing that there were only a few other customers. Eventually our orders were taken, and eventually our starters arrived, actually well worth the wait. I chose a lamb chop for the main course, while the others selected other items. They all seemed reasonably happy with what they chose, but I had a few issues with mine: The vegetables were undercooked for my taste; The meat was dry and rather tough, and was accompanied by various vegetables that included, unannounced, some chopped chillies that I found quite distasteful and unpleasant. I have to say that there seems to be a feeling among chefs that it is the zenith of good cooking to add something hot and spicy, such as pepper, curry or, as in this case, chillies, but not everyone enjoys having their taste buds attacked in this way. I couldn’t finish the meal and ate less than half of what was on my plate. When I mentioned my disappointment to the waitress, she apologised and promised to mention it to the chef: fair enough, but a small gesture in the form of a discount would have been nice. I did enjoy the apple pie and custard that followed, however, though the portion size was rather small. What a pity! It should have been a pleasant occasion, but spoiled, for me at least, by the food itself, which after all was what we went there for. A small consolation I suppose was a fly-past by the Red Arrows, though it was gone in a flash!

The restaurant promised potential as my room was excellent and the staff I met were friendly. The evening menu was quite limited to around six dishes and I chose Battered Cod as my main course. What turned up was quite surprising it was clearly a "Captain Birdseye" or Iceland processed piece of fish which was a square portion 4" or 100 mm long. This really was "dip and fry" school dinners fare and given the very good breakfast and good lunch the next day really let them down. A colleague ordered Beef Bourguignon and this was far better. The moral is not to order anything fried as it will come out of a box.

I recall going to this restaurant years ago when it was Reeds, at the time it was one of the best in the area, sadly its lost its shine and become very average. Menu is ok, prices ok, food ok but nothing outstanding, service pretty poor even when the restaurant is near empty. I dont think I will bother to return, there are far better options locally and nothing really to bring me back here. Such a shame as it could be a great place, the venue itself is nice with potential for greatness.

Parking outside is easy. Room itself is nice enough. Staff make quite a lot of effort to do things the right way and be polite and make everything clean and tidy and so on. The real let down is the food. I got steak and chips. The steak really was appalling, such a poor quality piece of meat, chips not good and I would expect more for £19. I definitely wouldn't go back there.

We have not been to Marsh Farm for about 12 months and have to say will not be returning. We booked a table for 7pm on a Wednesday evening for 3 of us. We ordered 1 Soup and 2 Liver Parfait and 2 Steaks and 1 Fish and Chips. There was only one option for Steak which was Sirloin. After the order was placed we were approached and told that they had no Liver Parfait left so we ordered 3 soups. We were then told they only had 1 steak left!! There were only about 8 of us in the whole restaurant. The Soup Broccoli and Stilton was luke warm and bland. The Fish and chips greasy with frozen chips. The one steak at £19 we had was not great and the pork dish we ordered instead of steak was a very fatty pork chop dumped on some rather strange tasting mash!! They did take a round of drinks off the bill for the food that was not available however I will not be returning.

A lovely looking restaurant attached to the Marsh Farms hotel. I had room service and the food was very very average. My main was apparently a Cheese (add Ham for an extra £1 states the menu) ploughmans which on arrival didn't have a bread roll which pretty much makes it a salad and didn't include cheese!!So In actual fact ham replaced the cheese for an extra £1! I suggest they change the wording on the menu. The tomatoes and cucumber were tasteless and dry and there was no dressing or salad cream to accompany the salad. The brownie for dessert was ok but slightly dry.The staff are pleasant but the food and wine is very average. However if you stay in the Marsh farm hotel the rooms are spacious and clean but my room had a view of a scaffold and little else.

After a visit to the glasshouse my wife and I was left wondering if the good reviews and pictures that are on trip advisor was mixed up with a restaurant with the same name. The food we received or that was on the menu was nothing like what are in the pictures both in presitation and variety! The menu was VERY limited not much choice at all. A few reviews mentioned they had a amuse-bouche between courses, we never received one! The food matched that of what we could of received down a chain pub just charged at a much higher price. The only reason this hasn't been given the lowest rating is the staff were friendly and attentive.

Service was still slow, some might call it relaxed but for me, there was a lot of waiting and there never seemed to be enough the waiting staff. Was tempted by the local special but wasn't sure how a Cumberland sausage was local to Wiltshire? Food was surprisingly below par, Chicken wings were only ok. My fried chicken was a little burnt and my dessert with chocolate ice cream was swapped for some sort of fruit sorbet without explanation. It's a nice location, maybe just an off night?

Heading down the M4 and thought I'd stop off here for food instead of a service station as I wanted something half decent. Arrived and saw the car park was pretty full, however the restaurant was empty with only two diners. I soon realised this was more of an "hotel" restaurant rather than a go to restaurant and also soon realised why they are empty. A flustered waiter who seemed to be quite anxious about something, whose service skills lacked service. Limited to three dishes that were quite unimpressive and only two were available. Very small portions, very bland and tasteless. No drinks offered, I asked for a pint of soda water, which cost £3!! yes £3 for a pint of carbonated water, absolute joke, as is there whole service and quality of menu. even getting the bill was a challenge, I don't think they are geared up for non hotel guests. Seriously if you are taking someone out for a meal, avoid this place, it is easy to understand why it is empty as it is very under par. Wish I had local knowledge, felt robbed.

My best friend Dave, aka Doddy and I were en route back from a trip to Bristol and when we wanted to stop in Wootton Bassett on the way home, as I wanted to honour the area, as it gives so much love and prominence to the service men and women, brought back from Iraq and Afghanistan, who've sadly died in service. Tastecard, the magic enterprise that that is, flagged up the Glasshouse Restaurant and we arrived a bit frazzled, having been stuck in Bath traffic for over 2.5 hours. We had a drink in the bar, I had a cider, which I don't usually drink, as there wasn't any Peroni or say an Indian beer. The draught cider I had was delicious. We were looked after by one of the best Waiters, Table Staff ever, a lovely chap called Andrew. We were given an "amuse bouche" which was fun and delicious. A fish concoction which I adored! Doddy, not so! I then had a delicious sea bass main, with spinach gnocchi and it was divine. We were then treated to a 2nd amuse bouche, beetroot sorbet. It was yummy! A great palate cleanser! There were so many gorgeous and whacky puddings to choose from and we had the great excuse that the meal was on Tastecard, so I think we ordered 3 or 4! Ooh! How could we resist? And they were all scrummy! This meal was such a delight! Andrew really was one of the nicest waiters ever and it was a treat to meet the very talented Chef Joe too! Our starters were lovely. The main meal appeared small but having eaten it, were actually enough and was beautifully cooked. My only observation was that the food could have been a little hotter. Each course was beautifully presented and flavoursome - faultless food. We were also given extras which were not charged for - an amuse bouche, a palate cleanser and some delicious bread. Service was spot on in the bar and the restaurant. Friendly but not intrusive. Our waitress in the restaurant seemed to have a sixth sense as to when we needed her. Finally the cost of this fantastic meal....very reasonable indeed. My starter was below the £5 mark and top end mains were less than £20. We cannot wait to visit again. Waitress explained that fans had been taken to another room where they had a conference. Condition of seating was surprising - faux leather coating was missing from the top of the majority of chairs where it had cracked and peeled off - looked very shabby - not at all what we were expecting. Food when it arrived tasted good but portions were extremely small and very overpriced. Heat was so unbearable in the restaurant that we moved to sit outside to eat our desserts. After our meal we wanted to stay and chat for a while longer but we felt like they wanted to get rid of us so they could set up the tables for breakfast. Fair enough but could they have not offered us coffee in the lounge instead? We didn't want to stay any longer anyway and we just left. Not a pleasant evening really. Gave the place another chance by visiting with a group in December for a Christmas meal. Vegetables were virtually raw and the vegetarian meal was terrible. A flat circle of pastry with a bit of raw broccoli placed on it. Disgusting. I went home hungry and my stomach was rumbling. Had to eat something when I arrived home as I was so hungry. Will never go here again (hopefully).

I visited the restaurant for a function. The soup was ok that was the best part of a meal. The main course was a mushroom risotto which could only be described as a vomitus pile on a plate. The leaf dressing looked liked a couple of blades of grass The portion was a blessing it was small. The chief should of been ashamed to of presented it There was no leaf dressing to speak of the mushrooms were non existent. The mush lay naked and grey on the plate devoid of colour. Poor presentation The sweet was the next joke a mousse was such a small portion that it was pitiful a lone pistachio lay next to it with two small cubes of a tasteless jelly and a sliver of a sticky non brittle toffee substance lay by it's side The function was good because of the company. The food was some of the worst I have ever eaten in my life. The potion served left you thankful once you seen and tasted it that it was so small you would think they had brought back rationing This restaurant needs to sack their cook. As they are by no means a chief and should go back to college for training and such a establishment should be ashamed for presenting that substandard food. I can hand on heart say I would recommend this restaurant to anyone

We dined here on a Saturday evening, and the restaurant was fairly empty - but, apparently, this was because they had a party of 12 dining in a private dining room. In addition, the hotel did have the foresight to ask us to change our booking time so that we did not clash with this party. The reason we chose this restaurant is because it offers 2 for 1 meals to Gourmet Society members, which makes the prices very reasonable, and, unusually, they allow this offer on Saturday evenings. We had mussels and mushrooms on toast for starters. Both arrived in good time, and were tasty - but both plates were cold, and the food was only just warm. For main we had pork belly and plaice. The plaice was a good serving (with borlotti beans), but the pork came only with a small serving of mash, and a very small serving of cabbage. We could have done with more vegetables, but were not advised that this may be required by the staff. For dessert, we had what was described as bitter chocolate tart, which was not bitter at all, and a yoghurt panna cotta which was served on what looked like a few dropped broken biscuits.Overall, we would describe the food as OK, but only because of the 2 for 1 offer we had.Service was not OK, however. We were seated OK, with menus, but no wine list or drinks list. When asked what soft drinks were available, we were told the usual selection. This is a particular bugbear of ours - to have to make a soft drink selection without being able to see a list of what is available. The only drinks list available was the wine list, which we were eventually given, but that had nothing but wine on.Service continued to be poor throughout the evening, with the staff making no effort to say very much at all. There was also no sign of any senior member of staff in the restaurant, so I'd say this was probably due to lack of training on the hotel's part.Overall, an average meal, with poor service, only made acceptable if you get the 2 for 1 offer (although a few days later we had a set menu meal at a Brasserie Blank for an almost identical price that was way better than this).

My husband had a business colleague visiting from the USA who wanted a traditional Sunday lunch! Lunch was indeed excellent and at under £17 for three courses, also suberb value for money. Choice of meats was rather limited with only beef or chicken (I was particularly disappointed that there was no lamb!) We all ordered beef and were not disappointed with the amount served or the quality. My chocolate dessert was divine and the cheeseboards were thoroughly enjoyed. We were very surprised that there were barely any other diners as when we have visited in the past it has always been very busy. On booking we were asked if we could book 15 minutes earlier than our requested time so we were expecting them to be full to capacity! Maybe this is because of inconstancies described by another reviewer. However, on this occassion we had a most enjoyable lunch, in a lovely building, with friendly service and all for an amazing price.

We did tell the staff about this and hopefully they have changed their supplier or made more of an effort with the potatoes. The Menu was good, but we were most disappointed that they no longer had an excellent dessert which we had had previously. It was served in a cup and was a cappuchino something (I can't remember exactly what) and that was delicious.A very pleaseant atmosphere and the staff were extremely helpful. We also had breakfast in the restuarant, which was very good.

We had two evening dinners here whilst staying at the hotel. The first night was a '3 courses for £17' Sunday roast menu which was surprisingly good and we thought excellent value for money. The service was okay - friendly and fairly efficient. The second night's meal was quite different. The restaurant had run out of quite a few items on the menu but they didn't tell us until we started to order our food. We had a hilarious experience with the cheese board - our 2 menus said two different things so we asked the waitress which cheeses were included and she went away to check with the chef and came back to tell us what they were. We ordered the cheeseboard which turned out to have one very dry slice of cheese plus another cheese we'd just been told wasn't on the menu. The waitress then tried to tell us that there was no mistake - but did eventually take it away (slightly reluctantly) when we requested a replacement slice for the very dry piece. The board then came back with two new slices of something completely different, and the waitress confirmed that actually they didn't have any of the local cheese left. So apologies for such boring detail about the cheeseboard, but we saw a few other diners having similar experiences that same evening - it was a bit chaotic with the waitresses trying to pretend everything was just fine. Almost like Fawlty Towers!! You expect more if you're paying those kind of prices.NB restaurant closes at 9pm most evenings!

We ate here for a week and had three meals a day. I would give some 5 stars - yes they can do that - others would barely get two stars. It really depends on the people who are cooking and quality varies dramatically. We ate the same soup for three days. One day is was fabulous, the next it was very good and the third time we didn't touch it because it was so salty but the mains were really good. Sometimes it melts in your mouth other times hard and difficult to cut. When the main chef gets back from paternity leave I'm sure it will be much better.

As a family we were all looking forward to this day, Sunday Lunch at Marsh Farm!! Niece had wedding reception there a few years ago, parents celebrated golden wedding anniversay there, brother his silver wedding anniversary. we thought based on our previous experiences we were in for a treat!! How wrong were we!! Starter wasn't too bad edible not great!! Main meal came Roast Beef tough as old shoe leather!! Duck fat roast potatoes rock hard seemed like they were cooked a couple of days before, left out and re heated!! Yorkshire pudding was so dry when cut in to it it disintegrated!! waited for at the very least 20 minutes before asking for the veg that was supposed to arrive with the main meal. Was told by one of the waitresses "yeh it will be with you in a minute, won't be long", we had to wait a further 15 minutes before it came, by which time the tough Beef was cold which made it tougher!! my nephew found a hair in his food, my daughters chicken was dry!!we waited for the gravy to turn up which we had to ask for, when it eventually came it was so salty it was inedible!! One of the childrens meals was so salty it had to be sent back! Even had to ask for the tables to be cleared, service and food was terrible really ruined my parents diamond wedding celebrations. A day that should have been so special!! on top of that they wanted to charge us for the meals saying there was a lot of us!! and that some of the food was eaten, of course some of it was eaten that's how we knew it was terriblle!! as an observation, there were hardly any tables in at all!! so poor food and poor service there was really no excuse for! we were supposed to have a table of 16 which included 2 high chairs, we were seperated because there was a leak in the ceiling, instead of finding us somewhere where we could all sit together,. No sign or bucket was placed to highlight the wet dripping area, although another leak started in the bar too, this one did have a hazard sign put by it. We didnt want to have the day ruined any further so asked for some sparkling wine for a toast to my parents and the cake that we brought with us to be carried out! That took the staff a further hour to bring that out!!! hugely disappointed for my mum and dad !! Noticed that the waitresses seemed to be stood around talking and congragating in the bar doorway area, rather than trying to see if there customers were comfortable and happy very poor show indeed!!

Went to Marsh Farm Hotel today for a family occasion meal. Having dined their (a couple of years ago) previously we all had high hopes. Unfortunately the service was lack lustre and although some of the provided meals were acceptable. The beef, apparently aged 28 days, would better serve as shoe leather, the Yorkshire puds were fine but the potatoes roasted in duck fat were not at all crispy as I would have expected but more akin to something I would expect from a poorly funded 1970's works canteen. Sadly unimpressed!

Pub was empty, waiter/landlord still insisted no prams as it blocks pathways (plenty of space). Food arrived cold, “vegan” menu was unflavoured potato curry. Held off this review for 2 years but I had nightmares again.

We booked for a family lunch yesterday. Restaurant is lovely and staff were very welcoming. Our starters were amazing, absolutely delicious. Though the roast was very average in my opinion. We had roast pork which stated it came with stuffing. It wasn’t on the plate so we had to ask for that. The lady did bring out 2 stuffing balls but we had 3 roasts. Carrots were very hard. Very average for the price I would say. We did have a lovely time and we will definitely be back, but will just probably go for something else other than a roast next time.

A great lunch or casual dinner place is right in the supermarket! We had a great meal when we just went in for a quick snack after a successful food shopping trip. Kudos to the kitchen staff, especially JASON, who made us feel welcome and served up some great food (fish and chips, cheeseburgers, fries, hamburgers, chicken nuggets for the children). I'd go back any time we're shopping in Chippenham.

As I’m a northerner Harry Ramsdens is very close to my heart,so when I visited the one in Swindon I was a little apprehensive about what they would serve up. It was all superb, and the staff were so friendly as well. Definitely worth a visit.

Have stayed here 3 times before.also have stayed in numerous wetherspoons hotels and recommended them to everyone.i have to say we were quite disappointed this time.the staff were very helpful but this hotel needs a serious makeover.our room although bed and very quite wasn't the best.air con not working although we had a heater which was sufficient heating the room.and in all fairness the lovely guy who checked us in told us about it and said if we needed another heater to let him know.towel heater didn't work and tv lost tv channels!!!.OK if you wanted to watch kids cctv.the shower took a age to drain.sad to say but next visit to Salisbury won't be staying here unless major refurbishment.
