We always have a good meal in the Glass Maker, there is plenty of room, tables well-spaced, all very clean. My friend had the all-day brunch, and I had the chicken jalfrezi. All perfect! Staff are really nice, so jolly and friendly! Toilet pristine! Highly recommended!

I generally enjoy visiting the Glassmaker but was treated with rudeness and inservility by the Duty Manager ( a young man with ginger hair) yesterday without reason other than he simply could not cope with his job and decided instead to take it out on some of his customers. If I encounter such borish treatment again I shall not be back.

Not happy with the queuing system, as there is no signs where to queue and who is next in line. The manager and staff have to do something better on that, as someone what was behind me push in front of me and got up to close.

We love the Glass Make in Nailsea! It's our favourite Wetherspoons by far! My companion had scampi, chips and garden peas, I had chicken jalfrezi with two poppadoms (most places give you one!). Friend had half a lager and I had water with ice and lemon. Staff are friendly and efficient. Toilets are pristine! Highly recommended!

My daughter and her friend ( both 14 ) went to this pub to eat today but were turned away as ‘ they have to be 16 without an adult ‘. They went yesterday and were served , but I was told today ( by the girl who served them yesterday ) that it’s a ‘ new rule ‘ !!!.When I asked to speak to the manager , she obviously didn’t have the experience to deal with my complaint. Either there s a rule that applies every day or not ... They simply wanted a wrap and chips and had face masks . They weren’t asking for alcohol . Why the change today .??? Surely these businesses need all of the income they can get

First off our experiences of eating their main meals have in the main been good, however their breakfasts are a different story. For the third and final time today we were served breakfasts that BOTH had different items missing. My wife’s missing her eggs, mine missing bacon and a sausage. The eggs we were served were shrivelled up to the point of cremation and the thimble of baked beans hardly warrant it being called a big breakfast. The drinks station was also as ever lacking fresh milk, with the member of staff I asked about a refill pointing me to another station - where again that had a thimbles worth of milk left in it. The server (who was covering from another branch) was cracking, polite and professional and rectified immediately. He stated that the chefs were rude to him when he informed them of the missing items, blaming him for taking it too soon. If that’s the case then who was responsible for the last two times stuff was missing?? The bacon is also borderline anaemic and undercooked to the point of tasting like a rasher of ham. Why this branch can’t cook a decent breakfast I don’t know, especially as the numerous times we have eaten main meals there have always been fine. Having made a special trip there today to get there for brekkie and being served that lukewarm rubbish I can say I won’t be back for another. The reason for the 2 star is because as a branch I like the atmosphere, the toilet facilities and have had some decent main meals in there. Breakfasts I’ll score a 0. Thanks again to the mail server who was covering today (15/2) his humour, courtesy was well received by us and we noted he was equally as polite and friendly to other customers

I was horrified to to see a girl come into the kitchen with her long hair dangling which she bunched up into a pony tail and then was coughing a lot in the kitchen. She was just coming on duty. She came back in with her wherspoon clothes on, but she was coughing all the time. She put her hand up the her mouth but I saw her actually handling food on the plates under the heaters. She had no gloves on. I heard her coughing on and off all the time i was in there and in the background when she went out of the kitchen.. Health and safety would not approve of this and they need to know that|

Went with a party of 4 on a Saturday night . Always been happy with food and service on many previous occasions - so was looking forward to a great catch up with friends. 3 of the party decided on Pizza - only to be told there was only one pizza available - being this at only 8pm - found this to be strange!!!. Anyway , one of the party decided to have Ham Egg nd Chips instead - well about 6 chips and one fried egg which was so rubbery if it was dropped on the floor it would have bounced. Another one of us decided on Sausage Mash nd onion gravy (always a previous favourite) 3 dried sausages a spoonful of Mash and somewhere at the bottom of the plate was a minute spot of gravy. The one pizza (which we were 'lucky' enough to get, was so dry and the toppings were curled over. This was such a disappointing meal - so far down standard to what it was. I suggest that you 'Mr JD Weatherspoon' - starts to look at your own standards before being critical of the Jamie Oliver chain . Your once excellent standards are going down - shame.

Really nice Wetherspoons with good service. Food is good,in particular the pizzas. Never had a problem ordering with the app which speeds everything up. Only issue is that every time (and I do mean every time) I go in there are tables covered in empty glasses and plates. I appreciate it gets very busy but when staff bring desert and leave the empty plates from the main you start to see why. So frequently they walk back to the bar/kitchen empty handed everywhere just gets messy. If they could be told to grab anything empty in between trips it would go a long way to keeping the place tidy.

We all enjoyed our meal but I made a mistake when ordering drinks before the meal (as usual in other pubs) only to find a drink was included in most of the meals. The deputy manager, Harry, handled the situation really well in a polite and calm way. When we had paid for the full value of the meals including the drink, he refunded the cost of the smaller drinks so that it worked out that we paid the exact right amount. He was very competant with the computerised till and inferred it was no hassle despite it being a busy lunchtime. I subsequently knocked over my drink and Harry calmly took over getting napkins to mop up about 200ml of cider - all done with a smile and helpful manner. Just like what a good manager should be.

Would just have to be when I take 4 lads in that have never been to Spoons. Service! Well they’ve just brought a new meaning to the word. 10 mins waiting in queue for a drink so we bought 2 each to save time. Ordered food at the same time to save time. Food came served by only what I can describe a girl who didn’t want to work there. Her attitude was one of not wanting to be there. ‘Chicken’ not ‘who ordered the chicken’. I had a pulled chicken burger which was cold and had what looked like small squares of chicken? I said to her sorry but this isn’t a pulled chicken burger as your menu picture and description suggest and has very little meat inside‘ ‘Well it ain’t my fault is it’? After saying that we weren’t saying it was your fault I asked her to take it back warm it up and would it be possible to put some chicken in it! If looks could kill I would be hung drawn and quartered. Came back cold and what looked like cat food on the top? There was no here’s your order sir and sorry to make you wait 15 minutes!! just flung it on the table.

We visit this place about 3 or 4 times a week - usually mornings for coffee/tea etc. Occasionally we visit mid afternoon for food, mainly steak Tuesdays or curry Thursdays where the food is ok to quite good. It's generally well patronised mornings and afternoons by all sorts and ages. It's generally cleanish, though places like the window ledges are frequently missed and in relation to the tables, it really depends on which teams are on duty at the time. Some are very efficient with tables cleared and cleaned quickly with team leaders doing their bit, but others, the leadership appears lazy and disinterested which means their staff have to really chase their tails to try and do and keep up with everything.

We use wetherspoons on a regular basis. Unfortunately though today I had to send back my meal which was lasagne as it was cold. I took it to the bar and asked for it to be warmed up and then waited, and waited and waited. Eventually when every body else had finished I went and asked about my missing meal which should only have taken a minute to heat up. A while later the waitress brought it back and I then continued. Whilst I was eating a further 3 tables were sending back there food due to it being cold. I really don't know what has happened here because it was a very nice place to visit and always very good. There was several tables that had been empty whilst we were there but still had crockery and glasses still left. Also there are treads missing on the stairs gong to the toilets. All in all it is looking a bit grubby as if it needs a good clean. So unfortunate as I feel this will lose them customers over time who will venture across the road, but I feel it needs a little bit of attention to detail.

This pub is really unfairly judged from most. With new management, who may I add has never been a pub manager before, the pub is doing really well. The staff are (mostly) friendly, paying particular attention to shift leader Luke and associate Dom. Whenever I am in there they make me feel very welcome, and the place is always run to a great standard. Me and my friend came in for a few drinks on Tuesday night, where the pub manager was met with abuse from a customer (and was subsequently barred), and she took it very well and in her stride. Whoever designs the layout of this establishment should talk to the real regulars, recently they decided to move 2 tables and replace it with a fruit machine consequently splitting up a large regular group who are now trying to source alternative pubs who encourage regulars to meet up with their friends, totally disgusted with the lack of respect shown to us.

As a frequent diner at the Glass Maker I wasn't at all surprised at the mixed reviews on TripAdviser. Nor am I surprised that they are getting increasingly worse. There is no doubt that Tim's management team have produced a great range of incredibly priced food & drink at reasonable levels of quality. Unfortunately this is let down by the complete hit & miss level of service dependant on who is serving, waitering or catering on the day. Hence the disastrous reviews one day followed by glowing ones the next. As previously reported, tables are generally not cleaned properly, dirty plates hang around for ages & staff don't treat customers as their first priority. You often have to wait longer than necessary to be served even when the place is empty. It's such a shame because the potential, with a little more care, is still there.

Not as good a breakfast as usual. Possibly changed their sausages. Also, how can bacon be made so bad. It's like cardboard, all the time.

Being local, I've had regular visits to the local 'spoons', but I have to say it's looking tired and in need of an atmospheric boost in light of strong local competition on offer in the surrounding area. Whilst always offering great value for money, I do wonder if investment in the chains Hotel side of things is leading to lack of investment in it's bread and butter trade.

Visited this pub previously and always enjoyed it. A couple of years down the road and have to say was shocked and saddened to see it has gone downhill. Doesn't look like a cleaner has been in for some time. Looks nothing like the pictures on the web. Everything was dirty, tables looked like they had just had food wiped into them instead of off with a dirt cloth. Tables had dirty crockery all over. Menus were dirty and sticky. No carpet in part of pub? Just a dusty concrete floor? No staff to be seen in the 10mins we were there. Needless to say this put us off straight away as first impressions count for me.

I have been three times and each time has been worse than the last. The first time my wife ordered a curry which the menu said comes with nan. No nan. When we asked the waiter he simply shrugged and said they don't have any. Isn't it illegal to charge for something and then not deliver? Next time I ordered all day breakfast which came with no sausages. The waiter promied to bring them and never returned. Surely again this is illegal? The last time (and I mean last) the tables were disgusting and it took them ages to clean them and then they were still dirty. How on earth can anyone run a pub like this? I know the manager keeps saying sorry we got it wrong but surely needs to do more or find another job?

Went for an impromptu brunch and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. I had the American pancakes, bacon and maple syrup which were extremely tasty. I was impressed there was no skimping on the maple syrup. My partner had the smoked salmon bagel which was nicely presented and very nice. The traditional breakfast was enjoyable too.Value for money was excellent. Will be returning.

One of the growing number of JW Wetherspoon pubs and restaurants, Although the portions are not quite what they used to be, they are still more than ample. They have dropped the carvery from the Sunday menu which is a shame, Small gripe aside, excellent value food. The restaurant can get a little noisy at times but still a pleasant place for an good value meal,

I have seen this restaurant many times on my way to the office, but as a vegetarian, I thought maybe not many options for me, but I had visited once and I saw lots of options for veg. My personal fav is Mexican Veg burger It was so good that I had the burger for a complete week at lunch time. I love eating burgers and I had a very good test as well I really can tell they had a wonderful burger in the town.Do visit it

Finished an enjoyable walk at 11.45, ordered breakfast in The Glasscutter, a full English for £3.25, and was served at the table within 15mins, plates warm, and food good. Can't go wrong if a meal with no frills is what you want.

Lovely meal out with friends. Food was good and reasonably priced. Served quickly too. Nice casual dining. As part of each nights meal deal you get a free drink. We didn't have to book although some nights it can get very busy and you will need to wait to be seated.

Yesterday I took my Mother for a late breakfast. There was insufficient staff. Tables were dirty and not cleared. No apology for taking so long to serve. The bacon was cold. It is such a pity as Nailsea has so few places to eat. Wetherspoons need to sort this as otherwise it will just be the beer drinkers there on a Sunday morning!

Went for a meal with my family on a Wednesday night. Arrived and placed our order at 8pm. The barman who took the order said that the food would take 40 - 50 minutes but we said that would be OK. At 8:45pm a waitress came over to the table and said that the veggie burgers that we'd ordered (45 minutes before) were not available and took our replacement order. Another 20 minutes passed and another waitress came to the table and told us that the veggie burgers on the order were not available and would we like to order something else. I explained that we had already changed our order 20 minutes before and was told the order on the computer still showed veggie burgers. At this point I explained that I wanted the manager. 5 minutes later (after the manager was dealing with another customer complaint!) the manager came over and listened to the whole story and said she would find out what had happened and as I started to complain more vehemently remembered that she had seen the change of order and would get our meals sorted. We were offered soft drinks or a hot drink in recompense which we did not want - just our meals! The food did arrive with a burnt bap for one of our burgers and the grilled chicken which my mother had, was burned solid and inedible at one end. My onion rings were chewy and not crisp but I ate them anyway as the 1 hr 20 min wait had made me rather hungry. We had no further visits or offers of compensation and I did not hang around to discuss the calamitous evening. I have enjoyed many visits to Wetherspoons establishments in the past, including this one, but will not be in any hurry to return to this establishment. They need to sort out communication between serving and catering staff big time!Beer was good

It's a damn good breakfast. I have eaten far worse and paid a lot more so very happy with the freshness of the large breakfast which certainly is a big plateful. Unlimited black coffee makes this total value for money. Downside. It's a bit smelly. Carpets could do with a really good clean and the toilets ponged although they were actually visually clean. Needs a but if TLC but the food was spot on as was the service.

Had a family meal here late Sunday afternoon. The pub was quite quiet, which was nice, and was pleased that the table top was not at all sticky! The food came out to us quickly and was very tasty & enjoyed by all. One of the parties drinks (cask ale) was a bit off and it was exchanged quickly and without fuss by a member of staff, which was much appreciated. This place does get very busy and can be a bit of a nightmare at those times, but off peak it was great to visit.

Went for breakfast a few weeks back ordered the large breakfast and a drink. After the drink was severed was told that I would have to wait an hour and a half for breakfast. When asked why it would take so long at half 11 in a near empty pub to cook breakfast we were just given a mumbled excuse. Needless to say we chose to eat somewhere else

Went to wetherspoons today with a friend. The last time i visited 3 weeks ago my napkin had blood on it i complained and just got brushed off discusting. I came back today to give it another go as i am a regular normally but every time i visit something else happens. This time the girl serving showed no interest of wanting to be there no eye contact nothing. Then she got food order wrong. We then got questioned to show our receipts because the chef was not happy how do you think we felt. Once again my napkin was filthy. Wetherspoons in nailsea has completly gone down hill since a few members of staff have left. Service appaling, tables floor filthy and staff apart from one manager dam right rude. I made a complaint before back in april seems nothing has changed very disappointing.

Me and my partner regularly attend on an afternoon and it is always barren. The odd customer maybe but the staff very rarely approach and only 2 of the managers on site were at all communicative. It felt very cold and the floors could of been a little cleaner. The table tops were quite often sticky and about half the time we ordered there was a problem with the meals.I do not recommend.

Was enjoying a casual Saturday night in the garden area with friends talking about how leaving the EU could effect our lives. I then walked through the gate at the back to answer my phone. The bouncer then swore at me and said why are you using the gate. I responded there is no sign not to use the gate please don't swear. I was then pushed and barred by the bouncer for being drunk. Seeing as I rarely drink and the bouncer is not a doctor who couldn't provide evidence of me being drunk. He would need to have taken a blood test to prove this. The bouncer just assumed i was intoxicated. I was later invited back to the branch for a free meal from a complaint previously about poor service. The same bouncer and manager denied me entry even though I had invitation.

Sunny day so we took advantage and sat outside and ordered drinks to the app at 2.50pm. Pint and vodka & orange. At 3.10 I went inside to see how long they would be drinks a rude tall woman with dark hair shouted at me ‘our screen is saying 25 mins can u see we busy’ no sorry just rude! So we decided to go and get served at the bar as there was no wait. We actually drank these then at 3.35 went to see where our drinks where that I ordered at 2.50! We eventually got them at 3.45. Then we ordered food which came within 15 mins. 👌Chicken bites were lovely! Garlic bread had no taste of garlic and the cheese chips lol see photo - what cheese. The female staff behind the bar need to learn how to use manners and SMILE. What a mirsable bunch. At least the male staff were friendly and welcoming. Won’t be going to this place again.

Consistently the best carvery I've eaten which is why I keep on returning with friends and family. Freshly cooked, hot and tasty. Although it is very busy on Sunday, the staff are always polite, friendly and efficient. Movenpick Ice-Cream is a real favourite (not easily found in the UK, so even more extra special).

The dining staff completely ignored my presence, so much so that I had to get up and ask at the bar for the pudding to be served. Their either need to train their staff to look the part and act the part or give up. Breakfast the following morning was similar, I had three staff not 4 feet from my table discussing their shift patterns at the top of their voices. I should have got up and asked them politely to move their discussions away from the paying guests but I did not.

We visited at the end of September, the food was pleasant enough although service slow. Decided to visit again a week later and waited 50 minutes for a 3 ingredient side salad and a simple pasta dish. Both occasions resulted in receipt of £100 fines for parking on the premises yet at no time did staff or signage alert us to the need to register our vehicle. This is so careless on the staff's behalf, and has resulted in locals deciding not to use the venue - nobody would willingly add £100 to their light-lunch bill nor go through the hassle of appealing fines simply because staff can't be bothered to advise visitors. Alas, I have 2 fines (£200) on appeal and I am presently awaiting the outcome. No plans to visit again - why would I?
