Lovely atmosphere, staff are very friend - special mention to Daisy and Mara always love to see them on a Monday!! Food was great as well!! Love the lunch deal from £7!!

popped in on a saturday afternoon, was served by a guy called Dave, nice guy quick and good at his job, and a nice knowledge of football.

I love this pub!!! Every encounter I've had with the staff in this place has been 10/10. Mara in particular is always amazing when I come in on Fridays after work, honestly can't recommend this place enough, they look after their customers just as much as they look after their beer. Great range, great beer garden, great pub!!!

The best pub in South woodford! The service is amazing and the team cannot do enough for you. The prices are great and the selection of drinks even better 👍🏼 I would recommend the Sunday roast it was delicious cooked by the amazing chefs Lyes and Martin 😋 The bar team are attentive and you never have to wait long for a drink. A special thank you to Ben, Daisy, Chris and Keilty for always looking after me and my friends ❤ Cannot wait for my next visit!

Came to the pub for a burger and football. All staff were great and welcoming. Our waitress mara served us to our tabke during the match which was a pleasant surprise. Mara’s hospitality skills are extremely impressive

You are always guaranteed friendly customer service, a decent feed and good entertainment every time you go to the South Woodford George. With a sun facing beer garden that captures all day long warmth, a pull down screen for big sports events and such amenities...

The George is a great traditional British pub which caters for all age groups and families. It has a wide selection of lagers, ales and spirits and the Guinness is one of the best quality around. The food menu is extensive and very reasonably priced. I plumped for the mix grill which was excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. Karaoke on a Thursday is great night out. It is also a great venue to watch sport and the front garden is a sun trap from morning to the late evening. I would highly recommend a visit.

The grey hair waiter almost made me cry with the tone he ordered us to move back to the table where we was sitting as we have dared to move to the table under the roof when the hell stones started falling. Never experienced such an attitude from a member of a hospitality staff. So many enthusiastic people are looking for work, someone like him should not be dealing with public if he has no manners. Very disappointed and humiliated. Will never return.

Had a great time today fantastic pub brilliant social distancing going on and the staff are so friendly and polite I would totally recommend the George to people. I miss the karaoke nights and quiz nights but hopefully things will be back to normal one day .

Estoy discapacitado y soy un visitante habitual. El personal del bar siempre recibe mi taburete en el bar donde prefiero sentarme. Siempre alegre. No puedo enumerar a todo el personal, pero Mara, Lesley, Ben, Charlie y Daisy son solo algunos. Steve el gobernador también muy amable. . Sus comidas especiales diarias tienen una excelente relación calidad-precio y el lunes es el lunes club con cerveza y botella de vino de la casa más barato.

La comida estaba bien, pero nadie viene a verificar si todo está bien una vez que se entrega la comida, por lo que si no ha notado un artículo que falta de inmediato o si desea un artículo adicional, no tiene suerte, debe dejar su comida a ir frío mientras vas al bar o esperar a ver si pasa un miembro del personal, cuando finalmente llamé la atención de un miembro del personal, mi comida estaba casi terminada, así que mi salsa faltante era irrelevante, la señora que entregaba la salsa se disculpó pero mi comida se había echado a perder para entonces, esto podría evitarse fácilmente con solo revisar las mesas.

Acabamos de tener un blanco medio blanco y una pinta de Guinness por poco menos de diez.Un montón de jóvenes que tienen bebidas tranquilas.Nos sentamos en un cómodo asiento en la parte de atrás, cerca de las estanterías que se ven bien a pesar de que los libros no son reales. This was a last minute visit on a Sunday it was fairly quiet. We had a combination of pub food and roasts and they were a good pub standard with fair service. Nothing wow but nothing awful but wouldn't be my first choice.

George is a great pub to watch football and eat and when the sun is out but it is not the same without the barman called Dave Mann working

Vaping is no longer allowed but it would appear that smoking weed/dope is fine as long as it's in the toilet.

Always full of atmosphere with good service. Pub food is good and overgenerous but it is pub food. The variety of beers and wines is good and a good time will be had by all visitors

Es comida de pub bastante normal, pero bien preparada y servida rápidamente, así que si sólo quieres un sitio donde poip para un almuerzo rápido o una temprana algo, es genial. Una razonable variedad de cervezas y vinos y el personal eficiente.

Fuimos en una noche tranquila el martes. Buena variedad de ale, SKY TV, pub grub estándar. En el fin de semana supongo que el lugar podría ser abarrotada como hay también una amplia zona al aire libre.

As you'd expect very busy and unplanned/unbooked visitors to restaurant and pub at this time of year. Staff coped with this extremely well. Slightly disappointed that some items not available on menu but like I said this is due to the time of year. Staff always very accommodating and very friendly. Food is of good quality and priced very reasonably too. Would definitely recommend to others.

Went to pub which is next door to the cinema. The food portions are very big even on the lunch menu. The staff are really nice and the service really good.

I've past the George many times, we gave it a try and had a really pleasant time. Friendly bar staff, good service. Definitely worth another visit.

Whether we need a mid week meal, a quiet drink or Sunday lunch we love it here. We don't tend to go on busy evenings but love the feel of the George. It attracts such a range of people and everyone seems welcome.

My boyfriend took me here for dinner last month and the food was fantastic! We sat outside for drinks after our meal and the outside area was beautiful and perfect for a warm summer evening. Our waitress was incredible also and made our night even more enjoyable with her friendly manor.

I have been to the George a number of times. Every time I have been its been packed with a fantastic atmosphere! Never tried the food but it always smells and look good. Drinks are reasonable. The only negative point was that there were no tables and chairs outside at the time I was there, however, on passing I have notice that this has been sorted.

Nice pub in a good location. Good range of beers, realistically priced for the area, did not eat but th food looked good, again at reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and leads to a really nice feel to the place.

I've been to The George several times especially when I'm at the South Woodford Odeon which is just next door {it's the ideal combination for a complete night out} Lets start with the food & drink - good honest, fresh pub food, well presented at really reasonable prices.Today, for lunch I had Club sandwich (chicken, bacon and avocado) minus the chips which was actually made on farmhouse bread rather than regular "packet" bread (nice touch) for just £5.95I like Kopperberg fruit ciders and they had the Mango & Raspberry which is hard to come by so I was impressed {they also let me have it in a Stella Artois glass which I favour for this particular tipple}.Now to the seating - we're really spoilt for choice. Inside you have the bar and to the left the "pub" tables, to the right a proper restaurant area with individual booths which I really like. However I always favour sitting outside as they have masses of square tables with umbrellas and then wooden bench tables usually with lovely potted plants on, when it's not windy. There's even a lovely floral centrepiece in the outdoor area so lots of care it taken on all areas of presentation.Yes, this is on a main road but I'll be honest, I loved sitting out here as I sort of ignore the traffic so its still a little oasis of loveliness.I have had full meals here, usually steak & chips and every time this chain comes up with excellent food.The chefs may be cooking pub grub at a low price but they always do so with care, pride and I've always left very happy (and I'm tough to please). Staff are lovely, today two young lads, Harry & Jack chose my lunch for me {I had a short list} so there's a nice, relaxed, fun atmosphere. I'd highly recommend paying a visit when you're next around South Woodford. It's ideal for large parties or groups though it does get really busy at weekend and in the summer so I'd advise phoning in advance to reserve tables.

The place is nothing great at all, but at the same time with the very notable exception of the gent toilets which need to be burned down to remove the smell off stale piss alone. The pub is ok, regulars which seem to crowd the bar like it, probably because they get served before anyone else and out of turn. It's a regulars pub and that is all, I would like to say the food is good, but as a microwave or a combie oven clearly cooks it, all i can say is it comes to your table in reasonableish time and it canBe eaten. It's just another company if with company staff.

Very busy hard to get served at bar as people sitting at bar make it harder to get attention. visited on a Saturday and the Combo listed on menu was not available !! so they lost out on food. ordered chips etc. served up OK hot and crispy likewise the calamari were a reasonable portion

Fish and chips, steak pie, big choice of beers, real buzz about the pub. Order and pay at the bar, less than fifty quid for two including a decent bottle of red. Authentic!

The first pub we went in London and it was in fact a very old pub still maintained in very good condition. The Beer was very good and there was a huge crowd of people.

Went here on a recommendation from a cab driver on a rainy day. We were at the old Operating room. The gentleman told us to walk down the street and look for an alley that isn't an alley. Very cool place, like stepping back in time. The food was typical pub and the beer were good as well. Very friendly wait staff

The Bricklayers Arms is hidden away in an alley just off Borough High Street in London. It is one of the oldest functioning coaching inns left in London.The pub is made up of a series of small rooms most of which are connected. As you face them from the courtyard, the entrance to your far right is not connected but is my favourite part of the pub. Dimly lit, with a wonderful fireplace in the winter it has rough tables and benches and reminds of what the Bricklayers Arms must have been like in its early days.The other bars are a bit brighter and more comfortable but not quite as atmospheric. Upstairs you will find private rooms and the dining room.The food at the Bricklayers is classic English fare with roasts, pies and fish and chips. It is well made and taste fine but wouldn't rate as one of the best meals that I have ever had. Certainly a good place for a Sunday lunch.The other wonderful bit of the Bricklayers is that in the summer there is outdoor seating in the cobbled courtyard. On a work day it is usually heaving with locals stopping for a drink before them head home via the nearby London Bridge Station.A great place for a drink and a taste of London as it once was.
