Wonderful place, strapping young lad on bar with curly hair had excellent customer service, brilliant food and once again the bar staff were incredible

Pop in periodically after a shopping trip just to rest my feet. Very busy the last time I visited..but then again it's coming up to the Christmas period

Party of 22 people staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble would highly recommend the George Hotel good food at good prices

What can we say other than an amazing place to visit, there were 22 of us and from booking our meal to arriving on the day every thing went so well, the kitchen staff catered for all our individual needs, the front of house staff were welcoming and friendly. We would highly recommend The George in Hailsham for anyone looking a nice meal

It's a weatherspoons. Cheap drinks, great atmosphere. All members of stuff helpful. What more do you need for a quick drink or 2?

Always terrific value. Always so busy , no matter which day of the week or time we arrive, but always, to date , have managed to find an empty table. The coffee can't be beaten, on price or quality, easily as good as the far more expensive coffee shops and the food never disappoints .

Always great drinks and food, staff are excellent and attentive. Any issue just ask and they will sort. Because the next spoons is either Bexhill or Eastbourne, this pub has a very large catchment area. Remember to be pleasant and polite to the staff and be respectful.

It's a wetherspoon so it is always busy with a pub like feel to it. The food was good but not exactly as described. If you choose the smashed avocado muffin you get red onion with it. Whilst I love red onion I wouldn't have it for breakfast. It was still delicious. If your looking for a cozy feeling then this won't be right. If your looking for good value and good food you're in the right place.

Loved this spoons called in in the evening and not too busy and as it's a Monday apparently they have a quiz night. This was my first visit while on holiday. Had the various chicken dishes on offer which were excellent

Had a quick pint here with friends after a long walk on the Cuckoo trail from Polegate. Cheap beer & good company plus an 8+ mile walk into the bargain. Spoons number 75 for us. Pub was big & roomy with plenty of spare seats inside and out. Glorious sunny day. Couldn't ask for more.

Food and atmosphere is fine. However, inside definitely needs a make over. It's sad and out dated

Spoons fare. Always busy, quite loud, not a place if you fancy a quiet drink! Been here a couple times more and def not what it was. Food quality has dropped, often lukewarm at best and the (very) young staff are disinterested and appear a bit de-motivated to be honest. Still a cheap pint so what's there to complain about?

I would say the best breakfast I have ever had in my life I ordered the large breakfast which was bacon sausage egg mushrooms hash browns toast beans and the coffee as well all for 7 pounds!! Absolutely amazing value and the food really was the best so if you want a good cooked breakfast please go here. And don't forget to support your local high street in these times. I'm going to be back for that breakfast again! Lady behind the bar was lovely also great customer service.

Good variety of great food at reasonable prices. You go in and choose your seat, inside, outside in a non-smoking garden or outside the front. Our table was dirty but when I asked for it to be cleaned, the friendly staff member came, apologised, and cleaned it immediately. You have to order and pay at the bar or via an app. Tasty food , friendly staff and our food came quickly.

Quite simply the way to get into normal dining coming out of the lockdown. Staff courtios and helping to settle you down with your orders. Nice atmosphere.

Staff friendly, chairs need replacing and decor needs a bit of an uplift. Nice outside area to enjoy during the summer. Desperately need to get a pizza oven like other branches!

Room was okay. Food and drink consistent to Wetherspoons standard. Parking was an issue

Didn’t try the food but have had a good pint or two poured.

Sadly no dogs allowed outside even if you sit on the public walk through and sit by the kegs. No signs telling people of this, and several families were asked to leave upon arrival. Wont be going back EVER!

Went for breakfast this morning, waited 30 minutes for food, did not arrive. Spoke to the manager and he said we were next to be served, even without checking. People who had come in after us were served before us. Food arrived about 4 minutes later, the plates were cold, the fried eggs had hard yolk’s. We have had breakfast here many times and this was the worst we had ever experienced. When the manager came up after we had finished to ask how if everything had been okay, I mentioned the above and all he kept saying was I can only apologise. It would have been better if he had said they were short staffed.

I decided to treat myself to a drink and a burger and everything about it including the staff and atmosphere was wonderful.

Always busy, but the service from staff remains really good, even when the place is rammed with customers. Food is typical Wetherspoons fare and always comes out quickly, a bonus if you are pushed for time. Both drinks and food are very reasonably priced and there is a huge range to suit everyone's tastes. Worth a visit.

Ordered food on app, waiter came over with drinks and then a while later the food but not a word was spoken each time. Didn't even bother asking if everything was ok like most places do. Staff having a rather loud "mothers meeting" in the kitchen area. All the guests could hear word for word plus the music they had on. And didn't help u had a female shouting across the room to a male about some singer and how they both wanted everyone to hear their conversation. A few people were getting fed up with it. I've been here a number of times but it's going downhill. I also had to clean the table, knife and fork before using. Something ive had to do a few times when coming here. I gave it a few chances but don't think I will go back.

5 days without a coffee machine! How can this be? No replacement machine? Unforgiveable.

Food gave me bad tummy. Told we weren’t allowed more than 2 glasses of wine cos we had children, which I find discriminatory. Staff were unfriendly and making it very clear we were the topic of conversation. Chef was very confrontational, refunds did not go through. Been a customer for a long time and never had problems. The staff on that day clearly had a bee Their on bonnet or were being observed by health and safety as their behaviour towards us was unprofessional and out of the ordinary. Very disappointed with customer services. Staff tried to be intimidating, didn’t work but they tried. Very disappointing: won’t be returning again. Still waiting for my refund…

Very fast service, Good food, nice environment

Lovely food and staff but a bit grubby.

Good atmosphere, with plenty of seating places. This is good for small groups, as well as larger groups. They have the sports channels, for the fans also. There is a good variety of food selection, as well as drinks, with free coffee refills. I quite like it and recommend it.

Another well run Spoons where the team make you welcome. Excellent, great value food. Recommended.

I went here with a client and a work colleague for lunch. Although it was very busy we found a table. We chose our food and ordered at the bar expecting to white a fair while for our food ,but we didn't within 15 minutes all three meals were brought to the table at the same time. The staff here are brilliant the atmosphere was good It was quite loud but you must expect that when the restaurant is full and I have no complaints about that. This was my first visit here. Actually, it was my first visit to a witherspoons. I was definitely impressed. The food is so reasonably priced, and the service was brilliant , I will definitely go here again.

Typical Wetherspoon's pub and menu with lots of choice. Never have to wait long for your meal.

Bust lunchtime but served quickly. Has a split level but lots of seating on the level. Quite a young person's hang out so quite lively

The bar staff were amazing, as were the waiting staff. Very good seating areas for group gatherings and easy access toilets.

Always a good choice, you know what you're getting with the food, cheap offers for alcoholic beverages, always great customer service and a great cheap choice for a catch-up with the free refills on hot drinks!

Ok so it's not fine dining, it's weatherspoons but you just cannot complain about the value for money with their food. This place was clean and tidy, the staff were excellent. Ordered via the app and got my drink within a couple of minutes and my food about 15 minutes later even though the pub was full of customers. Decent WiFi , lots of comfortable seating areas in different configurations and a large outside area for when the weather allows. Ticks every box for a good value place to eat and drink.

I feel the George has taken a down would turn, the table was sticky the food was not at all what we expected, it looked like it had been standing around and just put in the microwave, Ladies toilets not very clean with one toilet blocked with paper, the flush not working at all well. We will not be returning

Cheap and cheerful, they have more vegetarian and vegan options now too.

A fairly standard Spoons. Tables are always sticky, they're always relatively busy and the food is cheap. The food has drastically improved fairly recently and you can order direct from the table and it's so quick. We like popping in here if we can't be bothered to make dinner.

We came here while driving through. Staff was welcoming and we sat in garden food was great and was just a lovely environment and not that busy either and free parking. Brilliant 👍

I get that you can't expect alot from a spoons however mixed grill was poor! Meat okish but spec is 6 onion rings we only got 5, eggs cooked in old oil. Mushrooms sadly thrown in fryer. Only nice thing was a fluffy jacket potato. No check back. Sad that this is there standard now.Thrown on a plate not even busy. Wont be back

We waited for an hour and still didn't get the food ordered. We were told that there was a half hour wait for food. More staff are needed.

staff are nice and friendly here. the food is fine, normal Wetherspoons food, decent for the price. the pub is a little tired and could do with a refit, but clean enough all things considered. baby changing facility is clean, and locked with a radar key, which is important and useful.

It's a pretty standard Spoons, but staff are always great and short waits for food.
