The George in City of London, Westminster

Had a last minute 30th Birthday in the function room at The George. Had a fantastic night with great Guiness and Kareoke! The staff were extermly nice and everyone at the part had an amazing night. Huge shoutout to Daniel and the staff who took care of us and made sure everything was ready to go and all my guests were having a great night!

It is a wonderful place. The pub is really nice, well organized, clean and a pleasant atmosphere. 👍 Enjoyed the drink. 😎

Friendly little pub for a drink. You’re on top of each other so it’s fun to get to know the people around you. Went with a friend and shared a bottle of wine (or two) and got to know a lovely couple who were there before a gig. Will go back.

Nice local soho pub however feel quite disappointed that we came in here at 9:45pm after dinner and bought pints. They served us and then told us they were closing in 10 minutes and we would have to leave. If we were told they were closing then we wouldn’t have bought pints here.

Loved our little stop off here. Our poor legs had had it wandering round the Christmas lights and decided we needed a sit down... Not so easy as it was absolutely packed. Luckily we were offered a seat and we settled in. The pub is lovely, the atmosphere was really good, great playlist. Fab staff considering the pressure they were under, we loved our stop off here. Fitted the bill perfectly

Had a fantastic time at The George! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, with some excellent music that really set the mood for a great evening. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without missing a beat. Overall, it was a top-notch experience — great tunes, solid service, and a place I’ll definitely be returning to. Highly recommend!

Very nice, busy London pub. We used this as a meeting place before it got too busy, luckily we got a table. Service was prompt and efficient and reasonably priced for a London pub.

A very cozy, authentic English pub, the atmosphere is good, but there are not enough seats. You can drink different types of beer. I recommend it.

Stumbled upon this pub by chance, the atmosphere was really great. We were very well received! The staff is super friendly, the beers are very good and the fish & chips are top notch! Thank you for this evening! And thank you again for the candle on the fish&chip ;-)

Best darts club in all of London hands down

Drinks only. Pleasant pub,without background music or TV which is a big plus!

We have not loved the treatment of the staff (enormous that of our waiter from La Mancha...) who has offered us some very delicious beers, serving us one of the local ones that has suited us gloriously! Well decorated. Good music. Quiet place within Soho and on the street that goes down to Chinatown. Recommended as a stopover on your visit to central London, after an exhausting afternoon on Oxford Street. Good price for the pint. €6

Lovely bar when we got here, but they rang the bell for last drinks then took our order and as we sat down said we we are closed and kicked us out! Very disappointed in the service, will not be returning!

Decent central London pub. Good beer. Good location. Nice place to stand outside and watch the world go by on a sunny day.

The bartender is a thief! At the beginning, the lady behind the bar was really kind with a lovely smile. She proposed to me to taste the beer for making a choice. I payed by card and then she told me « the payment declined, please try again ». She gave to me the receipt on which it’s written « declined ». I was really confused because, for me, the transaction worked. When I showed her my bank account with the transaction, she answered « this one will be canceled, trust me. We never have a problem, it never happens. ». I payed twice but I was confused. I kept an eye on her for the next hour. She did exactly the same thing to 3 other clients! She knows exactly what she’s doing, that’s not a mistake or a random bug! Guys, don’t go there, there are many other pubs in London!

Pleasant enough place to meet away from the main throngs of Soho and Oxford Street, service okay, drink selection decent with a couple of hand pumps and about average for central London prices, interior smallish but pleasant and has some character to it, all in all a nice little pub.

Very good pub. And we must keep one thing in mind. We went on a Saturday afternoon. All the venues in Soho packed to bursting. But we have found a space and we have been at the Movies. Great afternoon.

Bully Bouncer. I’m London born and raised and have been in here a few times over the years but last night the bouncer had a real attitude and intimidation problem. My mate and I were sitting on a bench, we both smoke, we intended to hunker down for the night and catch up in a pub. We bought our first drinks and were chatting. I have a nail appointment today and was taking off the remnants of my gels while talking. Placed on a coaster in a neat pile because of course I was going to throw it. I hadn’t flicked it on the floor or pushed it away from where we were sitting. We went out to have a smoke, jackets, drinks and scarves still left inside and some nice lads from the next table looking after our stuff, a couple of these lads were also out smoking. This bouncer comes over shouting ‘which one of you is picking your nails, it’s disgusting, clean it up now’. My mate and 2 other groups of people asked if I was OK because of how he approached me. The lads said he’d had a go at at least one other customer for something else and was ruining the vibe. I went inside the pub and asked why he did that. The bouncer said he politely came outside and asked if we were sitting inside, not true, he said he’d been watching us and knew it was us, so why ask? I asked why he needed then to come outside and shout at me, if he knew where we were sitting he could have come up and just asked nicely and discreetly if we could clear up any rubbish before we left. But he hadn’t done that because clearly he wanted to make someone else feel small and intimidated. Of course we left straight after, not finishing our drinks. I’ve seen too many escalated situations from bouncers etc on a power trip so wouldn’t feel safe visiting this pub again. Won’t be returning

Like many Soho pubs encapsulates the classic victorian boozer. Lots of architectural interest, friendly service, but too much for the bitter/ ale drinker

Soho used to be full of old-school boozers like this, but many have sadly gone (replaced with upmarket shoe shops, accessory-boutiques and whatnot), but The George remains. It's a small space, and tables are at a premium. Or stand on the pavement outside and watch the world go by. Staff were great on my last visit, and I was pleased to see Singha on tap, which is something of a rarity. Much like this pub.

Very busy Saturday but the servers at the bar were superb and very efficient.

This was a big letdown , after waiting for half an hour to get the orders taken up, we were told that half of the menu was basically not available. We then rearranged our orders, and then waited again for half an hour. There was half of the food missing, it was just lukewarm and there was no cutlery available. Staring at our food, pondering our life choices, even the philosophical debate about corporate understaffing and underpaying were not able to get the experience in out taste buds to be positive. After local pubdwellers told us they never eat here because of the quality and bad management, we knew we made the wrong choice to go there.

Went in to use the dartboard. They don’t have any darts because apparently people keep stealing them. Luckily I had my own. They kindly moved the tables upstairs to accommodate our game of darts. Unfortunately the dart board does not have a light, so it was like throwing darts into a cave and hoping for the best. Every round was like a surprise to see what you’d scored. I’d recommend they purchase a light for the dart board. The drinks were fine.

Lovely place just off Oxford Street. We visited after work on a week day and it was rather busy. You can tell that there were lots of regular customers. I liked the window seeing with a view to the streets and busy London. Service is prompt, staff is very friendly and you have a decent variety of drought beers ales and cider. Lovely hidden Gem

Worst pub in soho..... empty pub that happened to be showing football when I went in.... no more than 6 customers inside. I was served expensive drinks in plastic cups by the barmaid so I raised the issue with the manager.... he refused to decant into a glass or refund. This pub wont go the distance in the current climate..... when it closes for good i expect a more gracious response from the pub manager when hes serving me my burger and fries in the local McDonalds.

A busy, Victorian street corner pub in Soho. My welcome wasn’t particularly friendly, and my pint of Spitfire wasn’t particularly good. The pub itself is very attractive, otherwise this would, unfortunately, be a 2-star review. Maybe a bad day for my server.

Quick drink before meeting friends. A medium sized bar area with fantastic staff. Made to feel very welcome and had a chat. On the hottest day if the year (so far) the aircon was a blessing to hit me as I opened the door! No pics as a quick pitstop.

I had a lovely time while visiting this pub. The security (Dwayne) was the highlight of our night, we felt very safe and we love him !! Nicest security ever !!
