Cozy pub near Baker Street. Every last Saturday of the month they do an open mic. We made a reservation in advance because it can be busy on Saturdays. Upon arrival, the owner had reserved the best seat for us. Wide choice of beers on tap and the pies were delicious. The open mic was fantastic. Enjoyed the evening immensely.

🚇 Baker Street 🍺 £6.50 Mahou ❤️ A vintage Marylebone boozer. . The Barley Mow is located on elegant Dorset Street in the heart of Marylebone. The nearest tube is Baker Street which is a ten minute stroll away. . This pub was built in 1791 and is Grade II listed and is rumored to be the longest standing building in Marylebone. This pub is also a Freehouse which is very unique in this part of town. . The decor here is traditional and retains many features from the Victorian era. The interior is on Camra’s list of National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. The standout feature is the two private booths located at the bar. This is a perfect example of how, in times gone by, Londoners liked to drink in intimate, cosy surroundings. At the rear of the bar there is also a snug and dartboard. . The beer lineup was decent and there were three cask on at the time of visiting. I decided on a Mahou which is pronounced Mau not Mahoo, i was politely corrected in Bradley’s Spanish Bar a few months ago. This Spanish beer is a nice drop if a little pricey. The food here is full of that British staple, the pie. Pie, mash, mushy peas and gravy will set you back £13.50, there are meat, veggie and vegan options to choose from. . I visited just after opening on a Saturday, with the exception of a group of fellas at the bar who were off to a wedding, I had the place to myself. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed, the acoustic soundtrack set a nice tone around the bar. Evenings are a more lively affair, there are quizzes, open mic nights and dart nights to keep you entertained. . The @thebarleymow_marylebone has it all! The building and primarily the decor are outstanding, a proper piece of old London. The beer was decent and the food hearty. There is plenty on to keep you engaged or you can pop in for a contemplating pint. This is definitely a must visit pub. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 30/07/22 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

Monthly, the Barley Mow marylebone offers an amazing Sunday lunch. A simple prawn cocktail starter, my wife had the soup, then beef main with great roasties, veg, and yorkshire pud. The vegan option was tasty and cauliflower cheese side excellent. The chocolate tart and crumble were both fabulous. Service with a smile in the warmest and friendliest pub in Marylebone. Their pies go down a treat if you're partaking of the brilliant quiz nights. Shhh, it's too good to share.

A perfect place for a beer, after the main entrance you can also go left behind the bar straight and there is another room where it is more intimate and less crowded and quiet, so everyone will find a place for themselves here. This should be a good review of a somewhat quirky pub. Problem is a friend and I came specifically to play darts. Now I don't mind £7 for a Peroni, nor do I mind paying £11 for an expensive double Makers Mark. But to be asked to pay £25 an hour to play darts is outrageous. I have never paid to play darts in London. I am absolutely disgusted. Shame on this pub.

The manager (Dan) suddenly decided at 10pm that the dart board was closed , even though we literally took the darts off the guys who were already playing. Apparently the board closes at 6pm on Wednesday?? When asked why, he was super aggressive (presumably supporting his stroppy barmaid). Until then we had a great evening but frankly this COMPLETELY RUINED our evening. The location is great, the bar is great, but unless you change the manager your business is done

We enjoyed one of those memorable long lunches with friends a few weeks back on a trip to London from Australia. Everything about The Barley Mow ticked all the right boxes, the location was perfect, we loved the authentic English pub vibe and the food & drinks were top notch. Most notable was the staff...everyone was super welcoming & genuine and really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable & happy. Special mention to Jeremy who was so delightful and engaging and again made such a special effort to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and made us feel so looked after. I didn't realize at the time to be honest but saw on credit card bill this morning and though I was seeing things. I know we were in Mayfair buy the seating inside the pub was not one bit comfortable and outside the pub broken glass was littering the pavements from glasses taken outside. I was looking for somewhere to eat while walking down London's famous Baker street and discovered this little pub on nearby Dorset street. It had a nice interior with a couple of quirky booths/snugs at one side of the bar. Staff were pleasant and helpful and my food order arrived quickly. I enjoyed an IPA beer alongside a traditional English pie with a beef and blue cheese filling served with mashed potato, mushy peas and gravy. Overall a nice experience and the food was very good. Being the oldest pub in Marylebone may not seem like something you should be shouting about until you realise it's London and London is ancient so that's quite an impressive claim really. It's one of those places that feels like it has lived experience in its walls, experience that isn't fabricated like a lot of London so you should indeed have a look and experience for yourself. That's probably more times than I should be using the word experience but hey, I've used experience again, and then again, sorry, just go and have a look and, I'm, experience the thing.

Had a good experience here—service was great, with polite staff who brought the food out quickly. The menu is well-priced, and my small breakfast at £9 felt like decent value. The coffee was good, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the toast, and there were too many beans for my liking. Eggs were just okay, but everything else was solid.
