Great pub, in the centre of London, with a nice Garden area, staff are friendly and have a good selection of Craft beers

Best feature about this pub is its great little garden, very unusual in this part of the city. A haven in Aldgate. Prices and beer are good too..!

Great place for after work drinks, the staff are lovely. We were served by Sophia, a very friendly person who served us as quick as she could. Highly recommend.

Amazing little pub tucked away in the area! Food is amazing and the team are incredible, so friendly and welcoming. I was advised by the long haired manager about their Mixr app, what an amazing little incentive to get some cash back on every purchase very good idea. Would highly recommend to anyone in the nearby vicinity to pop in, great for sports and they have both a pool table and a dart board. Will definitely be coming back, send my thanks to the team here!

Abbiamo visitato questo pub in una serata di maggio per provare qualcosa di tipico a Londra. Purtroppo non avevano il fish and chips disponibile, io personalmente ho trovato poca scelta per le mie intolleranze, ma alla fine ho optato per un burger e abbiamo provato anche i mac and cheese. In generale è stata una esperienza nella media. Il posto è molto carino, ma il cibo potrebbe meritare di più. Ricordatevi come in ogni pub ci si siede, poi si ordina al banco.

Went after work on a thursday evening. Place was super busy, but the vibe was great. Service at the bar was quick for how busy it was. Ended up getting some nibbly bits and they didn’t disappoint. Had a lovely evening catching up with some friends, will definitely be returning again.

Brilliant little gem this is! Went in on a Tuesday evening to watch the champions league. Lovely atmosphere even for a small game. The service was fast and friendly all night. Want to say thank you to Tom who helped me and my friend through the long process of picking food with allergies. 5 stars 100% worth it. Came here for the first time. It’s a lovely pub and has great service. Got served by a young man called max, he was lovely and polite. I will be coming here again as the food was good and the workers there are all welcoming.

I’m not really a pub-goer, but was in the area and thought I would pop in. Max was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable. Was more than happy to tell me about the non-alcoholic options you have as I don’t drink alcohol. Overall pleasant experience and was a nice little rest- stop during my day.

Staff was pretty rude for a slow and chill Thursday lunch with only a few customers in the pub. Asked for sauces on the side for my burger, the lady acknowledged but still got them in the burger. A thank you or a smile would be appreciated, I felt like my presence bothered them (her). Pizza is nothing like an italian woodfire oven pizza, from the dough to the ingredients, but wasn't expecting much different in a uk style pub. My friend liked it so I guess it's alright. Location and seats are really nice

Lovely place to visit in Aldgate. Spacious and nicely decorated with a great atmosphere. Food was delicious, we had burgers and topped fries. All the staff are friendly & welcoming, especially the young man, Max I think his name was. Very polite & well-mannered. Will absolutely visit again.

Very fun with amazing staff. Afonso, Marthyns and everyone amazing. The pizza, mac and cheese not really pizza but tasted so good. i could have it all night. Definitely worth going.

We would guess that the Duke of Somerset would normally produce an "OK" meal - our only problem was that we were in a group and the kitchens clearly couldn't cope with the number of orders and so they drifted through in no particular order - but the quality wasn't bad

Pasamos una noche aquí para mi cumpleaños, mis amigos y yo disfrutamos mucho el ambiente, todo el mundo era muy amable, la mayoría del personal era acogedor, tenía un problema con un hombre que no podía entender lo que estaba bastante pidiendo pero la música había llegado y tal vez era un poco sordo, así que, en general, una gran noche.

They put the Atletico-Leicester match on the TV with the worst reception and with annoying predictatext sub-titles, which were often inaccurate.I asked if they could delete the sub-titles, but they said they didn't know how - others had asked the same thing previously, they said. So much for the customer!The draught Aspels and Camden Pale Ale compensated. We didn't eat here - the menu seemed limited and unappealing.

Popped into the Duke twice while staying the weekend in London. It seems to be mostly a local after work hangout, but the staff was very welcoming and made us feel like regulars. My wife and I had few pints on the patio one evening and then brought our family back for a Fizz Friday lunch. The pub-style food was quite nice and the £14 Prosecco was a brilliant way to enjoy an afternoon. The only downside was several of the appetizers we requested were out of stock.

Had lunch here, ordered the Mexican burger which was quite nice, but the chips were re heated and not cooked in the middle. Service was ok. nice pub in general but more could be done about the real ale on offer.

I visited with friends early on a Saturday morning, and the place was all but empty. The drinks were ordered but the London Pride was distinctly sour. We returned the 3 pints to the bar, and in fairness to the barman, he replaced the drinks with Hobgoblin without arguing. This is a nice enough pup on the inside, and it is a great deal larger than it would appear on the outside. A decent enough pub. However nothing special.

A fairly standard pub set on the outskirts of the city.A reasonable selection of beers that should satisfy most.Food is standard pub grub....there is a two meals for £9.99 option or if you have a Tastecard you can select from their main menu. Staff were courteous and the food arrived in good time.Overall a decent experience in a calm atmosphere.....maybe because this was lunch time earlier in the week. I'm sure it'll get busier later in the week.

An average pub located near Aldgate where we were going on a walking tour the reason for the choice. My choice was best being the gammon but my friends had pies, not a huge amount of filling. Overall a quick meal and ok.

I came here with a friend after work on a quiet Monday evening, I enjoyed the hunters chicken which was delicious, as did my friend which was on a 2 for £9.99 deal along with a perfectly poured cold pint of Fosters. Although it was quiet, it had a comforting atmosphere for a London pub and the staff on shift, Sarah and Olivia were friendly and welcoming. The front of the pub welcomes you with a small garden area which has an outside TV currently showing the olympics, it looks cosy and a great spot to spend the day in the good weather! With great value food and good company, I will definitely be returning soon!

In all fairness England had played in Euro 16 earlier in afternoon and that was heavily watched so probably a bit louder than usual for a sports pub.FYI - need to order and pay at at the bar. I didn't realize it's a chain until reading other reviews but that did not detract for us. Food came quickly and was hot. Quality better than expected. Family of 4 spent 65 £ including dinner, tip, 4 drinks (during happy hour) and 2 beers. Watched first half of Poland vs Germany and had a great time

Good pub for sports viewing and there is an outside screen in case the weather is reasonable. Typical pub fare and a good range of beer options. Well worth a visit.

Some places look inviting but fail in a monumental fashion. This is one of those. Pub type look. Menu that is comprehensive but a level of service to cry about and a food quality that falls very very short of good. 45 mins wait only to get poor food. Badly presented and in fact not what was ordered. No warning of delays. No apology for shoddiness. Best left well alone.

Atmosphere is excellent any week night, the food is good quality pub food - nothing mind blowing but serviceable for the price especially if you go for a big burger or sharing platter later in the evening. Just be aware that service around lunchtimes does tend to take about 45 minutes unless you're there early (midday) - it's a popular place for pub lunches to those of us who work round the corner and gets hit with a lot of orders all at once.Go for a drink with friends and you'll be happy with the bar service time (no waiting forever and staff are very attentive), there's usually 2-3 guest ales on or plenty of lager choices, which are very well priced for the area too. In the summer the outdoor space is probably the best in the immediate area, closed off enough to feel away from the busy London streets but with enough sunlight to enjoy the evening.

Went here for a Friday lunchtime/afternoon session with friends. Only two real ales on, Doombar and Scrooged - ok but not great.Tried ordering food at 1.45 pm and were told it wouldn't be available until 3 pm. The pub was reasonably busy but not rammed. Decided not to order and leave it till later and tried to reorder at 2.30 when the pub was a little quieter. Success or so we thought - only 3 fish and chips left so order had to be reconsidered. Went back 2 minutes later and told food not available till 4 pm. Finished our drinks and went to the Wetherspoons round the corner. Much busier, but much better choice of ale and surprisingly good fish and chips which arrived after 10 minutes or so.No contest!
