Been here over the years and it's always been good and consistent. Visited this evening. Lovely big meal! Had a burger and a beer for £10 burger was amazing and fries were beautifully seasoned. Nice choice of beers. Good friendly atmosphere, huge free car park. Great value. Well worth a visit.

Can highly recommend the Gatehouse. Lovely food, staff and atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. We’ll definitely go again :)

I had a really tasty Sunday roast turkey cooked to perfection great with think gravy, I had extra cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets and extra Yorkshire, really needed it after a long week, most of my friends had the same with the same reviews really tasty and cooked well. I go there often as it is my local. The manager is a great guy very friendly and checked on how our food was. Definitely will be back. 😀😀

Fabulous staff and a great selection of drinks and a varied menu. Always some sort of deal on. Chicken Caesar Burger and a pint of Peroni (or other pint) for a tenner at the moment. Lovely grassed beer garden for if and when the sun is out. Oh, and free pool table all day Monday.

Wow what a fantastic meal at the gatehouse. Took the family for the burger special. Chicken Caesar was absolutely mouth watering and my wife tried the Texan barbecue and she said it was just delicious. The kids shared the small plates with loaded fries and there wasn’t a single thing left in the plates! Great food at an amazing price. Good atmosphere all round. Highly recommended

It's obvious Sarah has left , what a disappointment, as a family we often visit for lunch and so we are used to portion sizes and standard of food so today was a definite eye opener. The only redeeming feature was the young lady who served us, extremely apologetic at the 1 tablespoon sized portion of childs pasta and returned to us an acceptable size portion.The lasagne was dry, hard and tasteless. Looks like we will be taking our custom to The Seabridge instead from now on

Visited the pub with family as we were in vacation, ordered food and drinks at around 8.11pm but waited 20 mins for someone to come with only the drinks and telling us the chef had went home already so they can refund my order but when doing this they explained that because we used a debit card on the app and not cash that I'd have to wait 3 days for a refund. Well 3 days passed and still no refund. My partner rang the green king customer service number after 5 days of no refund. They were very helpful on the phone and hopefully I get my money refunded soon. Just a tip if visiting, try to find out before using the app if the kitchen is still open because waiting 5 days for £60 in the day and age could financally damage someone else

Popped in to The Gatehouse for some drinks. Lovely atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon. Staff were lovely. Been a few times and it’s been great every time.

What a lovely place to go with the family nice pint and lovely food. Craig and all is staff so friendly and accommodating. Biggest bonus is the lovely beer garden got be the biggest and best for miles around so nice to sit outside when the sun's shining just to chill and relax.

Walked in the restaurant and it just felt clean. We sat down and the menu was really tasty I couldn’t decide what to have. In the end I went for the halloumi flatbread and a side of katsu fries. You get quite a lot of halloumi and the fries were really tasty. The manager was a laugh as well, I will definitely be returning.

You really went the extra mile and we were truly over whelmed by your kindness 💕 The table was laid out beautifully, the prosecco was a most welcome gift 🤗 You truly made the lady of the hour feel most special. First time I ever came to the pub/restaurant with my partner. The bar staff were very polite and welcoming! There was plenty of tables and seats to choose from. We ordered food and drink from the Greene king app, the bar staff were really quick in the space of 5 mins of ordering food. The mains and desserts were really nice! Best food I had. We will be back again soon!

Called last night with the wife and a few friends for the big bank holiday weekend Dougie Mac charity event what can we say brilliant. they had a female singer on who was really good and various other fund raising events on.well done to Sarah and all her team for a fantastic night and let's hope the weekend goes the same top marks.

Called in for a comfort break and decided to have a large coke as it was a warm day - having purchased £3.25 pence worth of coke including 2 ice cubes and a slice, i asked the bar tender if they felt that this was value for money and was told that this is the measure for a large coke. Having purchased a large coke in a large glass the expectation level was set as a large glass would contain a full measure of coke the bartender was not prepared to top up the glass, and repeated his strap line as that was the measure for a large coke, so i walked out and left it.

Very good, reasonably priced pub fayre. Not a gastro pub but definitely above average Friendly and helpful service from Connagh. Will visit again when in the area. Would recommend the Rump Steak toastie washed down with a pint of, well kept, Abbot

We went last night for the second time for a family meal. A nice friendly pub grub atmosphere, very good value for money. Monday night it was fairly quiet so easy ordering and the food was delivered quickly. Good quality, and in the main good sized meals. My only reason for not giving a five star was that having a mixed grill and being asked how I wanted my steak when I ordered well done it actually arrived as medium, I know it's not a huge issue but just personal preference. We've already booked to go again, it's definitely worth a visit! One of final comment the staff were brilliant! Friendly and helpful, made the visit a pleasure.

Totally disappointed in the food and service we have had here tonight. Came on a very quiet Tuesday evening ordered meals for 5 people. They were basic meals off the menu waited 58 minutes for the food to turn up on our table. There was another table of two eating they also waited a very long time. When the food turned up it was not worth the 58 minutes we had waited. I had the all day brunch at 9.99 you would get more of a food van in town. My two eggs had probably been cooked 58 mins before the rest of the meal. Don't bother coming here for food not worth the petrol money. In their defence they gave us free soft drinks as they were aware we were not happy. They didn't offer these I asked them. Overall experience 0/10

The staff are always lovely. The food however is very hit and miss which is rather off putting. Living locally makes it an easy option, however I'd be more inclined to drink than eat here which is a shame. We eat out once most weeks and it would be nice to be able to walk to the local to enjoy good food. Drinks and staff 10/10 Food on this occasion at best 5/10 . Small portion size and over cooked to the point of dry. I did mention this to the manager on the day. The option to send back food and complain to staff always seems a pointless option when you are out for a pleasant experience. This was a late lunch and the pub was not particularly busy. Come on Gatehouse 🤗 just give us great pub food of a decent size and quality every trip and you will have smashed it 👌

Stopped by this pub after a long motorway journey home from holiday for a bite to eat with a few friends I'd been camping with. This is our regular pub, but we have recently noticed a big improvement in both the food and the service and we always look forward to returning.
