The Garden Shed Cafe in Stratford-on-Avon

We had such a disappointing experience today at a place which we normally love After waiting one hour for our brunch we were constantly told it’s on its way but all other diners had been served before us and our order had obviously been forgotten. It eventually came but order was wrong so we had to wait again . No apologies given just shrug of shoulders for us to carry on waiting. The attitude of staff was awful and it’s not easy waiting that long for food with a toddler.Just a friendly smile and an apology would have gone a long way.This is such a lovely little cafe and I do hope staff never take their customers for granted.It is not cheap but you don’t mind paying more if the level of service matches the bill.

A very nice cafe and breakfast but a few things could be improved. The option to have scrambled eggs rather than just fried or poached would be good, and a breakfast isn't really complete without black pudding in my view. Also the beans were extremely odd, in some kind of brown HP type sauce with kidney beans mixed in! Perhaps a case of the chef drastically overthinking things much too their detriment. Sometimes things are just best done in the classic manner.

This was a lovely place for brunch. I visited here with my friends and we sat in the shed outside, which was cosy with the heaters. We all ordered some yummy drinks and food that they had on the bonfire night specials menu. My drink was a salted caramel hot chocolate, which was amazing! I had the breakfast bap, that was also very good. I’d recommend that you book a table as it was very busy on a Saturday morning.

Lovely dog friendly environment. Food was nice and was delivered quickly. Prices are very reasonable (just over £20 for two brunch items and two drinks). Parking outside if there are any spaces available. Knocked a point off because 3 people behind the counter ignored us for a long time when waiting to pay. Otherwise a good brunch.

Avoid, go anywhere else but here. Had to ask, after about 5-10 mins just for a Menu. Eventually someone came to take the order and after taking the order double checked it was correct which is great. Then we waited for 40 mins and the lad that took the order put his head through and the look on his face said it all. At this stage we hadn’t even got drinks. We left it another 10 mins before going to the counter to find out what was happening apparently they thought we had our breakfast and then proceeded to blame the system. At this point we walked out. Should have walked out as soon as we got there the Man behind the counter seems to make it a his own personal challenge to see how long he can ignore you for. I’ve been here twice before and every time got the same sort of vibe. Just because you have got a posh coffee machine and a nice selection of cakes this doesn’t make you a Cafe. Customer service make you a Cafe.

Was forgotten and my order finally arrived - I was asked for £9.50 for a coffee. It transpired that my order had not been put through at all and so I was unwittingly consuming half of someone else's Waitress hostile and rude and took ages to sort out situation. Shame because it is exactly the sort of place I would normally rave about. A smile and a "sorry" costs nothing.

Strange to see negative reviews, as this place seemed excellent to us, particularly for the area which is a bit of a culinary desert. Good sized portions for lunch and everything was that bit better than you might expect - nice bread, very chunky ham, good salads. I don't think the prices are out of the ordinary in late 2023. Certainly I'd rather have this for 8 or 9 pounds than something much more mediocre for 7. Also an interesting range of cold drinks. Didn't try the coffee on this occasion.

£6 for a bacon roll, then they forgot our order resulting in a long, hungry wait. The coffee is okay though- that well roasted, slightly burnt taste. Not impressed.

Came here for breakfast from the Mercure, and so glad we did. Great coffee, lovely breakfast, good service. So good we came back here after our bike ride to quaff some more hot beverages and tuck into some delicious cakes and pastries The cafe has a huge rear garden as well as indoor seating in a cosy atmosphere. Would also make a great stop for cyclists as they have racks via the side gate. Would highly recommend.

Great menu, staff and atmosphere. They have a lovely cabin/studio in the garden with two large tables. It was perfect for the small wake I went to and easily accommodated a dozen of us. The staff were amazingly swift with coffee orders and the plates of sandwiches, wraps and cakes were fresh, interesting and very tasty. There is also a pretty terrace/garden. Thank you garden shed.

As cyclists we have visited many times. The addition of covered outside space has improved the ability to serve larger groups. With racking for bike storage it lends itself well for groups. The food is good with many home made choices and good selection of cakes. It has to be said that it is expensive and service can be slow which is why it looses some appeal to myself.

We stopped in to grab some cakes to take away and they had an amazing selection with very friendly staff. The place was packed and looked like a great vibe. Would highly recommend

Been coming here since it opened and every time the food is great along with the service. We choose to sit in their lovely covered garden area, even when it’s cold as they have heaters. We have tried many other cafes for our Sunday brekkie/brunch but always prefer our local one! I just wish they would bring back the tables out the front - miss people/traffic watching! What more could you want? Delicious coffee, great cakes, excellent snacks, allows dogs, garden area for warmer months, and a 22kW Type 2 electric vehicle charger which is free to use. Brilliant!
