The Garden Rooms in Watford

Always love going to TGR... Great venue, atmosphere, food and friendly staff. The food especially the homemade Mac & Cheese is amazing. I regularly attend the house and garage nights which are always well put together.

4 of us went for birthday drinks earlier in the eve we had a good chat & catch up, then dj came on. Good atmosphere & everyone just out for a good time/laugh. It wasn't too young there either.

Hosted a 40th Birthday at the Garden Rooms with fifty guests. Fantastic venue. We could not have been happier with how great all of the team were, and how well they looked after us during and before the event. A real hidden gem.

Booked for a Watford Folk Club singaround as regular venue unavailable. Management & staff very friendly and accommodating to our requirements and helped make it a really great night. Thanks to all at The garden Rooms and looking forward to a return visit.

Great atmosphere for chatting & drinking earlier on & then great dj after. Really enjoyable night & other guests were just out for a good dance & laugh & it wasn't too young.

I booked last week online for Friday, but they were closed. I called up yesterday to book for today (Friday), they said it's fine - but guess what? Closed again. What a waste of time

We held a joint birthday party in the downstairs bar, and had an amazing time! The bar is well kept, and a great environment The staff were all really helpful and welcoming. The booking process was really easy and the owner that dealt with very personable. They really made the night for us, and can highly recommend hiring them for functions, we definitely will be again!

Amazing for a small party but otherwise its horrible loud in the evening. Otherwise amazing and the staff is very friendly.

Had such a great night here in such beautiful surroundings! This place is stunning and really does stand out in Watford. Went to the House and Garage Brunch. 07/10/23 The atmosphere was second to none! Fantastic vibes and happy, friendly smiling people where ever you looked. I felt like I had stepped back in time to 95' it was live!! DJ Scribs and DF MAC smashed it!! Big ups to Lady Becky for hosting such a fabulous event :) I can highly recommend.

Myself and 3 friends attended a bottomless brunch here and it did not disappoint. Having done lots of London brunches we all agreed this was one of the best due to the personal touches, you could really tell the difference being this is a family run business. They were so generous with food and drink. We have booked to do another one in December. The tapas is so good and it’s really nice just to pop in for drinks. Cannot recommend enough.

Went for the comedy show buy really enjoyed the guitarist/singer on prior 🙂

Delightful cafe with friendly, helpful staff. I enjoy the coffee and snacks. Had Tapas in the evening, and really enjoyed the Meatballs. But that's not all ... they also put on a wide variety of events including comedy, music of many genres, open mics. A gem of a place serving the local community.

Possibly the only place in Watford which doesn't serve Guinness

I had a wonderful brunch experience at The Garden Rooms. Christina, our server, was friendly and efficient, making our visit even more enjoyable. The smashed avocado on sourdough and huevos rancheros were both incredibly tasty and satisfying. The atmosphere was pleasant, with great background music and lovely green decor that added to the ambiance. I highly recommend this place for a delightful brunch outing.

Such a gorgeous summer evening spent here with drinks, tapas and music what more could you want! A short walk from Watford Junction (20 mins from Euston) or Watford Overground station (The met line station is a slightly longer walk) the perfect place to take a break from city life + spend time in Hertfordshire 🌳 Add the garden rooms watford to your summer go to list! I’m definitely coming back to visit for brunch 😍 ☕️

Had lunch with a friend. It is a lovely place. Friendly staff, very welcoming, clean and nice a cool. Worth trying.Will defo go back to try more from the menu

Fabulous quaint venue, so pretty and live music!

Very very expensive. The place is nice, the atmosphere is nice and they also had live music which was great but no one came to take my order so I had to go to the bar myself to get something. Also, 3 tapas cost £21.95 which is a lot more expensive than expected and there aren't many to choose from either, and the few ones you can choose from are honestly not all that great.

A hidden gem in Watford. Gorgeous interior, a quiet little place to have brunch or study and quick service. I got the Huevos Rancheros for brunch - good portion size and really tasty!

Like to go here when I can. Service is good. People are nice . Food is good too. Slightly off the main drag which makes it less busy and easier to get seated. Prices seem to be the same as everywhere else. Not too far from town centre car parks.

Me and my boyfriend went for breakfast and had the most perfect cappuccino ever! Breakfast was so nice and staff were do friendly! Will be going again!

A rather pleasant bar that serves food near the centre of Watford. The place was spotless and had plenty of bar staff so service was sprightly. Drink offerings included cocktails that those near to me said were lovely and not the miniscule offerings many bars provide. The beer selection was interesting as in addition to the typical lagers offerings beers were provided from nearby brewery Mad Squirrel on draft as well. I did not try their food offering but a large party were enjoying tapas which looked good. I have knocked off one star as though toilets are available downstairs everyone when I visited was made to use the single disabled loo in the main area which upset others

Was in for brunch was nice but i had to ask about the deal with brunch and hot drink and i feel staff should have told me . My son had the wrap with meatballs afraid to dry and bland and would have been better if they had put a bit of balsamic on the pitiful salad he didn't enjoy it am afraid .

First discovered this place just before covid hit. It had charm and character. Cosy sofas, nice wine and fresh snacks. It looked just what Watford needed if you wanted a more sophisticated drink away from the kids at the top of town. Somewhere a couple could relax and chat enjoy a good wine. The lady that owned the place was friendly and the atmosphere was great. However……… We just went back, first time since covid. I’m not sure if it’s changed owners in the last two years but wow what a stark difference. The charm and character is completely gone. Replaced by plastic plants and cheap tables and chairs. The food was awful, stale break your teeth pita bread and possibly the worst microwave Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. The bar man was pleasant enough. But what it had it’s lost and with it I presume most of its customers. Especially if the food stays the low standard it was today. Pre covid, it looked like a goldmine somewhere we felt could of been a regular haunt. Now unfortunately it looks like a premier inn reception empty and soulless. Shame, won’t be going back.

Didn’t buy anything but I came in and asked if I could use a charger for my phone as I would’ve had no bus ticket to milton keynes area. They let me use it and took me in and offered tap water and gave me it with ice and lemon. Very friendly staff, will come back if I ever return to Watford

First time eating bunch here and the food tasted very good plus the service was exceptional! They went the extra mile to ensure your welcomed and enjoy the time here! Will diffenately recommend people to eat here!

My wife's 30th birthday plans fell through last minute and I was trying to organise bottomless brunch for her and 15 friends. I contacted The Garden Rooms in Watford with my enquiry and they got back to me straight away and we organised the whole thing on the phone. I hired the basement room for 15 of us for bottomless brunch. The booking process, to the day couldn't have been more simple and it was great to actually speak to someone rather than an external booking site! On the day the team helped us put up decorations and we had a staff member always around to cater to our needs. They took photos and kept the prosecco flowing throughout our time there! The food choices were brilliant for my vegan/vegetarian friends. Overall it was a 10/10 experience and we will certainly be booking again. Being tucked away made the afternoon very special and my wife and our friends had a wonderful time. Im not usually one to leave reviews but this place is a hidden gem and I was really impressed by the service.

Hidden gem, well worth a visit, the staff are warm, friendly-excellent. This is a fairly new bar, had been recommended to me, so glad we popped in. It’s just off the high street, we went for one and stayed all night. After catching a whiff of another customers tapas we ordered a few dishes, so so tasty! The prawns and potatoes in particular were lovely. Food came out quickly, was beautifully presented and we made the most of the beer and tapas deal, great value for money. The music is good, the table service is a lovely touch, we will definitely return, after checking the Insta page we learned there are different themed nights/events, so we’ll definitely come back for bottomless brunch and quiz night. Wish this lovely bar every success!

Very nice venue for Dial Up event

What a surprise. Bar at night but cafe during the day serving unbelievable food. We went for. Mothering Sunday brunch and tried three different dishes. Each one was absolutely excellent and exceeded expectations. The huevas ranchos was amazing.

I noticed this place yesterday while I was waiting for a bus and it stood out so I went back today for a spot of lunch , I was immediately welcomed by the friendly guy behind the counter called Taz . I decided to have celeriac soup with a hint of apple and sour dough bread . The soup was delicious and hot with a hint of spice the chef Andy popped out and had a chat as we discussed soups as I am a keen cook myself. I will return with my boyfriend soon for lunch and drinks definitely a great place to eat and drink at with great staff 😀

Great vibe, delicious cocktails, visited on a Thursday night when kayla grace was performing live, brilliant night. The owners were superb hosts. Will definitely be going back for happy hour cocktails, highly recommend this bar /cafe.

We had the best night, went on Thursday night for excellent live music and a great atmosphere. The cocktails were nice and strong and delicious, took advantage of the happy hour 6-7pm. Highly recommend this place.

Great bar in a great location! Lovely place to eat and the cocktails were fab. I can recommend the Garden Rooms Martini and the minted lamb burger. We were treated like royalty and had the whole downstairs bar to ourselves. They can seat parties of up to 20 and I'll definitely be back!

Avo and eggs on toast lovely. Partner had Huevos Rancheros with extra chorizo which was delicious. Coffee and cocktails very tasty, too!

We went a long time ago. We ordered two coffees and two croissants. The coffees were good but the croissants were terrible. The cream they had inside was bad. They treated us like crazy people and instead of making us happy they gave us two pastries, nothing like a croissant, dry and tasteless and they charged us for them at the price of croissants. We have never gone again and we will not return.

Wonderful cafe: Excellent eggs Benedict and good coffee. Spotlessly clean and with lots of attention to detail and a gentle garden nod here and there, and night lights on the table, very cosy. Very friendly and professional staff. And apparently there’s a downstairs wine bar at night going towards the weekend each week.

I like The Garden Rooms very much. It's great to have an independent cafe' in Watford that offers a good and interesting menù and drink list. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff kind and polite. Well worth ditching the disappointing chains and patronise the Garden Rooms instead

Great little cafe, Brunch was good, egg Benedick was cooked to perfection with a nice sharpness off the lemon. Only downside is the coffee, my flat white was watery.

Enjoyed fabulous West Indian food. The lamb was so tender along with yummy sweet potatoes. A wonderful different off the beaten track treat. Thank you!

Myself and husband have visited twice now and both times have been fantastic! Great drinks, great food and great service! We enjoyed drinks in the downstairs bar first of all which is such a cool and quirky space to be in. On our second visit we enjoyed the Greek and Cheese boards with lots of lovely wine in the upper bright and airy cafe bar area! I also sampled one of the new yummy cocktails! This is the perfect date night, coffee catch ups, lunch with the girls and cocktail nights venue all wrapped into one! I already look forward to another visit after Lockdown!

Have been wanting to try this place out since it opened a few weeks ago, so arranged to meet a friend for lunch. We were so impressed with everything! Great decor and atmosphere, with friendly staff and a fantastic selection of food - including gluten free and vegan options. Can't wait to come back for an evening in the downstairs bar!

Fantastic brunch today at The Garden Rooms! Huevos rancheros for the grown ups and Mac and Cheese for little ones. Food was fantastic and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Will be back to try more of the menu (plus drinks) !!

Lovely afternoon spent at The Garden Rooms. Great atmosphere and delicious food options! (The Super Salad bowl sooo good 😋). The service was great. Will definitely be back to enjoy some of the lovely wines!

My daughter and I dropped by for brunch today. The cafe is very pleasant and decorated beautifully. A very warm welcome too. There is a good menu, enough choice but not over fussy! We tried the smashed avacado on toast and a fishfinger sandwich. Both were great! Very fresh and good quality produce. Had a look at the bar downstairs which is lovely. With talk of cocktails, wine tasting and a good choice of sharing platters we will definitely be coming back to try these out on an evening. So nice to have a good quality, independent venue to eat and socialise in Watford. Highly recommend.
