We were heading for a coffee somewhere in Rugby when we spotted this place. It's a little quirky as you walk through a garden centre type area before finding the coffee shop. We could have spent a fortune on garden stuff if we hadn't been on our way south for a holiday. All done up for Christmas the whole place looked wonderful. We just had a coffee but the cakes looked delicious. There was seating downstairs which was a bit cold but we were told to go upstairs where there were plenty of spaces and it was lovely and warm. And the coffee was delicious. So glad we found this place and we will make a small detour from the M1 at Lutterworth if we're passing that way.

We called in today for a cup of coffee on our way to Lutterworth and for a look round the lovely items they have for sale. Coffee was excellent and the visit was made even better by the choice of gluten free cakes - 4 in all and all kept in a separate area of the display. The ginger cake was absolutely superb (so much so that we bought a slice to take home). It is so nice to find a venue that clearly understands the needs of a Coeliac and provides gluten free food and takes steps to ensure that cross-contamination does not happen. We will be back.

After a stay in Cambridge I was caught up unfortunately in the aftermath of an incident on the M1 . After being held for hours I was in desperate need of a rest break and found this place by accident. Despite the place having finished serving and due to close imminently a lady behind the counter must have felt very sorry for me and still served me a drink and a cake . I was able then to carry on home . I was very grateful indeed as it had been an awful afternoon.

Can only hope this was an isolated incident but not at all impressed in this “ attempted “ visit . Previously loved this place but after the rudeness encountered the week before last we will have to have a serious think if we will go back as unless attitudes change it’s doubtful. Myself and my husband stopped by for a quick coffee before heading over to friends shortly before 3 . My husband had barely opened his mouth when a young “ lady “ screeched at him that they closed at 3:30 . Not wanting to continue to be the inconvenience we clearly were to her and her colleagues we left without anything . Sorry to have interrupted your party with thoughts of having a coffee that I am assuming is part and parcel of your job description. To add insult to injury the signs around the venue clearly state that service is till 15:30 !!!!!!

I visited the garden barn one morning this week to meet a friend for a coffee and cake. Once seated in the small family room down stairs with my 1 year old I noticed a mouse near our table the mouse darted across the room then under the door. A member of staff came into the room to bring our ordered food, I informed her that I had seen a mouse. The staff seemed completely unfazed. I mentioned that I appreciated the location of the barn, however it made our remaining experience slightly jumpy.

Today we as a family visited the Barn and while there my son inlaw decided to treat us to cake and drinks, he put in the order and paid and was assured they had all the cakes, well after some wait the drinks came ( no spoons) but after over half hour the cakes hadn't arrived so my son inlaw went to see what was happening, eventually some one came with three cakes although two were not the ones ordered but we decided to keep them but then the waiter informed us that they had sold out of the other two cakes so we ordered others only to find when he came back only had one of them !! so had to have something else !! Now if the order had been made up at the time of being submitted and paid for , we would have had the correct cakes as plenty of them on sale !! We were not offered any complimentary drink or anything in way of an apology which when I worked in the hospitality trade was the correct thing to do which is really a good thing to do for business and a return of custom. This was a special treat being Mothers Day also this place is a fair drive for us. Needless to say we will not be returning to a place that doesnt care about its customers.

It’s been a while, I have great memories of this place, can it still deliver? Absolutely, I stopped by for light lunch and had a panini. As always with Garden Barn, there was fresh ingredients, decent portions and bonus extras of carrot, hummus and pistachios - delish! My only regret was that I had no room left for some yummy cake that I had seen in the cabinet. Great coffee in a large mug washed it all down. When visiting my sister-in-law on the outskirts of Rugby we always seem to have a stop at The Garden Barn for a ramble through the very eclectic items for sale, and I must admit one or the other of us usually finds something to take our fancy). However on this occasion we also had a bite to eat, which overall was very good. My wife and sister-in-law both went for panini’s while I had a toasted sandwich and we all found them enjoyable, and served quite hot which can be a problem in centres like this that tend to serve food far too cold for my taste, the coffee and the well chilled white wine was also quite good, and all at a reasonable price.

Me and my two boys had just finished our week holiday on a boat with an odd collection of uninspiring meals (see my review of the Rose inn) - this place was a drop in visit as I needed a coffee and my boys a hot chocolate, and possibly a brunch bite before we headed up the M1 - this place was a very very welcome oasis - the staff were a step above excellent, very warm and friendly and the food was awesome...my boys eyes were on stalks at the fully loaded waffles and hot chocolates. I had the toastie which was layers of ham cheese and mustard and very fully loaded. Extremely tasty and the really nice touch of carrot sticks, hummus and pistachio nuts were a nice touch. The place itself is very quirky with lots of interesting odds and ends, much of it genuine rather than your usual garden centre "made to look old tat"...I very highly recommend this to anyone who fancies a bit of a mooch and a nice bite to eat or drink in an excellent atmosphere....thanks

The service is top-notch, with friendly and helpful staff always ready to assist. What impresses me the most is their well-stocked inventory, offering a wide variety of products. Whether I need groceries, household items, the Post Office or a quick snack, I can count on finding it here. It's a true gem in our community, and I highly recommend Gilmorton Village Store to everyone.

Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Food & drinks very reasonable. Food very tasty, nice to find a pub with good wholesome food, and not a gastro-pub.

A great place to eat or just have a drink. Their tea cake/bread is wonderful.
