The Gannet Inn Restaurant in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

An excellent choice for our lunch with friends. Beautifully appointed and a lovely lounge area on arrival which is ideal for pre-lunch drinks and menu browsing. The menu was excellent and we were able to have some starters as mains and vice versa to accommodate our appetites. The food was fantastic and very good quality. One of our group commented that the mussels were possibly the best he had ever tasted. A good selection of beers, wines and spirits accompanied the menu perfectly and we had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch.

Visited for evening dinner, possibly one of the best restaurants in the area. Delicious food, excellent service and a friendly atmosphere.

My wife & I had a great experience at the restaraunt last month, the food was delicious. Very friendly staff, a young waiter even noticed I was looking for spare seats in the lounge area, and after our meal, he came over to our table and offered us seats by the fireplace with a drink. Very thoughtful. Would come back often if we didn't live 7 hours away!

We stopped here for Sunday lunch. There was limited parking directly outside. The building is lovely with high ceilings, tasteful décor and comfortable seating. We ordered the beef and pork Sunday roasts both of which were excellent. For desserts we ordered the chocolate tart and sticky toffee pudding and again they were superb. The service was friendly and efficient throughout. This was the best meal that we had during our week's stay in the area and we would not hesitate to recommend it.

Possibly one of the best restaurants in the area, varied menu, something for all tastes. Excellent service. With a delightful atmosphere, would highly recommend.

Well presented venue, tastefully decorated and furnished. The staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. The menu offered a great choice of starters, mains and desserts, and all appeared to be cooked using quality produce. The wine and drinks list also offered a comprehensive range and seem to provide for tastes. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly and added to an overall great experience.

A bit of a walk to the beach from the hotel but what a beach, like being abroad. Absolutely love St Ives. Rooms were nice and with a comfortable bed, bonus. Restaurant was in the main hotel where our room was in a different building a quick walk away. The food in the Restaurant was really good and not too expensive. The rooms were reasonable for a couple but for a family your looking to pay twice as much. Plenty of parking too either mext to the main hotel or a short crossing over the road. Would stay here again!

Me and my mum had a great stay here! the rooms were lovely, food was great and the staff were so welcoming! A special shout out to Amber who made us some fab coffees with Casper ghost faces in them - such a nice touch :)

Helen and her team are wonderful and the food exceptional we have been coming to the gannet for over 10 years and it never disappoints we live locally. Went to the Gannet restaurant St lves road for a Sunday roast, the four of us sat in the lounge and had a drink before dinner very relaxing dinner was the Sunday roast and was excellent the meat was melt in your mouth we were all very pleased

Updated and tasteful. The staff is the star of the experience. Welcoming, caring and knowledgeable front desk. Wonderful breakfast and great restaurant on site. Will be delighted to come back.

Apologies that this is a couple months late but I came here with 5 other friends (back end of May 2024) shortly after unexpected surgery with two injuries and the team at the Gannet couldn't do enough for me. They upgraded me to a better room to make me more comfortable and looked after my friends and me so so well. Especially after a friend fell ill during our stay as well! They worked well with their sister hotel Carbis Bay to help us with transport to-from and the team went out of their way to go above and beyond and make my stay really positive despite my injuries. We all enjoyed an incredible meal at the restaurant one evening also..Every friend was raving about the food. I hope to come back to try more. Thank you so so much to the Gannet team for all of your help and I hope to stay again once I'm all recovered!! So thankful to you all, such a friendly team.

Visited this Restaurant in May 2024 with my wife and Father in Law and we were greeted by friendly, welcoming and polite professional staff. Service was excellent and the food delicious. Pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes too.

A very good choice on the menu and well staffed. I was also impressed with the choice from the drinks list. Everything was reasonably priced, although I do feel that puddings are way more pricey in recent times across a lot of places. But, I'd reiterate that I enjoyed the restaurant snd would recommend.

We didn't stay in the hotel but we went for food as we were staying in the local area. We were hooked in by the pie and pud night and it did not disappoint. Excellent pies with a generous portion of mash, veg and gravy to accompany. The pud was included in the price of £18.50 and it was delicious. Service was excellent! Well worth a visit if you are in Carbis bay and want a nice pub to eat at.

My Dad and I popped in for lunch on way back from a morning in St ives and so glad we did! First time here. We had the mixed grill and carbonara and a bottle of house red. All of it was the best we've had for a very long time and the decor is gorgeous. Its my birthday next week and we will be coming back here to celebrate!

The Gannet welcomes guests to savor local specialty prepared perfectly using a high-end conventional style. It is the place when gourmet signature cocktails are showed up and accompanied with exceptional entree. But the tiny detail was arised while making reservation - the gentleman was in a hurry and his answers was surprisingly short. Honestly, I was a little bit nervous and my mind just went blank and my stomach was gripped in horror. I’m leaning toward thinking that it was a peak time for the restaurant.

We had a nice evening at the Gannet restaurant. It was fairly busy yet the restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere. We ordered Moules Frites and whole grilled Mackerel with tomato salsa which was really good, fresh, well cooked and presented. Generous portions too. The food was lovely and the service friendly and attentive.

We had a really lovely roast dinner here. I’m really fussy about my roast, however, everything was fresh, tasty, and made to order. Service was great and the kids portions are fab!

My partner and I had a child free night and had to go to hayle, we decided to head out for dinner. We live reasonably local and ha e some amazing restaurants around us. We had a Google and found that The Gannet had great reviews so decided to give it a try. How disappointed we were. I had the Kiev which was basically chicken wrapped in garlic breadcrumbs, no garlic butter inside. Presentation was lovely but the taste was not there. My partner had the carbonara which looked like pasta and sauce just just dumped on a plate. I hate giving bad reviews but I'm afraid for a £70 bill it was way below the standard of many restaurants in the area. Service was good as a positive

Well what can I say .. decided to book The Gannet Restaurant for my birthday on recommendation..Service was excellent and food was best I've eaten for a long time .. decided to go for mixed grill which was cooked and presented to perfection. My wife had gammon which she enjoyed. Waitresses were ready with candles to sing me happy birthday ..but too full to have pudding lol... already booked for next week ... thanks again Gannet..highly recommend

This restaurant was spot- on from our first interaction with staff as casual diners to our beautiful meals with great service provided throughout. The restaurant is very stylish with great ambiance. I had Chicken Kiev which was beautifully- cooked with an amazing sauce.

We stayed in Carbis Bay for a week eating out every night and the Gannet Inn was our favourite. Welcoming staff and very friendly. The food was amazing. The beef and ale pie! The monkfish was delicious too. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely book here again

We were visiting on a Sunday and fancied a roast dinner so we decided to come here. The roast itself was delicious and a good portion which was 5/5 however, the service wasn't too great as we waited a while for someone to take our order then waited a while to find someone to ask for the bill.

We went to this restaurant last week on our way back from a day at the beach. There were 6 of us, including 2 toddlers. The food and drinks were great but what really set it apart from probably everywhere else we ate in St Ives/ Carbis bay were the staff and service. They really couldn’t do enough for you. Thank you

I visited here with my friend when we first arrived at Carbis bay. We booked it online earlier in the day and they only had 2030 which was good for us! But they rang within minutes of booking explaining they had a cancellation and offered us a earlier slot if we wanted it. Which we turned down as it would have been too much of a rush for us. When we arrived we was greeted and shown to the lounge area where they offered to take our coats for us. We grabbed a drink whilst browsing the menu which all sounded so good so was tough to choose! We placed our order and was then shown through to our table when the starters where ready. The food was just amazing! I had just some bread and dips for starters as didn’t want anything too big before my mixed grill that I’d opted for. The mixed grill was gorgeous! Tasty, well cooked, well presented, just amazing! My mate had prawns to start and some fish dish which he wouldn’t stop saying how amazing it was!! We decided to have some desserts as well where I had ice cream as couldn’t handle anything too heavy after a big main meal and my mate had the chocolate fondant which looked incredible! Service was also amazing! Staff very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us! Will be returning before we go back home and would recommend to anyone!
