Good Sunday Roast, friendly service and a nice pub atmosphere. My only complaint is that they added a service charge to the bill. This is not British!

Are here on two nights after our pub closed for evening meals. Fantastic food, and definitely the best triple cooked chips I've ever had. Everything was perfectly cooked and very tasty. A great selection of GF meals for my wife. The cask ales 360° were delicious. Staff were brilliant on both nights. would definitely recommend to anyone. The 16th century put was full of character. It also had an excellent beer garden.

I am a particularly difficult person to please when it comes to my drink of choice. The humble tomato juice has been mocked and ignored for some time now, but slowly, a movement that seeks to share the love of the tomato elixir has seen sales increase across the uk by a whopping 3% (according to hotelier magazine!) Anyhow, enough of the boring stuff. I put the team to the test and ordered two tomato juices to see how the team at the Gallipot treated my beloved drink. One with tabasco and one with worcester sauce, thankfully the pub used the best of ingredients as mixers and made sure the balance of tomato and spice was perfect. They didn't over ice the drink either, ensuring some care was taken to get the drink down to the perfect temperature for immediate consumption! So establishments don't give the humble tomato juice the respect it deserves, but the Gallipot team understand tomato juice drinkers. This review is being shared with the Facebook pages: @tomatojuiceloversuk and @juicing as it's important we know who treats vegetable drinks with the respect they deserve. Top marks to an amazing team!

Stunning lunch and excellent service in a beautiful setting. Service was attentive and the staff are trained to a high standard. It’s particularly good to see younger staff working with confidence and a sense of humour without being overbearing. The chef REALLY understands fish cooking and the scallops were perfect. Met friends here who had been before and highly recommended it. What a fabulous surprise it was! This is a family run pub and everyone was so very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious - mussels for me and then Hake - followed by a delicious Affogato. We had great fun with the owners and promised that we'd return again soon. The service was also excellent and personal. Can't wait to go back and would highly recommend this little gem!

The Gallipot Inn is the best pub for miles, Kerry and Leo have turned this place into everything you could wish for in a countryside pub. The service is warm, friendly and has a family vibe. The food is exellent with a great selection, the sunday beef roasts are something else. The garden at the back is awesome and a lovely place to be. Also doggo friendly so you can bring the pooch. Nice open roaring fireplace and wood burner the opposite side of the pub.

Warm , friendly welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Cosy, busy little Pub with a lovely atmosphere. Dog friendly too. Delicious Sunday Lunch. We seldom order pub roasts as they're always disappointing - Not here though, everything was absolutely delicious, not an over-cooked vegetable in sight! Starters, Burger and Pud all delicious too. Compliments to the Chef. Service was faultless , a hardworking team and the service charge was worth every penny. We've already booked to return.

Ourselves and another family wanted somewhere to relax after a walk in the lovely Ashdown Forest, 4 adults and 6 boys. This pub came up in my search with top Tripadvisor ratings and I am not surprised. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and well looked after. Absolutely fantastic, from the moment we walked in through the door, to leaving. We were welcomed by a really friendly waitress, who made a real point of looking after us! I’m coeliac, and felt that she really understood what this entails. So reassuring! The food was some of the best pub food, we have had in years. My husband loved his starter of kidneys, followed by smoked haddock. But, all the meals were great. Our friend’s haddock was huge! This pub was such a good find and anyone local, is lucky to have such a gem on their doorstep. Unfortunately, it’s an hour’s drive for us, from West Sussex. But, definitely wouldn’t hesitate to make the journey again. Thank you for making a catch up with close friends so special!

Having not really been out since March, we decided to go to The Gallipot for our first pub meal. Extremely glad we did. The new hosts have made the pub socially distanced without ruining any of the relaxed atmosphere & we were gently reminded that we needed to add our details to the 'track & test' log & there is a full wall mounted hand sanitiser in the porch outside the entrance to the pub. As a party of 6, we were given a nice big table, a good way from other diners. My scallops were delicious, as was the starter of Sussex smokie & we loved both our mains of Hake & Crab salad. The younger members of the party enjoyed the burger & our friends daughter who suffers from some food intolerances was able to have her 'go to' of a plain bowl of pasta with cheese which although not on the menu was provided without any questions when we phoned ahead. The brownie was to die for & Eton mess was huge & full of fruit rather than bulked with just meringue. The service was perfect,- polite & efficient with lots of smiles. Although we have used this pub for years, we were still slightly wary of having a meal outside of a home environment. I can honestly say we were delighted, we felt as safe as we could possibly have done & look forward to returning again soon.

Never judge a book by its cover, the Gallipot Inn is unassuming inside and out, but the food is great. We had a lovely lunch en famille with lovely choices for adults and children alike. Service was good and there was a nice atmosphere, if you are passing do pop in, you will enjoy!

This stunning little pub earns top marks from the Concierge Desk.Since December 2019 we have sent almost 100 covers here, not all at once though!Wooden Beams, low ceilings and open fires all contribute to the atmosphere here. The idyllic and well looked after garden at the rear looks out onto farmers fields, a great setting for an afternoon / early evening drink in the summer. A short walk from Pooh Bridge and the House at Pooh Corner making it a great stop for those going on an "Expotition" as the bear calls it.The menu is well thought out, well presented dishes ranging from Arancini with Rabbit and Chorizo and Confit Duck with Pancetta, Lentils and Chicory as well as classics such as Fish & Chips. The team are friendly and welcoming. We have worked closely with both Leo and Imogen on several group bookings recently. Most notably, a group this past weekend that consisted of the families of our fellow Concierges from several of London's leading hotels. Feedback from this group was excellent, all meals were thoroughly enjoyed.Price-wise we feel that meals here are value for money, as well as good quality. On the whole, we thoroughly approve and suggest that if you are in the area and looking for somewhere to eat, get over to the Gallipot Inn!For any additional information please visit our Facebook Page @sussexconcierge

Friendly staff and great views in the garden. Unfortunately no Zinfandel rose but lovely gin. Lovely in the summer but must visit in the winter of course.

On Friday 14th we walked to the Gallipot ( one of our local pubs) for a simple lunch. I was served a glass of wine which was definitely not Sauvignon Blanc, I suspect we were given a cheaper brand. We both ordered the venison burger which was dry, overcooked and poorly presented. The ‘salad’ was a few limp leaves, some outer rings from a red onion and some dried out mustard and cress! The Harvey’s beer however was excellent. We have family visiting next week and we certainly won’t be taking them to this pub; indeed we won’t be going there again any time in the near future - come on Gallipot you can do much better!

What a great evening, celebrating Burns night with our neighbours in a brilliant local. All the tradition, the address followed by three courses. Haggis was just perfect. As always, really considerate and friendly staff.

Came here as part of a group for a Christmas Fayre. Hardly any words can describe how poor it was. Not so much the food being bad but the service was simply deplorable. Do explain why you can’t serve your turkey without gravy? Your waitress couldn’t.

The place is so Quaint and the food is delicious. I just wish servers would listen to what the customers say I had water with lime in it and I already had it mixed in the line was squeeze to perfection and the server came back by and I and he asked me if I wanted more water and I said yes, for halfway to the top of this ice.Keep gave me a full glass of water, or nearly. It would not be a big deal, but the fact is, I explicitly asked for him to fill it halfway again. These servers, these days, they're just giving you what they want to have, they're not understanding in our paying attention, but they want to get a great tip fortunate for them. We tip well my boyfriend and I. But I am really getting aggravated with this. So overall, the meal was fine. It's just at these people do not listen.

Really disappointed. Arrived at 4ish on a Tuesday in half term with our 15 and 11 year old to a completely empty pub, just one patron sat at the bar. Really lovely cosy large area next to the fire that was empty but immediately told by bar staff we couldn't sit there with children due to licensing rules! We were allowed to sit in the drafty back lobby by the gents loos - not so great. Weird atmosphere, we clearly weren't welcome, shame as we'd planned a few rounds and dinner but we headed back to our local accommodation instead. Looked like a really quaint pub just wish we'd realised it wasn't somewhere for families.

This is my favorite tea shop. I love the rose cake and the scones are my favorite. They are so delicious. I want to go there every day. I am happy every time I visit here with my husband and my dog. The atmosphere is comfortable and the cake is delicious. The taste of the tea is good.

We had a meal here on Saturday as they were advertising a new menu. I had the salmon and my husband had the stuffed pork chop. Both dishes were so so lovely. The flavours were so fresh and the portions were really good as well. My husband said he hasn’t had a pork joint like it before and was blown away. You won’t be disappointed with the food here and we are fussy. The staff are all so lovely and really attentive. We will def be back soon
