Bought a large cheesey, for my partner and I to share, the box containing the chips was hot, which is why we were so surprised that our chips were completely raw. Thats £4 waisted, on something that I doubt even the seagulls will touch. Honestly dont waist your time going there.

I had lemon dill blue cod with chips and salt &pepper squid. Everything was fresh and taste amazing. The owner was super friendly and served us after closing time. Higly recommended.

Staff were rude and didn't even want to serve us. When received food it was cold and greasy when being told was waiting for fresh so at least expected it to be hot!

As a Cornish resident....almost been here 9 years now ...tried to use this chippy as my local been a resident in truro Every time I visited always greeted by the miserable blonde girl that always makes it seems a effort to take your order and crack a smile (She may not work there anymore but on most occasions I went in she was-since have stopped going) Awful service ...overly priced for what you receive I once went in and ordered a small chips much to the dismay of the staff and I could count the chips in the box.....8 chips 😂... ,

The chips were cooked really good the way I like it and nice pleasent staff here as well great for a quick snack

Can't believe the miserable, rude attitude of the girl who served us. It was as if it was all too much trouble for her to serve us or even speak to us! The chips were hard (even our dog had a job to chew them when we took a few back to the car for her), the fish was ok but rather small and the meal was rather expensive. We shall not be going back that's for sure.

Fish and chip shop conveniently placed near the piazza and shopping area. Good quality fish and chips at very reasonable price. Service is both friendly , helpful and efficient. Can recommend.

A few months ago we started popping into this Chip shop, and we've always had a good experience. I cannot comment on the Fish as we don't eat it, but the chips and cheesy chips are always piping hot, even when walking around the Christmas market they haven't gone cold. The shop is very small with limited seating, but there is plenty of seating in the middle of Lemon Quay, so this isn't a problem. Great take-away meal at good value for money, will definitely be visiting again!

Suddenly , this previously badly rated takeaway is renamed Fish 'N Go and appears to be under new ownership. Ordered Large Cod and chips Sunday lunchtime and.. wow.. fantastic huge flakes of Cod.. OK but acceptable chips (after a 15 min walk home). Best fish and chips from the city centre in years.. but no ability to review under it's new name! Cannot believe the quality of the fish. This is no longer the Galley (please note TripAdvisor) Top marks to new owners

my husband had freshly cooked fish and chips which were excellent. i had the fish nuggets and chips which were not so good, they were on the dry side.

i have been to cornwall for 32 years and i have never had food ruined.so expensive as well. the owner let his daughter. serve people and she also put salt on the food,that made it so you could eat it. the fish was dried up and terrible. i will never go there again. as for paying for it. the girl didnt have a clue how to use the card machine. you have to put the amount into it first then. the pin. she just passed me the machine and type in what i want. it took my daughter to correct the girl. then the girl was very put out by us saying some thing, we went away and drove back to our site and found that the food covered in salt so we couldnt eat it, so the bin had it. bad evening start. why have a counter assistant that has no clue.

Have visited here numerous occasions whilst in Truro. Have always thoroughly enjoyed the food from here compared to other chip shops. Would agree with most of the reviews about staff’s attitude though as each time no one has been over friendly.

Expensive is our view - even charging for forks! Chips were ok nothing special. They filled a hole. Overpriced and not the freshest which was surprising given how busy it was.

Fancied some chips. £2.20 for a box of oily scraps. Mostly bits and small pieces, some burnt to crisp, others soft and greasy. Couldn't eat them so found nearest bin, and guess what? Three similar boxes and all had a quantity of chips left in them. Obviously I wasn't the only person unhappy with the product today. Will avoid in future.

Needed to line my stomach before an evenings drinks and walking by caught the smell of fish and chips and couldn't refuse. As it happens it was a very good choice. The service was fine and the lady behind the counter was polite and friendly enough. Sampled the haddock chips and mushy peas with a cup of tea. Very limited room to sit in, but adequate, after all it is a fish and chip shop! The fish was fresh, succulent and large. Chips were proper chips as opposed to small ends with a few decent sized chips and plentiful. Everything was properly cooked and enjoyable. Happily go back there again.

Just moved into Truro and this is the first fish and chip shop I have tried in this city, the service was pretty bad to be honest, the girl that served me was more interested in talking to her friends than serving me with courtesy.The food was ok , even though I am still not 100% sure I received haddock, the chips were ok but very bland and white ,they are up for sale so maybe they have lost the sense of customer service and trying to please who knows? Hopefully a little more attention to the customer service and more colour and crispness on the chips would help.

Amazing fish and chips, always busy. They have a couple of seats just inside the door if you want to just eat them there and it costs no more. Lovely fish and chips and lovely location as you can just eat them on the piatsa...

Upon being served staff pleasant received my order sausage and chips were nice and gave a good portion of chips can't fault them, but as I sat inside to eat on the takeaway table there was no bins inside so I went back to the counter and asked if they could throw away the chip box, the lady behind the counter spoke very rudely and said no we don't throw rubbish away here go out and find a bin and they all started to laugh. Due to this I will not return again nice food let down by the staff shame

These chips were either frozen or freeze dried. As a result they were tasteless and dry; this was not helped by the very diluted vinegar.

Called in here early evening. Menu a bit pricey. Small cod and chips (and I mean small - the piece of fish was a child's portion) cost £4.20. The chips were disappointing and very dry. Wouldn't go back again

At first i rang up to ask about how the chips where cooked(As my co-worker and i are vegetarians, and many of the fish and chip shops in Truro cook the chips in either beef fat, or in the same oil they cook the fish,) The women who answered the phone was extremely rude. She passed me on to another women who was equally as rude. My co-worker then ordered the food. The service in shop was no better than on the phone. They both need a lesson in half decent customer service. The food was average.

The portions were a bit small and the service was indifferent. However you can eat them inside if it was raining - and it was.

Service was excellent. Just chips where really poor. All bleached white. Perfectly consistent in colour but without texture or flavour. Akin to pre-bleached quick fry chips.They where so poor, no amount of salt and vinegar could restore them and they where binned. Not sure why so poor as only reason visited was because followed Google recommendation and directions to find the place. Other reviews suggest should have been much better.

came here to get some chips on the 23rd of december 2015,i asked for a childs fish and chips and a medium chips ,the girl serving told me it was £12 something which i thought was outrageous so i watched her serve the food and noticed she was about to do two lots of fish and chips (wrong) so i interrupted and said i only wanted a childs fish n chips and a medium chips,she gave me an awful look and then argued that i had ordered differently ,and then blanked me, rummaged in the till and threw my supercharger money on the counter.No sorry or thankyou just an ignorant sour faced glare.wish i had gone elsewhere as the portions were small too it was expensive and this girl should not be allowed to serve.

I ordered takeaway fish and chips with my family, and I never leave disappointed! The food is good, the cod delicious, and the place has reasonable prices and is very clean. It is clearly one of the best chip shops in Truro!

We had ery large order, which was quickly dealt with, all the food was great - well prepared and fresh, and with a reasonable price.

Small but Deli Fish'n'Chips Shop in Truro Cornwall. Reasonable prices. Good cod in a fresh crispy batter out of hot oil but not with an oily batter on the dish. Friendly service, good ole metal forks and knives if you like. Congratulations!

There are a lot of pasty shops in Truro so it in nice to try something else. The food is good, the price is reasonable and it is fun to just be in the shop and watch the TV with all it's Skateboarding/windsurfing/ base jumping channel. Not sure what it has to do with Fish and Chips but nice all the same. Right in the center of town and stays open late.

Had a regular fish n chips and our daughter had sausagr and chips, good value and tasy, oyr daughter ate the lot too which is a compliment too....

We went to Truro for the day,we wanted some chips as we was getting peckish, hubby had pie & chips,I had fishcake & chips both were very tasty with plenty of chips,we sat in to eat(no extra charge)the lady who served us was very polite,good prices,would visit again when in the area(holidaymakers).

The chips were amazing. The cod bits are just enough. I don't eat a lot of fish. I got served with a smile and very helpful lady.JJust what I needed after the day of work I had. I wasn't in the mood to cook. Wednesday night. She was kind and helpful. :)

Chips are greasy as most fish and chippies in Truro are. Puts me off eating them regularly. Portions small in comparison to Tregunna's (that leads the pack - though limited opening hours there).
