A lovely location for a tea room, sadly we were let down by the food. The scones were warmed up to hide the fact they were stale and the jam was a cheap jelly. My son’s eggs were so under cooked the whites were still clear. My husband ordered a meat pie, we had to laugh as it was the smallest portion. Having said all that our waitress was lovely and very friendly. I don’t think we’ll be going back.

We had a belated Staff Christmas party there, no complaints about the food given that we were a large party and we had all ordered a pre set menu and it was a busy Friday night. The review is mainly about the accommodation, given it was a cold January day they had not turned on the radiator in the room, a minor gripe. The torn net curtain mentioned in another review has still not been replaced. The breakfast was OK, but it was really annoying and a bit petty to charge for a second cup of coffee when I asked for one, I have never been charged for coffee when spending £140.00 B&B. It's mentioned on their website, but note that there is no car park which might be an issue for some older or disabled travellers who will need to walk from one of the council car parks in town.

We have visited this Costa a few times now and the coffee is always nice and freshly made. The only thing we didn't like was on this occasion a dog was allowed to sit on a seat with an elderly couple and keep it's head on the table. We find that very unhygienic and decided not to get any food. Surely if dogs are allowed keep them on the floor.
