Excellent quality , superb, food , fun staff, nice atmosphere . Is cash only but worth it and no problem to pay by instant bank transfer , so could have just had a broken machine . Good selection of food on the menu from full meals to lighter snacks. Only reviewed because it was so good, for sure this is worth a visit if in the area. The roast beef sandwich was awesome as was the smoked salmon and cheese bagel. To top it off really really good coffee.

Very disappointing , have used once a week to meet my mother and have breakfast and a catch up , cafe was busy so we had to wait quite a while to get our Tea and Coffee , after another 10 minutes my 76 year old mother tried 3 or 4 times to get the waiters attention , each time she was ignored. The waiter came to the table behind us and this time I tried to politely get his attention , I raised my hand , I tried saying "excuse me" , we made eye contact , but each time he turned away and ignored me ... the rudeness of the staff , to totally ignore both of us is unbelievable .. a simple " sorry i'm busy , give me 5 minutes " would have been great , just to be acknowledged ... but to both be totally ignored is terrible staff service and manners. After the 3rd time of having him turn his back on me , I loudly raised my voice above the noise of the cafe to be heard " hello , excuse me " ... the owner then came out and told us to leave as it was unacceptable to talk to her staff that way , no swearing , no Oi you ... just raised my voice to get his attention after being ignored half a dozen times. Learn some service skills and how to acknowledge people , people then don't mind waiting and don't feel they are simply being rudely ignored. I would rather stick pins in my testicles than return to this cafe.

What a delicious breakfast- and with a Mediterranean twist! 😋😋 Visited earlier today, having never been here before.. The Mediterranean Breakfast stood out to me- which I decided to try, my ‘friend with benefits’ had the small breakfast accompanied with a tea- I had a latte. Freshly cooked, tasted great- really good, served quickly! Really enjoyed the food. I’ve read some of the other reviews before posting this, it pains me to say but, if you expect homogeneous service standards and big cheap portions you go to a big monolithic chain- however if you prefer (as I do) individuality, quirky, personable and friendly people running their own business then I want exactly that and I want the uniqueness that comes with it. This cafe has plenty of seats, a great team who were very welcoming, buoyant, and very kind for a gentleman who needed a little extra help as we were there. To be the best customer, you’ve got to appreciate the hard work and effort it takes to run a place like this. Fantastic! Shall definitely return for another Mediterranean Breakfast sometime soon. Thank you

Absolutely lovely experience, food was great, service very efficient and was offered to move to another table when my grandmother was quite cold by the door. Only down side was the food didn't come out at the same time but it was lovely regardless.

Best vegetarian sausages; whole pieces of vegetables make up the bulk of them. Options for those seeking a healthy breakfast Price is very good for large portions and great quality- nothing to fault. Unlike other local cafes, with oil dripping from the food Staff are very earthly, and always welcoming. Dog always gets a sausage Lovely team of people who work well together Will miss our trips to this cafe, during the next month, hope they manage to survive this lockdown x

Good selection and reasonable portions

Sat in the restaurant for over half an hour before they noticed that they had misplaced our ticket absolutely ridiculous serving everyone else around us piping hot food whilst my cup of tea was brought over 28 minutes in absolutely ridiculous

Lovely freshly cooked breakfast and great value for money ,well cooked and plenty of it,sausages were excellent and finally found somewhere that does fried bread and black pudding. Excellent service and a decent cup of tea to. perhaps could have been a little quicker but if it's all fresh it does take time.

Needs closing down like now! Raw eggs 30 mins waiting so long drink nearly gone and cold. Used the bacon from the previous plate which had been next to the raw eggs to serve me a bacon baguette. Clearly been zapped on the microwave as too hot to touch let alone eat. Cut the bacon up into pieces to disguise the fact! No refund made or even suggested. No sauces to go with anything either. It’s almost like they are out of their depth. People using the microwave for everything. If you can’t cook poached eggs don’t have them on the menu! Needs some serious hygiene and customer service training!!! People can’t afford to pay for eating out at the best of times let alone for raw reused disgusting food! Furious!

My son and I had the mini breakfast, and yeah, it's not worth the money. To start, the toast came out 2 minutes before the actual food, so it was stone cold before the food came out, and we only got 1 napkin. I know there's a cost of living crisis, but really? We shouldn't have to hint down another napkin. The waitress doesn't listen very well and got our order wrong when writing it down. The menu says a portion of bacon rashers, which is usually 2 rashers, but we only got 1 measley slice. The sausage was that small. We needed a microscope to see it. We asked for a hard egg but it came runny. The waitress asked if we wanted any sauce and I said yes, tomato please and waited nearly 5 minutes for it to come and realised she wasn't even coming back so by the time we started eating the toast was like a rock and the food was cold. I have an appetite smaller than a childs, and even I went away still hungry. Should have gone to the burger van a few yards down the street. Save your money and eat elsewhere. And as we were leaving, we heard a couple stating that they wouldn't go here again either, so be warned.

I stopped in on a long Sunday walk with a friend. All we wanted was a cup of tea and a sandwich and this was a perfect choice.

Service was appalling. 2 minutes before I was due to collect our lunch I received a cancellation text that stated they were too busy. I went into the cafe to 2 of the staff sat around and 1 eating. I was told that if I was willing to wait another 25 minutes for them to eat their lunch then they would cook it. I had placed this order 45 minutes beforehand. I have also ordered perviously through ubereats, when I called to question why our order was over an hour and a half late Esme decided that the best customer service approach would be to shout down the phone at me. Will not be giving them another chance.

Always had a problem with this place! Ordered 3 times for delivery which was always late and when you call to chase the staff are rude, it eventually turns up 40mins later than expected! Thought we would try making a telephone order the 4th time and collect ourselves which didn't seem to work either, when arrived to collect the lady had forgotten she'd taken a telephone order! Today, I thought I would pre-order at 11.50am off google in the hope it wouldn't get missed, for collection at 12.30pm. I arrived at 12.28pm to collect, to receive and e-mail and a text saying they have cancelled the order just as I walked through the door due to 'very high numbers of orders' despite there being only two people inside!!! I had traveled 6 miles out of my way to collect lunch for my colleagues. Safe to say, we won't be trying again!

Popped in for a toastie and a coffee today. After waiting 30 minutes, when we asked where our Oder was, we were told the wait would be another 20 mins. We decided to pay for our coffee and coke and leave. Huge attitude from the lady in the kitchen barking well what did u order, to which I replied, hamg on, the waitress just told us it would be another 20 mins wait so why r u asking us what we ordered? staff are sweet but no training and totally disorganised. We went to the Local cafe around the corner and it was great, great service and food and we were served within 20 minutes of taking our sweet. Always keen to support our local businesses but sadly we will not return to the Galley!

Now it has new owners with what appeared to be school girls waiting on the tables who were just not with it at all had to keep asking for things, also noticed one of them smoking outside but never washed her hands when she came back in. Had roast beef dinner which meat was cold although fair selection of veg but not worth the money. Sadly this place has lost its charm and value for money now with typical loud run of the mill radio music playing which didn’t add to our experience at all. Such a shame as huge potential also limited menu just like any other cafe, sorry but won’t be returning.

Visited a few months ago and wasn’t overly impressed but thought we’d give it another go. We sat outside and waiting ages and no me came to take our order. Finally I went inside to place it. Ordered latte but got a cappuccino. Ordered a breakfast which was on the greasy side and had an item missing. Will not be going back.

Instead of making three ghost kitchens, why not upgrade your service and quality of food. Disgusting.

Food was very bad I ordered a latte coffee it was almost un -drinkable tasted like it had been dipped into perfumed water it was "very nasty and undrinkable" there were lots of people of all ages children running around parents were not concerned I would have thought the staff could have quietly advised the parents to request the children sit down, I saw it as a accident waiting to happen. Will my partner and myself go again I'm afraid NOT

Bacon and egg was hot, the yolk was soft and no uncooked white. Excellent!

We only went here as the Local Cafe was closed for the staff Holidays. Arrived and seated ourselves, staff came over to take our order and we had to wait at LEAST 30 minutes for it to arrive. This resulted in our coffee's being drunk so we had no drink to go with our breakfasts. Food arrived with no pepper or any sauces, we asked numerous times for the sauces from multiple staff members. I could tell they knew i was frustrated but got no apology and the cost of the breakfast was definitely over priced for the overall quality of the food & service.

The staff were very friendly and were very nice. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my battered Haddock but the chips were nice, but the peas were also cold. I thought my small plateful wasn't sufficient for my liking. My friend had a medium breakfast, which he said he enjoyed. If I go there again, I won't have the fish again. Overall the staff were lovely, but the food wasn't very nice, sorry to say.

Went in for breakfast today, waited 5 mins at the door before anyone acknowledged us. Told us to sit down at a dirty table and they would clean it soon. A big group came in 5 mins after and there table was cleaned instantly and took all their orders before even asking for ours. Language was appalling from the staff and completely unprofessional. Just didn’t look like anyone actually wanted to be there. We walked out 10 mins after entering still With a dirty table and our orders not being taken. Won’t be returning.

I am a carer and we popped in for coffee and cake😍the cake was absolutely fantastic had been home made,all the staff were amazing went above and beyond through our visit, this is now our regular restaraunt for our coffee and cake ,thank you to all ,your all amazing, 2 coffees and 2 huge slices of cake less than £10 for both👌

Lovely little place just off the High St .Great ,varied menu at very competitive prices ..happy polite staff , eating inside and Alfresco in a great little courtyard.

What a hidden understated gem of a place!!! Great atmosphere, fantastic dynamics and customer service between Hajni and Charlotte. Fab background music and exquisite breakfast!!! We wont be returning to the local cafe anymore as this is our new favourite...felt at home straight away! Will endeavour to try one of the lovely cakes on display next time...but we were stuffed! They serve the best bacon roll in town. Full of bacon and in a lovely toasted white roll dusted with flour. Add some fried tomatoes and it's great! Lovely milky white coffee too. Good value and so much more personality than your average chain cafe.

Popped in today for late lunch. Partner had the huge all day breakfast, I had a sandwich. Food was very good.....and reasonably priced. Place was clean and tidy. What made this place exceptional were the lovely friendly colourful staff.

Disgusting roast beef dinner. When my roast beef dinner arrived, the beef was stone cold. The veg seemed to be microwaved. Saw the waitresses outside smoking and come back into cafe without washing their hands. Won't be returning. Far better places to eat nearby!

Visited here on a sunday, had the large roast beef dinner and it was disgusting. The beef was all bits and not slices and very chewy and gristly. The vegetables are all reheated in microwaves. Wont be returning!

Awful! Ordered 2 baguettes with chips and a childrens fish finger meal. Was served 2 baguettes then Waited and had to ask repeatedly about the children's meal which was served hard and unedible. Chips arrived 30 mins after the baguettes also unedible. Staff seemed more interested in filling just eat orders. 2 other tables also seemed to have problems and left majority of the food uneaten. Would never come back.

Once again I have to say it is so nice to be back to see those lovely faces again and to meet new faces. I do love those lovely ladies, but it's a shame we have had to say goodbye to what I call one of those favorites. I have missed them all while we were in lockdown and I shall be pleased to go back in there in May. I want to say that we are so lucky that this lovely shop with the lovely staff has managed to work through lockdown, in case they lost their jobs. I love you all.

We ordered the medium breakfast and the mega breakfast via Ubereats and after reading some of the reviews we knew about the possible longer waiting time to be delivered, but we weren't in a rush. The food arrived about an hour later and it was piping hot. The quality of it was one of the best takeaway breakfasts that I have had. Phoned them as well to say that it was blooming lovely. Definitely a 5 star breakfast thank you, and no problems with swapping out some items that the son wasn't keen on.

We were very disappointed with the service today. It took around 15 minutes for our order to be taken. My sandwich turned up quite quickly, but after waiting another 30 minutes for the salad, we decided to cut our losses and go elsewhere. The staff were very apologetic, and said they were very busy, but they were only managing 6 tables and take-outs. From what I could see, it was utter chaos in the kitchen with no obvious system for processing orders. Gordon Ramsay would have loved it! Having found a superb cafe elsewhere, we won't be returning to this one.

Fantastic Sunday roast from the Gallery today. Proper roast potatoes, not that frozen rubbish from that well known aunt😉 Cabbage, carrots, parsnips and stuffing. Thick tasty gravy. Can't recommend enough. Perfect if you don't want to cook, arrives hot and ready to eat!! Delicious 😋😋😋😋

Have ordered breakfast from here twice and an evening meal once. Each time was not waiting long for delivery, todays breakfast turned up within 20 mins of ordering! Each time been big portions, which were hot and fresh on delivery. Staff who delivered on each occasion always polite and adhered to contactless methods. Very happy on all fronts.

First time I've been in there for about a year. I always loved the breakfast, but omg waited 20 minutes for my breakfast, waited over 10 minutes for my drink. A new lad was on his second day, had no idea what he had to do, not his fault and the women behind the counter were almost just asking orders ar him. He wore a pair of short, t-shirt and trainers no effort to be smart. AND THERE IS A FREEZER IN THE DINING AREA. Really gone down hill and the food was awful.

We go quite often here The Staff are so nice .We ordered Chicken Caser Salad.Sausages Egg Beans n Chips and 2 Cans Of Drink The service was Quick and we sat inside as 2 tables inside and the rest outside.

It all started very promisingly when we ordered at The Gallery. The ladies behind the counter were friendly and chatty and we got our drinks immediately before taking a seat outside.We ordered a round of toast with jam for one and a jacket potato with tuna filling. As time went by, we realised the toast had not materialised despite it being well... just toast. It didn’t even come out with the jacket potato that was, whilst edible, definitely blitzed in the microwave and came with no salad or extras.In the end, I quizzed one of the waitresses and she’d muddled the order and had my round of toast sent to a different table. The toast quickly came out after that but without a knife to spread the jam, so I fetched one myself. Only white bread was on offer – no brown or whole meal at all. On the plus side, the black coffee was good and staff at the start of our time there were genial. That being said, I doubt I’ll return.

This is the second time that I have written a review of the Gallery. and to say that I am absolutely delighted that the staff has managing to keep on working and earning money while still in Lockdown.I. as one of their regular weekly customers have been missing them and let's hope that we will be reunited one day before the year is out and I want to say finally that I am missing their lovely CHOCOLATE CAKE. MMMMMM. I recommend it if you want something to take away or even a TREACLE SPONGE. Even more Yummy. Keep it up girls you are doing a good job

We visited for an early lunch. The ploughmans plate had very soggy bread, a lump of cheese and some pickle. No more. The coronation chicken baked potato was very overcooked, and the chicken cuboid. Would not recommend in any circumstances.
