Lovely carvery with a friend Choice of meat good veg many and varied Should have had the small plate though in hindsite but will know for next time highly recommended

Very disappointed, beef was inedible and impossible to cut or chew ,we told waitress ,she was gonna tell someone ,but we did not get a response . Parsnips were hard ,the other vegetables were ok,mint sauce seemed to be mostly vinegar ,and spoiled our meal further. Dessert was awesome ,raspberry brulee cheese cake ,spectacular.The space in the car park maybe shows standards are not as good as they were . It isnt difficult to find this standard anywhere now ,but cheaper .

Started poor finished excellent. Booked a table for 17 on Mother’s Day and they said no problem. Arrived and we were seated on 2 separate tables. A bit awkward but The chap said well that’s how it is and you wouldn’t get seated anywhere else on a Sunday. Not the way to speak to a customer really.Anyway we rejigged the room about and eventually got the 17 together. 14 had the carvery and it was lovely and the other 3 had vegetarian meals that were equally impressive in both taste and portion size. So it ended on a high after a shaky start. If they didn’t or couldn’t seat 17 people together then don’t take the booking in the future. Booked a month in advance and paid a deposit so they knew we were coming

Very disappointing carvery, the veg were so overcooked they were almost indistinguishable as they had gone to such a mushy consistency. No food labels advising what each dish was, however the gravy was labelled beef and chicken…but I was told it was vegetable! Finally when taking a photo of the dessert blackboard to show the family, I was told ‘there’s no point doing that, it doesn’t match what’s in the cabinet’. Certainly won’t be going back

Popped in to catch up with a mate. Had the breakfast deal. Forgot to take some pics but can say the food was good all freshly cooked, scrambled eggs was spot on. Will be returning again soon, worth the 90-mile round trip.

Really good food and a great atmosphere too. Some quiet music playing in the background and good lighting. The food came fast and the servers were really friendly too. Lots of drink choices.

Some food was ok but a small carvery to come on a side plate was a joke for the money very expensive for such a small portion all round when 10 minutes up the road can get a much better meal will not come again

A Busy Sunday at The Farmers (A testimony to how good it is there) Plenty of room to accommodate everyone and plenty of parking space. Good, friendly, helpful staff) Excellent food, good portions and brought out quickly. Good value for money.

Ribeye steak is to die for!! Jacket potatoes are huge with plenty of fillings. You won't go home hungry!!

I organised a work do and Jake the manager was very helpful in doing this and there was no stress or pressure at all. On the day of the do, we were greeted by Arthur and the rest of the team who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.. The food was great and it all came out together. Thanks guys :)

4 of us had the carvery and our grand daughter had the chicken and chips children's meal. All had drinks and two of us had desserts. It was lovely until just after our grand daughter finished her ice cream we were ushered off the table. There were other tables free and it was quite rude how it was done. We won't be returning!

We just stopped off for hot drinks but they do food as well. We were greeted friendly on arrival and shown to a table.

Food was average, and the queing was unbelievable. Different systems would be better, queued to get in the door, queued to pay, and queued for food.

This place is always full for Sunday lunch! On my first visit I could see why! Wonderful carvery, staff are fantastic! Host is a proper Landlord. Cannot fault this place

Gee, this place is well worth travelling 45 minutes each way for. The atmosphere is always perfect because there is a complete spectrum of different ambiences available due to its size. The menu is all good, some very good and the sweets are amazing too. Great choice of drink with a nice bar. The service is extremely good which you’d expect from a good family business. We’ve been to several wakes there to which were a ball. Carverys are an absolute bargain. I qualified for catering and hotel management so I feel justified in my praise. Very easy to get to with very ample bargain to boot.

The meat on carvery was the only nice thing about the meal roast potatoes cold and dry pigs in blankets burnt and vegetables taste more like water all in all little disappointing only ate it because I was hungry

Absolute disgrace, I'd rather eat the tyres off of a plane. Carrots were so raw I may aswell have picked them out the ground myself. Don't even get me started on the potatoes, brought tears to my eyes. Had to use a chisel to eat my broccoli. I only went in there for a fry up and he sold me a false dream of a roast dinner, if that's what you can call it

Sadly dissapointed, been before always been ok for the price , today poor Turkey was so thin it obviously came out of a packet, veg was not cooked and roast potatoes probably yesterdays warmed up, pub was cold and atmosphere poor for Christmas.

Went with a big group of people. Preordered a halal or vegetarian meal no order was ready, not a big deal. However when asked about Halal options said only the turkey was halal but used the same carving knife to cut all the meat resulting in cross-contamination! Most certainly not halal nor acceptable!

I found the food and service pretty poor. I would not go again.

Great value, quality and service. I've loved this place for years. The carvery is always hot, well stocked and fresh.

What can i say but will be back again

Thanks to Arthur and the team for hosting my Mum's Wake this week. As always excellent service and food by Arthur and his friendly team, nothing was too much trouble. We were all looked after very well, thoroughly recommend, thank you very much.

For the price, the food was just about acceptable roast potatoes were hard as we're the majority of the vegetables accept the roast parsnips which were smothered in oil and slimey also undercooked but that said, it was all edible. It was very crowded and felt restricted for access space around the table.

We were 1st few in the farmers..25 of us caused a little chaos to begin ..but the girls serving soon got to grips and hot drinks were served..everything was good.. my only reservation was the quality of the sausages in my opinion. I am fussy with bangers.. not much flavour only in my opinion..drinks were extra on top of breakfast... most buffet breakfasts i know include tea coffee etc...overall good experience.. staff were excellent... world go again..

Weekday menu is okay but would recommend and rate the weekend carvery a lot higher.

Quick service, the carvery staff were a little grumpy but smiles from all other staff. You could tell it was nearing the end of service, and replenishing wasn't much of a priority but still tasty

Ive took my daughter away for a short break. Because she has special needs i do worry when we go to new places. We went to The Farmers for out first night meal. What lovely people. Jake was lovely on the phone & in person. Ellie was so nice. Both great at there job & amazing with my daughter. Food choice was great & so nice. Tables are spaced out. No negatives. Thank you

Fantastic Sunday carvery. Lots of meat as the young lad carving was generous thank goodness. Been many years ago and will definitely be back soon. Didn’t book and was very busy so doubted whether they could fit us in but they did as it seats a lot of people and the carvery is open until 8 in the evening. We didn’t really need to go at lunch time but we thought they were only serving at lunch time like they did the last time we visited but now we know we can go a little later. Beautifully cooked and plenty of choice of vegetables. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were outstanding. Please don’t change anything because you can’t improve on perfection…!

Wow, first time here on a Wednesday afternoon with my Daughter and good friend. We all had Roast dinner then 2 desserts. This place is amazing and Landlord is very witty and funny! 10/10. I will be back when custard is restocked 😄

Recently hired the green room for our renewal, cannot thank the management and team enough for a fantastic day .they gave us time to put our touch to the room prior to our time ,the buffet supplied was beyond expectation and the dj and music was great ,sorry can't remember all the names but thank you to everyone Neil and Jill

Big pub on the outskirts of Peterborough. Plenty of parking available. A beer garden to the rear of the pub. Really good food and fast service. We went on a Saturday and it seems very popular.

Nice carvery, found Yorkshire pudding way over cooked. No mash potatoes and the roast potatoes this time we're over powering with salt and pepper so couldnt eat any

We decided to eat here and were disappointed The tables were sticky and having both chosen the roast found meat had been defrosted and reheated and potatoes very small and baked and burnt We shall not be returning

I had the omelette. It was really good. The lad that served me was really nice, it was only his third week but he was very eager. I Will be back ! The place could do with more heating though.

Large country pub, extensive menu, lots of parking , very roomy pub,large outside seating area, friendly staff.

Carvery meat portions are quite small. Veg abd Yorkshire pudding very good.

All we can say is thank you held my 60th birthday party there last night 5/8/23 food was amazing 😋 (as usual) atmosphere was great 😊 and nothing was to much trouble, staff were very helpful and Simon & Jake organised everything even the disco 💃 which was amazing 🤩 we weren't made to feel rushed and had the facilities from 3pm-11pm made my birthday 🎉very special, thank you 😃

Very friendly and fantastic carvery

We had a party of 11 adults and 2 children. All the adults had a carvery and there was not one complaint among us. Wonderful traditional carvery. More like your home cooked without all the washing up. Broccoli, cauliflower cheese, swede mash, carrots,roast potatoes, mash potatoes, beef, gammon, lots more. Lovely gravy. Relaxed atmosphere. Not too crowded. All in all we enjoyed a fantastic meal and were able to hear each other speak.

Been to The Farmers many times as I live locally. The food is usually excellent, however this time round standards appear to have dropped. Firstly the meat is carved so thin you can see through it and fewer slices given, leeks no longer served in cream, stuffing balls more like kids marbles and dry. Roast potatoes have shrunk and beef gravy is thin, watery and tasteless. The cost has also gone up but that is fair enough and to be expected but shrinkflation on top is not good.

Food was lovely and fresh, only issue we found was upon entering for the first time we didn't know where to go, there's a sign in the entrance saying to wait to be seated, but no one came, so we ended up having to find someone to help us get a table, it did seem a little chaotic everyone floating around everywhere, took longer then expected when queuing for the carvery. We would visit here again for the food. :)

Just called in on the off chance that we could get some food as had been travelling all day!! We were not disappointed. A friendly welcome with a menu and a sit anywhere policy. Tick. An expertly poured pint of Guinness. Tick A roast dinner available at 3:30pm every afternoon at a fanstastic price. Tick. The roast dinner was probably the best I have had in an English pub ever!! Huge Tick!! Service by all staff was exemplary!! Biggest tick of them all!! Would recommend this to anyone travelling in or around the Yaxley area!!

Payed for 2 large carvarys the portion the meat we where given was shocking what a rip off for the price won't be waisting my money again. No wonder hardly any one there and the times they close shocking no where near value for money....!!!!

Me and my partner came here for a lovely meal on a lovely day and my gosh was I surprised of how beautiful the place was and the presentation of the food. It tasted absolutely remarkable and I would rate it a 5 out of 5 would definitely come here again. Looking forward to the future.

We had been singing at Peterborough Cathedral and we were with friends so on the way home we came across this pub and stopped off for dinner the carvery was lovely, hot and well presented with plenty of veg and gravy still available would recommend this pub for a lunch or dinner

Just enjoyed a 6-person Father's Day dinner here. Absolutely first class! We booked ahead, so were seated straight away, (excellent with two children, "just starving!") The carvery was brilliant, serving beef, pork, gammon and turkey, accompanied with too many vegetables to count! We all enjoyed this immensley, and left feeling full and satisfied. I cannot reccomend this restaurant highly enough. Kudos to all the staff, especially in this current hot weather!

Food was ok, just disappointed that mid meal we needed a drink & couldn't be served at our table, we had to leave our food as drinks orders have to be made at the bar. A shame as we would have stayed longer & had a pudding.

Booked table for a party of 9. We were not seen upon arrival and were told we had too look for our table. The service to get menus was poor as didn't get them until we went to the bar to order drinks, The food come out over cooked and not up to the usual standard of the restaurant usually delivers. There was a wedding reception and they seemed to take priority over ourselves even though we are a recurring customer and been here several times. Our service is just as important as a party. Feel let down and possibly looking for somewhere else in the future

Lovely and friendly staff, we where turned away from other places due to it being close to the closing time but the farmers happily let us in. The food was spot on even tho it was just at the end of service and they even offered us to go round again if we wanted. Thank you for such a lovely meal and being so friendly
