Ordered the corned beef pie and chips the pastry wasn’t cooked, I will not be returning.

Myself, my mam and my sister popped in this past Monday to see what the food was like nowadays as we hadn’t visited in over 10 years. What we were served with was a massive disappointment and was pretty much inedible. I ordered the sandwich platter which was around £6 for 2 slices of stale dry bread which tasted and felt like it had been out of the packet for days, supermarket ham and some basic ready salted crisps on the side and the odd leaf. Absolutely shocking to charge over £2/3 for that when I could have got more and a nicer meal from a Tesco meal deal. My families orders were shocking too and were barely touched. It’s safe to say we won’t be visiting again. It’s extremely sad to see what has happened to this place and needs taking over by new chefs and management immediately. The place also looks like it hasn’t been touched in over 20 years which is nice if you’re going for the retro look but at least clean your cafe.

If I could give this a 0 I would. Terrible cheap food. Definitely not worth the prices they’re asking. It’s ok to go here if you don’t have taste buds. This place has not been renovated or updated in decades. It’s unclean and has no feel to it. Do I need to say anything else? AVOID.

Only 2stars as the ladies toilets need a good clean and toilet seats need to fit the toilet bowl

If your having a bad day think again.. you could be related to the sour faced bag whos the manageress. Returned a milk shake which was like pink water her attitude is rude and she literally rammed the refund money in my hand. No wonder the place was empty

Easily the worst breakfast I’ve ever seen/attempted to eat. Fried eggs hard and swimming in oil, fatty undercooked bacon, shrivelled mushrooms and beans that must have been stewed for days!

Won't go again 1 staff member so rude being allergic to eggs put eggs on my salad wen complain was called a liar sniggered at etc

We used to love coming in here but over the years it's gone downhill which is a shame. The food is still lovely but everytime we've been they've forgot food from our orders. Got my mam a decafe milky coffee to which it looked nothing like a coffee more like a hot chocolate, took it back to ask if it was a decade coffee to which they said they've changed them, my mam said she'd rather a cup of tea I said I didn't mind paying but she took the coffee away and expected me to pay for the tea, if I'd of known my dad would of drank it. I told the lady if I'm paying for the tea then I should have the coffee back since I've paid for it, she went "just take it, just take it". I didn't appreciate the attitude and getting spoken to like that. Such a shame.

Went in for a cuppa and a scone my friend got a cuppa and a flap jack it was that hard she couldn't even bite it was like a brick I took it back and asked for money back the woman served me as though it was a chore and didn't even say sorry won't be going back

Keep well away. Had a breakfast and found hair in the food. They said it was from me funny how i dont have hair on my head. Keep away. Discusting. Enviroment agrncy would have a field day

there is really nice food i will go back again the chips are yummy and its fairly priced would definetly go back in

Lucky it got 1 star, we got 2 breakfasts, cheap beans that tasted like they been in the pan and cooked over and over, mushrooms over cooked, eggs, under cooked, full of jelly, bacon was mostly fat, hash brown was a mush, the sausages where the cheapest tasted vile, the toast, I'm not sure if it was lard spread on or my mums margarine, I took the breakfast back, nobody came to speak to us or offered our money back, we where warned, don't eat the breakfast before we went, wish we took the advise ROTTEN...

Had breakfast yesterday the 20th Dec 2022 it was really terrible every was deep fried bacon could not even chew it hash browns soaking in grease never again

Now I know Hartlepool still needs work, but as we needed a few shops we headed to Hartlepool wandered round the farmers market highly recommended, hit the shopping centre small chain stores but plenty of choice wanted lunch so called into the Galleries Coffee House, good heavens I have no idea why we stayed, but dire need of a cup of tea. Not sure they have a cleaning rota, the floor could do with seeing a mop, delightful fluorescent cards highlighting the non special specials, stained ceilings, grubby seats, not forgetting the large salt container direct from the supermarket . Cheap it was not, This is the first time for a long long time that I have given such a bad review, I only gave 1 because I had too and the staff were quite pleasant.

Nice coffee and a variety of delicious scones

Went for a meal with my wife as we have done on many occasions but today a member of staff was so rude to my wife we won't be going for a meal ever again.

Food was okay but good god the coffee is simply awful

Awful, first time we had been in for a while due to shut down. Ordered two breakfasts, food smelled, and tasted like it had been fried in old stale oil. Small milk jug was coated in yellow crud. Food spilled on floor and not cleaned up. £18.00 wasted Never again, used to be a great place to eat, never again, left food uneaten and we walked out. Place has gone right down the nick.

Went in for breakfast today, very poor, low quality ingredients and dripping in fat.

It was ok today but they're normally better from what I remember, it's been a while

Went there twice the first time one of our meals didn't even turn up the food was cold and unappetizing there was no flavour at all. The second time the bread bun wasn't buttered, the dumplings were greasy and the toastie was burnt. Do not recommend going here at all.

me and my partner went in here for a breakfast and i must admit and not to be rude it was one of the worst breakfasts we have ever had very poor quailty and we could not eat it had a few bites each then got up and left such a waste of 17 pound for the breakfasts and two drinks this used to be such a lovely place to eat but this day was not however give 2 stars not for the food but the staff as they were really nice my partner is not one to complain but please inprove your breakfast

Went in here because we were in need a a sit down so had one bottle of pop and one cake it came to over £5 which I think was a bit over the top. The place is ok lots of staff working away cleaning tables etc. Any food I did see come out was large portions but we didn’t have any so can’t comment more than that. Toilets unfortunately not brill husband described them as “not nice” .

I love this place! Cheap food and coffee, always tasty and piping hot and a proper bargain for the price. Whenever I'm in Middleton Grange, I usually end up here!

Went in for a milkshake, paid £7 for two horrible chocolate milkshakes in unwashed blenders with disgusting syrup that left a terrible aftertaste in my mouth. Didn't even bother finishing the drink. Total waste of money. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I will not be returning.

Ecxellent customer service just had one of there amazing walnut scones I'll be collecting some to take to london great food and welcoming staff .

Delicious frothy coffee. Lovely cherry and coconut scones. Friendly staff.

Ordered 2 all day breakfasts. You'd expect grease on a fry up but these were swimming in it. Not sure how they managed it but the bacon rashers were both crispy and undercooked. £15 for the 2 plates and now both of us feel ill because of them.

Date and walnut scones were nice. Cherry and coconut scones were good too. Toilets were clean. Staff were friendly.

A nice friendly place to go for a cupper.. Will go again.

The food was cooked and brought out quickly, the staff were cheerful and friendly. The all day breakfast was great for the price, I couldn't finish it because of how big it was.

Went in again to see if any improvement. NO! Encrusted, black dirt on the floor around the legs of the seats. Sat at table 12..... There was a diamond shaped cut-out in the table divider. In the bottom 1 1/2", between the tables, was @ 1" of old food and crumbs deposited there. Obviously hasn't been cleaned in quite a while. This would be an easy task. We moved tables quickly. I didn't bother drinking my cuppa. What a disgusting place.

Amazingly smooth tasting home made milky cappuccino. Mmmm so nice!

Clean premises, food was reheated in a microwave and customer service was virtually non-existent.

All I can say is UGH..... Jacket potatoe want cooked properly milk for the tea tasted funny, prices are way to high for the quality of food.....

Staffs are warm. Food comes fast. Quite busy.

There are not many places in Hartlepool to get a nice meal so if you want a change from McDonald's or fish & chips & don't like going into pubs this is your place .

Very good service and decent food friendly staff although they always seem busy.

We usually love this cafe but it was horrendous this time, took a ridiculous amount of time to actually get served and receive food . Both mine and my daughters food was ok but my husband and sons dinners were disgusting. My husband didn’t eat his as his fish was like rubber and batter rock hard, looked and tasted like it’d been reheated a few times, chips also bone dry and rock hard. My son usually loves fish and chips but he left all his fish . Really disappointed.

Visiting Hartlepool recently to see friends, I called into The Galleries for Lunch + Coffee. Once in the place I looked around first, were upon I immediately noticed that all staff in this Restaurant are very poorly trained, they don't have a clue. I went to the main counter to make an order of Fish+Chips, plus a milky Coffee and at which point there were lots of Flies around the open food compartments and ESPECIALLY the jugs that are used to top-up the frothy milk, lady serving me did not seem to be bothered so I told her to get a clean jug to use for my drink. Next I took a seat and was kept waiting for approx 30mins for my order to arrive, the place was not overly busy. Was very disapointed at the actual portion provided - little actual Fish, it was two thirds batter - chips were warm ups + soggy. Coffee was just ok. Needless to say, I did NOT finish my lunch, I found it a great let down. Spoke to the MANAGER in charge - no help at all, she did not care and was a very miserable person. Prices are too expensive. This Eaterie shows absolutely no professional service to which I find is disgraceful ! Advice to everyone - don't go there !

Dreadful food tasted of soap. Trifle was hard and tasted of anti septic. This was my 3rd visit and each time the food was awful.

Basic food slightly expensive but you get what you pay for.

Called in here while shopping. Quite a few in which is a good sign. Menu on table but order at till so take note of your table number. Plenty on menu and a specials board up on the wall with other things not on everyday menu. Full English breakfast caught my eye so ordered that with a milky coffee which tasted great. The breakfast was brought out within 5 minutes on quite a large plate. Food heaven. 2 Bacon, 2 sausages, hash brown, black pudding, mushrooms, 2 eggs, beans(or tomatoes if preferred) and 2 slices of toast. All for £6. Wife got the toastie which she enjoyed. Thoroughly enjoyed every bite and totally stuffed full afterwards. Recommend if you are in Hartlepool shopping.

Asked for a caramel iced coffee and got a hot coffee with ice in it. When we said we said that it was hot she said "it's got ice in it". Why would you sell products that you don't know how to make? Then the woman complained that it was "such a waste" when we asked for a new one.

Clean and very quick service . Hot tasty food , great portions. Good for families with kids. Plenty of choice.

I called in for a coffee and I also had quiche and salad ,the staff went above and beyond,carried my tray to my table ,as I had shopping bags ,food was delicious ,they even jive me a take out cup when I was leaving ,great service x

We popped in for some cooling drinks & a catch up, very pleasant seated area to relax chat, the drinks where made fresh & brought to us, staff where friendly & happy to chat.

The Galleries at Hartlepool serves very good coffee and the staff are very cheerful and obliging.

Great scones but they sell put fast. Get there before 12 noon. Always busy but staff are helpful.

This place needs a hygiene check it's absolutely unsanitary I watched the staff in and out the kitchen with food and behind the counter and seem many violations I know it's a busy cafe but don't slip on the hygiene and you or do this a lot. I can say on a positive nice staff behind the counter but I just won't eat here anymore you seriously need to up the hygiene and the way you coordinate the staff who cook the food. I seen a few scratching themselves face,head and pubic and still continue touching the food and no hair nets. Ok so I'm fussy I may be to you as I share my opinion but if that was my kitchen and staff I'd be yelling. I never allowed that in my work of place you scratch you wash list goes on. Score for hygiene and food not staff ie friendliness of them!

I went here yesterday with my partner and daughter and was really not impressed with the food,service or cleanliness. Part of my order was missing, the plates weren’t clean as they had bits all over them. The cutlery was the same, not cleaned properly with bits on them.

Great cup of tea ,toast or scone all freshly made , great friendly staff, always happy to help and they are always smiling, nice and clean restaurant,easy to get to .

I came with my boyfriend and ordered an all day breckfast for him and a sausage sandwich for my self our food came 10 minutes apart and when I asked the staff she said she doesn't know and walked away rolling her eyes, my drink I ordered came 5 minutes after my food and got half spilled of the staff on my table and she walked away. The food was cheaply made and priced expensive the bun was half hard and grease was coming off the plates. I would NOT recommend this place as it has poor service and even worse food!

Este café se basa en centro comercial arriba middleton Grange. El personal parecen haber trabajado allí durante años, lo que habla del volumen. El servicio puede ser un poco impredecible, dependiendo de lo ocupado que es ese lugar. No es extraño que la comida de otra persona puede colocar en frente de usted y luego unos minutos más tarde llegar lejos. batida Jajaja.

Tuvimos una comida para llevar y fue de lejos el más rápido que he tenido en mucho tiempo bien prescented y una muy buena opción de ensalada de remolacha, lechuga, pepino, queso, col. Cigalas estaba hecho a la perfección. Tenía un fresco de cerezo y un bollo de chocolate blanco salido del horno el día antes con crema de leche y mermelada. Absolutamente delicioso. Bien hecho

Two of us went for a full breakfast (more on that in a moment) and found at just 9am for the floor to be dirty in places (they obviously used a dirty mop) and for a number of tables to be left uncleared of crockery and cutlery. When we left at 9.30 not one of the aforementioned items had been cleared.

Always appears busy so gave it a try, whilst staff were pleasant, when the plates arrived was clear they haven't a clue when it comes to cleanliness, the residue on the plates was shocking, verging on nauseating, as for the latte, that was a joke, full of sugar and nothing like a proper latte, we ordered a toastie and a jacket potato and it took almost 25 minutes to arrive, Visited for late lunch with hubby, really wish we'd gone to Morrisons for a sandwich, definitely wasn't worth the wait, wouldn't return & would not recommend.

Visitamos Hartlepool y yo no esperaba el centro local que tienen la variedad de tiendas que tiene. Me sentí por la mirada en el exterior estaba descuidado de los sesenta pero el contenido era mucho mejor. Va a mostrar mágico, nunca juzgar.

Deliciosa comida con algo para todo el mundo. Una gran selección de tentempiés comidas y postres. Los bollos son todos recién hechos y una buena variedad de rellenos diferentes.

Been going here for years. Its a proper cafe. Not an over priced panini place that does speciality coffees and tiny sandwiches and then charges a bomb......a proper cafe. A proper cuppa and a nice scone (highly recomend the cherry ones) or homecooked lunch at a nice price. Staff are always lovely and welcoming and there is always staff walking around tidying and clearing tables. Toilets are average but clean. A cuppa here is essential after trailing round the town shopping. :-)

Called in for a snack mid afternoon while in town. Just had plate of chips and caramel latte, were really nice. Staff really friendly and helpful. Then had to have slice of cake which seemed homemade and was gorgeous, with another coffee. Got a large this time, was a bit milky and weak but that's probably my own personal taste as I like strong coffee. Haven't been in for years but will definitely be going again soon x

The Galleries is situated on the first floor of Middleton Grange centre and caters for a wide range of tastes, from the Lunch to the brunch and the great full English Breakfast. The food is tasty, Hot and Fresh and served with a smile.

Visited the coffee shop area of the Galleries cafe. The service was friendly and efficient. The coffee and scones were first class. Overall a good experience - will visit again.

I found the staff of this establishment qjuite warm and friendly, they serve the food with grace and good manners and with a smile of their faces.

Was very happy to discover this unpretentious café where the service is friendly and efficient, the food and drinks are good and reasonably priced and the atmosphere is welcoming.

popped into this cafe for a quick lunch time snack. Its one of those town centre cafes that serve great food and coffee or tea without any frills or fuss.I had a corned beef tots with tea and my wife had a ham salad sandwich with coffee. All served quickly and without any drama. The side salads and coleslaw were fresh and tasty. The hot food being served in the larger part of the cafe seemed to be good home cooked fare from what I could see and there were plenty of the older generation in there which is normally a good sign that the prices are fair and the food is good. I would visit this cafe again when in the town centre. P.S. don't go to the BHS cafe, we went there before we found this cafe and were in the queue behind one person for 10 minutes and didn't even get acknowledged by the staff or get an apology for the wait, we eventually walked out.

I love this coffee shop especially when your hungry but its a little early for lunch,their cheese scones are the very best and the coffee goes down a treat too,certainly worth a visit

I've been calling in at The Galleries Coffee Shop for a few years now,and usually for a bacon bun or caramel slice and a latte. Today,I thought I'd try their 6-item breakfast,and wasn't disappointed! Fast service and very tasty meal at a cheap price. The Coffee Shop is next door to The Galleries restaurant. It has a cosy feel to it,and the staff are always happy and friendly.
