The Front Room - Coffee and Lounge in Wycombe

Tasty sandwhiches. Popped in here for brunch on the recommendation of a colleague, the food was really nice, the drinks looked lovely. It gets very busy on a Saturday morning very quickly and it can be hard to find a seat. (There is outdoor seating, too). Due to all the plants in the building, it had a damp smell and heavy moisture in the air. Which was unpleasnt until a door was left open for fresh air to flow through. Otherwise, nice enough.

This cafe has consistently amazed me. The staff are always bright and Cheery and their deals are fantastic! I enjoy studying here at least once a week and the toasties, French toast and shakshouka are my favourites! Their coffees are fantastic and well priced

Immaculate vibe and incredibly kind staff. The food and drink is absolutely delicious. An absolute must if looking for a chill place to have a snack or lock in.

We came in for revision today and was greeted with plates of free food from their social media campaign. The shaskuka was impeccable being rich and creamy with hints of spice. The ginger shot drink was lovely with nice spicy aftertaste. Thank you so much to the team for making such amazing food. Will be coming back tommorow

The food is nothing short of fantastic. Especially for the price. Would highly recommend the French toast along with any of the drinks. My personal favourite is the pea butterfly latte with coconut milk and a shot of vanilla. I often come here to lock in for revision!

The Front Room is a wonderful café where the personal touch of the manager can be felt in every detail from the food to the events to the decor. Full of beautiful plants, books and furniture, the café offers a space for everyone and is an absolute haven from the busy town centre. It's a place to slow down and reset. We hired the Front Room for a private event, and the manager and team went above and beyond to ensure a smooth celebration with no stress on us. We trusted all the details to the manager and unsurprisingly the food was delicious, music and atmosphere excellent and staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Attended a special Valentine’s Day event last night: tasty & varied sharing board for 2, lush cocktails, the talented Laura Marie Benson singing, & efficient & friendly staff. Loved the tasteful ♥️ decorations too.

Celebrated a friend’s 30th birthday at The Front Room and it was spectacular. The food was sensational, so delicious, and everyone was raving about it. The atmosphere is insanely good, and what a cool place, offering so many different things. The staff couldn’t have done more for us, and all in all we had a brilliant time. Can’t wait to come back and try brunch some day soon!

Best cafe in town for sure. I go here often to spend a few hours working on my laptop. Very comfy and homely, food and coffees is good too which helps.

went with my partner and our friend, had a brie and cranberry toastie, a flat white and slice of banana bread. toastie was delicious, great to see a golden festive combo on a regular menu and lovely that it came with crisps. coffee was tasty, as was the banana bread but it was a little overpriced for the size. really top place though, love the tables and plants and friendly staff too

Hosted the Launch Party of my business here. The cozy atmosphere of the place is amazing. I chose The Front Room as I often work from here. The coffee is always top tier and the vibes are great. WiFi is provided and music isn’t too loud. They’ve really got it right here. The service and communication from Lauren in the upcoming days of the event was amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a better team to support the event. The drinks were amazing and the food was spot on. Their in-house DJ Shaz was amazing and really bought the whole night together. Massive thank you to the team that worked the event. You were all so great.

Hi we drove quite a distance to try the place as it was recommended .we ordered ,cappuccino, apple orange carrot juice, avacado toast, shakshuka and a chocolate cherry cake, the avacado roast was great and so was the coffee. I liked the chocolate cherry cake too though husband thought it was little too sweet. Juice was quite bad, it was like flavoured water and too thin. Shakshuka was okay , did not care for it much . The sauce was not tasty and the sourdough bread was overdone. The ambience is quaint , a little too rustic for our liking with the sofas worn down and the plants withering . It’s a very casual place and mostly frequented by university students.

Great looking place, really cosy and welcoming. But my coffee was very poor, very weakly made with a slightly bitter taste. Unfortunate given how nice the place looks!

Awful experience at their Bingo night, won't recommend. We've been coming to this cafe for a while and decided to attend the Bingo night with friends. Food was okay but drinks(alcohol) were unreasonably expensive, not good quality either. I won a £100 on the night, it took over 3 weeks of chasing the owner before I received it. Was told to collect money from the cafe over the weekend, I went but it wasn't there, then she said come in the week, went and it wasn't there. She was then going to do a bank transfer the next day, didn't come through... on and on it went. Such a waste of time and through it all Lauren the owner was awfully rude, and made me feel like she was doing me a favour 🙄 I was told " you can't be annoyed with someone that was giving you a pize" Just like an older review here(where a customer's daughter's drink was spiked at the Halloween event) no empathy for others whatsoever. Would give this experience 0 stars if I could

Radfield Home Care recently held our Christmas party at The Front Room, and it was an absolute success! From the moment we arrived, the festive atmosphere was incredible – everything was beautifully decorated, creating a warm and welcoming environment that instantly set the tone for the evening. The DJ and karaoke were both highly entertaining, and they truly helped everyone unwind, relax, and enjoy the night. However, the true showstopper of the evening was undoubtedly the food. The festive grazing boards were nothing short of spectacular, and we were blown away by the creativity and attention to detail. It’s clear that your team put a lot of thought and effort into the presentation, making the food not only delicious but also visually stunning. A huge credit to your staff for making the event so memorable – from the entertainment to the food, everything was perfect. Absolutely incredible coffee, wide choice of syrups and teas, best pastries in town! Always polite, sweet service. The Brie and Cranberry sourdough is to die for! I don't think I have seen anyone frown in the shop. I've been a coming here for far too long and it's been always an absolute pleasure! ✨ If I could, I would give more stars for sure.

Warm friendly cafe with quirky and cool decor filled with plants . There is a combination of dining tables , comfy sofas and coffee tables and they do a good brew! I went as a solo woman on a Sunday afternoon and worked on my laptop and was welcomed . The cafe turned from a cafe into a bar with a DJ but a mix of working students , friends and single people with books continued into the evening

The Front Room is very friendly and welcoming. They are dog friendly and they serve the most delicious milkshakes, juices, cakes and toasties. Plus they have an amazing selection of house plants on sale plus more often than not some other type of seasonal sale or activity going on. It's just fabulous.

They make a great cappuccino and the banana cake is very good.

This was our first time at this place. We wanted breakfast and this came up. Food was nice. We both had smashed avocado. There was a remembrance service going on at the church opposite so some nice music too. Coffee and orange juice great. The lad who took our order was polite enough. Though when we first arrived I was unsure where to place the order and stood looking at the menu near the till until I could check with someone. The person clearing up wanted to get by and just stood there without saying a word. When I noticed I apologised and moved. Not a word and just abruptly went past. The owner responded below to another post mentioning the importance of people making purchases in small businesses. Service is such an important factor for me in places. It wasn’t bad service, but wasn’t great either. In hospitality it’s good to make your guest feel welcome and that you are happy they came, not make them feel that they are more of an inconvenience. That said it was only that one incident and the rest of the service was ok. And as I say our server was good.

Have loved this place since it opened and have made an effort to go whenever we can to support them despite it being out of the way. They'd gradually increased what they offer so they could keep doing it well. Food is lovely and some great events and community initiatives. However we were disappointed today to find the whole place closed down for a private function, despite signs out as usual, and no option to grab a coffee or bite to eat and sit outside even. There seemed to be a bit of confusion among staff with some people being served and others being refused depending on which member of staff they asked too. A shame for lots of loyal customers who were turned away unexpectedly today so obviously hadn't been very well communicated, and a bit of a risk to shut the whole place, particularly at the weekend, so loyal customers have to go elsewhere. It's such a good sized venue you'd think it should be possible to have events and also continue to serve the regulars. Would sadly be less likely to make the trip in future now in case we find ourselves in the same situation.

The BEST brunch in town. Went here with my daughter for a cheeky brunch and was not disappointed. They have a very popular menu - something for everyone one, from brownies to croissant and shaksuka to toasties which I was told are made fresh every day. Daughter had a shake and brownie - AMAZING. No photo as daughter finished it quick lol. I had the smashed avo with poached eggs which also comes with mushrooms and spinach on sour dough toast - see pic with an oat vanilla latte (taste better then any franchise like Costa, Pret, Nero). All I can say - the chef cooked this simple dish to perfection and tasted amazing. Best I ever had so far in my life…..The shop is defo Value for money, atmosphere is vibrant but not loud, good chill out music in the background, staff are friendly and polite. The cafe also has games and books to entertain kids and adults. And sells plants and small gifts like book cosy, bracelets, jewellery, etc. This is a little gem of cafe in High Wycombe. Next time I need to try the Brie & chilli jam, caramelised onion toastie - looks amazing and everyone having it, must be popular. Keep up the good food guys and see you again real soon 👍🏽

This morning I visited here for the first time. We ordered coffee and breakfast and the food was outstanding. It was all freshly prepared and was a reasonable price and great portion size. Lauren was a brilliant chef/waitress and we will definitely come back to try more of the dishes. 10/10!

From atmosphere to the service, food and definitely the best coffee in town, love every bit of this place, it just have the soul, just what we all need when we go out for relaxation. I love to recommend a good coffee shop, it’s the first thing I look for when I go to a new place. So when I find good one I make sure to post it. And front room is excellent. The staff were so nice. And the coffee was incredible.

Can't fault it. They have good vegan options and are also an eco friendly bunch.

Had a great night at the Front Room doing the life painting event. It was so much fun - cocktails, great tunes from a live DJ (mainly 90s RnB which I love) and the opportunity to get creative! I’m not exactly Picasso but I loved it and will be along to the next one!

I really like the place! I have always been greeted by the friendly staff and a smile. I love the coffee as lattes are just perfect for my taste. I also really enjoy the pastries. Almond croissants and cinnamon swirls are just delicious and always fresh. On tip of it, you can leave with a new green plant or some handmade items, like tablet cases. Great place that I have already visited a few times and I'm sure I will be coming back again soon.

Fantastic cafe! We came here on a sunny Sunday for brunch. Lovely ambiance outside in the sun, staff were friendly and efficient. Food was great (we had the brunch sharing platter - nice coffees, fresh orange juice and a good selection of dishes). We will come again. Thank you.

Stumbled across The Front Room Coffee Lounge while visiting High Wycombe and wow, what an amazing find! So happy to have found this place. My wife and I wanted lunch and chose different dishes. Both meals were very generous and tasted amazing. We’d both be happy to come here instead of a fancy restaurant on a date night and will definitely be visiting again. The cafe owner (Lauren) came over to chat with us and she was lovely. All staff friendly and passionate about what they’re doing here in this incredible community space. Thanks guys, superb!

Not anything special. Staff are not very welcoming. Found a space and were thinking about what we wanted to buy and staff were being patronising insinuating we were only there for Wi-Fi (even though we were going to buy eventually). A staff member was also eavesdropping on our conversations and interrupting which I found very rude. The whole situation made my friend and I feel very uncomfortable, we will not be returning or giving our money to overpriced watery coffee either. Staff should be trained on making customers actually feel at ease and should avoid being passive aggressive to make a point. EDIT: Before the café staff would like to allege that we were there for 25 minutes without ordering, we were only there for 5. I did buy a iced coffee for £3.90, as you have claimed that we carried on sitting there. And the policy was only narrated to us once the staff member sat on her laptop decided she wanted to rudely eavesdrop on our conversation. We never spoke rudely, and if it seemed that way its because this particular staff member's passive aggressiveness drove my friend to tears. In future I suggest you do train your staff members, as I have heard the same from others and having your staff simply sit on their laptops making us feel uncomfortable is not customer service. Thank you.

We really enjoyed the Easter Egg hunt this morning. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They could cater for different requests for kids sandwiches and GF for coeliac which was so appreciated. Great food all round. I hadn't been here before, but I definitely will be back :)

I attended a Clay Earring Workshop here and it did not disappoint! I came here alone but felt welcomed by all and it was a great opportunity to get creative and make some nice earrings. This was the first workshop so there were a couple of hiccups but the host was great and made up for this. I hope to attend another workshop similar to this in the future here! :) I also had a delicious pineapple and ginger fruit juice drink here before the workshop began.

My partner and I often spend time at the front room. The staff are friendly, the drinks are lovely (pineapple crush was a must in the summer) and the food is tasty (what we have tried of the gluten free menu). We haven’t been in since the new menu and we are excited to see what’s new. We have been to a few events such as the family terrarium making, drag night, jazz night, comedy and the market they recently hosted over Christmas. The events can be crowded but the atmosphere is immaculate. This is a place I have gone to study and work, I bring friends and family here to show off the cafe and community that is less than five minuets from me. I love the decor and have developed a plant addiction born from inspiration. I hired the cafe out for my proposal back in June and Lauren went above and beyond to make it special. She decorated it with petals and candles making it a stunning walkway and environment. She got our favourite cake, some other gluten free snacks and a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. We took part in some pot painting to a romantic playlist and on top of all the Lauren took amazing pictures and videos. It was pretty much a proposal and engagement photo shoot all in one. On a dietary note: the front room have always been accommodating and up front with me about gluten free stock and their process. Often opening me an untouched cake as I can’t have the ones from the glass due to cross contamination. I have always felt understood and respected when it came to my dietary needs being coeliac I find it very hard to find places where I can eat with little to no stress. Lauren and her team have always made me feel welcome. It’s a great safe space for people from all walks of life and the staff do not stand for anything less. I always feel safe here and plan to visit as often as I can as long as I live here. Thank you for making it a wonderful experience.

I was passing to go the massage company and saw the freedom flag (LGBTQ) so I entered immediately to have my breakfast. The place is really beautiful with very comfortable sofas , plants , books. I was served by a very handsome young man who gave me the best customer service with smile and also heated my croissant. Highly recommend. Loved this place so much and I will come back again in my few days in High Wycombe. 5 stars 🤩. Thanks 🙏

I visited The Front Room for the first time the other week, and had one of the most wonderful evenings. Greeted by Semper, he ensured we were made comfortable for the evening ahead. Once we got our bearings, we ordered food, which was not only incredible, but also heart-healthy and filling, a rarity some may say. Many thanks to Lauren and company who prepared this dish, and took no offence when I asked for extra salt! Catch22 Jams then put on a stellar performance, with the saxophonist Charlie Markham producing some of the most dulcet sounds known to man. I can't fault The Front Room on any fronts (pardon the pun), and I will most certainly be back for the High Wycombe Jazz Festival later this year. Thanks to all the team who made this a wonderful experience.

I used to love coming here, but the owner/s and their friends take up most of the seating area with their laptops, so you can’t always get a seat. The food is limited, but the coffee’s good.

Warm welcome, great table workspace, plus comfy seating area. Superb coffee, A great addition to the menu is the Shakshuka: Baked eggs in spiced tomato,etc.sauce. Just the right amount of tang!

We had the opportunity to attend a fantastic sushi workshop by run by the brilliant Tomono from the Tomono Sushi Party at The Front Room coffee shop recently. We spent the afternoon there and what truly appealed to me about this quaint café was its cozy ambiance. The interior design caught my eye immediately - well-curated, lending to a unique yet comfortable atmosphere. Perfect for spending an afternoon unwinding with friends. The beverage options were excellent, ranging from refreshing teas to robust coffees and decadently rich hot chocolates. A delightful accompaniment while you indulge in one of their numerous board games. After the sushi workshop, we stuck around for a competitive session of Battleships. The selection of games was varied, making it a great place for some relaxed fun with your friends. I thoroughly enjoyed this playful twist to the traditional café setting. The only minor hiccup was that the café seemed to get slightly noisy during peak hours, making conversations a tad difficult. Nevertheless, this place definitely deserves kudos for their inventive workshops and comfortable space. The Front Room's coffee, inviting ambiance, fun games and, interesting workshops makes it a venue worth exploring, whether for casual hangouts, solitary reading, or learning a new skill. I'll certainly be going back. Disclaimer: It can get a bit noisy during peak times, so if you are seeking absolute tranquillity, plan your visit accordingly! Recommended for: Great Coffee, Cozy Ambiance, Unique Workshops, and Game Nights!

This is by far the best cafe in the area! This is by no means local to me but it’s worth the travel to sit in a beautifully curated space and be amongst like minded people. The workshops are always great and encourage community and openness.

Oh dear...this is the archetypal independent coffee shop that thinks they are cool and hip but has no clue about food, drink or service or what actually makes a nice environment! This is what the cliches are written about, only probably worse! Think overpriced coffee and snacks, way too much hype, lack of staff, under invested in, and a shabby mess of surroundings that basically looks like a mix of furniture that was rescued from the local dump. What this place had: overpriced (but actually very good quality coffee, the cappuccino I had was actually very good). Even more overpriced almond croissant (over £3) but I must admit it again was very good and large, at least they got that right. The single guy behind the counter was actually super friendly and apologetic and a credit to the business. What the place messed up or lacks: any comfortable furniture (if you want me to stay and spend my money, make it comfortable, even the chains get that right, hard wood everywhere that looks a mess and like it's falling apart is not good or welcoming - the website incidentally makes it look like it will be modern, stylish and elegant, it is a dump in reality!) Not enough staff (1 member of staff for the whole place is daft, especially when you get a huge group come in, which looked like a regular meeting there too). On the day I went (5th September), I was looking forward to all the lovely breakfast items on the menu, which previous reviewers had raved about. And guess what, none of the equipment was working (hence my comment on lack of investment) - I was expecting a proper kitchen and all there was is grills etc. by the main counter - which also concerned me...so all that was on offer was pastries...very disappointing. Overall, simple recommendation is don't bother with this place, poorly run, under invested in by an owner who clearly has no clue about food & beverage or hospitality.

I love it here. I work here occasionally for the day to get out of home. I love the coffee, the food and the cakes are amazing. Particularly as I'm dairy free, I still get a lot of choice and am able to take home a gluten free cake for the husband. Oh and the hot chocolate are totally out of this world. The staff are lovely and I've always felt extremely welcome 🤗

Absolutely love the front room! It’s like a home from home 💖 the best thing is the daily grind where you can come and work from your laptop and pay £12.50 for unlimited drinks and a toastie for lunch! The staff make you feel like one of the family and the coffee is DELICIOUS!

What a great find. A comfortable cafe, with friendly staff and reasonable priced. I ordered a banana milkshake, but they didn't have any bananas. So they went to a shop to get some so they could make me a banana milkshake and then gave me a very delicious chocolate chip cookie as an apology for keeping me waiting! What great service! Will definitely be back. X

Lovely staff great food chilled atmosphere just what Wycombe needs

Tried contacting the management after my daughter was spiked by a bar tender at their Halloween function. No response received! Only after posting this review did Lauren contact me. She didn’t even ask about the welfare of my daughter even after I told her that she was under the care of emergency services due to the spiking. Her only concern was that I had given her a one star review!

Oh dear, just asked for latte and cappuccino, and told 25 to 30 min wait!! No reason, not very busy. Not happy, normally great service
