Delicious fish and chips. Beautiful white flakes of tender cod cooked to perfection in crisp tasty batter. True chip shop chips and plenty of them. The owner is always friendly and the staff are polite and efficient . The best fish and chips in Northumberland award very well deserved .

Recent holiday visit and popped in and offered to sample for free the battered chips which were lovely. Cod and Haddock were nice, huge portions, though I have had better batter, not sure what oil the food is fried in, but it does have a distinct taste. The fish fritter was okay, though not what I expected to be. It is fish is served between two slices of potato, all is battered and then fried like a large fritters. The fish in the fritter tasted nice, though, unfortunately, the potatoe fritters were slightly undercooked and hard. Mushy peas were good. The best part of was the staff member who was friendly, generous, and chatty!

We only called in for fish and chips, but we were treated like old friends. The chips were great and the batter on the cod was perfect, this place is well recommended

The staff are the best aspect of this takeaway. Friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the fish and chips did not measure up. The chips were barely warm. The fish batter was awful - bendy and flat. Not great fish and chips at all. We made a special trip to try them, considering they had recently been promoted via the local newspaper, but were disappointed.

As always the food was amazing and the portions very generous. A lovely warm welcome and Sarah went above and beyond when one of our party decided after our meals were brought out that she would like some bread and butter with her meal. Sarah sorted it out without any fuss.

We stopped by chance at The Percy Arms for a drink and ended up eating an amazing meal-Wednesday afternoon and very quiet but the food was delicious and the service excellent. The soup was very tasty and the steak cooked to perfection - we will return!

I’m so sad to see this lovely place closed. It had great staff and atmosphere and a fantastically good smoked haddock chowder. I wish its people all the best and I thank them for all the great visits we’ve had here. I really hope that there might be a replacement cafe of such quality. We’ll watch with interest.

Our introduction to this country pub was to a spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean bedroom, with stunning views of the fells. Next dinner and cooking of Michelin quality. A highlight was the scallop with belly pork, a brilliant dish. Next morning breakfast, again flawless in every respect from the service to the produce. Any prospective dining pub owner/chef should come here to see how it's done.

My partner & I came here on Sunday for a spot of lunch we both had Fish & Chips ( I had salad with mine instead of chips) I have to say the fish was amazing I would say 100 times better than you would get at a fish shop. The batter was so light & crispy and the fish tasted so good. The staff made us feel so welcome happy smiling faces and we did not have to wait long before our food came I would whole heartily recommend plants plus for lunch
