The Frogmill Inn in Cotswold

The frogmill is a lovely scenic pub, great atmosphere. The staff are a testament to pub and I highly recommend it to anyone.

We had our annual team meeting and dinner at The Frogmill, and it couldn’t have gone better! The venue is absolutely stunning—such a great mix of charm and professionalism, which made it ideal for our social business gathering. A huge thank you to Fred, Kelwyn, Ollie, and Sarah for looking after us so well. They were incredibly friendly and delivered outstanding service, making the whole day and evening run smoothly and feel totally effortless. The food was amazing, the atmosphere spot on, and everyone left feeling genuinely impressed and well taken care of. Would highly recommend The Frogmill for team events, corporate functions, or any special occasion! We all had such a fabulous time, thank you.

The menu is amazing and the vegan pie is probably the best vegan food we have found anywhere and we have been vegans for about six years. Even the gravy was to die for. Thea served us and was amazing, she was efficient and kind and very personable. A credit to the Frogmill and the chain. We hadn't been to the Frogmill for many years so it was good to venture inside and see how it's been refreshed, extended and opened up so that diners enjoy maximum comfort and light. The ambience was good and the service was excellent. Drinks orders taken and food ordered with no delay. I enjoyed my battered haddock and chips. Perfect lunch and good to see that the grounds around the hotel are well maintained too - including the mill wheel!

This was the third year we have had a family Christmas Eve dinner at the Frogmill. Despite the fact that it was fully booked our 10 meals arrived promptly, all at the same time and piping hot. Everyone commented on how delicious their meal was. Our waitress was attentive and friendly despite being extremely busy. As locals, we feel very fortunate to have this venue on our doorstep. This would have to be the best place we have stayed in whilst in the UK. It has character, charm, history, amazing food, lovely accomodation, beautiful staff and great cocktails! We typically chose 5 star hotels, we stumbled across the Frogmill on our road trip and it did not disappoint. Came for a roast with my brother and sister, we had pork and chicken. Food was so yummy and the greedy dogs enjoyed the leftovers too! Thanks to Ed for his patience with our indecisiveness but the menu is just tooooooo good and he was very helpful at helping us choose. We send our thanks to the chefs…of course 🤩😋💫

Visited Frog Mill on Thu 17th Oct for dinner. Having a new baby we arrived a little early to ensure we were able to get a table with enough room for the buggy. We settled down for a lovely evening, the food was brilliant, really nice atmosphere, but what made the experience was the amazing waitress, Milly, not only was she super friendly and made us feel really welcome, she also took to our baby and made us feel relaxed. If everyone had customer service skills like Milly, the world would be a better place!

We went for afternoon tea as we were passing through and had the most wonderful experience. The place itself is beautiful and the staff were wonderful. I’ll definitely be visiting again and recommending to my friends. The young brunette female manager(?) was super kind and helpful and definitely made the visit worthwhile

Great selection of dishes which were all delicious. The service was quick and welcoming. Georgie and Millie were exceptional.

As locals we are regulars at the Frogmill and whilst we accept that there are limited areas to have just a drink at, we usually find a seat be it at the bar, sofa area or at a table before the reserved dinner reservation. Perhaps upstairs could be made more available when it is free from private events to help cater for those not eating. We've eaten here many times in recent months and together with friends and family have had really positive dining experiences on each occasion. We find the staff to be friendly, very helpful and eager to please, Sarah in particular stands out with her infectious personality !! The menu caters for all and the recent offering of the vegan mushroom pie and root veg mash was a big hit with vegetarians and meat eaters alike. We're looking forward to trying the new menu very soon.

I've been regularly going to the Frogmill since it re-opened after its refurbishment a few years ago. I've tolerated its teething problems, enjoyed its hospitality, and recently got to the end of my tether with its snobbery, apathy, and ineptitude. On more than one occasion my friends and I have been ejected from the bar as the table we've been sitting at has become "needed for diners", despite no sign of reservation - and despite an empty restaurant. More recently the staff have been poorly selected and/or trained. We went for a meal a few weeks ago and our young waitress (very young, plaited hair) was singularly disinterested in our wellbeing. Initially, there was another waitress who settled us down and took our orders, who was brilliant. However, things went downhill fast. The same disinterested staff member effectively ejected us from our table this evening with a shrug of the shoulders. She's either very poorly trained, or has no people skills, I don't know but our treatment was terrible. I won't be going back, I've forgiven and forgiven, but the place is now no longer a nice place to visit. This evening it was like a creche. I fear that there are enough rich idiots to keep the place going, so my opinion won't matter at all, but felt compelled to write. This place isn't a pub - I'm not sure what it is any more.

Some positives and some negatives. Starting with the positives... the location was lovely, I was part of a large group and we were located in a separate room where we could easily chat together, the food came out punctually and my sticky date pudding was superb. On the negative side... the person who had booked was charged a deposit for each person attending. When it came to payment at the end, it was a real mess. It had been agreed in writing with the Frogmill that each person attending would pay the organiser back their deposit and the Frogmill would therefore deduct this deposit from each person's bill (because the Frogmill had already received this money from the organiser). However, the waitress wanted to charge everyone the full price of their meal and we had to get the manager involved - it still took about 15 minutes to resolve. This soured a really enjoyable evening. Other negatives were that several of us ordered the fisherman's pie and found it very dry. Also, the Frogmill don't accept any cash payments.

As local Cheltenham residents we are always on the lookout for good local pub destinations. We have been to the Frogmill on various occasions and recently traded up drinks for dinner. Really very impressed. Salt and pepper squid, wagyu burger and miso cod - all genuinely excellent. Top notch pub food in a stylish cosy environment. Food was fresh, hot, delicious and came out quickly. Service efficient and friendly. The garden and interiors both lovely. This is definitely worth a visit

The food was fabulous - we booked a dining table but as the evening was beautful we asked if we could sit outside and we were told, yes. The drawback was that we seem to get forgotten about. After we finished our main, we sat there for 15 minutes (not an exaggeration, timed it) with our empty plates laid out, waiting for someone to take them away and offer us desserts. Plenty of waiters and waitresses around but they all seemed to just bypass us. Eventually I had to say something to someone. We sat on a table near a plant pot and there were many occasions where waiters and waitresses tripped up on the pot, or bumped into our chairs trying to squeeze round. I moved the chairs but still didn't help. I felt sorry for the waiting staff, but afetr a while it was also quite irritating for us as well! All that said the food and the environment here is really gorgeous and we had a lovely relaxed meal out. We'd happily go back again.

Had a terrible experience from start to finish! The mussels were overcooked and watery and tasted of nothing but grit! I had the venison for mains which took 45 minutes to come out I asked why the wait was so long and was told that in other words the chefs were Indian and didn’t have a clue what they was doing. This shocked me a bit I didn’t really know what to say! My server was grace who was excellent up untill she made that comment. Was very disappointed and will not be returning.

Took my daughter for a birthday treat having had a lovely lunch here back in the summer. Did not disappoint. We arrived early but our table was free so we were shown through. All the staff were friendly and helpful, attentive but not hovering. The food was delicious. It was so filling we had to take the cake home with us. Reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

We booked the restaurant for lunch.We were stating at Holme Lacey and this was a great place to stop. The menu was extensive. The lunch was amazing.I had the scotch egg and burger,my husband had the cauliflower wings and the Venison. The food was absolutely fantastic. We were served by Bea,who was so friendly and attentive. Recently visited the Frogmill for a fantastic Sunday roast courtesy of a recommendation from a friend. The cozy atmosphere, paired with a perfectly cooked roast, made for a delightful dining experience. I highly recommend the roast beef! Special thanks to Elliott, our waiter. His recommendations and warm demeanor added a personal touch that made the experience even more enjoyable! The frogmill is a gem for anyone looking for a delicious roast in a warm and cosy setting. I will definitely be back again!

While staying at The Frogmill, we visited the restaurant for dinner twice. The food was outstanding and the service, provided by Bea was exceptional. The atmosphere is lovely. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

A truly Cotswold experience, a beautiful old mill set in a lovely garden with a picturesque stream running through it. Good variety of dishes on the menu, and the food is presented well. The bar stocks a wide range of beers, spirits and other drinks. The bar area is cosy and the staff are welcoming, I have to mention Elliott who served us and is very friendly. We will definitely be visiting again.

Went for Sunday lunch the service was spot on the Sunday roast was a good one the plates hot as I had asked for my thing the beef was tender as where the meats on the 3 meat roast all in all a lovely lunch my only downside the vegetable I would say no more than a tablespoon full of carrots peas and tiny bit of shredded cabbage I think they should give a little more vegetables and more seasonal variety

I booked The Frogmill for my husband's 50th birthday party. From the initial booking to the dinner itself, I cannot fault The Frogmill. I wanted to book the alcove but it was booked. Fortunately for me it became available and was called to be offered it. The link sent out to the guests to preorder was excellent, and the night itself went very smoothly..the food the drinks and staff were all great. Would definitely recommend it for a large group.

Ate in the restaurant. Staff were not ready when we arrived and we waited 15 minutes for any attention. Asked for some bread for the table of 6, and got 4 pieces of toasted break without any butter. Staff were inattentive and undertrained, and had a merry conversation about a family member rather than serve us. Waitress was pleasant enough but everything was very functional and not what the prices demanded. Worst of all was the confit duck which was excessively salty to the point of being inedible. My honest assessment - they think they are better than they really are - I would suggest looking elsewhere. Finally, as we left, two busloads of people arrived - we got out just in time.

My partner and i dine yesterday at the Frogmill, was bit wait to be seated. The food was delicious we had the Squid, Cauli wings to start and we enjoyed the confit duck and the risotto, Lemon meringue pie was outstanding. kat was our waiter she was amazing. We will be back soon.

We had two evening meals at Frogmill. The food was delicious - meats cooked to perfection, tasty sides and lovely presentation. Staff were friendly too. Would definitely recommend and revisit.

Quite seriously the best lunch out we’ve ever had. We came here for Sunday lunch which was also our first meal out together as a married couple! The service was super quick and friendly, she didn’t give us her name but our waitress had brown hair and said she lived local- whoever you are you were SO LOVELY! She even sorted us with a chocolate ‘congratulations’ plate with mango sorbet. The roast was crazy good- we both had the serloin which was cooked so well and there was plenty of it, veg was amazing, kept getting little bursts of garlic I think from the crispy roasties which was incredible. We also had the cauliflower which wasn’t really saucy like most it was so balanced and didn’t weigh down the rest of the veg. We aren’t usually dessert people but we finished with the apple tart which was more like a flan/sponge base but don’t change it please it surpassed any apple tart I’ve had before and the crème anglaise- the goddamn crème anglaise. I could’ve drank it with a straw. Only bad side from this place is that we are from Northumberland and all our local roast spots are now ruined. Thankyou for a lovely meal! Josie and Archie

All 6 of us ordered 3 Cote De Boeuf, despite this being a demanding order with a very busy evening ahead of them, the chefs and front of house staff were superb. One of the worst meals we have had for a few years. My wife had tempura battered crab. The disgusting batter was thick, soggy and doughy, sent it back. My tuna was very fatty and a low quality piece, difficult to cut and it was raw, sent it back and it returned totally overcooked and like rubber Rest of the party had finished eating by the time I started my tuna Waited 1 hr between starter and main, took 20 mins to pay the bill Lovely surroundings, spoilt by a very poor experience
