Travelled from Chichester to meet friends. We never made lunch because my husband couldn’t access pub in his wheelchair. Land Rover parked by ramp. The pub manager wasn’t helpful or sympathetic. Ended up going to Black Horse at Findon . Welcoming staff and great disabled facilities.

I am appalled by our experience today - six of us booked for lunch. My friend is a wheelchair user and had phoned twice to ensure that parking, access and tables would be suitable for his needs. On arrival the car park was full and the access for people with disability not apparent . I went in ahead of the rest of the party to ask advise, and the rear door for the ramp was casually pointed out. I asked about parking for people with disability but was told that there were no designated spaces. I then went to find the ramp leading to the rear door, but appalling access to it was completely blocked by parked cars, rendering it totally inaccessible. When I returned to ask for help, explaining that the ramp access was completely blocked, I was told by one of the workers that it was not within her jurisdiction to keep the ramp clear. I was treated without concern, or help, and we left. When my friend initially booked our table he made his needs clear but clearly no attention was given to this, or to the needs of any other person requiring access via the ramp.

Super mid-week lunch. Nice welcome from very friendly staff. Excellent food at reasonable prices. I had half-size portion of cod and chips; my hubby had roast belly pork. Then we shared one of the cheesecakes. Will certainly come again if we are in the area.

Visited for Sunday lunch. One of the meals was fine, but the other the vegetables were overcooked and the roast potatoes were hard . When we complained about the potatoes and asked for a replacement there was no apology and we were told that they would be the same. My partner ordered chips instead and they served a very small dish most of which were very overcooked. Surprisingly when the next tables roasts arrived the roast potatoes looked absolutely fine. Not the best for a relaxing Sunday lunch.

Visited today with our grandchildren for lunch after doing some pottery painting nearby in a garden centre who had a restaurant menu but overpriced!! Found this pub easily although it was busy on a hot day we found a table in the bar area. Ordered our food and told 30min wait which went quickly.. Food arrived we ordered from the main menu and half portion size, all large portions well presented! certainly didn’t disappoint us def will visit again soon. lots to choose from on the menu for us and kids!,

The Frankland Arms is becoming a family favourite of ours! The food is always hot, tasty and there's plenty of it. Each time I go I vow to have something different, but I ALWAYS plump for the lasagne and salad. It's one of the best lasagne's I've ever tasted and each time I go I want to try something else but I just cant! Definitely recommend.

First impressions so count . We where not greeted , more grumbled at , no hello , did we have a reservation We did , but at this point however we merely wanted a drink awaiting our family After a lot of confusion from no booking , what name , did we know the phone number of booker ?! Oh I’ve found it , we asked can we not order just a drink then ? As we where not local we thought it odd , Response yes but in the bar ? How were we to know the steps at the front leading to the bar wasn’t the bar !! So not a great start The same lady took our order , once again polite friendly manner had taken a day off After over an hour wait the food came which was delicious , truly was . But sadly drowned in gravy . The lamb melted in your mouth , way too large portions and for our table of 6 every plate bar one went back with a lot of left overs simply as too much , delicious I emphasise same with the puds Everyone in the catering world is pushed , the two very young girls where stretched but polite Apologetic when the drink order took forever . If we went back which I would for the food , I’d certainly request the gravy separate and much smaller portions , even for the same price don’t get me wrong , but the food wastage is a shame

We live locally but have not been to the Frankland Arms for some time and decided to go today. Disappointing to say the very least. We endeavoured to make a booking, several times this morning, only to find nobody would answer the telephone. We took a chance by going for a lunch only to be told on arrival, somewhat bluntly and certainly in an unfriendly manner, that we could only go into the bar area, whilst it was obvious that there were tables available in the main restaurant area which were not marked "reserved". We were not keen on the bar area with all the usual noise etc from the children already there and opted to go home. The main impression of this visit was that the staff could do with some lessons in "people skills" and be more welcoming to their customers. To say that they were too busy to answer my telephone calls (before incidentally the pub was open this morning) seemed pretty lame, and lacked any sign of apology, especially as, at that time, we were being spoken to, somewhat bluntly, by someone behind the bar, in between her taking phone calls on her mobile. All very disappointing - shall not be going there again.

Came for lunch with friends, 4 of us in total. We hadn't booked but made so welcome and found us a table out of the way as our friend had broken her toe. We all had starters, breaded Prawns and breaded brie, both were so good. Mains were fish and chips for the guys which they loved. Us ladies had their half portions. Amazing to be able to go.out and have a half portion. They were not small but were delicious. 3 of the group had puddings and they looked and tasted so good, well i was told they were.Complements to the chef. Staff were very attentive, great service. Called in for a drink with some friends after work on a Saturday afternoon, as it’s one of our favourite pubs in the area. Almost as soon as the last person had finished their drink; a gentleman from behind the bar promptly came over and suggested that if we wanted to stay any longer, we should buy another round of drinks. None of us will be going back which is a shame as the food has always been excellent in there, shame about the attitude of the staff

This is the third time my booking has been changed. I book a quiet table, so my dog is no bother to others - each time I have booked, this is explained to them. Each time, I arrive to find they have reallocated me, and resited me in the middle of their busiest area. No phonecall to explain, and on arrival each time, it is apparent they have got busy, so moved tables to optimise their profit. Be prepared, if there are only two in your party, to be shuffled and receive poor service.

Booked table a for 4 for a Christmas meal, was surprised I wasn't asked for any more info, only a phone no. wrongly assumed as they were so busy with bookings, it was only a Christmas menu & we would choose on the day, sent friends copies of the Christmas lunch! We arrived (despite phoning earlier in the day to confirm reservation (as I had changed the date & wasn't very confident with the man I'd booked with) to be told we were not booked for Christmas Dinner & there were none available, despite other empty tables! Dissappointed but settled for food off the standard menu, though cranberry (with Brie) was substituted for apple because they'd run out, Service could have been better, guess you get what you pay for!

We were fortunate to be treated to lunch by our caring neighbours. Having never been, we were pleasantly surprised by the quaintness of the place. Our table was ready and despite being busy, we were asked quickly what our drink order was. I felt the meal were very reasonable and the ladies chose liver and onions, my hubby chose suet steak pudding and the other choice was a Franklin brunch. It wasn’t quick, but we were told this, when the food arrived the veg was fresh and cooked perfectly. Shared desserts and they were delicious too. Will definitely return but must remember to book as I can understand why it is so busy….⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We’ve had some great meals recently here but our most recent experience has put us off coming back. Only ordered one course on a weekday lunch at midday for three people but had to wait 90 minutes for our order to arrive. By this time we were starving! When it did arrive there were items missing. No apology for wait. When we paid and were asked how everything was we have honest feedback but were only told it was due to a new chef which doesn’t bode well. Unfortunately we had to rush the meal as we never expected to have to wait that long and didn’t have time for desserts. Very disappointing after many great quick meals here and sad to say we probably won’t return

I had Sunday lunch here with family. It's a nice pub with a good atmosphere. We had the roast, which was OK but nothing special. The lamb was quite dry & not much of it. However, the price of the roast was the same no matter which meat you have, which means it was good value. I'd go back but try a different dish.

We both decided to have a jacket potato with prawns, when it arrived (the young waitress was polite) it was a medium size potato on a huge plate, no small salad garnish just the potato swimming around on the plate! For £7.99 I expect much better presentation, it tasted okish! Nothing special, This used to be a gorgeous country pub, it’s now an eyesore, what have they done to the garden? Unfortunately we had a very rude and abrupt waitress, my sisters and I always take our dad out for father's day. Unfortunately 2 of them came down with a sickness bug, as did the 2 babies, one of which was in hospital all day. We were told we should have given more notice, so more tables could be sold, yet there were many empty tables around us. The specials board was slammed down on our table and the menus were dropped down. The table next to us were shown the specials and treated in a very different manner to what we were. The lady (Georgia) was rude to us throughout, there was no customer service whatsoever. When we'd finished our food, after some time she came back and said do you want anything else, we hadn't seen the dessert menu or anything. Once we'd been seated and she'd complained about our reduced numbers, we waited ages for our drinks orders to even be taken. My sister had called previously to make the staff aware that there were less of us attending and she was also very rude and abrupt on the phone. The young people that delivered our food and cleared the table were fantastic. They were polite and friendly, Georgia could certainly learn something from them! The food was fantastic, it's just a shame that what should have been a lovely day was ruined by such a rude waitress. I feel that she could definitely benefit from some training in customer service.

Visited when the sun was shining, sat outside with six dogs. Made very welcome, with a good selection of food. The Harveys was a good pint! We were on holiday for a week and the best meal we enjoyed.

Visited on super cold, blowy bank holiday so staff had to deal with that as well as restrictions imposed on hospitality. However service was good and very welcoming. Food was ample, very tasty and great value.

We booked a number of tables for lunch in the open marquee at the Frankland Arms, for a wake on Saturday. When we arrived it was really busy, but we were treated with kindness and consideration, our drinks orders were taken promptly, and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Although there was a wait for food, which we were warned about, when it came we were really impressed by the quality and portion sizes. I had the best fish & chips I've had in a long time. The landlord and landlady came to check on us several times, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. I would thoroughly recommend the Frankland Arms.

A nice sweet pub that was warm and cosy on a rainy day. Staff were really nice although we ordered 2 vegetarian meals and both of them had fish on them :( (tuna sandwiches, prawns, and a couple other rather suspicious looking “vegetarian” items). We sent them back as we can not eat fish and asked only for the cheese and tomato sandwiches as they were the only things on the (absolutely huge) plate which seemed truly veggie. The lady seemed a bit confused but took them back to the kitchen and came back with sandwiches like we’d asked (she was very nice about it might I add). Fish is absolutely not vegetarian friendly. We would have both liked to sit and enjoy our meal with everyone else but unfortunately this wasn’t the case. I don’t want this review to come off as complainy- the rest of the experience was lovely but vegetarians need to be aware when they visit!! And kitchen staff should be made aware too! I want this to be a learning opportunity and I don’t want to come across as rude :) Pescatarian = no meat but fish is okayVegetarian = no meat or fish Vegan = no animal products

The food served is good but without an option of a smaller portion most of us end up only having one course. When people are being encouraged to be resourceful/reuse it is such a waste! One of the staff told us not to worry as the waste is given to pigs but they only needed our waste from 6 plates for their daily allowance unless there are a lot of them. There is a limited choice for gluten free now. We would of liked to of sat outside under the gazebo but the lights do not allow one to see once the dusk arrives.

Mat and Yan opened their doors once again for the 2nd annual charity event. An event was held here on 5th September for a fantastic local children’s charity. This was managed, controlled and ran without any problems. Our friends on bikes turned up at our request. Traffic management was in place at all times.A lot of money was raised by all the generous visitors. Some came a long way to help raise money. Thank you to everyone that came. We appreciate your time and donations. Music was amazing. Hog roast smelt divine. Atmosphere was just awesome.

Saw an advert on Facebook for Sunday Dinner with "Kids Eat Free" so decided to take advantage, and take the family. My wife, 3 children and grandparents had a fantastic Sunday Roast and look forward to returning in the future. At £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 courses, the meal we enjoyed today offered exceptional value for money. Between us, we enjoyed 2 starters (both had smoked salmon), 7 main courses (4 x Roast Beef, 1 x Roast Chicken and 2 x Fish & Chips) and then x6 desserts (a selection of ice cream sundae's, chocolate brownies and cheese and biscuits). Given the quality of the food, and the service too, I would be very pleased to return on a Sunday when the kids meals are to be paid for...... it was that good. We already can't wait to return.

We have often passed this attractive looking pub but this time decided to stop for a late lunch. We were warmly greeted and shown a nice table by a window. The decor is very stylish, creating a good atmosphere. Our drinks order was taken and delivered promptly, as was our meal order. M had beef and ale pie and I had grilled chicken served with pappardelle and a creamy sauce. I love pasta and this was a delicious dish. M declared the pie to be first rate. We were going to be good and resist pudding but succumbed to a mini dessert with coffee - caramelised profiteroles. A perfect round off to an excellent meal. We will be back.
