The Fox Chaddesley Corbett in Wyre Forest

Came here on the evening 8th April recommendation of some family. Walked in and it was clean and tidy and was some lovely music playing. Waited a short while and was greeted by one of the chefs who quickly seated me and explained the menu and the deals as we hadn't been before. We had our drinks order taken by the waitress who was very abrupt and short with us. But we got our drinks quickly. The food came out and it was fantastic, the pork belly bites were lovely and the carvery was probably the best carvery I have ever had, piping hot food on piping hot plates. The meat was to die for and the veg was fresh and well cooked. The roasties we sublime. It took a while for our plates to be cleared. The waitress didn't ask how our food was just sharply said "you done?" before taking them away. I don't know if she was stressed or was having a bad day. But she came across as very blunt, verging on rude. She took our dessert order and again it didn't take long for the desserts to arrive. We both had the waffle and it was lovely. All in all the food is fantastic and the atmosphere in there is great. Just really felt a bit let down by the service. The waitress came across very blunt and felt like we were an inconvenience to her. We would probably come back as the food was lovely but would be hesitant based on the service. Hopefully it was a one off.

Lovely place. Only bad point they only serve three meats and before 7pm when we were served they had run out of beef. Other than that the food was lovely, the place well decorated and clean, toilets ok. We did have to wait to be seated as noone was there initially.

What a great carvery never been before. We loved the carvery.wuth free pud. The staff were so helpful. We all coming back. Sooner rather than later

Not been in a good while bu[ absolutely amazing service , drinks and the food was just top class!!! Prices so cheap, being in great surroundings with like minded people, enjoying quality food and company with atmosphere, 20 min journey for us an we'll travel it everytime from now on it was that good, thank you all at the Fox

Third time I've been with in laws and every time the bill has been wrong. We do get it sorted but always have to query it. Either food charged wrong of drinks added on. Occasionally mistakes can be made, but please on every visit. Doesn't bode well I afraid.

Went for Sunday lunch today with family for my birthday. We had pre-booked a table for 1pm nearly 2wks ago and I had confirmation as proof. We got there and no table was available. They eventually seated us at 1.35pm! Service was VERY slow and quality of food very poor. The price is higher on a Sunday and we didn't mind that if we were getting quality but it wasn't. Gravy was like water and certain pots were empty. We did complain but they didn't want to know and just said 'we're busy' but this is why we booked not much point really! Attitude was awful. We asked for the birthday cake back and went home feeling very disappointed. Time to find somewhere new!

Took the family out for a meal. The food & price were exceptional. We all had different meals & they were all lovely. Would definitely recommend & will be returning soon

Went for the special offer - 3 courses for £9.95 - good value except the beef was tough and stringy but good selection of veg. However the price of £9.95 has been heavily subsidised by the high price of the drinks. Spoilt the whole evening when presented with the table bill which had been planned as a post Christmas family event. Won,t be going again.

I booked the BOGOF Monday lunchtime carvery at The Fox for 2 people. As was advertised in the local paper. The Sunday price for a carvery was £14.95 so I assumed that the BOGOF Monday price would be £14.95 for 2 carveries. This wasn't so. I was asked to pay £29.90 for the 2 carveries. I asked the server to check the price, she came back with the same price £29.90. So I left. They do not do BOGOF OFFERS.

The 1 star is given from the perspective of a disabled wheelchair user. This location is not suitable for wheelchair users. Entrance is too tight and tables are ridiculously spaced with limited room in between. The disabled toilet is a joke! Basically a store room full of junk. Had to move heavy hand dryers just to get in. Outside of the toilet entrance tables are positioned so you cannot get in without asking other diners to move out of the way. It completely ruined the lunch with an 88 year old lady in tears believing she was a nuisance causing inconvenience to everyone else. You should publish on your website that this place is NOT SUITABLE for disabled people. As for the food it was excellent and would be a 5 star if you didn’t have to occupy a wheelchair ♿️ Another wheelchair bound guest actually warned us the toilet was dangerous before we had the misfortune to need to use it.

We have visited The Fox on many occasions and have always had the most amazing service and food. The added value of a very tasty, three course menu and fantastic carvery is a bonus! Today, we arranged a surprise meal for my Mother-in- laws 80th birthday here. Nothing was too much trouble, Debbie and her team ensured that the 9 of us were looked after from start to finish, and as always, the food was tasty, hot, and presented beautifully. This is a lovely pub with great ambience and atmosphere. Thanks for making the occasion so special for us all. See you again soon. 😀

Our second visit. They have a small dog-friendly section, we had our dog with us. We were celebrating a family birthday. The reasonably priced roast dinner buffet is excellent, favourites at our table were the gammon and venison. There is a host of delicious vegetable side dishes. The price included a dessert which the menu tells us was taken at the table. There is an option to purchase a kids roast dinner which we recommend for children, we had two teens. However, we waited a considerable amount of time, well over a half hour for this. When we found someone to enquire the young lady (we had enquired twice) assured us that it would be sorted. All the desserts were good, my only comment was that the Eton Mess was considerably lacking in meringues a very tiny amount, I asked if there was additional meringue that could be added but the young lady insisted that I already had some. All things considered well worth it, we drive neatly 40 min to enjoy it - local parks and dog walks make it a lovely afternoon out.

Turned up hoping for a cheap and cheerful meal with my boyfriends family. I had the squid to start and it arrived was very hot, it was garnished with some type of sweet barbecue peppers which was odd. Then we all had the carvery, it all had an odd after taste the only good part was the meat. 1 out of 4 drinks were wrung into the till wrong as shown on our bill, it’s unacceptable, not coming back. Staff please sort this out! Also to top this off while we were ordering our drinks after arrival we heard the next table along complain about cold food and the chef did come for a chat. The resolution for this after the chef said he would sort it an other staff member said that they would pay for there tables drinks from her wages to cover the costs! this is not fair, fix it! That chef should have sorted it like he said he would have.

Four of us were sat waiting to order, because we had looked at menus and chosen what we wanted, we tidied menus to one side after three quarters of an hour I asked if we needed to order at the bar, comment was oh I didn't see your menus so I assumed you had ordered, ( despite there were no drinks on the table either) We had to ask three times for our starters as time was ticking on by now, we had been sat there an hour by then. We chose the carvery and by now it's half an hour to closing time so the vegetables had not been topped up and were a tad thin on the bottom of pots, desert came out post haste, and I had to admit we were each given a hot free drink as an apology. Also having moaned about the wait the food was excellent and we would go back again, I think they were short staffed and simply over booked.

Booked for Sunday lunch for myself and my husband. Greeted with nonchalance by a young guy who didn’t even speak. Shown to the table which was then cleaned whilst we were sat there. At the carvery I was offered one slice of meat and asked if that was enough! The same for my husband, when he said no that’s not enough,the server said they were being stingy today with the meat!! The parsnips were raw, as was the dauphinois and the roast potatoes. I wanted to rectify this as I strongly believe if you have a complaint you should let people know. I asked to see a manager or supervisor and was told they would be out in a minute. After 5 minutes of waiting we upped and left, hence this review. A very poor experience and we will not be returning

Lovely Carvery for Sunday Lunch. It was so nice, we returned the following Sunday. The Lamb on the Carvery was beautiful and I loved the different veg options. The service that we received was excellent and we had no complaints. We have moved away, but we will return when we next visit.

Had carvery which was very poor standard. Pork was so overcooked and dry, almost like pork scratchings. Potatoes also rock hard. Not good experience at all .

A gem of a restaurant nestling in the Worcestershire countryside . A superb carvery with a choice of succulent beef , pork , turkey & pigs in blankets in August !! Outstanding selection of fresh vegetables with fluffy yorkshire puddings & full bodied gravy which was absolutely delicious . Home made sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for desert . A wonderful meal for only £10 .

My mum treated 10 of us to Sunday lunch here for her birthday celebration. Unfortunately it was most disappointing. We have been before - in the week on the special price deal - and expected it to be even better on a Sunday when the price shoots up. Not so. The place was not particularly busy but the carvery vegetable dishes had not been replenished. Such was the shortage and wait that we had to have some delivered to our table. This wasn’t great as we’d eaten half our meal by then. We had four vegetarians in our party and the dish they were served was inedible slop. We complained and received a partial refund and the dish was taken off the menu. Desserts were awful. The special was Bakewell tart. It looked like it was bought from a budget retailer and the slices were not much bigger than a Quality Street green triangle chocolate! The other desserts were similarly poor. To add insult to injury we were told there was no custard, pouring cream or vanilla ice cream available. It was mint or strawberry icecream to accompany all desserts. Yuck. I felt so sorry for my mum as this was her birthday celebration. We had recommended this place in the past but not any more.

£12.95 for a 3 course meal on a Saturday evening.. what's not to like?! We had the carvery as our main course, the meat was lovely and a good choice of vegetables plus it was hot! Would recommend and visit again!

This place is just extraordinarily good value. £12 for three courses!? I wasn’t expecting much but the food was really very good. Menu not standard frozen fare- diverse choice, fresh veg, hot, tasty and lots of it. Nicely presented.Friendly helpful attentive staff,No idea how they are making money here-would be expected to pay at least twice this where I come from. Highly recommend the pork, the turkey and cranberry pie looked great and fish and chips got a thumbs up. Wish I lived nearer to go here more often. Enjoy.

I visited yesterday with my family. We all really enjoyed our meal, delicious three course menu. The place was clean, the carvery was lovely and fresh. We will definitely return!

We booked for a 4 person Mothering Sunday meal around 4 weeks ahead. We confirmed our booking the day before via the text message sent to us by the restaurant. We arrived at the appointed time and there was a little confusion as we said we'd booked. We sat at the table and within a couple of minutes the waitress asked for our drink and food order. The drinks came and I sent my very very cloudy 'Proper Job' ale back. No problem it was replaced without further issue. We had a really nicely cooked carvery meal. Then BEFORE dessert was even served it went wrong. Just 43 MINUTES after we sat down we were served with.... the bill !!! Who serves the bill before the meal has concluded!! It felt like we were being told to leave now we'd had our food. I asked the 'manager' at least he appeared to be the person in charge. He went away to check the booking. When he came back he said the table was booked for another group just 1 hour after we sat down. He advised "I could ALLOW you to stay a further 30 minutes if we'd like and I'll find somewhere for the other group." The waitress asked that I pay the bill at the bar. I told the lady I would not pay the whole bill & she went to see the 'manager' to confirm this was OK. The food was good. the waitresses were diligent. However, to be effectively told only 43minutes in to a meal 'YOUR TIME IS UP' is nothing short of disgusting. THIS PLACE IS NOT PUBLICISED AS A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT !! It is clear the kitchen team know how to prepare and serve really lovely food. However, the idiot they have taking the bookings needs to be sacked. The whole place was clearly overbooked and they seemed perfectly happy for the customer take the "hit" while they took the profit. I wonder how many others had a similar visit. What a way to run a business !!!! To the 'manager' : Please, please, please do provide a response and try to justify yourself. I'd love to hear your excuses.

Just had a carvery for Mothers day and I can nor fault it at all. Beef and Turkey were cooked just right, roast parsnips and garlic potatoes were so moreish. Was busy but didn't have to wait long. Thank you

Monday, Buy one get one Free for March. Just the Carvery seems a generous deal at just £9.95. Beware though the cost of the Carvery goes up to £14.95. Where does the BOGOF apply?

Went here on a Sunday evening looking forward to the advertised meats including lamb and pork. Ordered the carvery and not told items on the menu were not available only to find out lamb and pork had gone when at the counter. The not so friendly woman carver’s advice was to get there at 12 if you wanted lamb. Been here before mid-week and the food is good value. Definitely wouldn’t go on a Sunday as advertised food not available and there are better Sunday carvery’s nearby which are cheaper.

Great food and service. My wife had tender loin pork & black pudding Bon Bon, fondant potato, apple cider sauce. She said her meal was delicious. I had the carvery, plenty of meat and fresh vegetables. I would not hesitate to recommend The Fox, to family and friends.

Lunch time carvery served up standard carvery fare done well. Busy, but efficient staff, were very pleasant and accommodating. Can't imagine they make much profit on this 3 courses for £12 offer which served up an excellent Tomato and Chilli soup with nice bread, Full on carvery with no skimping on the meat and an excellent panna cotta. We would go back at normal prices let alone this kind of offer.

We had heard rumblings that the food was delicious so decided to try it out again after visiting about 5 years ago and vowing to never return again. Turns out it has new owners since late last year. The food was all fresh, not a frozen roast potato in sight. Great choice of meat (beef, lamb, gammon and turkey). Veg included Peas, Carrots, Cauliflower Cheese, Fresh honey glazed parsnips, fresh savoy cabbage as well as proper Gravy. As certain items were running out they topped them up promptly. Tyler did an amazing job at keeping it all running smoothly. Easily one of the best carveries in the area. The waiting staff were great too. Always keeping an eye and promptly serving us if needed. Will definitely be back. Especially midweek where its 3 courses for about £12 and kids are 3 courses for £10.

Four of us visited for lunch 23rd Feb '24, Don’t be put off by the roadworks on the A448, we had no hold up or diversion from Bromsgrove. Excellent value, excellent food and service.£12.50 for three courses,including the carvery option, such good value.

£12 for a beautiful 3 course meal!!! Amazing food, with the best carvery & all for only £12! We enjoyed our Saturday Lunch here & will definitely be back!

4 of us went for a carvery last week, first time any of us had been there for a meal, we all agreed lovely meal all seemed very fresh, worth the money so we shall be going back.

I’ve always avoided the Fox. One of the moms from St John’s works there. She has always warned everyone against visiting with vomit inducing hygiene stories of behind the scenes like how minging the freezer is and how dirty the tables are. Warning that the service is so bad because it’s badly run and she is left to sort it all out on her own. It wasn’t my choice to visit and I was not keen based on principle of what I was told. I have to say that it wasn’t the poor service or shambles painted out to us at all. In fact, it was quite the opposite. The place was clean. The staff (and there was plenty??) who served us were welcoming, attentive and efficient. They were brilliant with our children too!! The chef was hilarious. The staff were a credit to the Fox and the highlight of our visit. I didn't rate my beef particularly but the rest of the food was fantastic. The roasties were fluffy on the inside and beautifully crispy. The Horseradish sauce was especially yummy - seriously I could have drank it! So good! I regret avoiding this place for years. It was a really great value dinner in a great atmosphere. Very efficient staff. Highly recommend this place!!
