The Fox at Crouch End in Haringey

This pub has a great atmosphere and despite its size, it’s surprisingly intimate. Staff are very friendly and efficient and the whole place has a great ethos. We’ll return.

Friends and myself regularly go to The Fox for their Sunday evening quiz (which is excellent!). The atmosphere is wonderful. Not least due to the friendly and really helpful staff. Ivana, in particular is always a delight!

We came here for a drink last week and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. We came back for Sunday roast and we were not disappointed. A great experience, excellent staff. Very friendly and the Sunday roast was great. Nice afternoon atmosphere.

fantastic sunday lunch and reasonably priced for the area. Service was lovely, food was tasty and fresh with lots of flavour and arrived in good time. Choice on menu was also great.

Booked for 2 pm Saturday so mid-lunch service. Beer was good, no complaints there. Sat near the service hatch. Staff moaning about being on ‘shift’ and when will it all end. As a group of five nothing that we decided to order was available ‘all gone’. Gone where? It wasn’t busy busy. It’s a small odd menu at best anyway. Service slow and for a gastropub (more like the speed of a gastropod), it finally came down to a final cliffhanger between Burger and Chips or Fish and Chips all on the toss of a coin. Schnitzel rarer to find than a Dodo steak. Even the special was extinct despite its chalkboard billing. Hope the dinner guests after 4 pm enjoyed the crisp choice. No return visit planned.

Bar staff very friendly. Ordered drink and food. Fish and chips. Only me in. One chef already in other late apparently. Cooked by late chef. Long hair. No hat or hair net. Food came out quickly on a cold plate. Fish quite warm chips not so. Considering there were no other people eating, pretty poor performance from the chef. Also witnessed a lot of pre packeted pasta being opened and tipped into plastic containers. Will not be rushing back!

Ventured to Crouch End on the last night of a three-week London stay. The Fox didn't exceeded expectations. A local recommended. The steak, fish & chips, croquettes and toffee cake dessert were all excellent. Service was friendly and top notch. Five stars! Thank you for a wonderful end to a terrific trip.

Booked a table for Christmas Eve lunch with my OH and daughter. I had had so-so/borderline poor service having gone earlier in the summer, but thought it might have got into its groove by now. We ordered bread for starters, one drink each, and a main each. Drinks took ages to come, no sign of the bread, and then massive wait and bread arrived… with the main. No attentiveness, no check-in on how the food was. My fish and chips was not comprising proper chips, but clearly oven-ready French fries! Total came to a whopping £110! I am not averse to paying well for amazing food and service. The whole meal was also completed in a little over an hour! £110 for one hour of sub-par food and terrible service—and on Christmas Eve. I’ll never go back.
