The new landlady has really turned it round, lovely and clean staff really friendly plenty of family’s there again nice to see kids having fun will be returning when food is on

Being here a few times with friends and family for food and drinks. Food is good value for money, definatly recommend stopping off for food. Always a great atmosphere, good vibes, great staff! Friendly , chatty, and always at hand if any queries. Good selection of gins too! Will be visiting again!

Took a shot at getting a table for a drink. We did try to book in line with the booking routine advertised but nobody responds. So we took a punt to give it a chance. Lots of free tables but soon fills up. Great atmosphere. The service is good, prices good value and every table has a track and trace code and staff ask you to make sure you check in. They are fully masked. They take cards and cash. Full table service and they’ve got an arrangement to get good food delivered in. 2 reasons it didn’t get 5 - toilets state 1 at a time but you go in and 3 people already in and many without masks, nobody challenges the behaviour. We’re all responsible to follow the rules folks. Secondly you’re having a drink, planning on a couple then told the table is reserved but no sign on it. So your 3 drinks becomes 1. They’re wooden tables, it’s easy to staple a note to say what time it’s booked from. Help us out folks.

How long have pubs been closed? Went for an outside meet up with friends (first time out and about for months) wrapped up warm etc etc. I asked for a coffee as I was cold. (I don't drink and my friends were drinking wine). No warm drinks being served! Now, I appreciate the restaurant not open yet but how difficult is supplying warm drinks? Especially as the weather is still cold. Missing a trick surely ? Gaelic coffees, hot chocolate and tea would keep people longer. Or am I being naive?

Never knew this place was there. Tucked away what I would call an old style community pub. Happened to pick one of the busiest nights of the year mad Friday in run up to Xmas. That said the staff were very friendly despite very busy. Decided to order food despite it being busy thinking it might be a bad idea however couldn't have been more wrong. Food arrived promptly again despite the busy pub. The restaurant area at the back was quieter than the bar area. Food was surprisingly good well presented and piping hot. Staff very good ensuring twice everything was ok.

I met up with a few girlfriends for a old school gathering last week. I asked for the house white as the other choice was £3 more per bottle as explained by the young barmaid. I KNOW I bought two bottles of wine that night but on checking my online banking ..I have been charged three times , all different amounts. £11.80 , £10.45 & £8.40? Just be careful if using contactless and especially when they take your card into the other bar to scan!

Arrived at the pub with 3 children for lunch. Ordered just after half one and nearly an hour later the food finally arrived. Well 5 of the 6 meals did. The last one came at least 10 minutes later and was cold (curry) and had to be sent back. Overall the food was small portions and very basic not really worth the wait. Maybe we came on an off day???

In October I wrote a bad review, I have since been back twice on a Monday, any meal £5 and had our second meal any meal £5. Tonight was 5 of us, well done Jake, you have really pulled this back, excellent meals all tonight, thank you! Recommend the mixed grill, the mini mixed grill and the chicken pollo x 2. The steak pudding and pie is to die for, my husbands speciality’s I totally recommend you at the helm cooking with Jess as supporting the bar, well worth a visit, we all recommend it. So sorry as we are loyal people that frequent your pub, booked a table for 6 tonite, really bad food, cold and not edibler, there was some kind of stringing hair in my husbands tea, my son who paid tried to get a refund as he so appalled but it wouldn’t happen, so sorry we are friends but so very disappointed tonight, won’t eat there again and want money refunded

What a fabulous night everyone had. Fantastic atmosphere and the buffet that was provided was great, with plenty of choice. Even though the pub was extremely busy there wasn’t a wait at the bar. The staff are friendly and welcoming

Popped in, for Mums Birthday. Seemed to have good reviews so we thought we'd give it a go. Wish we hadn't. First off, barmaid was too busy serving her friends & chatting to them, never acknowledged us, despite been stood at the bar. Eventually served, asked for menus(plural) given 1. Ordered food, menu is pretty basic. Garlic & herb balls were rock hard & the breaded mushrooms nuclear hot mains came, I asked for my steak medium, arrived medium to well ( judging by the heat of the plate it had been sat under the lights keeping warm) chips..mediocre & a few peas. One of our party is vegetarian & the choice is VERY limited, but the nacho burger was rubbish, bland, no taste and bread soggy. Sizzling platters were ok, but not over large portions. No sour cream for fajitas. No check back from staff, until cleaning plates away, when the vegetarian member mentioned how poor the burger was, all she got was "Sorry about that" & promptly walked away. In addition the regulars were swearing behind us, the music was awful loud & not something you could have a nice evening to. Poor all round from start to finish.

Arranged to meet friends for drinks and a catch-up and food. As we walked in we where greeted by Jake with a big warm friendly smile who made us feel welcome straight away. The drinks are good and the food even better, the steak was cooked to perfection, nothing is too much trouble. The place as a good atmosphere with friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit, we will be returning very soon.

We arranged to meet friends for a drink and a quick catch up, the atmosphere is welcoming the staff really friendly, great service and the beer is good.

Visited with my wife on an evening and ordered chicken strips as a shared starter and the bacon melt burger as main with a side of chips topped with bacon and cheese to share. There was a slight mix up with the chicken starter as the waitress also brought out the side order of chips, so we sent them back. The starter and main were of a good pub food standard, but nothing special and with no garnish, but still not bad for the price.

Visited the Fox and Hounds on a Friday tea time recently and the atmosphere was really nice despite being busy. The bar staff are really friendly and helpful and the food was very nice.

Brilliant friendly service and the food is spot on too! With live entertainment and great drinks offers it makes for a brilliant place to be day or night

Great atmosphere, welcoming and polite staff, variety of food available and is delicious and a different range of drinks available! Variety of different entertainment for you to enjoy including quiz nights, football, rugby, DJs, karaoke, etc. I highly recommend to everyone!

Came here for breakfast with santa on Saturday morning and it was a total disaster we had to nag for drinks, food came out wrong and in the wrong order we ordered in families and some got food and had finished before others got theirs. One of my friends little boys had to go without as they brought the food too late and she had to leave, it was really bad and I've never known anything like it & it want even busy.

We visited here and were so happy with the personal service from the chef for my sister in laws dietary requirements. Jacquetta, I think she was called, came out of the kitchen and asked what we needed for the food intolerances and then cooked a meal well suited to what we needed, off menu. Such a personal service. Well impressed! And what we had too was great. Thank you!

Didn't try the food but added a picture of the menu or those that might want to consider trying it.I did notice on Sunday they have a special Sunday roast on the menu too, so that might worth considering.I like the place as its an old haunt of mine from days gone by, recently renovated it has lost a little of its old pub charm, but i'm sure the regulars were happy for the makeover and the more open feel it now has.Cute little outside patio with a few picnic tables nestled next to the cricket field make this a pleasant place to sit out and enjoy a nice cold pint of lager...

Not been in for quite a while until recently, its been refurbished since we last went, good choice of beers, decent food served. Would we go back, yes.

was on business in batley when i noticed the fox and hounds.Popped in and spoke to Tina who told me the beef rogan josh was the business so i ordered one of those and washed it down with a great pint of bitter.I gather this is part of a chain of three,it must be the best part of the chain.Thanks to all the staff and Tina for being a great host.

Very enjoyable meal, good honest pub grub served in a nicely appointed pub. Great value for money, staff very attentive and will definitely be back.

we got the chance the other weekend to get out for a few hours for dinner just me and wife and decided to call at the fox and hounds for dinner .its been along time since been in this pub,but very much enjoyed our meal I had the house burger and treacle sponge and the wife had sunday roast and chocolate fudge cake ,will be going back in the future .

Popped in on a Monday afternoon to try the lunch menu out, i had the bbq chicken melt and my girlfriend had the pie, both meals was lovely, was a good plate full too, all for £7.95, free pool on a Monday so ended up stopping the afternoon, great atmosphere and lots a friendly faces

Just visited here and despite the tills being down the staff were amazing. They were more than attentive with Faye even asking my 7 year old if everything was okay with his meal, Katie being being the attentive barmaid and Paul being the consummate and hard working professional making sure everyone was happy. I made sure I took their names for my return visit!The valentines menu was good and the food coming out looked fabulous even though I didn't eat on this occasion.It was busy, homely and welcoming. There's not many pubs in this area that offer this level of service when there are technological difficulties; well done!

Visited the pub for Sunday dinner. Excellent service and a great Sunday dinner at a very reasonable price. Will defiantly be returning.

the fox and hounds is an amazing pub! the atmosphere is ace with djs and live music on every week as well as the pub quiz! Rock and roll bingo is defo the best game! The food is class - I recommend the BBQ chicken melt! and the staff are soooo polite and funny! one girl, blonde hair I think she was called Katie, had the best service I've ever received, she was totally on form with my drinks! big thumbs up fox and hounds!!!!!!

Great pub, good atmosphere, polite staff, made to feel welcome, will definitely be back again, the sunday lunch was lovely, 3 course meal for 9.99, can't go wrong, will defiantly be back to try the week day/night menu, cheers guys !!

DEAD RUDE STAFF AND DEAD ATMOSPHERE. WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Very hostile to young PAYING adults WITH ID! Forced to buy a drink to be thrown out moments later! Overpriced also

Stopped for tea after flying back from holiday & ordered the starter to share which consisted of onion rings, loads of garlic bread, chicken wings, breaded mushrooms, potato wedges with salad and dips.......FAB.I ordered the Chicken Tikka Marsalla which came with rice & poppodoms & for an extra £0.95 ordered a naan bread, it was absolutely delicious.My husband ordered the Mega Surf & Surf which consisted of a large lightly battered fish with 8 pieces of Scampi plus chips, peas, tartare sauce & 2 slices of thickly buttered bread....he didn't manage to eat it all but it was totally delicious.If you haven't tried the food here it's delicious & the staff are very warm & friendly

The atmosphere is calm and happy, food is quick and tasty, staff are friendly and helpful - a great local community pub/restaurant that I will go back to! They just need to sandwich board/advertise more on the main road so people know they are there!

After a gentle walk we called for a drink and enjoyed the Mega Surf & Surf. Each couple shared a plateful and we were all full. So be hungry when you go as the portions are very generous. Will be back.

I have been to the fox and hounds before and didn't have a good experience however I heard the management had changed so I decided to give it another chance. I'm glad I did! The atmosphere was great, ended up staying for some food despite only going for one drink! The new manager was on the floor chatting to us and other customers, which is always a good sign! She was lovely. There's a deal for a free drink with your food but as I was driving I was still able to get a free pop. Definitely be back again but next time without my car so I can proper enjoy myself!

We only live around the corner and have never been here before, but after our visit we will be going back a lot more. Really nice staff friendly, good atmosphere. And really clean! Next time we go we are going to try there food out! Can't wait

I visited for a meal last week and really didn't expect much, I thought it would be the usual generic pub food but it was better than that. I had the vegetarian curry and it was really tasty and I would definitely return to eat there again. The bar staff were friendly and helpful, which was nice as we got the impression from the chef that we were putting him out by ordering food.

Good food good beer friendly staff always seems to be something going on in this place & in the summer months it just gets better & better. Also got a good mix of ages I have never seen it just full of rowdy kids, it's a place where I have taken my wife & mother and they enjoyed it too.

Went in on an saturday teatime , great atmosphere in pub, Sky sports on all over pub , good pint ,had meal for four of us all pleased with our food ,and not expensive . Will definitely return
