Fabulous night with the Red lion knitters! Food was amazing as always and the atmosphere was perfect with a bit of live music!

Have gone past this pub on the way to somewhere else, we decided to call in for a drink on the way back. It was buzzing with people, creating a welcoming atmosphere and a friendly feel. The host took it a step further by going out of her way to make us a coffee with oat milk, then delivering it to our table. Great service. Had an interesting read about ghostly events said to have happened at the pub. This place obviously has a tale to tell!

Eaten here a few times recently in the summer Tried the Steak Sunday, very generous portions and you can upgrade the wine, but no real need to. They also have some great midweek offers, really good value. Best to book.

One word: exceptional. We had the best food, absolutely outstanding. Lamb kebabs, homemade flatbread, yoghurt dressing & one of us had a chicken burger which was always delicious. Generous portions but not overwhelming, friendly staff, lovely beer deck. Will be back as soon as we can. HIGHLY recommend.

We were really looking forward to a dinner on the first sunny Sunday. The garden area was not too busy but we were told we could not order for 50 mins !!! This may have been delivered in a polite way but sadly not, the landlord certainly needs to extend his communication skills as I felt like my grumpy dad was telling me off !!!

Big bowl of mussels with thai-spiced broth, crispy twice-cooked chips and a quarter loaf of sourdough to dip. Mussels perfectly cooked and full of flavour from the broth. Even my 7yr old son couldn’t resist stealing a couple. Roaring fire, amazing service and friendly atmosphere completes the experience. If you are in the area, don’t miss out!! Oh and good beer too!

Absolutely incredible food and brilliant service. They were really short staffed and apologised in advance for the wait. The wait was well worth it. Fantastic home cooked food with prices that match the quality and quantity. We will definitely be back and will strongly recommend it.

We are so lucky to live around the corner from this amazing pub. Whether you pop in for a couple of drinks or you have booked in for a meal, you really could never be disappointed. Best atmosphere you could hope for, the place is full of friendly people. Always feel welcomed. But the proof of the pudding is in the delicious food. Believe me, as a vegetarian, bordering on vegan. Wow. I have never been let down. Ordered a seitan donner gyros this eve to take home. OH had a buttered chicken gyros. What can we say. It was awesome. And the prices, so reasonable!! Get yourselves booked in and enjoy the ambience and the food. I cannot rate the red lion highly enough. Obviously the word does get around and you struggle these days to walk in and get a seat. So if you want to try it, then please do reserve a table. But do try it. It’s the best food you could get for miles around. Probably our best kept secret!!

Proper traditional pub, both had the veggie burger and I can honestly say it was one of the best burgers I've ever had! Got a really nice garden just been decked out, will definitely be visiting again. Outstanding value two burgers and chips for £20, huge burger could only just eat it all.

We have been calling in at the Red Lion for about 18 months now. Fantastic beer, and a lovely garden which is in the process of having a great makeover in time for spring. Their breakfasts are so huge and tasty, at £7.00 an absolute steal. The menu is always varied and has some great vegetarian and vegan options. We have never been disappointed in the food we have eaten here, all fresh made and the prices very, very competitive. After calling at a inn near Hebden bridge last week and paying over £35 for two awful hot beef baguettes and 2 pints at £4.70 each we swore we will never eat anywhere but The Red lion again. Superb Home Cooked food at a more than reasonable price. Hosts very welcoming, would definitely recommend. Came here whilst on a short break (too short) Would definitely return. Paid much more in other places and got less. The cook certainly can cook, I had Steak Souvlaki and it was very authentic with tzatziki and Fries

We are vegetarian and always find it difficult to find good quality veggie food. I didn't realise they had such a good veggie menu. We had halloumi burgers chip n salad, it was really good, beer was good staff were friendly. Couldn't fault them.

My husband and I were recommended by our AirBnB host to visit this pub and in so glad that we did. The staff were friendly, the price of the alcohol was reasonable and the beer garden was tidy. The place is dog friendly which is always great as we were able to sit and have a drink with our two dogs. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the following morning to try their breakfast. The menu is varied and caters for different requirements. The signature "mighty muffin" did not disappoint. We will definitely be visiting again when we are in the area.

Fantastic food - regularly stop here for lunch during a Sunday walk. Today had short rib of beef with blue cheese. Very tasty. Purchased at the hatch and eaten under cover in the beer garden. Staff very friendly and efficient. Recommended. Also some fantastic homemade cakes.
