Happy with the food, but there was long delay for the orders to come through even drinks.. At first it took such a long time for the waiter to attend.

Food and beer good. Quite cold though so shame fires weren't lit.

We went there on Sunday. The Sunday roast was delicious and presented well. I would like to give a big shout out to the duty manager Rabina. She was very friendly and professional and made our visit an extra special one

We really enjoy visiting The Fox. The food is very good. We often just pop in for a drink and all the staff are very friendly and management will go over and above for us to make us very welcome. Highly recommended.

Went without booking a table for a birthday meal on a Thursday lunch time. During half term so there were a few tables but overall quiet. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I am lactose intolerant and Mums gluten free so the glass onion app makes viewing allergen info super easy. Was chuffed the fish and chips is dairy free! They’d run out of the vegan crumble but offered to make us a quick one but didn’t want to jeopardise the quality which was sweet of them to offer. Food was delicious, generous portions and arrived quickly and hot. Will definitely be back to try the crumble!

We often come here and eat. They welcome dogs and muddy feet. And it's a great place to start and finish a dog walk into Happy Valley.

Brilliant service, lovely food, overall brilliant time!

Definitely not as I remember it! This was always the go to pub for my family for decades. My chicken was tough to cut and not very warm. My Creme brulee arrived very very cold and in a broken dish. I'm not even going to mention the cost. This was our anniversary dinner and we'd hoped for better. We went to an M&S cafe the following day and their dinner looked good and I'll bet it didn't cost half as much.

Great atmosphere, dog friendly. Had dinner with my daughter, kids meal was hot, bangers and mash for myself and the homemade onion gravy was tasty! Neave and Jake both did an excellent job looking after us.

After a lovely walk over Farthing Downs, Mum and I stopped off at The Fox for a small bite and a drink. A warm welcome from Sam behind the bar. Bina who was serving in the restaurant, was warm, friendly and approachable. Mum wanted something off the lunch menu, it was just gone 5pm. After a quick check with the chef, Mum got her fish finger ciabatta sandwich. Huge portion and very tasty too. I had the chicken liver Pâté, also delicious. Thank you Bina & Sam for a lovely afternoon/evening! We’ll be back!

Katie gave us a warm welcome, was witty and attentive throughout our visit making it a very enjoyable experience. The menu was varied and the food was hot and high quality. Katie’s advice on menu choice was also appreciated. The only slight negative was that it got cold towards the end of our visit, probably caused by being seated near the fire exit (we’d probably ask for a different table when booking in future) but couldn’t fault anything else.

Nice pub to take a break after some walking. Beer options are the mainstream ones, nothing very special. Snacks were tasty. Muddy dogs welcome, which is a good thing here.

Easter dunday was amazing! Lamb was cooked to perfection. And the choctail was to die for! Katie's service was stellar! Will be back.

Scrumptipus roast. Service was a little slow on the sunday but we were a big group. Anything we asked for was provided without a complaint. Will definetely revisit !

Good food but the service was very poor today. Long waits and they managed to get both the drinks and the desserts wrong.

Had a great meal. The Signature Burger and Buttermilk Chicken Burger was amazing. We were served by Neave who was very attentive and Polite. We couldn’t have had a better evening. Thank you. Becky and Michael.

Sandra’s Quiz night is back …at last !!! We booked a table for dinner before the quiz started. Service was quick and the food was excellent

After a dissapointing Xmas experience about 16yrs ago we thought we would give The Fox Pub another try and what a pleasant surprise it was. Since taking over Mitchells & Butler have certainly improved our local pub with comfortable seating and lovely food at reasonable prices served by our delightful waitress. Well done to all concerned, we will definitely be returning soon.

I can not thank the staff at the fox enough, what they done for me was above and beyond what they needed to, I booked to have my 50th birthday here, they were brilliant nothing was to much it was so busy and they smashed it, if you are looking for a venue to book then this is a lovely place to hold you birthdays or special events, massive thanks Jake, Katie, gabs, the gooner as we know her 😂😂😂, Craig, Sam the barman, Jack, Olly thank you so much you are all super stars,

Sadly, I have had no response to the complaint I lodged online 7th March 2024, so need to air it here. The veg was served lukewarm on cold plates, main part of meal was hot so we put up with it, then noticed that my wifes sauce was actually cold! But as she was not planning to eat it and we just wanted a quiet meal, we pointed it out but did not need replacements. Then we realised that the advertised bottle of Wolfblass Chardonnay 13% was in fact only 10.5% - surely against trading standards. Again we pointed it out but the staff were a little non plussed, ot understanding the ABV % meant. The staff and atmosphere were nice, but the lack of response to our courteous online complaint is very disappointing. We will not be back there.

Had the signature burger which was fantastic! Chevy and Katie working super hard and giving great service to the guests. They made me feel at home. Would highly recommend

it took absolutely ages to have lunch. We got there at noon for a bite to eat as we had to be home for an appointment at 2pm. not really all that happy about how long it took. Also, when i went to pay there was no option to leave a tip, so i could only leave what I had in my pocket, which was woefully little.

Great food, great service and a lovely pub. Very relaxed friendly atmosphere and a beautiful old vintage pub. Easy to park too. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The Fox is always my first port of call when deciding to have a meal out with friends and family.

If you are looking for a great vintage country pub then The Fox is a wonderful place to go. Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere where the friendly helpful staff make you very welcome. Large open log fires, plenty of seating in old beamed barn like rooms. Food and service is excellent. Plenty of parking too. In the warmer weather you can sit outside with plenty of seating and safe places for the children to play. The Fox welcomes dog walkers too where you can relax with a good cold drink after some amazing local walks. The Fox is always on my list of places to eat with friends and family. We are so lucky to have such a fabulous pub so near to us.

Neave was a wonderful server. She was so friendly and relaxed and nothing was too much trouble for her. She repeated our order back (which was very reassuring) and went above and beyond to make my day special as it was my birthday. She brought me candles to put in my dessert. She is an asset to the pub. Thank you all for a lovely meal and especially Neave for her friendly and helpful manner :)

Absolutely loved our roast dinner today at The Fox pub. It was our first time and definitely won’t be our last. The service was fantastic and friendly thanks to Neave, she was very efficient and nice.

A lovely “country” pub with the perfect blend of traditional warmth and charm and quality gastro-pub- made even better by great service by Neave: confident and competent; efficient and engaging.

Took parents there for a midweek dinner - very good service, value for money, quality and portion control, plus now have a new favourite rose wine! Many thanks to Bina and the team.

The ambience, food and customer service was great. Minor issue with our order as my partner ordered extra mushrooms in his burger but the kitchen seemed to forget to put it in his burger and sent out whole sautéed mushrooms. We weren’t charged for it and the team apologised

As soon as we arrived we were taken to our table. Our drink order was taken soon after sitting down. When we were ready our meal order was taken. The starter and mains were very tasty. When we were ready our desert order was taken. . we enjoyed our food and enjoyed the ambience. The waitress was efficient and pleasant.

Good food, good atmosphere. Car park is a little tight and avoid on a Sunday morning as the football makes parking impossible.

Cosy, good food. Stone baked margherita pizza and fish finger sandwich - both delicious. Parking good.

A bit of a late review as we went on Wednesday but another lovely meal, we was looked after by bina always happy and bubbly and nothing is a problem, always a pleasant place to eat

The Fox was the perfect place to host our engagement party! The area was near the main bar but secluded in it's own section - which our guests loved along with the amazing buffet. The bar and waiting staff were brilliant as well as the manager who made sure everything was running smoothly. Would definitely host a party here again!

Place is terrible - from start to finish, dirty and cold and unwelcoming and the food is like some from a skip being plated up - such a shame not one person in the place seems to take any pride in their work, I can only assume the chef is a 10 year old……….save your cash

We had Sunday Lunch with some family and were shown to a table neatly set and offered drinks while we waited for others who soon arrived. Menus were offered and the choice was traditional , service prompt. Plenty of vegetables well cooked but my beef...

Had a lovely meal on Friday, the fire was roaring on a very cold night. Three courses were lovely, our waitress was really helpful, service with a smile. Sometimes it can be hit and miss with service and food, this time it was 10/10 for...

The food was awful, one of the worst roasts I have had. I visited as a friend has moved to the area. Roasts were clearly kept warm; everything was lukewarm apart from the stone-cold pile of sprouts. Potatoes were crispy, crackling, burnt and had an acrid taste; cauliflower cheese had no cheese and certainly none of the advertised crumb, fatty pork - I could go on. Staff unattentative. No cutlery, I asked two members of staff 3 times while food sat in front of us. Had to get up and get my own salt and pepper. Waited for gravy - asked 2 people by the time is came the meal was over.

The Fox was busy for a Wednesday lunchtime. We received great service from Bina and enjoyed our great food. The open fire was quiet pleasant, although I think it would have been colder without it.

Came in here the other day for a birthday meal and I have to say we were really happy with everything! The food was really great and our server Katie was really quick to take our orders with a smile! Sam on the bar was also great with his recommendations on a gin to have. Will be coming back!

We went for an evening Sunday roast dinner. The food was ok, the roast was tasty but needed to be warmer (was warmed up when requested). What would make a massive difference is if the staff were friendly and smiled rather than the cool/aloof atmosphere we experienced this evening. What a shame. The open fire was great though.

Our service was friendly, fast and relaxed - thanks Bina! The food was excellent and even better with the members discount for january. Made for a warm, pleasant midweek lunch, with fast service but not rushed. I’ll probably go back next week since the 50%...

Nice interior and huge inside. Perfect location too but I felt a bit ripped off being charged over £5 for a small cup of tea and a packet of crisps... its not central London
