The Fountain Inn in Portsmouth

A great little pub with friendly bar staff and more than reasonable prices on the drinks they serve. Extremely dog friendly. So much so, that my four legged friend pulls on his lead to go in, even when we are just walking past. The 2 star for food is not really a negative, it is simply because they only do bar snacks. However, these are of good variety and always well stocked. For sports......You can see a screen from all locations except the toilet, and it even has a whole wall dedicated as a screen, at the back of the pub. There is also a screen in the garden. Overall, a great pub with great local people, which has welcomed me and my wife since we moved here some years ago. Recently refurbished, very tastefully and to the character and history of this wonderful little pub.

Really lovely pub with a pleasant garden area and friendly staff. Plus £7.20 for 2 pints of Guinness, really can’t complain! 🤩 🍻

As you would expect a sports pub on a Saturday night. Busy, noisy. bustling and friendly, with multiple screens showing sports. Reasonably priced with a decent range of drinks with usually one real ale on.

Outta date scampi fries & bacon fries . Cheap baby Guinness shots my fave place . Nice and bright , 100% recommend. Scottish people swarm here .

Been going in here for a few weeks at weekends now . Good beer , nice staff , and it's not expensive. Long may it continue!

Went for drinks with friends here. This is a classic British pub, everything you want for a blokes beer session. Really enjoyed the venue, with cracking staff and amazing prices.

I attended a RAOB meeting in the rear meeting room. The bar is large and well light, well stocked with a good range of drinks. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, it was .a very good public house

Nice place for a drink and to watch sports, it wasn't busy as still before midday. Good service by a friendly lady. Nice clean toilet too. Parking is the tricky part but found one on one of the side roads.

Large guy with glasses. Possibly the owner, bad attitude. Could have resolved a miss understanding really simply. Instead he got the hump and treated us like scum bags. Quality service 👌

Fairly decent pub with a good selection of lagers, spirits etc. Loads of tv’s so ideal for catching sporting events. Small courtyard beer garden at the back. Staff are nice too!

Very pleasant surroundings, remarkably no noise from the aircraft landing or taking off ! Helpful staff kept the food, snack and drinks counters topped up ! Great way to start a holiday !

It's OK but some of the customers just shout all night long including the landlords brother so by 9.30 you've had enough so go somewhere else

Spent yesterday afternoon in there with friends. Good service and pleasant atmosphere.

Great experience. Landlord and landlady really care about pub and improving it. Being able to sit at the bar and just chat to friends and strangers is great. Great music, a free duke box that all make requests. And then the best bit… the prices are some of them better than Wetherspoons.

Nice venue let down by lack of service. Waited over half an hour to get a drink and it wasn't even that busy. Would also be better if they had the sound system installed correctly, having the speakers verticle at the top of a wall almost 6ft above head height works fine if the speakers are facing the centre of the floor but having them facing straight across the ceiling means they lose almost all of the mid and top leaving the audience with a muffled sound.

Great pub for a drink and watching the football or rugby. Always someone to chat to around the bar Need to get better bar staff though. Went last night for a quick pint and watch the Norwich Liverpool game Waited for 10 minutes without getting served. Asked the young girl behind the bar if we could get a drink as we had been waiting so long. She went down the other end of the bar and continued serving everyone else and refused to serve us. Really poor attitude. Shame because we really like the place

Excellent value pub, served HSB bitter, was only £2.60 a pint. Spacious outdoor seating. You could do a lot worse in Northend than visiting the Fountain.

The landlords commit fraud on their employees, by wage theft. The Brewery has known about this for sometime.

Such a lovely looking pub, with brass fittings and a fabulous long bar. It is a Sports Bar though, so the glorious, traditional look is a backdrop to several massive televisions and a screen. It used to be my favourite pub before it's "transformation".

Great locals pub with good beers. TV screens for sports. Just off the main north end shops. Good.

The only thing that let it down was the ladies loos. One loo had no light on the two times ive been. Also, a disabled young lady had very great difficulty with her carer going to the loo. Others were moaning the time & space it took for disabled lady to go loo. Yet they shouldnt be so thoughtlus over it as they may one day be in same position. Other than that, i really liked it in there.

yet again a great night was had there, even the dodgy quiz daint put me off. HSB on tap for the cheapest price in town should fill the place but they also cater for the sports fans. I love the place and you all should go.

Limited range of real ales on hand pump, lots of Sky TV screens. Almost exclusively middle aged white males on a Saturday afternoon.

Staff are always friendly and take the time to make you feel welcom. They remember what you drink and you never wait long to get surved. Never any trouble. The pub you can feel safe bringing you wife or girlfriend. The management are attentive and always ready to jump in with the bar staff. Good pub with good sports and well priced drinks. Never had a bad beer yet. Drinks are never flat and glasses are always clean, unlike other pubs. Well done.

Well what isn't there to say about this wonderful place - come and relax and have a good time whether your just here for a drink n chat, want to dance and boggie the night away at weekends or come in to watch many of the sports channels. This is a great place with a fine landlord and landlady. There is very often entertainment and the drinks are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

A very good pub with a good selection of beers all at reasonable prices. Plenty of tv screens showing various sports with most screens showing any football if it is on. Sometimes live music is available which can be a little loud as it is not a huge venue but it normally adds to the great atmosphere in the place. All the staff seem friendly and helpful as well as efficient when the bar is busy. Go in give it a try!

Good boozer, especially for men. Wouldn't really advise a woman to venture into there on her own,they may find it a bit intimidating
