The Fountain Bar in Belfast

Treat really badly , given terrible table for two in middle of central Walking area beside Christmas Tree. Sadly menu choice was not great. What we did order was ok but not worth the £45. We simply wanted to get out of the place as fast as possible .

We fancied a quick pint and popped into the first pub we came across. Fountain Lane is a lovely old-fashioned Irish pub with a lovely old-fashioned Irish Barman. There is a restaurant upstairs, but on this occasion, a pint was sufficient for our purposes. A really enjoyable visit

Excellent Sunday Lunch, BEST in the city. Fantastic customer service. Highly recommended. Staff went out of their way to accommodate the vegan diner. The Sunday carvery was beautiful. Roast beef, turkey and ham. Roast, creamed potatoes and fresh vegetables with gravy or pepper sauce £13.95! We all left with full bellies and happiness, ready for a nap. We are all going back again 19th November and can’t wait. Thank you!

Popped in here during a stag weekend. They had an excellent singer guitarist on who played our requests. Good atmosphere and a good pint of Guinness. Bar staff where friendly, worth a visit.

We visited this bar a couple of times while we were on a break in Belfast, friendly little place serving excellent Guinness. Tried other places... but always ended up back here. Highly recommended!

One young male bar staff was rude, thinking that showing multiple clients, the middle finger was acceptable, also blanking people that were standing at the bar who he didn’t like was totally inappropriate!!! He should be dismissed.

Called In with friends for lunch and a few beers , stood at the bar trying to order drinks wile my friends sat at a table, I was completely ignored by the bar staff and stood waiting for over 10 minutes, I eventually asked the elderly barman for service and he became totally stroppy .Do what me and my friend decided to do and take your custom somewhere else

2 bar staff on 545pm on a Friday in June !!! 15 min wait on every visit to the bar ! we couldn’t take it any more and went to the Harp Bar which was 10 times busier but 10 times faster !! Bar staff couldn’t care less

What a great pub just off the main strip. We got there at 7pm and were peased to find out that the early bird deal was two courses for $15, bargain! We odered the Haloumi starter with the battered fish main and both were delicious. Definetly a good value meal in Belfast

Was there to meet friends and have a wee drink then move on but we all decided that we should stay there and just enjoy the atmosphere that was buzzing in the place the staff in the place where outstanding especially are waitress I think her name was Renata she was very patient with a few people in the party as they are hard work, but she kept her cool and was very helpful, she also help another member of the party with picking the right meal as she is very picky then there was me I wasn’t to sure in what Whiskey I was going to have but she recommended the correct one to go with my meal all in all place is amazing and staff are outstanding they work hard and keep the standards high, as a person who has worked in the hospitality industry I know how hard it is these days to get staff who care and the girl we had loves her job very much we all commented on it that all the staff seem to work and still have a little fun while doing that especially in busy periods thought-out the day.

Visité Fountain Lane con algunos amigos a principios de mes y no tengo quejas. Conseguí la sopa de mariscos para comenzar y la hamburguesa de pollo como plato principal, ambos muy sabrosos. Las mesas estaban bien espaciadas y siguiendo las pautas del gobierno, el personal fue acogedor dadas las circunstancias actuales. ¡No puedo esperar para volver a visitarlo!

Reservamos una mesa para el sábado por la tarde solo para conseguir platos pequeños y algunas bebidas antes de continuar. La impresión de la camarera / barman fue que la estábamos molestando al entrar. No nos ayudó cuando le pedimos sus recomendaciones. Una vez que llegó nuestra comida, fue la última vez que vimos servidores hasta que tuve que ir al bar y pedir la factura. Nuestra comida está bien, definitivamente no lo recomendaría en absoluto, absolutamente insípido. . . es una lástima porque desde el exterior el lugar parece que tiene todas las campanas y silbidos que desearías cuando salgas un sábado por la tarde para tomar algo.

was up for the weekend and stumbled across this bar, had live music outside and seemed to have a great atmosphere. We then were told it was pride weekend and they had a day dedicated to Pride. They had music and acts outside which were very entertaining and we were stuck to our seats for the day! we had food upstairs in the restaurant and were severed by a great waitress called Jenny (i think that was her name?). She was really good and helpful and the food was good. When in Belfast would definitely recommend visiting this bar.

Fountain Lane was recommended to us, and as frequent visitors to Belfast we managed to get booked in before we visited this time.We'd looked at the menu before booking and again a couple of days before visiting, however; when we arrived the menu was different from what was adverstised.My husband and I were both looking forward to the sausage and mash, however; this has been removed, even the girl who served us said it was delicious.My husband had fish and chips and I had a steak, whilst the steak was cooked correctly I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected, the chips could have done with a bit more colour.The toilets weren't as clean I had expected, my husband commented that the bin in the mens was overflowing, I also noticed people not adhearing to the signs which suggest men were using the womens toilets etc.Whilst the staff were friendly, I feel like the few people who had visited for food had been forgotten and the focus was on people who were sitting outside for drinks only, I appreciate however; this is all new to staff and customers and we will return.

first meal out with my mum from lockdown all began. We had eaten in here a few times and enjoyed the food on every occassion. This time was no different. The food was delicious and the 2 girls that served us upstairs were outstanding. They cared for our every need with a smile and made us feel so comfortable with the social distancing procedures that i think will be very daunting for some people. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back again soon

We had dinner here last night with friends who returned recently from China and were pleasantly surprised at the extent to which we enjoyed our evening. We were impressed by the refurbishment of the premises but more importantly we loved our meals. Every course was delicious and the steak deal on offer for £25 is excellent value. We took possession of our table on arrival without notifying the staff which resulted in a slight delay to our order being taken. Overall the service was very good. The wine we ordered wasn't quite to our liking but this was the only negative comment we could make. With entertainment 'downstairs' and a real buzz about the restaurant we will definitely be back.

Had lunch today home made steak & Guinness pie, very impressed with quality, loads of tender steak pieces creamy champ well cooked veg, again portions very generous, it was piping hot which to me is important, I will definitely return soon, helpful and attentive staff.

Went here yesterday for lunch with friends. Although we had booked and our table was clearly marked as reserved for us we didn’t really need to as the restaurant was fairly quiet. Extensive menu with many different options. Food was very good, especially the burger. Atmosphere was quiet and very relaxed. Service was very good and overall it was good value for money. We will definitely be back.

Llamamos aquí para tomar unas copas antes de una reserva en un restaurante cercano, solíamos beber en la antigua Taberna de la Fuente, todavía parte del personal agradable aquí, Pintas de Pravha fueron agradables y el compañero tuvo algunos Pino Grigio - estancia corta pero fue animado y zumbido incluso a la 1 pm de un sábado.

Nos quedamos en Belfast y después de algunas compras nos detuvimos para almorzar.Cenamos en el almuerzo de tres platos para 17. 95 cada uno. Yo había salado pollo con chile para comenzar. La otra mitad tenía langostinos. Luego tuvimos carne asada que era muy tierna. Bonitos postres de Yorkshire. Para el postre tuve tarta de frambuesa. En general muy muy bueno.Leona nos sirvió. Amable y eficiente volvería.

Was here in the run up to Christmas. Can’t believe the negative reviews by others! Myself and my husband enjoyed a lovely lunch. The re-furb has been a huge success..I hadn’t been in what was previously The Fountain Tavern in many, many years. My husband mentioned it had recently reopened and perhaps we should give it a try. I had fish which was fresh, light and delicious. My husband had a burger which he he devoured! Service was prompt and friendly..thank you to our waitress, Louise. As someone who visited this hostelry each year at Christmas, I was very disappointed this year (2019).The bar and restaurant have been taken by new owners and although the refurbished bar downstairs looks better and is lively, upstairs was disappointing. Gone is the character and charm of this once great bar/ restaurant.The former restaurant served lovely fresh, wholesome, good food. Christmas fare was always their specialty. Well no more!I opted for the Christmas Dinner Special. Having waited 22 minutes for two drinks and 35 minutes for a burger meal and Christmas dinner, the dinner was poor. My friends burger meal was good according to him, but there was a burnt taste from the chips. Catering pack turkey and ham (had to remove stuffing as I’m coeliac) was served, semi-heated mash, a small spoonful of under-cooked veg and a ‘roast’ potato that was deep fried in over used oil with a burnt taste. No more freshly carved turkey and baked ham, fresh chunky vegetables, proper roast potatoes and mash. The chef had to scrap off the stuffing as the meat was pre-prepared. No fresh turkey or ham to carve and serve to customers.Gluten free options are limited and don’t feature on the menu.Overall a disappointing pre-Christmas experience for me and a last visit to the Fountain.

Después de deambular por la ciudad, decidí comer algo. La fuente encantadora encaja a la perfección! Gran ambiente y amables servidores! ! Comencé con la sopa de pescado. ¡delicioso! ! Cremoso y lleno de mariscos. Para mi entrante, la ensalada de pollo tempura. Pollo levemente rebozado sobre verduras de ensalada frescas con un lado de ensalada de papa. ¡Excepcional! !
