The Fountain in Cheshire East

Such a shame. Serves great snack food and good beers but never have enough staff on or indeed a manager who is professional and all over the very, very simple things to get right. Huge queues at the bar virtually all afternoon. Staff not clearing dirty glasses and plates. All just stacked up on the bar with no one even bothered about presentation or cleanliness. Cleaning sprays and cloths left on the bar for hours. Fairly disgusting to be honest. Could be so much better. Hopefully the owners read this and get a grip.

Once the manager leaves, the staff are worse than a joke. Literally two minutes after she’s gone the service is awful. Too many issues to explain. Hopefully the owner reads this review and takes action. Could be SO much better.

Always a delight coming here! Food and staff are always amazing! I did see a women being very rude to waitress about food she didn't want but I saw her eat. i was sat opposite this table. This lady also ignored the waitress when she was talking to her about the problem. She just spoke to her friend and pointed at the food. People like this ruin the atmosphere!

I ordered Eggs Benedict and a pot of tea. The tea was brought to the table straight away but by the time the meal came I had finished the tea. Also the poached eggs were almost boiled solid and the hollandaise sauce was awful.

Amazing … empty plates yet again! Compliments to the chef that evening … food on point! Staff are amazing, so accommodating! Helpful and friendly! Just basically the best place to be in macclesfield!!

Delicious brunch - the bread they use for their toast just melts in your mouth. Lovely sunny aspect, chilled background music and really great service.

Another fantastic evening at the fountain. Food and service 5 star. Really friendly and helpful staff especially the lady with dark hair with a flash of green (Elissa?) and we think her name was Vivien, but all the staff were spot on. Compliments to the chef (josh) the steak was cooked perfectly how we asked for . Love how the kitchen is open plan and you can see food being cooked. Great atmosphere and toilets always clean and tidy. We look forward to coming again. Many thanks.

Early lunch sit in the sun but would have sat inside in the bright and open interior. Attentive staff, quick service. Excellent range of local Bollington beers. Food came with fried bread doorsteps for the sandwiches. Dog got water. Card only.

Love it here. It's a firm favourite when visiting as my sister can get a nice vegan meal while they still keep us meat lovers happy too. The staff are lovely and they have a wide selection of ales and ciders on tap. Definitely recommend

Excellent coffee. Love the coffee here, hot and strong and alternative milks are available too. Brunch is always good, hard to choose a favourite dish. Love the avo and eggs and the egg with smoked salmon. All are reasonably priced and excellent quality with good portion sizes. One of my favourite places to hang out in Macclesfield. I meet clients here, friends, bring family and even the dog. Great for parties too. I had my birthday gathering here last year and it was awesome!

Great food, Great staff especially Archie and Ella always happy to serve with a smile. Drinks in the evenings are always fab.
