Best carvery around by far! .. restaurant looks amazing and modern .. plenty of food !

Had roast here,Sat.8/2/25 Roast Beef & Turkey very tender,tasty,& plenty of it good value at £11.00 for carvery,but not impressed,by roast potatoes,parsnips etc,greasy & soggy not crisply roasted,where we ate in large extension area,it was cold & so was bar,radiators all cold as in ladies loo too,was NOT comfy & cosy to eat! Did not seem busy!although very resonably priced,but my sister had had chicken kebabs salad,which she said was delicious,which you'd expect frim a Turkish run pub & restaurant.

First time eating here ,after so many people recommending it and I must say,one of the best roasts we ve had in a long time also had a desert,which was good too .Not a lot of service ,as was just told table number and pointed in right direction but would definitely come here again.

The best Carvery we've had. Beef melted you the mouth and a good selection of vegetables.

This place does what it says on the tin. If you are into bog standard Sunday meals (How boring are we English) this is probs the place for you....Venture off the carvery menu and you are faced with cold , shrivelled up offerings (in this case scampi) that are less than appetising. Definitely no repeat visit from us........Oh a word of warning . Car parking is an absolute nightmare. As the place is popular you are faced with an impossible task to find a space, that leads to some people opting for the dangerous option, parking on the main road, on the blind ,bend half on half off the road......Do so at your peril. Finally as a Northerner I was astonished at the prices these people charge for "Meat and 2 Veg ' An absolute rip off.

I could not believe what value this pub and restaurant delivered. I actually queried the cost for two people because it was what I would have been willing to pay for one. The Carvery food was delicious and beautifully cooked. I look forward to a return visit.

I have visited The Forge a couple of times now and I am so glad of being introduced to this place! I am a big fan of roast dinners and The Forge have this every day of the week! The decor is beautiful, very Turkish inspired with the coloured glass and wood. Their new space is very light and spacious and the original space is lovely and warming. Plenty of seating and areas. Self service at the bar which is fine. You pay for your food then head up to the carvery. Queues can often be long so pick your day and time well and allow a bit of a wait if you go at peak times. The food is ample, the meat is perfectly done. The beef is so soft and falls off the joint. It's usually beef, gammon and turkey. Would love to see some lamb or pork on occasional days! Ample veg!! So much you are spoilt for choice! The plates are quite small so it always looks like your plates are overloaded but to get a choice of all the veg this is easily done. Gravy, perfect consistency. It is so nice to be able to come here with my little dog! This will always be my number one choice for a carvery for my whole family. Toilets are very big but cold. Access.. there are steps from the back which go down but at the front there aren't as many steps, so anyone that has access issues would be better coming through the front. Carpark is often over full. There are 2 little huts out the back and up the stairs for outside sitting/smoking area.

Long queues waiting for food which was of good quality but look warm the serving area was very clean and the staff helpfull

Came in for a carvery and it was amazing!! staff were lovely place was really nice food was perfect it was hot well cooked and the selection of veg and extras was amazing couldn't fault it will definitely be coming back soon Thanks everyone x

Came here for the first time today with a large group of greyhound owners. The food was delicious, the staff were very professional and attentive, and the naturally lit area we were sat in with windows in the ceiling, was warm and comfortable. I knew my parents would love the place so told them about it once home, and off they went to experience it for themselves! They also had a fantastic experience and said they will be going there from now on. Well done The Forge, you have a lot to be proud of.

My three stars for the food doesn't give the full picture. The good, the carvery is awsome. Always hot, always fresh, you get more meat than anywhere else I've been and its good meat too. Staff always friendly and helpful. The bad, the roast potatoes need to be cooked for longer and they need to be turned mid cook. The suede is always to wet, runny, it's weird, Just cook the suede, drain it off, add some butter and mash it. Simple! Still a good carvery and will go back.

Had a lovely roast, good food, Swede and cauliflower cheese very watery. Please get rid of the artificial flowers as they are very tacky. The restaurant is decorated so lovely the artificial flowers spoil it.

Absolutely beautiful. LOVED everything, the beautiful surroundings, atmosphere, polite staff. Great choice and quality of fòod. Will definitely be back recommend. LOVELY PLACE.

Loved this place, had the carvery and the meat just pulled apart and the veg was very fresh. Definitely be going back again, even my Daughter ate all her food and that never happens at restaurants

My family have been using the forge for many years food always good and I appreciate they now get very busy. Two weeks ago myself and four of my family went there at 1.30 and was told that there would not be a table until 6pm as they were busy I accepted this and booked the table for 6pm not a problem. Today I went there at 2 pm to eat alone, there were lots of empty tables but was told they were fully booked i know 100% there was seating available but not for one person They have a lady there who allocates the seating and it’s like no tables available sorry when I asked about the empty tables she said there expecting big party’s to turn up Called back from outside in the car park asked for a table for told not a problem for would be ready in 15 minutes No loyalty, no respect for there old customers

Food is lovely service good but a serious issue with parking we had to park in the field and got bogged down with the help of other customers managed to get out ,a real dampner on an otherwise lovely meal.

On holiday and called here on Sunday on the off-chance of getting in. It was very busy, always a good sign. I would rate it as probably the best carvery we've ever had. To go with the generous portions of beautifully cooked meats were numerous choices of vegetables and accompaniments. Great value and lovely, welcoming staff.

This is probably the best Carvery in the South, and we have been to a few. We attended the Wickham food festival 🥮 and this was just somewhere we found to eat. It's so lovely inside and has lovely decor. It's a pleasure to be here. It was Sunday and it was very busy. We could buy a drink 🍷 🍻 and wait 🫷 outside. Nice outside area and warm 🥵 enough to dine out. Very soon we had our table in a very nice place. The queue was very long and soon we were at the hotplate and you can go left or right to be served. The team are very professional and friendly, I feel that they have all been properly trained as all staff were very attentive.. 🎂🍪 are to die for, my next trip will be dessert only. Best to go in the week when it's quiet and more cost effective. After dinner 🍽️ you can go on the adult sized swing. Top marks for the Forge. You can get a massive takeaway to.

Great food is not a typical carvery. Food is not just good it's excellent with decent portions of meat served up

beautiful decor, we had the carvery and all was pretty good, nothing is seasoned though so we added a lot of salt and pepper to everything. they also dont have stuffing! would eat here again

Incredible Sunday roast! It's always difficult to find a decent roast but they have hit the nail on the head. Great food, great atmosphere and all for a great price. What more could you want

Not great. I’ve heard such great things about this place so was really disappointed when we came last night. The food as average at best..the potatoes were hard as though they hadn’t being boiled at all! Food was luke warm The lady serving said the gravy was gluten free so I’d covered my dinner in it and started eating it to then be told by my mother who was queuing after me that they’d brought out actual gluten free gravy after I’d left and started eating!! So thanks for that, I’ll be suffering for weeks now. It’s cheap and you can definitely see why

Brilliant price for the roast, lovely food, have been a few times and never any complaints with the food always fresh, hot and delicious. Very clean, toilets lovely and clean too. Can be very busy if you get there for 12 when they first start serving, and to let you no foods ready they ring a bell it becomes a bit like a cattle market! It's not done on a first come first serve it seems to be who ever gets to the carvery first. Staff always friendly.

Probably not the best carvery we had last night...only because I felt the roast potatoes were frozen ones and not fresh ...it wasnt the best roast ive had from there and was a bit dissapointed if im honest because we eat here on a regular basis and potatoes have always been fresh.

I went here on a Thursday evening, to find hardly any staff, there was 1 person rushed of his feet at the bar, there was 1 person cutting the meat while serving food and trying to wash up at the same time. So service was slow. Very under staffed an so alot of waiting for food and service. And staff were miserable. Won't be going back.

A local refurbished Turkish ran and inspired restaurant offering the most amazing carvery today at 6pm. Very polite staff, though beer pulling not the best, were attentive, courteous and eager. The aforementioned beer, a popular cornish brand was off and even the second attempt to pour proved unsuccessful. However, the food was piping hot, bountiful, extremely well cooked and as our small party noted 'so filling they couldn't eat even a wafer thin mint'. We will be going again in the near future. Fully recommended.

Since there extension it's absolutely beautiful and the food is definitely the best for a carvery they don't hold back on the meat nice portions

Hearty portion for a more than fair price. Lots of parking round the back. Meat was a bit dry on this visit, but I understand it's usually even better.

Had the carvery, very good value. Good choice of vegetables, shame, no sorbet or dairy free desserts. I think if you order of the menu tends to be a wait for the food.

Myself and my family from out of town visited here on Sunday for the first time and we were not disappointed. We all had the carvery and it was delicious. Plenty of meat, a very large selection of vegetables and all piping hot. We were all pushed into a food coma after and a Sunday afternoon nap soon followed (well, for me anyway). We've been to other carverys in the vicinity but this topped them. We will definitely visit again!

2nd time in less than a month - the food is amazing- delicious. A little bit disorganised when you and the initial groups of people arrive at 12pm from two entrances, when they open; not sure if there is a queue to find out your table number, and another for ordering drinks, or you do both. It didn't take long and staff were great in being attentive and helping people as quickly as possible.

Went for a meal with the family had a calvary, I enjoyed the meal it was very tastie fresh cooked produce and very reasonably priced. Look forward to next visit.

I don't usually give bad reviews but if you are vegetarian please AVOID this place, tried to enjoy a meal with friends who eat meat, thought it would be fine but only 2 veggie options which both include the vegetable buffet and people were wiping serving utensils on meat, the putting them back in the veg. Major cross contamination! The staff just said this was always a problem, which is a massive shame.

Family-friendly restaurant. Amazing carvery! Very tasty meat and trimmings. Lovely decor. I particularly like the Turkish, colourful lamps, which make the atmosphere even more special. I'd highly recommend it.

The Forge has quickly become my favourite place to eat. Best carvery I have ever had. Very reasonably priced, and very generous portions of meat. Beautiful Turkish style lights and decor. Friendly staff. The only downside, it's extremely busy on a Sunday. On other days its quiet.

A Turkish carvery restaurant..... Food excellent, a bunch of us went for a carvery, someone had battered cod and someone else a kebab. The carvery was great, three meats and big choice of veg. Roast potatoes could have been a bit better but all in all it was good and the desserts were nice too all at a reasonable price.

Had a sunday carvery here yesterday (02/6) before a long journey home to Cardiff. Food was delicious, plenty of choice, excellent value for money. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit and we will be back

Love this place. Have been there 3 times now with a group of friends and we just love going back there. The price of the Carvery is excellent value for what you get, whether that be the smaller or larger portion. There's plenty of room to move around so those in Wheelchairs or with babies in pushchairs are easy to accommodate.

Wow is this place beautiful inside and out. My first time and came for a carvery. We got stuck in traffic so got here later than expected and ate our meal outside sonxe it was a lovely day and the garden was lovely. We were a bit flustered from being in the car and in traffic for so long that we didn't notice or realise it was closing and opening back up later for the dinner service. Instead of asking us to leave which of course the owner had every right to do, the owner informed us they were shutting but wanted to check if we needed the toilet before they closed and said we were more than welcome to carry on sitting out front and enjoy the sun and then came over with a drink on the house for us both and told us to stay and enjoy. Very kind and amazing service. I've already told my husband I will take him there soon as the carvery was fab as well as the staff and venue.

Went there today for the carvery. Excellent. It was one of our relatives 95th birthday and staff were brilliant. Bough out cake with music etc. Would definitely recommend

Amazing food, lovely staff and nice decor. The cavery was incredibly tasty and fresh with good veggie options. The team were super friendly. Also dog friendly! We took our 2 sausage dogs who were well received. Also close to the meon valley trail and the golf course. We aren’t too local but all definitely be back!

First time there. Very good very busy. Food lovely, only advise would be make sure you keep the carvery station topped up and free from spillage. Your success shows by the number of cars trying to park. Your going to need a bigger car park....
