Great intimate music venue & pub.

A pub that rocks. This small pub has a few booths and stalls, a pool table and board games. But add to that two large rooms for gigs. Not fancy, but fit for purpose

Great place to see live bands. The team there are first rate, friendly and helpful.

Pub section was good, fairly standard with some nice but had a SNES Mini hooked up so you could play some retro games, which always fun. Venue section was also quite good, I enjoyed the music selection and the blacklights(?) were a fun touch. There's a burger kitchen outside in the beer garden, not sure if they're separate businesses or if they are one in the same, but convenient nonetheless. Burger and chips for about £10 was quite good, sadly couldn't taste due to a medical problem at the moment but the texture was great. Only sour spot was when I ordered a drink, the price I paid was different than what was listed on the price list next to the bar. I asked the bartender why that was and they said that the list was outdated, so that would be the only real complaint on my end.

Great music venue. Basic but fun and friendly.

Comedy Night, second Tuesday. Great bunch of up and coming comedians, good crowd, good vibes.

A traditional British pub and all the better for it! Homely atmosphere, good choice of traditional ales and home cooked food. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area 👍👍

Great place to see live bands. We saw the Faux Fighters and had a cracking evening. Drinks were reasonable too and even got a pool table.

Fantastic music venue showcasing several bands that have gone on to be famous. Excellent atmosphere. There is a separate burger stall in the beer garden serving delicious burgers and crinkle cut chips

Wonderful small music venue. Friendly staff, we had a great time enjoying an intimate show. Would highly recommend, and will definitely return for more.

Fantastic venue, easy to find from the station, great bar staff and reasonably priced drinks. Really enjoyed seeing Rob Clamp and his incredibly talented band in such a welcoming and intimate venue. Will definitely be back to see more of my favourites.

Great place for an intimate gig, the proximity to the musicians is amazing and it generates a fantastic atmosphere. Nearly a home gig for Rob Clamp, so intent on delivering a very special night. Tremendous audience participation as he whipped up a stunning performance.

A fabulous pub with great character - perfect venue to go to listen to live music. I celebrated my birthday just the other weekend there, and all my friends from outside Winchester were in awe with the location :)

The Railway is one of my favourite venues in the whole country. Amazing place run with real heart, and at the centre of its community. Great bands too!

Fantastic little independent venue with a great staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Lovely and intimate, a great hub for finding both new and established artists. Very eclectic, would recommend to anyone.

This is a wonderful community asset. Great for a quiet pint in the early evening. Later on it gets busier upstairs for poetry, a book club or their roots revival open mic on a Monday and the bigger bands on stage out back. Don't miss Hendogs art work in the garden, a touching tribute to a local musician. Really dog friendly too.

Best place in Winchester, bar none!

Great little pub with loads of live music, ended up there at our work Xmas doo the other month and found some super comfy chairs upstairs which is always a nice touch!

Love the atmosphere, friendly, interesting people, great music events and bands. The open mic night was fun with a variaty of talents, overall a relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Every experience I've had at The Railway has always been 5 star! Great atmosphere, great service. The staff are all incredible, I couldn't recommend a better pub to drop into if you find yourself in Winchester for the evening!

Came in to play pool, from the start the atmosphere was hostile, the pound didn't give all the balls, neither did the second. Told that you have no keys to help out. Didn't think I'd get such a cold response from Staff after all the time I've spent in the pub. George needs to either gain some people skills or quit.

Truly how a Grassroots Music Venue should be! Excellent music, customer service and drinks available all through the week - they've even got a super nintendo in the front bar if you can't get space to play a frame of pool. 110% I will be recommending this venue to everyone I know.

Great venue! Went here for the first time to see Coda who were incredible. So glad I went and will definitely be back. Keeping an eye on the website now for what else to see.

What a great music venue. First time visit to enjoy Tarren (a brilliant "new" folk trio). Easy parking in local streets, good ale and relaxed, very comfortable club rooms. Sound was first class. PS Uprated to 5* on reflection!

the best (and the only) music venue in Winchester, good mix of bands per week and prices for drinks and tickets are reasonable. I would recommend going at least once if you are visiting Winchester.

Absolute Gem, It's very chilled, well organised, special shout out to Barman George! Service was awesome and very welcoming! Owner Daniel is an True Gent! Felt safe and comfortable, down to earth definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good change!

Went here for Rob Heron and the tea pad Orchestra, the staff were all friendly and helpful with information we required. The drink prices were average for any pub or bar. We will definitely keep an eye on any upcoming events.

We've been to The Railway Inn lots of times to see gigs and Wire Wool events. The staff are always friendly and the drinks are a good price. It's an old building, which is a bit wonky, and the car park is very small, but they try really hard to be accessible for those of us with disabilities, which is far better than many other places.

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting this venue to see Grant Lee Phillips. I use a wheelchair and checked with the venue before hand if they were accessible. The staff and the promoter could not have been more helpful.Thank you guys,we will definately be coming again. Don't miss this little gem.

What a lovely place. The staff are really patient and kind and helped me to have a brilliant gig experience in tricky circumstances! Also worth mentioning that it's so much nicer inside than pictures online suggest. Here's to The Railway!

Been to this pub a few times in the past few mouths staff started of as friendly then over the past few visits this mouth not so nice . Every time tried to park in the carpark been told it’s a private carpark and told to move and to park on the road . What’s the point having a carpark if not for the customers as it’s not easy to park near there . If their carpark didn’t have a load of old cars in it which locks like a scrap yard more than a carpark. Very poor not even going to visit this place again nor will I tell others to visit it . It’s okay saying you need to save spaces for your Band Members but it was a Monday afternoon early . Customers should take priority for parking .

One of the best small music venues in the South. The live room is brilliantly set up and because of that quality they attract acts bigger than you'd expect. Also a really important venue for new and up and coming bands in the area. The front bar is well set out and nice just to pop in for a beer, as is the refurbished garden area.

Amazing A really friendly venue, lovely staff. Free earplugs if you don't want ringing ears and a constantly refilling jug of water at the bar. You can tell that they care about the welfare of their customers. Just an all round chilled and caring vibe. I wish that all small music venue were like this

The Railway deserves immeasurable credit for providing a gig venue near to my home. Last Friday I saw Mik Artistik who was Fantastik (see what I did there?). Highly recommended.

Great venue for concerts. For the first time we were in Platform 1 for Boo Hewerdine and the sound was wonderful.

Haven't been here for nearly 15 years. The pub itself has changed alot and not for the better I'm afraid. The back room for watching bands which I did is still awesome and if you like good music venues then this is a must. But as I said earlier, it's not as good as it used to be....neutral gender toilets indeed....get with it

This restaurant is amazing. The food is exceptional, the station hill burger I would highly recommend. The food wait was minimal and the staff were friendly. There is a great deal of food to cater for everybody, would highly recommend this pub. 👍👍

Lovely atmosphere.... Staff very friendly... Food was lush... Our first time here and definatley be going back........ Reasonabley prices too.

My first visit and what a lovely surprise. Plenty of parking, easy access and the a relaxed and happy vibe throughout. Staff made you feel you mattered, service and food amazing. Would definitely recommend. There is little room for improvement as it is so good however the portions are large so to avoid waste for those with smaller appetites the option for a smaller portion would be great.

Best burgers around. Frickles so good and dirty fries are fab

Really nice staff, good drinks selection reasonably priced, good layout and food in the beer garden. Strict covid policy for gig goers which was handled really well

Party of 13 and a camouflage of Yorkshire pudding to hide the lack of meat and other real food not given, Really taking the Micheal this place with over inflated prices and a chef that must be directing the management on giving big plates with no food on them or the management thinking they can get away with it and skimping on food! £260 and will never be fooled again by this place! AVOID!

Excellent dinner. Food was very good and well cooked. Delightful Christmas fare. The service by Gabby was outstanding. What a delightful waitress! Sincere, smiley and attentive without being intrusive. A wonderful evening.

Had another great roast today. This pub is a real gem. Staff are friendly. Food is excellent and very reasonabley priced. Would recommend this pub to anyone.
