Easy parking, great fish and chips with huge chip portions!

Told the chips were fresh…..opened them at home and found soggy, stale efforts cooked god nows when in stale cheap oil using nasty potatoes. I can usually eat most things but even I gave up, I won’t even burden the fox with them ! Tried to call but website phone No. not recognised and then to email and that didn’t work either. Clearly not interested in feedback for their business, sends a very clear signal. Avoid, the ‘food’ is truly rubbish.

As good as ever. Never been let down. Slightly more oil on the fish than the other place we use but nothing drastic. Sorry but Sams Fish Bar on London Road Waterlooville has taken over as our go to chippie.

Fish size is terrible, I ordered a large and it was so skinny, batter was so thin you could see the fish through it. Was really shocking if honest. There prices are really high so I was expecting really good quality food. How wrong i was. As for the service you don't even get a welcome smile as you go in, nor a smile when they look at you to take your order. They are actually really grumpy 😠. Definitely Wouldn't return

Fish and chips are always lovely from here. My only issue is chips didn't have any salt and vinegar on as requested. It wouldn't have been an issue, but I was eating them outside after a drive.

The Fish & Chip Shop in Denmead has been under new management since around June 2015. The chips are crispy and you get a good variety of sizes. They have a numbered system for collection meaning everyone gets served in order which feels very organised. They also are on the Havant and Waterlooville Eats App of you have it There's a good variety on the Menu which includes some Vegetarian options and a large portion of chips is enough to feed 3 people (in my house). If you've tried it before and didn't like it then I can recommend giving it another go.

Outstanding food and service here. Its always served hot and fresh and I've never had a bad meal from them. The gluten free option is also a life saver having an allergy in the family and so few other places cater for this woth fish and chips. Can't rate them highly enough!

My only concern is they take cash not card. Is this safe? Food is delicious.

Overpriced - they dont do small sizes for items, just Medium , which in fact is small ! - had a medium chips £2.40, oily and floppy, Batter not crip on fish. had a bad night because of this food ...lived in village nearly 10 years - only been once, but that trip made me confirm why I hadnt been sooner - and never will again

Staff are kind. I think they took over from the previous owners a while ago, but quality is unchanged and I think sometimes better.

More chips than most people could eat. Cod and haddock both nice - batter could have been just a little more crunchy. Could pay by card. Will be back. Thank You!!

We have two fish & chip shops within 3 mins of our house but purposely drive 10-15 mins here as the fish and chips are some of the best we have enjoyed. You order and pay for them and then wait to be called. The fish is always fresh and the the portions of chips are very good. We have been here about 10 times and never had a bad meal. Totally recommended.

This is the best fish and chip EVER! Everything we've ever had from here has been excellent. We've been going here since it opened, we moved out of the area two years ago, but still come back here for our chip dinners! The staff are fantastic and everything is extremely clean

Eaten here a few times chips are always pretty soggy but normally let it go as the bartered foods normally alright, however got tea tonight and the sausage was burnt to a crisp the fish was awfully chewy and the chips well they were so shockingly under-dun I and soggy couldn’t even bring my self to eat them! Shocking, defiantly won’t be returning or recommending.

Food reasonable. Bit pricey but probably in keeping with location. One medium cod £4.99.:judge for yourself. Service fairly efficient though hard to hear number being 'called' when you are waiting outside with doors closed.

I visited the Denmead Chippy last week. The Covid precautions are second to none, although surprised they take cash only - no cards. I ordered, waited outside and listened for my number to be called. I got the Fish and Chip home and my brother and I opened the packages. He was amazed at the size of the portions. 'Massive' was the word used. The chips were perfect, the fish excellent, but way too much for us. We were full up having only eaten about half. Shame to waste so much. It won't put me off, I will be back. Thank you Denmead Chippy.

From winchester but had a job to do in Demend the other week, throwing it down with rain horrible and dark and saw this chippy on my way home and thought why not... I have to say I've travelled all over the country and these are quite possibly the best fish and chips I have ever had, decent size portion for a working man. You won't be disappointed.

This is our local fish and chip shop. It's kept spotlessly clean and the service is impeccable. The portions are huge, so we often order a large chips between three of us. They have lots of other options, such as burgers, including vege-burgers, so the whole family is catered for. The wait can be quite long at busy times, but that's testament to the quality of the place.

Easily the best chip shop around - good size portions, not greasy at all, burgers are superb with fresh salad, staff all very friendly and very well priced! Would 100% recommend.

Always a nice greeting the food is presented and prepared very well never had an issue with the food always a steady stream of customers but you do not have to wait long for your order.

Quality chips, very tasty, fish is excellent my daugher likes the burger with the salad. The service is excellent. It will be busy at peak times, but worth the wait

Really good value for money, we spend £18 to feed a hungry family of five, portions are a great size. Chips are lovely, fish isn’t the best around but still good, food is of a high quality overall! Always cooked fresh to order and shop seems clean. We go frequently.

This chip shop is run by a family and the level of service is great, the food is always good and the portions plentiful! we tend to get a normal portion of chips between two of us and the fish pieces are a reasonable size as well, perhaps not the cheapest in the area on the price list but certainly the best overall

This is the best Fish and chip shop for many miles. It's spotlessly clean, the portions are massive and the prices are very reasonable. There's plenty of choice on the menu and you get nice little touches like a fresh lemon wedge with the fish.

I have to say that the food here is consistently excellent. Every time I have been there the fish has been cooked fresh, is of a good quality and the portions are what I would expect. With a slice of lemon too! However. Please smile at the customer and greet them. Just because it’s a fish and chip shop doesn’t mean the customer is any less important. It would elevate the place significantly.
