I don't know how they can get a kebab so wrong. Dry, unflavoured. Expensive. We all had the chicken souvlaki and none of us finished them. I barely ate mine. It's literally dry pitta bread. With dry skewered chicken in it. Some unseasoned salad next to it. The dips all come separately. I ended up getting a GDK on the way after the gig we had been too as i was so hungry.

Great presentation and meal suggested by the chef. It was a quiet afternoon so it felt like a private dining session for us. Great atmosphere 👌🏾

Had the pleasure of visiting YiaYia's over the weekend with a couple of friends. We were served a enchanting young lady by the name of Jess who were super informative about all the different dishes. We had mixed Mezze and I opted for the Kleftiko which was superb. The food was just superb not to mention the personal attention from the Head Chef. Highly recommend this great Gem of a restaurant and cannot wait to return.

Everything was beautiful and pristine in this gorgeous little restaurant. We were delighted to find this little gem in Winchester town centre. The food was out of this world. So fresh and delicious (all freshly cooked by Fytos, the fabulous owner). It felt like we were on holiday in Cyprus with the music, decor and wonderful smells of food. Everything played up and presented equally wonderfully. We will have to go at least once a month to avoid serious withdrawal 😉. Honestly. Very highly recommended.

We were warmly greeted and seated by a super friendly hostess named Jess. For starters we had a selection of mezze ie taramosolato, tzatziki and houmous which was super tasty. For mains we both had the Kleftiko which was simply delicious along with a red wine Jess recommended. The chef Fidos came out to check if we were happy with the food which was such a lovely gesture. I would highly recommend this restaurant as the attention to detail is simply superb. I’d highly recommend YiaYias as this is some of the best Greek food I’ve had in years

Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Yiayias Kitchen in Winchester, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a while! As a Cypriot who studies in the UK and constantly misses her grandma’s food, the dishes here made me feel right at home as they were authentic and delicious –something hard to find in most Greek/Cypriot restaurants in the UK. The highlight of the night though, was the owner/chef, who made us all feel so welcome and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. His generosity and warmth truly made our evening special. I highly recommend this gem for anyone who loves Greek/Cypriot cuisine :)

Some of the best food I’ve ever had, a table of 10 and we were all just talking about how good it is. It tastes just like home. It’s like a hug to the stomach. I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s that good. Everything is beyond great, not exaggerating. Come see for yourselves.

Booked a table for 12-Mar-25 for a family catch up. Booking was confirmed. Traveled 45 minutes, parking paid, to turn up and the restaurant was closed. In full darkness. No contact to say the place wasn’t open or any changes to the opening times. Massively disappointed and ruined family plans.

This is one of those great finds off the main high street. A lovely restaurant with a very friendly owner who serves the food and cooks it. He popped over to our table for a chat and to check on our food a number of times, and took great pride. The food was delicious, and well cooked. Go hungry to the restaurant as the portion sizes are great. The food tasted authentic and the moussaka was excellent. We live in Winchester and we are so pleased we have found this restaurant. Great to find somewhere where you can watch your food cooked, and strike up good conversation with the owner.

Came in for lunch with my son today, what a lovely experience it was! The owner/chef was extremely hospitable; he certainly went above and beyond to accommodate us - making us feel right at home. The food was likewise delicious and friendly service from the nice young chap enhanced this experience. 10/10 would highly recommend, will definitely be returning!

Delicious food and excellent service. We got the sheftalia and pork souvlaki cypriot style kebabs. I asked the chef for dip recommendations for the sheftalia and he helpfully provided that the cypriot tahini and chilli sauce are good! We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t busy, but plenty of reservations on tables for 6pm onwards, and it’s a small place. Food was provided hot, fresh, and fast, and best of all delicious!

Lovely food, the chef came over to explain the specials and that he was happy to make alterations. Only issue was the background music made taking and hearing the chef difficult due to its volume

I had a great experience at Yaya’s kitchen . It has a cozy atmosphere with lovely and friendly staff . I highly recommend the place . It is very close to high street you can park your car easily anywhere near it .

Today had the pleasure of dining at this amazing little Greek restaurant, and it truly exceeded all expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the entire experience thoroughly pleasant and memorable. They couldn't do enough for us! The food was outstanding. I enjoyed the halloumi wrap with hummus and chips, and it was fantastic! Not greasy at all, very tasty, and served in a generous portion. The prices are also super reasonable, especially for Winchester. If you're tired of the soulless chains on the high street, look no further than this fantastic local spot. We paid £20 for two small chicken skewers and chips. I'm shocked they can get away with charging those prices. Food doesn't look like it does on the reviews! We all left hungry.

I’ve just been with my family at this beautiful cosy Greek restaurant and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was delicious! Two girls who work there are so friendly and happy with the big smile on their faces. I would definitely go back there again! Thank you

This restaurant recently reopened. It has an online presence. Service was great but does not unfortunately live up to the hype. A lot of the food was microwaved.

I had high hopes for "authentic" Spanakopita, not often seen in Greek restaurants in the UK. This was thee worst I've ever had. It usually comes in a tiramisu type shape, not egg rolled...VERY oily, not cooked all the way, couldn't finish them, £8.50 and they tried charging tax 🤨 No value for money whatsoever. The search for *actual* authentic Greek food continues...🫤

Came here with the in-laws for my wife's birthday. We ordered a variety of dips, hot meze, grills and a vegetable moussaka to share. Good options for meat-eaters and vegetarians like. Everything was delicious, and the friendly chef took time to introduce himself to us at the end of lunch service. Will definitely be coming back!

Positive: Very good atmosphere, the dishes are good even if there is only a small quantity of meat if you choose beef. Negative: The dish I originally wanted was not available when I came and the server asks to leave a review which I don't necessarily appreciate.

great new takeoway! If you want authentic Greek food with lots of fresh vegetables, herbs and spices, this is the choice for you. large portions, everything hot. our car smells of Greece now! I recommend chili and tzaziki sauce. Epic. very nice service and a talented cook.

Despite the shambles with bookings taken when the restaurant was closed, I still want to try the food. However, £15.50 for a chicken pitta wrap in Winchester is absolutely insane! I know it's unfair to compare with them being only €3-5 in Greece where you can often rent a villa for less than £3k per week these days, but you can buy a chicken shawarma wrap at Maroush in Knightsbridge for £8. Bear in mind that is 200-odd metres from Harrods and slap bang in the middle of one of the most expensive places on earth.

Lovely place, the food is incredible and the service kind and friendly. The small space makes it more homely. Highly recommend.

The place looks a little unassuming, but it is easily the best Greek food you’ll eat in this country. The staff were amazing and so happy to talk us about the ingredients and take their time just to chat to us. We loved it and are going back asap 😍

We had a lovely evening at YiaYias, we felt very welcome and well looked after by the staff. The food was delicious, home cooked, made to order, nothing bought in - a very refreshing change from a lot of Winchester’s chain restaurants. If you appreciate authentic food, good service, and genuine people then you will not be disappointed.

I ordered from the app, so I can only rate the food. The value for price was really bad as I paid almost £20 for a lamb wrap that was really dry and the meat was very chewy. The chicken was almost burnt while the sausage didn't have any good taste at all. I know Winchester is pretty expensive but I think their prices are are way too much. UPDATE after reply from the owner: I appreciate the reply. My rating had to do with the Value for money. I knew it was expensive and I ordered but I 'd expect the quality would be much better. Regarding the fact that delivery applications take as much as 30% of the sale, I 'd be genuinely interested why the other restaurants (even independent ones) do not increase their price

Went to YiaYias after a recommendation, didn’t miss a beat! A brilliant, authentic Greek spot with an amazing, friendly team. Igor greeted us and continuously checked in to see if we needed anything. Nico in the kitchen provided a true representation of the amazing Greek cuisine! Highly recommend!

I booked this Greek Kitchen for my wife's birthday cause we both like Greek food we also took our son along to celebrate her birthday. The kitchen has about 6 tables and you can see the chef preparing the meals, we ordered from the menu a few starter dips which came with flatbread and it was amazing Beetroot Tzatzik, Chilli Sauce, Tzatziki and Spicy Chicken Souvlaki, Spicy Chicken Souvlaki and Lamb Souvlaki, lets just say it was fabulous food which we all enjoyed. Pay a visit it's worth it

We had a fabulous mother's day lunch here. No childrens menu so we all shared lots of meze dishes, which was actually far better. Delicious food, great service and really good with kids. Would definitely recommend.

Just had a beautiful lunch Yiayias, Casual little cafe in the city centre. Supe friendly service. The food was wonderful - fresh, authentic, flavourful, family recipes passed down to the owner from his Grandmother (Yiayia). We had a selection of dips with the best pitta we've ever had (Grandmother's recipe). The Tzaziki was so tasty made from wonderfully creamy greek yogurt. Lamb Souvlaki was grilled to perfection, Chips crispy outside and soft on the inside, lovely salad with creamy feta. We had a wonderful culinary experience here. Yes you can get all these things on market food stalls and at the supermarket, but it was really worth the extra couple of quid for this quality and flavourful meal. We will certainly be back.

What a find! We stopped here for lunch and created our own mezze from the starters. 2 dishes per person for the 4 of us. Each dish was beautifully presented and equally delicious. The service was excellent as was the value for money. Best meal out for a long long time.

Went to Winchester during Christmas markets. Every restaurant we walked past had long ques and was extremely busy. Just 2 minutes off the main high street we found yiayias (never had Greek food before). Which was very small and not very busy meaning we could get away from the crowds and enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere A mistake happened in the kitchen and our food went to another table, the server who was extremely friendly, polite and always had a smile apologized and gave us a discount on our food. Food still took a little while and we could see other dishes coming out quickly so I believe it was just a genuine mistake and one off compared to there normal quick service, so he came back and gave us our meal for free (I did try to leave them a nice tip but I'm poor so did the best I could). When the food came it was absolutely delicious, I will definitely be trying more Greek food and if I go back to Winchester this will be the first place I go to get some scran. Service was amazing, food was outstanding, smaller shop meant a quieter more relaxed atmosphere which was exactly what we needed after being on the high streets. sure they made a small mistake and it took awhile but they more than made up for it with a very friendly attitude and made us feel very welcome. 10/10 in every category. First meal I've ever had where I didn't have to pick the onions out and just ate them because it was just so delicious

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish! I'd made an enquiry for a large booking for a 30th Birthday and Igor was really helpful and accommodating in making the arrangements to suit our needs. On the night, we had the whole place to ourselves and the service and food was amazing - fresh, full of flavour and great to be able to watch everything being prepared and cooked. So glad that Yiayias is open again and clearly in good hands, we will 100% be back!

After living in Greece for a short time - the flavours here took me right back . All the ingredients are greek and totally fresh . Stopped here for a snack and was made very welcome. But the food was so good I had to come back again 6 days later and give the menu a good workout . Starters, sides and mains . Followed by pudding . Stayed for 3 hrs until we almost popped. Entertained all the time by a charismatic team . I almost don't want to share this place incase I have to wait for a booking in future 🤠 Well done Yias Yias . You have a great future before you ! Visited Yiayais with a friend upon her recommendation last week. It felt like being transported back to Greece, with a fun, sociable host Igor and the welcome and great food of the chef Nico. The restaurant feels really relaxed and welcoming due to its smaller size and the decor is really fresh. I'll be sure to come back again soon!

Great restaurant, the chef had family recipes which were fantastic. We went after the lunch rush and were the only ones there. Service and food was fast, they were happy to offer advice and great combinations. My wife is vegetarian and there were plenty of options. Best Greek salad I've had in ages. We had a baby with us and they provided a high-chair. Will go again when back in Winch but for dinner I imagine you'd have to book a table.

Came for lunch on a Wednesday. The hospitality and service was fantastic from the moment we arrived. As a Greek I can tell you for certain that the food is INCREDIBLE. The chef is Greek and the flavours authentic. Tender pork Souvlaki cooked to perfection. The waiter was incredibly attentive and fun to interact with. We even played chess! Igor and chef Nicos were fantastic, the food was excellent too (had a Pork Souvlaki meal with fries and three dips). Both of them were generous in offering refills of the delucious Tyrokafteri dip (chilli dip), and made great conversations. Highly recommended!

Mama Mia! -- What an amazing evening we had at YiaYias Kitchen (Yiayias we learned is Greek for Grandma) - so this Grandma's Kitchen. Nikos the chef learned to cook Greek food from his grandma. Grandma obviously got it right -as we thought the humous, tzatzki, and other dips were incredibly delicious. The grilled chicken and lamb souvlaki and the fresh, home made. flatbreads were also mouthwateringly good. And you can have halloumi fries! And yes - baklava and other superlative puddings to finish off with - if you can fit them all in! If you like Greek food you couldn't go anywhere better for a slap-up Greek feast! Thank you Egor and Nikos for making us so welcome. We even got up and had a little dance which made our night! This restaurant has only been open 2 weeks. This restaurant is a great find. Nikos and Egor make you very welcome. Yia yias means Grandma in Greek so this is Grandma's Kitchen. Grandma taught Nikos to cook and she certainly knew what she was doing. The food is fresh, home cooked and mouthwateringly delicious. It's a lovely relaxed atmosphere. If you like Greek food you can't go wrong. I would highly recommend. (We even felt inspired to get up and have a little dance!!) We will be back for sure. Thank you!

Truly amazed by this place! Absolutely spectacular atmosphere. I really recommend the beef sausage with red onions simply the best thing I have ever had, accompanied by fresh falafels on the side and pita with 4 different types of dips. I got a lamb souvlaki as a main, the meat was so fresh and seasoned so nicely. A authentic greek restaurant. With an authentic greek chef! All the food was delicious and fresh and I recommend with both hands!🙌

Amazing food amazing service amazing atmosphere. I came her with my girlfriend for dinner and had the chicken souvlaki wrap with the chilli sauce, it was amazing and full of flavour. Igor, the manager, made our night much more enjoyable and made us laugh constantly with his bubbly energy. Nick, the chef, ensured that the food was up to standard and I can assure you it was. Would definitely recommend to everyone to visit. Amazing!!!

Lovely people, lovely food and lovely experience overall. Greeted with a smiley young man who explained all the different types and varieties on the menu, could tell he was passionate about the food. We went with what was recommended and did not disappoint! Not afraid to throw in complimentary items, which makes you feel like you are just at home and they do it with love. Relaxing, take your time to eat, enjoy and just be in the present which is what it should be about. Also if you’re going to get the white wine, get the Greek Seméli…gorgeous! Will be back. 😊

Yiayias had just reopened the day we visited, all the staff were friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. All 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and we will absolutely visit again - thank you Yiayias!
