I don't want to be unfair. The food and atmosphere were as good as usual. Generally, I quite like Wetherspoon's. I like the range of beer and it's a pleasant environment. But today was a sad day and frankly quite bizarre. We went for a family meal with friends, all ordered separately, were brought food at different times and ended up with an extra meal, an all day brunch, which we tried to refuse but the waitress assured us it was ours and just left it on the table. Perhaps the manager was having a bad day but he walked over to our table and accused us of knowingly taking a meal that wasn't ours, that our accounts of what had happened were lies and that we had harassed his staff. He was so rude and abusive that we told him we'd raise a complaint about his behaviour so, naturally, he declared the entire table banned permanently from all Wetherspoon's. We left. Some of us abandoned their entire meals and others without finishing drinks. So much for a fun family meal at Spoon's!

One star and that only because of lovely Bar person Heather who was cheerful friendly and helpful ( not only to me ) BUT the Bacon Butty I ordered UGH !! Although pub was quiet maybe 20 customers in total the bacon butty took 25 mns to arrive and was almost cold I returned it and it was brought back to me and was still at best luke warm !! I gave up The guy on next table eating his breakfast said his was just as bad I will never eat in this pub again

Good location. Always stop by and have a beer before home. Place is overall clean and great staffs... only thing to remind is the bike parking outside pub got stolen once after 2 pints...

A bit rowdy and messy, but otherwise quite a comfortable place to have a drink and some very affordable food.

Spacious seating arrangement with good lighting and ambience. Decent food for the price paid and unlimited beverage refills was the best part. Seatings near the toilets were a bit smelly though we visited in the morning when they were supposed to be clean. Ordered the traditional breakfast and a small breakfast which along with the coffee was sufficient and perfect. Would love to visit again.

Good examplar of Wetherspoons. Usually good beer, but last three visits no "mainstay" Abbot Ale. Menu extensive, cooked well and service quite good. Good location just south of city centre and university.

The manager on shift (with a ginger beard and hair, checkered shirt and 1 smaller arm) swore at me and my friend on countless occasions because I didn’t receive the chicken stripes I ordered, and decided to take the piss out of my friends job several times. The manager also proceeded to call all people on the table liars due to the apparent food “received”. Once the chef in charge came out (who was lovely and reasonable) offered for the food to be made and served but the male manager point blank refused to allow the food to be made out of pure spite. Although I have worked in several bars, pubs and restaurants this is by far the worse on shift manager I’ve ever encountered. I think there needs to be more people skills training.

Less words said about the manager the better! The manager had a ginger beard and hair and one smaller arm than the other. He has unbelievably bad people skills where he decided to swear constantly at costumers and got aggressive with it. People skills are none existent within this company if this is the best weather spoons has to offer. The other staff on the other hand seemed to want to be helpful unlike the manager who seemed to just want his ego to be stroked. This seems to be a common theme within these reviews.

The best carpet in town and cheap drinks. For once my card did not get declined and I was drunk for the night !

Food is usually quick and basic value for money but the toilets are always disgusting, wet on the floor and smelly usually avoid needing the toilet when we are there. Needs a serious health and safety check

Popped in with friends on a Friday afternoon. Although atypical Wetherspoons decor and menu, that's about as much as it has in common with other Wetherspoons. Service dreadful. Cannot get a signal inside so have to rely on patchy WiFi to try order via app. Ended up ordering at bar. Atmopshere dreadful, drunken louts, drug users off their heads and generally unfriendly people. Many people way too drunk sat outside jeering and howling at passersby. Every table seemed to be sticky and there was no care or attention to cleaning. Napkins and other trash like condiment packets and straws all over. Despite ordering the same food as other Wetherspoons, the food was subpar. The katsu curry sauce, was non existent, the chicken breast overcooked. Other food proved fine and Wetherspoons standard. Toilets were very clean, so kudos for doing one thing right! Generally the worse wetherspoons in Manchester, I would avoid.

Not bad breakfast, service could do with a smile and customer friendly, but last last visit license act sign out of date, which overall needs some improvement. The staff likes to ban people who are disabled which is a discrimination and a Disgrace! Watch out for the bloke with a disabled arm that discriminate someone who has hearing impaired!

I have been going to wetherspoons daily for years in Manchester and have never seen anything strange from a nasty member of staff that has a disability giving me a ban for being disabled!

Sam’s service brings a tear to my eye it was so good, he should be praised for his people skills and his endearing eyes!

Got a wrap and chips me and a friend it was cold told one one of the managers .whom I found very rude .no apology simply can warm it up in the microwave. Will never return here again plus to pieces of vile looking chicken on a wrap .worst weatherspoons I have ever been to. No apology and no exchange with the order will not return to this place again 😒 🤑🤑🤑

Really good Vegan Breakfast at a reasonable price

really nice weatherspoon! Went for breakfast which was such a bargain - about £4 for the veggie breakfast and exactly as you would expect from this chain. Limited interaction with staff when being served but again to be expected from a weatherspoon pub. On thing I did like imparticular was the cozy decor and the boardgames available to play! I'm not 100% sure how the pricing works across spoons but this was definitely in the cheaper bracket of pricing (due to being further from the city centre I'm assuming)

I asked my meat to be well done n I didn't want to see blood. I got it chewy,like elastic n red in the middle,I did have a few nibbles before I saw the colour n ended up leaving it.Will make sure next time.

Odious characters in aplomb - both inside and out. Brother for threatened by a flat earther. I got s3xually-harassed. Staff are fine but overworked and underpaid. Plus, the owner Tim Martin is a certified reprobate. Badness begets badness.

Really like this place. Service was quite fast, did not take too long after ordering. Also, the prices wasn't crazy. Overall I like the place and would recommed it to someone that hasn't visited yet.

A fantastic culinary experience somewhat spoiled by a confusing lavatorial layout. Upon breaching the inviting double doors you are greeted not with the comforting aroma normally associated with Tim Martin's U bend but an area of the pub so incomprehensible to the human mind that I won't even attempt to describe. Thankfully the manager of the establishment was on hand at world record pace to restrict the sensory overload and signpost me to the actual toilet with a reassuring tone and friendly smile.

The food is average, not very tasty. Their coffee is deeply inconsistent - I came here three days ago and had the best coffee/hot chocolate a machine has ever made. Tried it again today and nearly cried - it was so watery it was almost transparent. It gets really noisy in the evenings so if you're not a fan of that I'd recommend coming earlier in the day. Nice drinks selection. Overall it's a gamble - it has its good days and its bad ones. Staff are always really kind and helpful.

Pathetic grilling of halloumi cheese.

The Breakfast be it Large English or Vegetarian is always disappointing. Not value for money, and the Beans are a shady portion (1 tablespoon) 1 little half cut tomatoe not cooked. It's a very dry meal and they expect you to pay extra if you complain?? You will need to use lots of sauce to moisten your food to swallow it and get very thirsty after. Vegetarian are sausages very dry not tasty. Chopped tomatoes and a decent amount of beans with the Breakfast will make a difference to the plate. 1 small half button mushroom served also not acceptable. You're buying a large Brekkie and they're giving you small. Other items on the menu "alright" but expect most items as heated from frozen or microwaved such as the mash. Most so called in house caterers and restaurants are just cooking from frozen it's no longer appetising. I never bother with the desserts, only a very small portion. People want value for their money feeling satisfied otherwise you feel ripped off. Seats always manky as if never been cleaned, need a good clean, and the above chandeliers always dusty in these regional places. What can be said is staff are polite and professional at all times, but need to be flexible when a customer isn't impressed with order at their own discretion. Kind regards

Came in for the pub quiz on Monday night as a regular for some light hearted fun with our friends. At the end the quiz master, Tim, announced that the winning team name was "Manchester university pro life society". Claiming that as he wasn't from Manchester he knew nothing about what it was and explained the team working behind the bar chose the name. In no way is this ever acceptable, funny or appropriate, especially after what's currently going on in the world regarding abortion it's insensitive and Tim and the staff need to take responsibility for their actions.

Used to be my local ,don't get there so often these days. Nice beer by 7 Brothers Throw away IPA. Treat for my daughter she loves the chicken wings. We got our wings and were supposed to be 8 each but we only got 5 each which was a bit odd. Great FOH resolved the issue. Cookies dough sandwich to follow , takes calories to another level. Efficient ordering on the app as ever. Will be back.

Love the breakfast deal. Absolute steal, my vegetarian breakfast set came in enormous portion and for less than £4 without sacrificing the quality too. It was served warm. You order and pay online on their app and they'll bring your food to the table. Very convenient and the service was fast. Update March 2024: Breakfast deal is £4.99

Staff were rude to my friends, and refused to serve them because they had (non-alcoholic) drinks in a Tesco bag to drink later. Staff insisted that the drinks were alcoholic and that they couldn't bring them in.

I hadn’t been in here for breakfast before so I thought I would give it a try as I was in Manchester this morning. I was very happy to see the traditional English pub decor and ambience of the place. There was plenty of seating. There were some televisions with the news on and there were a few happy families seated enjoying their meal. There were plenty of available tables to choose from and they were clean. I ordered regular breakfast which was only £4.99 and a refillable coffee for £1.50 which is a bargain compared to the high street coffee shops and frankly just as nice. Also I had two refills. The waiting staff were very friendly and my food arrived within 10 minutes. A perfect place for a breakfast if you’re in the area. Thanks for reading

Usual Wetherspoons innit. The cabaret, however, was fantastic!

I have never reviewed before but having bad experience regularly made me do this. Have been at this place regularly and everytime i have been there everything is fine except when i have to deal with guy with amputed one hand. He is the worst when it comes to dealing and behaving with customers. It wasnt just me,i was told by my other friends as well, he is really rude. Being him disable i always sympathise and never reply for his rudeness but facing rudeness everytime made me write this. I dont think i will ever return there anymore would rather travel a bit and go to fallowfield brach. Thankyou.

The usual standard of Wetherspoons pubs. This one is allot quieter than city centre pubs although usually full of students during term times. Fast service and all food ordered here was of great standard.

Great wetherspoons, one of the best in Manchester.

Nowhere near as busy as the city centre pubs, but this may suit some folk. I had fish chips and garden peas with a strong Brewdog ale for £10.41. Very pleased with the quality of the food and the size of the portions.

Well priced, decent foods. Had the chicken jalfrezi which came with rice, naan and 2 poppadoms. Come in here when visiting daughter at uni, very convenient.

Well. Where to start. So, the place looks nice inside. Dark, presumably so you can't see too closely. The nuggets where surprisingly very tasty, the burger has tiny and dry. We shared the loaded fries, they could have been better, the cheese was barely melted and lacked flavour. The halloumi was a bit overdone but was also quite cold on arrival. Staff seemed quite nice, although rushed. The place was letdown by the stereotypical spoons crowd. People pushing in, arguing with each other and a delightful couple who seemed close to good old fisticuffs. That might be your type of thing, but not mine.

Had breakfast. Value for money. Excellent atmosphere. Very good ambience. I wonder how they manage to serve such excellent fare at such prices. Their lemonade is recommended.

I'll definitely come back again and again soon.

Lovely place, was in yesterday and ordered an 8oz steak, with chips, onion rings, peas and a pepsi for just over £13. The chips were the best I have ever had, very large and substantial. Really enjoyed the steak and the waitress was lovely. If I'm around that area again, I think I'll be going back for another steak.

Great variety of drinks and the food was exceptional. I’ve never had better customer service. I could tell that the preparation of the food handled by Hannah was sublime.
