We ordered a cheese and tomato toasted sandwich which was completely burnt on one side and could not be eaten, . The sausage and bacon sandwich was awful with the sausage being too hard to eat , it would seem it had been cooked much earlier and left, the bacon was streaky and far too hard to eat . We would not eat in here again.

This is my go-to place in Marlborough so this Saturday morning I thought I'd bring my partner here for breakfast. Usually the food and service are amazing. After 10 minutes I had to chase up our pots of tea and the staff, all stood around doing nothing, seemed surprised we hadn't got them. The English breakfasts arrived - overcooked bacon, soggy toast and cold, dry scrambled eggs. Having raved about how great this cafe is and given the number of previous positive experiences I've feel I've been let down. Will have to consider whether or not to come back.

Really friendly and easy going. Efficient and polite but most if all the food was excellent quality. I particularly enjoyed the sausage and bacon in our full English breakfast. The coffee was amazing and having £1 refill was wonderful. Definitely go again and recommend to a friend.

I had lunch at this cafe. It's a lovely cafe, with friendly staff & good service. The coffee is good, & you can get refills for £1 if you're sitting in, which is good. However, I was disappointed with my meal. I had the prawn jacket. The potato was very small & came with about 8 large prawns. It cost £9, which I felt was poor value for money. It was tasty but it wasn't filling, so I left hungry. Please could we have bigger potatoes?

Staff brilliant 👏 so so friendly people , service top notch . We have already decided to go back and this time have something to eat as the prices are really reasonable. We highly recommend you go there it's definitely a MUST .

We visited this cafe for breakfast because it was open, as opposed to a nearby competitor which wasn't. It was fairly busy but we did get a table. I went with scrambled eggs while my wife went with a croissant. The scrambled eggs, when they arrived, was just a pile of eggs on two stacked pieces of toast. Nothing fancy but they were perfect. The toast was toasted and the eggs on the slightly underdone side which is how they should be. The only negative was my wife's croissant which looked as though it had been cooked just a tad too long when it was made. Very crunchy but she said it was ok. It was warmed, which was good. Worth a visit.

I've had some lovely food here and fabulous coffee over the years but sadly this breakfast missed the mark. We both had the full English breakfast. The sausages were excellent, but the bacon was over done, and there were no mushrooms or black pudding. My friend had two fried eggs which were stacked on top of each other and over two slices of toast also stacked on top of each other with very little space on the plate to eat from. We asked for tomato sauce and were served a tiny portion (for two) of a tart, brown-coloured sauce that the waitress confirmed was tomato sauce.

Nice little coffee shop but little restricted on food options and didn't serve chips as extra and the panini and no crisps either. Which for a sit in meal was surprising. The price was OK for a basic panini. The white hot chocolate I recommend but again a small cup and needed another drink within first 10 mins.

I support independent establishments…. But sadly after three visits here it’s decided we won’t be revisiting. Our experience was not great. Cold eating area, I had my coat on my lap to warm my legs. Thick dust on the display of photographs for sale. My partners coffee was lukewarm on arrival. His breakfast-poached eggs with toast, paid extra for sausage and beans at £2 a pop each. The sausage was just about lukewarm, his beans were not. They were cold. £2, for a small ramekin of cold baked beans will never encourage a re visit. I had eggs royale, which came without the most important part….. it had no salmon. I went to the counter and this was rectified. But it shouldn’t have to be eh? It ought be there when it leaves the kitchen. My partner didn’t want to complain about his cold breakfast, as he stated, If you have to tell them they’re serving cold food, they really don’t care too much about what they bring out…. We just won’t come back again. So that’s it’s done for us here I’m afraid.

This is an exceptional cafe on Marlborough high street. It is an oasis for lunch during Summer School. The choice of freshly made sandwiches and coffees is excellent and the only decision is what to choose from the wide array. I’ve come here was 5 consecutive lunches every week for the last 8 years. The quality of the food and the prompt service even on a busy lunchtime makes the Food Gallery for No 1 choice. Well done, and I look forward to coming back next year 😀

Liked: Charming venue, pleasant and efficient staff, nice location Not so much: The English Breakfast I ordered was over-priced for what it was. £12.50 (or thereabouts) for a small plate of toast, a tiny ramakin of baked beans, some thin strips of crispy bacon, three quarters of a length of sausage (odd) and some cherry tomatoes. All entirely over-cooked. It took ages to arrive so my theory is that "service" was called by the chef and then it was forgotten. Hence the cold eggs with solid yokes. I might have caught them on a bad day, but given their pricing and the amount of options elsewhere in Marlborough, I won't be risking a second chance.

As weary travellers, we made the mistake of rocking up here just before closing time - I say mistake because I wish we'd arrived a lot earlier because it seems a wonderful place, we were made very welcome, even as they were trying to clean the place before they put up the shutters! We only had time for a cuppa and a cake, but that was most excellent, a damn good pot of tea and scrumptious cakes, I envy the locals for having a place like this in town, I'd be in there every day!! We will be going back, OK, it's a fair distance from where we live, but Marlborough itself has much to offer, so it is worthy of a visit, which we will be doing!!

I have been coming almost every week for a long time. The food is decent; today (21st May) one of the waitresses was extremely rude - made us feel like second-class citizens. (I am brown, my friend is Ukranian). The service has always been lovely but today I truly felt humiliated. The waitress is blonde (I asked her for her name but she didn’t tell me). She told us to ‘move out of her way’ and stand on the side while we waited to order in an immensely derogatory manner. I have always loved the atmosphere but today, I am hurt and disappointed. I feel humiliated to another level!

I ordered the turkey and stuffing for sit-down and the ABC (avocado, bacon + chicken) for our next stop at Uffingdon's White Horse. We were very delighted with each choice, especially so the ABC. (He ate more than half of it!) We live in London and my boy has already investigated how long it might take him to enjoy another Food Gallery sandwich--2.5 hours--and he just might make good on the scheme.
