The carvery was excellent ,the service was first class and they served gluten free gravy and Yorkshire puddings, our first time there highly recommended we will certainly be going back.

Disappointed with service and some of the food: our food was served to wrong table, fried egg was not free range and was burnt. They tried to charge us for the drinks which were paid for at the bar. Needless to say we left no tip and will not be returning

You have not had a decent carvery unless you try this pub! Available on a Thursday and Sunday. The food is delicious, with a choice of four meats ( you can chose two) and at least 5 vegetables, plus mash, roast potatoes, the biggest Yorkshire pudding and superb gravy. The photo does not do this meal justice.

We had visited Gooderstone Water Gardens and on the drive back found this pub at a staggered cross roads - it was the first one we had found open before 3 pm. Initially we were disappointed as they were only doing a carvery (every Thursday) but we decided to stay and eat anyway. Boy were we glad we did. The food was excellent for a carvery and the best we had ever eaten. Due to Covid they serve you but they do not crimp on the portions they are huge. There was four meats to chose from (you get to choose two) with plenty of veg and a good old Yorkshire. Pudding is included although if you are food full you can take this away in a tub. Service was very good from friendly staff and the Inch's cider was great. It had a real apple flavour to it. It was very busy with a number of locals attending for this excellent carvery at a very good price. Highly recommended.

I came here before Christmas, as one of a large party. When I saw that there was another large group there, I had my doubts about whether the service would suffer, but there was no need: the staff were efficient and courteous; the meal was delicious and very generous on portion size. A very enjoyable evening.

Visited here with my wife. Could only have a black coffee as I was on my way to hospital. Coffee was excellent and great value. (I have no doubt the food will be good too). The guy who runs it is really friendly. Will definitely come again when I can eat something!

As regular customers for lunch on Saturdays my partner and I have noticed that the service has got worse. If the owner isn’t there, the young staff who despite doing their best, leave customers for ages before taking orders and don’t notice when customers need them. Today we received our beers but no glasses, then we waited 50 mins for 2 basic mains and a side dish, they came followed by our cutlery. The food is good and the staff are lovely but it’s clear there weren’t enough doing front of house and probably the kitchen, as we weren’t alone waiting ages today. We want to support it as an independent restaurant but the really slow service is putting us off.

Everyone should go here just for the milkshakes. We even had an extra milkshake instead of dessert because they are soooo good. Rayna May was a friendly, efficient, knowledgeable waitress. The place was really clean and comfortable. The food was very reasonably priced. My salad was amazing, my friend really enjoyed her burger and did I mention the milkshakes 🤣🤣🤣

Popped in here for a quick lunch at the end of our walk, with our lively springer spaniel, who was made very welcome. We found the Kings Arms staff friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed excellent sandwiches, sensibly thick and beautifully fresh bread with loads of filling. We thought they were great value, especially given that they were accompanied by salad, crisps and really lovely coleslaw. They really filled us up. It was only a shame that our holiday accommodation is well over an hour away, so we probably won’t be able to repeat the experience soon. We will definitely recommend the Kings Arms.
