The Flying Boat Cafe in Eastleigh

The staff are lovely and menu is wide and varied. On this front, the flying boat is doing fantastic. The reason I score it down is, some of the food portions are small or inconsistent. My most recent experience I ordered a hoisin duck wrap and the below picture shows how much was inside. I basically paid £3.65 for a tortilla wrap and a scraping of duck. Please fill your wraps either more content. This was not a one off.

Absolutely delicious food at very reasonable prices ( probably the best in Hamble) Staff are also very friendly and thoughtful and help to make every visit an enjoyable experience.

I had a wonderful experience at the Flying Boat Café recently. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food and drinks were very good but more importantly the service stood out for me. Agata, in particular, made my visit memorable. Her friendly demeanour, and always smiling approach made me feel welcomed. Its rare to came across someone who strikes the perfect balance between being approachable and efficient, and Agata definitely does that. I highly recommend the Flying Boat Café, and look forward to returning soon.

Not enough options on trip advisor because I use the flying boat for breakfast and lunch. I also use it to have casual lunch meetings with colleagues. It is a great little eatery that provides a vast array of options. I've tried almost all of them and I cannot point to a single item on their menu or any of their sandwiches that are not ridiculously high quality. Salads, sandwiches, lunch specials, hot food, you will 100% be able to find something you like here. On top of this, the ladies who serve you are so nice and so good with the service they provide. I've wandered off after ordering before and they are happy to find you to make sure you get your order when it's hot. They are all really friendly, all the time (something I'm amazed at as my mood is always plain to see on my face) and they absolutely make this place the highest quality it could possibly be. I couldnt recommend here enough.... It's also very good value for money and it's crazy this is the last thing I said, because it's absolutely financially viable to come here every day for lunch. If you work in gamble and you don't have lunch here, you need to change your ways!

Lovely breakfast and excellent service! The young girl who served us had a small accident and spilt milk on the table! We did feel sorry for her as she was mortified but cleaned up swiftly and efficiently and was full of apologies! Anyway we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and will definitely be back sometime!

Amazing place to go for food and drink, fairly priced and good quality food. I recommend the fish and chips on a Friday, this is new to the cafe and was amazing. The girls on the till are very friendly and service with a smile, the blond lady is very helpful and extremely polite. I cant wait to come back on Monday. Recommend to anyone looking for nice food, good atmosphere at a great rate.

I don’t normally post reviews but feel the need to today. Came to the Flying Boat cafe on Friday 17th Nov. Myself and two other work colleagues came for breakfast. We had the standard breakfasts at £7.95 so with drinks came to £28.25. I know that times have changed since covid but I still think that we should get value for money. The Sausages were very bland and tasteless (cheap)… hash browns, I assume have potato in the middle.. these hand nothing inside apart from grease and what I would describe as equivalent to scraps from the chip shop.The bacon was inedible. Mushrooms were tinned and looked like slugs and cold.The Toast was the best part of the breakfast. All in all we were all very disappointed and will not return. I have no problem with paying whatever it cost for any product but this was really poor and would hope that the people in charge would take note. Sorry for the moan.

The flying boat cafe is a is a whole new cafe experience, the food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. I happened to be the first customer to enjoy the launch of the new menu this morning going for the eggs royale, which was beautiful and presented perfectly. I've been before lunch My husband and I came for breakfast this morning. Great prices and selection of food for the meat Eaters, but not a great selection for the Vegetarians like myself fancied Scrambled eggs on toast white bread would have been great But didn't get Asked what type of bread I wanted.. I took my elderly Sister who is local here for lunch today. Absolutely fabulous Lunch we both had, nothing fancy, just good wholesome food and drink. She even said she's going to come again on her mobilty scooter, now she knows where it is!

Large selection for breakfast and lunch, every day a different menu. They are constantly developing and improving recipes! Nice, smiling and well organized service. Possibility of ordering via the application to be picked up on site in 15-minute intervals, which is a great option because there are often queues.

Hamble Catering (parent business) have previously catered for our work engagement day at Christmas, and the food was delicious and slightly outside of the box. We decided we needed take-out for lunch yesterday so thought we'd pop down to the Cafe. We were not disappointed....

The cafe is always busy, and gets hectic both before and after normal lunch hours. The staff work incredibly hard and manage crowds and workload extremely well and in a very friendly, yet professional manner. Very happy with the boat.

Was served lukewarm coffee and a really feeble looking/tasting bacon sandwich that was literally two slices of unbuttered bread and only one small bacon rasher, no salad, with no butter or sauce offered either.

The Flying Boat have an order cutoff time, which you cannot place an online order after this point in time.However, there is no communication on the website of when this cutoff point it, only a message saying its past the cutoff time after you have tried to order.

I use the cafe regularly as I work nearby. The food is sourced locally, is good quality and served with a smile. Kate and the rest of the team are always helpful and realy friendly - they go out of their way to help out.

A great selection of foods and a fair price for the area it’s located in as well as a higher standard of quality compared to most other cafes. All the staff here are very well mannered and nothing is too much trouble. The lady behind the counter (Kat) is lovely too, always happy to help where possible and always greets people with a smile! Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Hamble area looking for decent food served to you, by decent people.

Another tasty breakfast today! Eggs made beautifully. Served with a smile! The place has all safety measures in place and I really like pre-order option on their website which saves me time with no queue system - food ready and hot when I’m collecting. Don't use this place if you only have a half hour dinner break, they are slow to serve and then get orders wrong. The food is decent and the staff are very nice, not somewhere you would go if you want efficiency and accuracy. I told her my order and she turned around and got it wrong within a 60 second window, I did not realise until I got back to work by which time I had 5 mins left to eat. On this occasion I drove back up there and asked for a refund as giving me the correct order was pointless because my dinner break was over. Thanks Flying Boat, now I get to be hangry all afternoon.

We use this place a few times a week and in general we cannot fault it. The food is lovely and the staff are friendly. However, today (not the first time this has happened) the owner was present. He is unbelievably rude and if this had been out first visit we probably wouldn’t go back. We ordered 4 lots of quiche with all the salad which usually includes “all the salad” today he very loudly said - that’s too much take some out. And we were given less than half of the usual portion and not allowed “all the salad” This man will ruin his own business with his poor attitude and his customer service is shoddy at best.

Regular visits for lunch , good breakfast and lunch menus, favourites are local pasties, quiche to eat in and especially the apple cake to take away, staff always polite and friendly on every visit, when busy or not!

Keep in mind it is a cafe, but love the food. All fresh, served quickly and very reasonably priced. I have quiche, salad and a jacket. Plus a Scotch Egg. The Quiches etc was lovely. The Scotch Egg was amazing!

I left a review for this cafe around 6 months ago, talking about how it is run, so I won’t discuss that gain here. What I will say is, that my first review I did compliment the food for being tasty and reasonably priced. I would now like to re visit that. On a recent trip to the boat (I don’t go much anymore, mainly use it when I forget to bring lunch), I ordered a chicken burger and chips. I was terribly surprised to seee hat I had just paid for, the tiniest chicken burger possible, unmelted American cheese, or thin of red onion and one chunk of streaky bacon, and a handful of chips. What was worse was when prepararing it, I saw them take off an extra bit of onion and bacon because apparently the burger was already overly full... all for the price of around £6.70 (if I am slightly off by 30p or so in price I apologise, can’t remeber precise price). How can you call this a meal worth £6.70?! This was worse than a £1.99 mc chicken burger and 99p chips at Mac Donald. This place needs to sort out their crazy pricing. Also, it tasted horrible too. One could say that after some bad experiences here, I stop using the cafe, and that is what I will do now, just a shame as they have no competition in the area.

Always a good selection of hot and cold dishes, I say always, surprise, surprise, at the end of the day and between breakfast and lunch change over you may struggle for the full selection, but the staff are always helpful if you have left it a bit late and try their best to sort something out for you. If you do time it right there are often great little specials on that disappear quick! The homemade sausage rolls are the best. Overall a great little café with freshly made food and friendly, hardworking staff.

I’ve visit this cafe 3 times recently and I have really enjoyed the food and value for money is great there’s good selection at lunch of both hot and cold food and they do an amazing full English! Two very friendly and welcoming girls served me and it’s a great place to go to take away or to sit in and relax on a lunch break!

Ein nettes kleines Café in der die Jungs und Mädels aus der Umgebung ihre Mittagspause verbringen und Snacks zu sich nehmen. Die hochgeladenen Fotos sind etwas optimistisch. Das Angebot an Brownies oder Kuchen war nicht sehr groß, aber was da war war lecker. Die Snacks fanden guten Absatz. Kaffee ist nicht schlechter als überall.Bedienung ist freundlich. Würde ich im Industriegebiet arbeiten, würde ich meine Pause gerne hier verbringen. Als Tourist ist die Gegend nicht sooo ansprechend, aber das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist gut.

My wife and myself found this lovely café whilst lost in Hamble,We had two jacket potatoes with fillings, and two cups of tea, all for under £7. The young staff were friendly and obliging, the café was immaculate.
